- Parker McCown has shifted from a career in the yachting industry to focus on his music career as a Bluegrass musician.
- He proposed to his ex-girlfriend, Katie, while scuba diving in Greece, but there is no evidence of their engagement on his social media anymore.
- Parker's life has changed significantly since his time on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, and it is unlikely that he will return to the yachting industry.
Parker McCown, who appeared on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 1, has moved on from his career in the yachting industry to a different life on land. After quitting his job as the deckhand on Parsifal III in Greece, Parker decided to spend the rest of his time in the country with his ex-girlfriend, Katie. Parker proposed to her while the couple went scuba diving during his time there.
Before Parker decided to quit, there was a lot of back and forth between him and first mate Paget Berry regarding his attitude on board. Paget felt that Parker didn't respect the hierarchy on the yacht and didn't care to listen to Paget's constructive criticism. Parker realized he wasn't in the right headspace to continue his role as a deckhand. He ended up leaving the yacht and his whole career in the yachting industry behind in the middle of the season.
Parker McCown's New Career Post-Below Deck
Parker's life has completely changed since he left Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 1 . He seems to have left the yachting industry behind him and is now focusing on his music career. The Bluegrass musician recently played shows in Wisconsin, Baltimore, and Asheville. While he started his career as part of a group called Hickabee, he now appears to be making music and performing under his name Parker Zelter McCown or Parker Zelter McCown & Friends. He has consistently toured since the music industry was reinvigorated post-COVID.
Parker & Katie Broke Off Their Engagement
Parker also had significant changes in his personal life. After he left Parsifal III, Parker traveled through Greece with his ex, Katie, for a few weeks. At some point in the trip, he proposed to Katie underwater while the two were scuba diving. As of the reunion in the summer of 2020, the pair were still happily engaged. Today, there's no trace of Katie on Parker's Instagram page, and he doesn't even follow Katie on social media anymore. The pair likely decided to break off their engagement as the couple was supposed to get married sometime during the summer of 2021, according to BravoTV .
Parker's life has changed significantly since joining the yacht on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 1. Instead of focusing on the work of a deckhand, he's succeeding as a musician. While he's likely no longer engaged, his professional life as a Bluegrass musician thrives. The ship for Parker to ever return to yachting life appears to have sailed.

Parker McCown opens up about life after Below Deck Sailing Yacht
Parker McCown is opening up about life after Below Deck Sailing Yacht. Less than a week after it was revealed that the deckhand decided to resign from Parsifal III, he is spilling what he has been up to since filming the show.
Parker proposed to his ex-girlfriend, Kaiti Brauer, who had flown to Greece to visit him. Parker popped the question underwater while the duo was scuba diving. It was the romantic gesture that sealed is on-again/off-again romance with Kati.
Are Kati and Parker still engaged?
There has been some confusion regarding whether or not Parker was in a relationship with Kati while working on Below Deck Sailing Yacht. The answer to that is no. They were broken up at the time. However, Parker didn’t hold back letting his colleagues know that she was the one for him.
The proposal was not planned until Kati arrived in Greece. Parker told Showbiz Cheatsheet that he was excited to see her, and feelings of love took over him.
He arranged the proposal with a local scuba company after finding the perfect ring. It was a magical moment for both of them, especially Kati, who was totally shocked at Parker’s action.
Parker and Kati are still engaged. They have not set a wedding date, but they plan on tying the knot in summer 2021.

Life is good for Parker
The newly engaged couple spent time traveling all around Greece after Parker quit working on Parsifal III . Once they were back in the United States, traveling didn’t stop. Kati and Parker visited his family in Maryland.
Then the happy couple spent time in Vermont before finally settling down in Colorado. A 36-acre wooded ranch about an hour south of Denver is where they call home. However, Kati and Parker are itching to get back to working on a boat.
In an interview with The Daily Dish, Parker spilled that it is his dream to own a catamaran with a recording studio. He and Kati both want to teach children about marine ecology and conservation. First up, though, is getting back to warmer weather and boat life once the industry reopens from the coronavirus pandemic.
Parker McCown has been on cloud nine since leaving Below Deck Sailing Yacht, and it is all due to his life with fiancée Kaiti Brauer.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.
