Yes, You Can Really Charter Below Deck Med ’s New Superyacht, Home

Renting or buying Season 7’s new vessel won’t come cheap though.

"Home", the new yacht from 'Below Deck: Mediterranean' is available to rent or buy.

When Captain Sandy Yawn and her all-new crew set sail on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 7, they’ll be in uncharted territory aboard a new superyacht, Home . While cruising the pristine waters of Malta, Captain Sandy was working for the first time on the 163-foot motor yacht, which Bravo described as a “complex hybrid vessel” that the Below Deck Med vet found to be “more unpredictable to navigate.” As the show’s Season 7 trailer previewed, Home won’t make it through the charters entirely unscathed either: In one clip, Captain Sandy laments that she hit something for the first time in her career, while another scene teases a potential “crashing” incident.

Rest assured that there weren’t any serious accidents because Home is currently available for charter in the Caribbean region at a cost ranging from $245,000 to $273,000 per week , depending on the season. Meanwhile, Home — the first diesel-electric motor yacht to appear on Below Deck — is also listed for sale with an asking price of just over $30.8 million. Per the listings, the superyacht, which Dutch shipyard Heesen built in 2017, sleeps up to 12 guests in six cabins and features contemporary, “Ibiza-style” decor. Among Home ’s many amenities are a large sun deck, jacuzzi, swim platform, air-conditioned gym, and sky lounge.

Home also sleeps up to 10 crew members. In Below Deck Med Season 7 , that includes Captain Sandy, returning Season 6 deckhand Mzi “Zee” Dempers, and newcomers: chief stew Natasha Webb, chef Dave White, bosun Raygan Tyler, stews Natalya Scudder and Kyle Viljoen, and deckhands Storm Smith and Jason Gaskell. Following her involvement in Hannah Ferrier’s mid-Season 5 firing, Malia White cited a scooter accident and pending exams — not fan backlash — as her reasons for not returning for Season 7. (“It’s not that I might never come back to the show,” Malia told Showbiz Cheat Sheet in May. “I’m just not on the next season.”)

Season 7’s “new boat with new department heads” might bring Captain Sandy some challenges during her “first time ever in Malta,” but she’s naturally ready to face them all head-on. The network also told viewers to expect “outrageous costumes, wild nights out, and some major inter-departmental drama,” which “doesn’t even cover what the charter guests are going to bring in the new season.”

As always, expect plenty of romance at sea, too. As Bravo’s first look teased, “boatmances” will be a major topic of conversation this season, including flirtations between Natalya and Storm, as well as several questions about the true nature of Natasha and Dave’s relationship. There could even be a fling between a crew member and a charter guest, too. Though Bravo is premiering the series on July 11, Peacock subscribers can access new Below Deck Med Season 7 episodes a week early beginning July 4.

Fans can also experience Home for themselves off-screen — but it will cost way more than their monthly cable bills.

Below Deck Med super yacht Home

On the season premiere of Below Deck: Mediterranean Season 7, viewers are introduced to the crew that will be hosting the next few months of high seas drama on Bravo. It would be difficult to single out the sexiest new cast member this season, but it may just be the super-fine 50 meters of hybrid yacht hotness that is the M/Y Home!

The elegant Heesen superyacht was built in 2017 and was the Dutch shipbuilder’s first to be equipped with hybrid propulsion. “In this case ‘Hybrid’ means that the yacht can draw on two sources of power for propulsion: diesel mechanical and diesel electrical,” Heesen explains in their promotional brochure for Home . “Either or both sources can be used at the same time. This provides less noise and vibration, a more flexible power management which means better efficiency.”

Home measures 49.8 meters (163 feet, 4 inches) and has an overall beam of 9.1 meters (29 feet, 10 inches). It’s lightweight aluminum hull helps Home achieve a gross tonnage just under 500. Its max speed with a half load is 16.3 knots with diesel direct and 9 knots with diesel electric.

Moving on to the stats that are more relevant to casual Below Deck viewers, Home has accommodations for 9 crew members and 12 guests. There is a full-beam owner’s stateroom for Captain Sandy, one full-beam VIP guest suite, two double guest suites, and two twin guest suites.

Superyacht Home floor plan

I’m an avid Below Deck fan and I don’t feel like I ever have a very clear understanding of the layout on the boats featured on the various shows. To help myself (and other fans) during Below Deck Med Season 7, I’ve put together a map of the layout of M/Y Home that should help you imagine the 3D landscape in which all of the drama plays out.

I’ve color coded the different levels, starting with the sun deck (green) at the top and working down through the wheelhouse (pink), main deck (yellow) and lower deck (grey).

Below Deck Med Yacht HOME floor plan layout map

Here are individual images for the lower three levels arranged vertically for easier viewing on mobile devices:

Super yacht Home layout

You will notice that the crew resides in the lower deck at the front (bow) of the boat. There are four small cabins, four bathrooms, and eight twin bunk beds. The crew mess is right next to the cabins in the lower deck.

The captain’s quarters is located on the wheelhouse level and has a door that opens directly into the bridge.