Here’s What the Cast of Below Deck Sailing Yacht Is Currently Up to Now
Are Jenna and Adam still together?
From a spontaneous proposal failing spectacularly to a joke about being breastfed as an adult, Sailing Yacht was as much a dramatic success as the other franchises. It also left fans wondering about what's happening to the crew since the show wrapped. Did chief stew Jenna and chef Adam stay together? What's going on with Georgia's music? And most important—is Captain Glenn really as cool as we think he is?
Here's what the cast of Below Deck: Sailing Yacht is up to now:
Jenna MacGillivray
When the Canadian stepped onto the Parsifal III, fans got exactly what they hoped for in a chief stew—a no-nonsense leader who also had a romantic spot in her heart for the chef in the galley. Though her relationship with Adam Glick proved to be tumultuous, the two dated for some time after the season wrapped, even taking some time to road-trip together.
These days, Jenna is enjoying some time off from yachting, but given her recent IG pics, she's excited to come back to another charter season.
Madison Stalker
Wherever Madison went, drama always seemed to follow the second stew during season one of Below Deck: Sailing Yacht . In between epic meltdowns (including a major one between her and Jenna over her lack of enthusiasm for her job), she left the boat a better person and leaving fans ready to see more from their new favorite cast member.
Judging by her Instagram account, she's taken a break from yachting (perhaps until next season of the show).
Georgia Grobler
As good of a third stew Georgia was on deck, fans were more invested in her budding music career and growing feelings for a very taken Paget. She proved she was great at her job and could make a career out of yachting.
While it's unclear whether she stayed in the yachting industry post- Sailing Yacht , Georgia's working on music, premiering new music videos on IGTV during the quarantine.
Below Deck Med fans were so excited when Adam joined the crew as the chef for Sailing Yacht . While he abided by the preference sheets this time around, he also began a rocky romance with chief stew Jenna, making most of the crew members wonder if he was there for his job or the girl.
Since the show wrapped, Adam's busy onshore, cooking, and traveling with his adorable puppy. Oh, and Adam has a web series, Stoked , where he travels across the country to meet with local chefs and learn about their regions... all while over a campfire.
Paget Berry and Ciara Duggan
If there was any couple to root for from the entire Below Deck franchise, it's Paget and Ciara. The duo made a great team on deck, and mostly kept their relationship to a minimum on cameras—a first for Bravo! As they were the most familiar with the Parsifal III, the couple was the most reliable, and fans loved seeing their relationship continue blossoming post-filming.
These days, the couple has a lot to be excited about—they're now engaged. While they're soaking up their romantic bliss, they're also still working in yachting, although it's sadly on separate boats.
Byron Hissey
As the chief engineer of Parsifal III, Byron was clearly there to just do his job. But, given how he was the only cast member to have a wife and child back home, he also became the dad of the group, taking care of the other crew members.
Since filming wrapped, it looks like Byron is back on a boat doing exactly what he does best—fixing and making sure the engines run smoothly.
Parker McCown
Relatively new to the yachting industry, fans are more likely to remember the deckhand for his enraged rant about being breastfed by his mother. While he didn't necessarily have all the skills to make it as a deckhand, he definitely had a soft spot for his ex-girlfriend Kaiti, whom he eventually left Parsifal III to go back to at home.
It looks like the decision to leave the show worked out for Parker, as he's now engaged to Kaiti and writing some tunes while onshore.
Chris Miller
As Parker's replacement for the latter half of the season, Chris proved a great deckhand and an asset to the team, all while battling an injury.
These days, Chris seems to be taking some time off from yachting to travel across Europe.
Captain Glenn Sheppard
Captain Glenn was tough, fair, and not afraid to have a good time, which both crew and guests very much appreciated.
Thankfully, his reality TV experience hasn't turned him off yachting forever. Glenn is still the captain for Parsifal III and traveling through the Mediterranean.

Meet the Crew of Bravo’s ‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’ (PHOTOS)
Captain Glenn Shephard
Originally from Montreal, Captain Glenn’s life has always been dictated by the need to see the world. Glenn knows how to keep his cool while catering to the uber elite. This laid-back Captain is happy to pitch in when needed and likes to empower his crew to take charge.