The charter guest master suite is located on the main deck. I was surprised to see that the Home’s galley (kitchen) is right on the other side of the wall from the master suite bathroom.

One question I have after checking out the Home layout is where the engineer(s) sleeps? Also, I thought production takes a room to set up their equipment? The chef, three stews, and four deck crew members take up all eight crew bunks, right? If I figure out answers to these questions I will update this post for clarification.

For those of you wanting even more info about the Below Deck Med superyacht Home, here is the official promotional brochure followed by a series of videos of Home:

Taking readers behind the scenes, YachtCharterFleet identifies the yachts featured on the show, as well as those which have appeared on the celebrated spin-off series Below Deck: Mediterranean , Below Deck: Sailing , Below Deck: Down Under and the latest iteration, Below Deck: Adventure .

Bravo’s hit reality TV series Below Deck chronicles the lives of crew members who work and reside aboard a luxury yacht during the charter season.

IONIAN PRINCESS

Ionain Princess season 1 Below Deck Mediterranean

Premiering on 3 May 2016, the very first season of Below Deck: Mediterranean , a spin-off of the increasingly popular franchise, took to viewers' screens. This time the ‘yachties’ took care of their guests onboard the motor yacht IONIAN PRINCESS  in the Mediterranean  destination of Greece .

The starring yacht IONIAN PRINCESS was delivered from Christensen in 2005 and was later refit in 2016 and again in 2021. Truly opulent, she bears interiors that are sleekly finished with a range of warmly toned woods and plenty of comfortable furnishings. She also boasts one of the largest sundecks for a yacht of her size.

Below Deck: Mediterranean Season 1 yacht IONIAN PRINCESS is not currently available for private yacht charter vacations.

Below Deck: Sailing Yacht

This is the first time the Below Deck franchise branched away from gleaming motor yachts, with the various weather issues that sailing yachts have to contend with adding even more drama and excitement.

The design of luxury sailing yachts  also creates far more confined crew areas than we are used to seeing on the original Below Deck . In general, sailing yachts tend to feature smaller galleys, compact stew stations and cramped crew quarters which are in closer proximity to the guests’ living areas, putting crew under increased pressure to deliver their signature silver service.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3

In addition, deck crew are placed in a far more demanding role, with sailing yachts requiring increased accuracy and precision to safely maneuver and plenty of deck duties taking place in the midst of guest areas.

PARSIFAL III

Sailing yacht on Below Deck

An iconic and suitable yacht for the much-loved series Below Deck: Sailing , the 54m (177ft) sailing yacht PARSIFAL III has blessed our screens for all four series of the hit maritime show.

Season 2 was set around the glistening waters of Croatia and in  Season 3 of Below Deck Sailing , M/Y PARSIFAL III came back to where she traditionally charters in the beautiful Balearic island of Menorca . For the latest Below Deck: Sailing Yacht season she ventured around the glittering coastline of Sardinia .

The yacht can comfortably charter up to 12 guests across 5 luxurious cabins with a layout comprising a master suite, two double cabins and two twin cabins.

below deck yacht home

In the fourth spin off of Below Deck, the now infamous decided to spice things up a little. Instead of the usual Mediterranean or Caribbean routine, Below Deck went to the less explored (but extremely breathtaking) Norway.

For this new serie filled with adventure, Below Deck picked the motoryacht Mercury, ex Malibu and Kermit, to explore the Fjords Norway is famous for.

Mercury is a 50m motoryacht built by the dutch shipyard Amels, and designed by Terence Disdale.

She can accomodate up to 12 guests and 12 crew onboard. No doubt, that should be enough for this new exciting season.

keri lee III below deck down under season 1

The 181ft (55m) yacht was built by the American shipyard Trinity Yachts and features amenities such as a gym, a jacuzzi and 6 magnificent cabins. The perfect vessel to sail in style the waters of Northeastern Australia.

Keri Lee has a weekly charter rate that starts at AUD310,000 .

Northern Sun: the yacht in Below Deck Down Under Season 2

northern sun below deck down under season 2

Below Deck Down Under season 2 explored the coasts around Cairns, the gateway to access the great barrier reef and the Whitsunday Islands.

And it’s hard to imagine a better yacht than the Northern Sun motoryacht to explore this iconic area. The Northern Sun is a 50.8m (now yacht) that used to be a vessel dedicated for ice exploration. The refit work took two years but was clearly worth it when we look at the result displayed in this second season of the Australian Spin off.

Although the Northern Sun is built by the Japanese Narasaki shipyard, it surely is a boat that fits Australian waters quite well and could delight anyone looking to explore the most rugged locations in style, whether they are polar or tropical.

Northern Sun is available for charter from $161,700 / week . Her latest asking price was $15,000,000 .

As Captain Kerry puts it simply, “The easiest part about being a captain is driving the boat. The hard part is the crew.” Get ready for a wild ride on the high seas. No one’s getting out of this boat soon.