Chef Adam Glick
Adam is a casual California surfer who travels and lives in his camper van when he’s not on charter. He likes to consider himself the “adventure chef.” Adam returns to the Mediterranean with a renewed sense of focus and a stronger culinary game.
Chief Stewardess Jenna MacGillivray
Originally from Canada, Jenna wasn’t planning a career in yachting, but once she was bitten by the travel bug, she couldn’t turn away from the lifestyle it provided. From her tablescapes to the way she manages her crew, nothing is left unfinished when she is in charge. This girl boss does have a sarcastic sense of humor and is always ready to party.
Chief Engineer Byron Hissey
Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Byron is a fixer on the boat and luckily is familiar with Parsifal since he worked on the yacht five years ago. Byron had his share of wild days and admits that he can still party with the best of them, but recently settled down, got married and had a baby, with his wife.
Second Stewardess Madison Stalker
Born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Madison succumbed to the wanderlust lifestyle and bought a one-way ticket to Fort Lauderdale where she jumped headfirst into the yachting industry. Madison is full of energy, like the energizer bunny, and is a spastic, sarcastic and hilarious stewardess who is always up to something.
Third Stewardess Georgia Grobler
Born in South Africa, Georgia traveled to Thailand to teach. She quickly got drawn into the world of yachting and has a wide repertoire of experience that ranges from private yachts to catamarans. A self-proclaimed extrovert, Georgia says she “parties like a rockstar and drinks like a sailor.” She is always down for a good time and can throw down with the best of them.
Deckhand Ciara Duggan
Having spent most of her childhood traveling on her family’s 45-foot sailing catamaran, yachting seemed like a natural career choice for Ciara. She got her first taste of yachtie life at 17 working as the sole stew and crew cook on a 27-meter sailboat in Spain. This charter season, Ciara steps in as a deckhand and although she has been dating her boyfriend Paget for over four years, they have never worked in the same department.
First Mate Paget Berry
Born and raised in England, Paget has been sailing since the age of 13. When he was 18, he joined the crew on a 27-meter sailboat in Spain and then spent the next three years exploring every corner of the Mediterranean. An avid outdoorsman, when he isn’t sailing, Paget enjoys weightlifting, surfing, diving and playing the guitar.
Deckhand Parker McCown
Born and raised in Maryland, Parker has been immersed in sailing culture ever since he was a kid, where he learned to sail at summer camp. For two years, he was a deckhand on an historic Skipjack built in 190. A self-proclaimed “James Bond of the sailing world,” this ladies’ man brings his high energy and magnetic charisma to Parsifal.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht arrives as the newest iteration of the popular Bravo franchise. The series, premiering Monday, February 3, takes place on a luxury sailing yacht with a new crew and equally demanding charter guests looking to follow the wind as they cruise along the crystal-clear blue waters of Corfu, Greece.
Chef Adam Glick from Below Deck Mediterranean returns to the galley aboard the180-foot-long sailing yacht Parsifal III . Additional crew members include Captain Glenn Shephard, yachtie couple Paget Berry and Ciara Duggan, Jenna MacGillivray, Byron Hissey, Madison Stalker, Georgia Grobler and Parker McCown.
When the sails are up, the crew’s already difficult job gets tougher as they must contend with maneuvering the sails in high winds and adapting to the steep tilt of the boat, all while troubleshooting the needs of the guests and any issues that may arise.
Constantly at the whim of the wind, it’s a sailing lover’s paradise and getting there is part of the fun as they visit the colossal cliffs, explore the breathtaking sites and the beaches in the sun-drenched Ionian Sea. The physicality of working on a sailing yacht brings new challenges to these young, attractive and adventurous yachties who are ready to work hard and play harder.
Below deck, tensions between the crew are amplified by the conditions of working aboard a sailing yacht which has a sleeker design than their motor yacht counterparts, with a smaller galley, almost non-existent stew stations and cramped living quarters. And while two yachties start a roller coaster romance so intense that it might sink the yacht, resident couple Paget and Ciara’s existing relationship gets pushed to new boundaries.

‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’: How Did A Joke About Parker Being Breastfed Nearly Get Him Fired?

'Below Deck' Exclusive Clip: Dylan Piérre De Villiers Plays Truth Or Dare With Bikini-Clad Charter Guests

It all started in the trailer for Below Deck Sailing Yacht , when deckhand Parker McCown asks, “Do you think it’s funny that I’m still breastfed by my mother?” We laughed and thought WTF is he even talking about. And with the drama taking place in tonight’s latest episode…we’re still just as confused?
The joke started a few episodes ago when Jenna told Parker, “There have been times that I’ve referenced your mom breastfeeding you,” and the two laughed about the joke. It is a joke, right? There’s been a lack of clarity there, but it seems to have been a joke that the chief stew started and he went along with… until he didn’t.
In last week’s episode, the mood was certainly cheerier as the two posed for a photo of him fake breastfeeding from her, in between dancing and swimming and enjoying their free time. So how did we get to this week where this seemingly harmless and ridiculous joke almost lead to Parker getting fired?
While setting up for a beach picnic, Parker gets an attitude about raking rocks and snaps back at Jenna, who calmly tries to explain to him that he’s confrontational and doesn’t take direction well. “You know you talk about me being breastfed by my mother, remember?” he tells her.
“I’ve been a pretty good sport taking Jenna’s jokes this entire season and that’s what I’m mad about now,” he explains in his interview. “If she’s mad about me being disrespectful she needs to check herself.”
View this post on Instagram Parker is at the end of his rope – and this time, we're not making a sailing reference. 😳 FINALLY find out what goes down on an all new #BelowDeckSailing tonight at 9/8c. A post shared by Below Deck (@belowdeckbravo) on Apr 13, 2020 at 11:30am PDT
Back on the boat he tells engineer Byron, “I might’ve been speaking out of line but then Jenna’s making jokes about me being breastfed by my mom, she talks to me rudely on a daily basis.” And despite Byron advising him to “rein back your attitude a little bit,” and Paget walking up to remind Parker, “You need to listen to what me and Jenna say,” the deckhand stands his ground.
“She doesn’t make me look good when she’s talking about me being breastfed by my mom. Do you think it’s funny?” Parker asks Paget.
“I never heard the original joke,” Paget tells him. “What was the joke?”
“Do you think it’s funny that I’m still breastfed by my mother, do you think that’s funny?” Parker presses.
“Yeah, a little bit,” Paget admits, which is the right answer, and not just because this whole thing is so ABSURD.
“Alright, well fuck you then,” Parker fires back, putting on display his negative attitude and smart mouth that end up landing him in not one but two meetings with Captain Glenn to determine his fate aboard the sailing yacht. This is of course on top of his incessant talking back to superiors, oversleeping for his 4am shift, and arguing with and subsequently complaining about Adam pointing out the skidmarks in their shared toilet. He’s definitely sucking but it’s not on a breast right now.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Monday at 9pm ET/PT on Bravo.

Wait, Is 'Below Deck's Parker McCown Really Still Breastfed?
Jun. 5 2020, Updated 1:08 p.m. ET
The current season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht is proving to be even more exciting than the original show and its Mediterranean spinoff — in part because it's so much more challenging to man a sailing vessel than it is a regular motorboat.
But another aspect that's making this season incredibly enjoyable is the hilarious cast who works on the exterior and interior of the yacht. And if we had to pick, we'd select potential future couple Madison Stalker and Parker McCown as the most amusing on deck.
Deckhand Parker McCown is half insufferable, half endearingly quirky, and somehow always thinks he knows better than the rest of the exterior crew, even though he's the greenest on board.
In fact, the rest of the team has been teasing him since the series premiered, and many viewers who tuned into the trailer are still confused as to whether or not Parker is breastfed .
Keep reading for the definitive answer to that question, as well as some necessary context.
Is Parker McCown from 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' breastfed?
As soon as we were introduced to the latest sailing addition to our beloved Below Deck franchise, rumors began swirling about whether or not Parker was breastfed.
For context, the buildup began when the teaser for the season was released. In a heated moment at the very end, Parker asks first mate Paget Berry, "Do you think it's funny that I'm still breastfed by my mother? Do you think that's funny?"
Paget responds, "Yeah, a little bit." And Parker, fuming, goes, "All right, well, f--k you, then."
In an interview with CheatSheet , Parker cleared up speculations and gave a definitive answer. "No, I'm not still breastfed by my mother," he shared.
The deckhand added, "But that comment definitely stems from a magnificent buildup in the season, and you are just going to have to stay tuned to see what goes down. It's definitely entertaining."
Who started the rumor that Parker was breastfed?
A recent episode of Sailing Yacht finally revealed where this recurring joke started. In one of the many intimate moments chief stewardess Jenna MacGillivray shared in the galley with chef Adam Glick, she poked fun at how Parker is always running his mouth without really knowing what he's saying.
"Parker should just not talk," she told her crush. "Just keep his mouth on his mom's teat, we're good."
That moment apparently snowballed into something of an inside joke among the yachties aboard Parsifal III.
Jenna even tells Parker as much when he's confiding in her that Maddie made him breakfast. "Don't be mean to me," he tells the chief stew at one point, and Jenna admits she's been poking fun at him with the rest of the crew.
"There have been times that I've referenced your mom potentially breastfeeding you," she tells him, laughing. "Just to be honest."
"Jesus," he responds. "Like, currently?"
We're relieved to learn that Parker is A) not an adult still being breastfed by his mom, and B) that he was in on the joke all season long.

Captain Jason Chambers has a message for fans amid Below Deck Down Under Season 3 wait
B elow Deck Down Under fan favorite Captain Jason Chambers makes sure fans know he’s ready for the next season of the hit-yachting show.
Captain Jason continues to update Below Deck Down Under as the wait for Sea just gets longer.
As Monsters and Critics previously reported, the hunky captain recently asked for fans help getting the show on Bravo airwaves.
We know that Below Deck Med Season 9 will premiere after Below Deck Season 11 wraps.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht and Below Deck Down Under Season 3, though, have no premiere date in sight.
Both shows have been filmed, so clearly, one will air on Bravo after Below Deck Med Season 9, and Captain Jason wants it to be his show.
Taking to Instagram, Captain Jason got his dance on with his daughter to Baby One More Time (from Kung Fu Panda 4) by Tenacious D. The captain mouthed the words “I still believe” and “Give me a sign.”
Captain Jason showed his knuckles to read “BDUS3” for obviously Below Deck Down Under Season 3 at the end of their singing and dancing.
“Below Deck Down Under Season 3 HIT ME ONE MORE TIME -or 10 more. I think we can all say we can’t wait too long for another season @bravotv. It’s been a huge wait for us between seasons and I can’t thank the huge support hanging in there and waiting, too long between drinks I say,” read part of his lengthy IG caption.
Captain Jason also went on to express what we are all feeling. It’s been way too long since Below Deck Down Under was on air.
“Well I’m proud to announce I HAVE NO IDEA EITHER. Let’s just join together and know that your support has confirmed another season and I’m waiting because I love it…. Your support has given time with my daughter I lost during season 1, so big LOVE ❤️,” ended his message.
What’s with the Below Deck Down Under delay?
The first two seasons of Below Deck Down Under aired slightly over a year apart. While Season 1 played out on Peacock, first and then Bravo, Season 2 played out on Bravo, dropping the next day on Peacock.
It’s very unusual for the powers that be to wait so long to film as well as air a new season. Below Deck runs like a well-oiled machine, but something is definitely up with the schedule.
Not only did Season 3 of Below Deck Down Under not film until earlier this year but Below Deck Season 12 was just spotted filming. In the past, the OG show was filmed from early Feb to mid-March, but the Below Deck Down Under filming delay seems to have pushed it.
Right now, just like Captain Jason, we have no idea why 51 Minds (the production company behind all the Below Deck shows) and Bravo are switching things up with the hit yachting show.
Aesha Scott returning to her Below Deck Med roots also has fans in a frenzy and could be part of why the wait for Season 3 of Below Deck Down Under will be even longer.
Captain Jason Chambers wants Below Deck Down Under back on the air, and so do we.
Let’s be honest. We didn’t need more Below Deck Med, even with Aesha, after Season 8 ended in January. What Below Deck fans needed and wanted as Below Deck Down Under or at least Below Deck Sailing Yacht.
To find out what is happening with Season 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, click here.
Below Deck Down Under is currently on hiatus. Seasons 1-2 are streaming on Peacock.