Steering the yacht this season is Captain Kerry Titheradge , the man responsible for leading the St. David crew as they cruise around Grenada. With a whopping 30 years in the yachting game, Captain Kerry credits his adventurous spirit to his upbringing in the Australian outback. Over his extensive career, he’s sailed across the globe, from North America to the Atlantic and Caribbean, but Grenada is a first for him. Despite navigating treacherous waters over the decade, the captain confesses that the most challenging aspect of his job is handling the personalities he encounters among his crew members throughout the years.

Captain Kerry has a solid team backing him up, with familiar faces Fraser Olender and Ben Willoughby on board. Audiences have witnessed Fraser’s journey from a regular stew to a chief stew in just two seasons of Below Deck — an impressive feat in a short period. As he steps into Season 11, Fraser acknowledges that taking on the role of chief stew means taking on the responsibilities of a therapist, which likely puts him on the spot in the drama unfolding on deck. Meanwhile, lead deckhand, Ben didn’t have the most memorable moments in the previous season. After his breakup with Camille, he’s looking for a much calmer season this time around.

Below Deck Season 11 also introduces a bunch of new faces on board . Chef Anthony Iracane is dedicated to the high-class culinary life and has been working in the yachting industry for over four years. Bosun Jared Woodin is set to be the series’ darling, as seen from his struggle to call out distances after normally working in feet and not meters already iconic moments.

Joining the crew are deckhands Marie “Sunny” Marquis and Kyle Stillie . Sunny, the sole female deckhand this season, is brimming with intelligence and brings an eager-to-learn vibe to the team. Meanwhile, Kyle is a newcomer to the yachting scene, but he’s in good company thanks to his loads of experience.

The team is rounded out by stews Cat Baugh , Xandi Olivier , and Barbara “Barbie” Pascual . Cat brings in five years of yachting experience, although she admits to being surprised by the size of St. David. With an impressive five-year track record in the industry, Xandi is expected to bring in all the entertainment to the cast. Barbie and her ample experience are bound to catch the captain’s attention, and her ability to speak Spanish might just give her an extra edge.

Catt Baugh Below Deck Season 11

Check out the official Braco synopsis for Below Deck Season 11:

“Capt. Kerry trades the Nordic Sea for crystal blue waters and stunning waterfalls as he leads his crew in the rich, historical island of Grenada. A disciplined and fair leader, Capt. Kerry has 30 years of experience working on boats and has spent almost two decades in yachting. As he steps on to St. David for the first time, Capt. Kerry relies on returning crew members Chief Stew Fraser Olender and Ben Willoughby to help the new staff find their way around the massive 197 ft. vessel.”

Chef Anthony Iracane - Below Deck Season 11

Below Deck is executive produced by Mark Cronin and Courland Cox — both of whom have worked on the original series and its first expansion, Below Deck Mediterranean . Since the show’s premiere in 2013, the duo have had their fair share of unique experiences. Compared to other reality TV series, the cast comprises actual crew members whose professional careers are tied to their roles on these vessels. Not only are they in charge of keeping the boat running safely and smoothly, but they also have to meet the demands of their diverse clientele of celebrities and affluent owners.

Below Deck also serves as an eye-opening show for audiences curious about the yachting industry, which sometimes might not be accessible considering its exclusiveness. As Cox shares with Bravo , what distinguishes Below Deck is its appeal to provide audiences with a glimpse of their work lives on deck.

“The vast majority of people that do the show, they always say, ‘I want to do the show because I want my friends and family to understand what my job is,' And they’re like, ‘If I go on Below Deck, I will have a tangible, visible thing for my family and friends to understand what my job is.'”

Below Deck first premiered on Bravo on July 1, 2013, and has continuously followed the crew’s adventures aboard a superyacht during the charter season. As of March 27, 2023, the series has premiered a total of 154 episodes.

Where is Below Deck season 11 filmed? City and other locations, explored

S eason 11 of Bravo's beloved reality show, Below Deck, began on February 5, and ever since, fans have been left wondering where this season was filmed, given the breath-taking backdrops they are seen sailing through.

Below Deck became a franchise with the popularity it garnered after it premiered a decade ago in 2013. It has since seen 11 successful seasons and several spin-offs.

The pristine locations have been a major part of the show's appeal. This season, according to the reports at Dexerto, St. David set sail in the eastern Caribbean, while some fans on Reddit also reported to have seen it sailing in a Caribbean country.

Below Deck's season 11 yacht seen in Grenada

The last season saw the luxury yacht St. David sail across the Caribbean and explore St Lucia Island. Hence, fans got curious about the whereabouts of this season's filming locations, because they assumed it wasn't the same location as the last season.

While Dexerto reported St. David to be filming in the eastern Caribbean, some Reddit users revealed the exact location of the yacht. They said they spotted it in Grenada, which isn't far from St. Lucia.

Grenada isn't just known for its pristine beaches, but also the backdrop of its houses with matching brown rooftops. While fans of the show have vicariously seen the blue beaches, upcoming episodes might take them inland.

As per the Bravo TV website, Grenada boasts a tropical climate and has opportunities for visitors to go diving, snorkeling, and more. It is located in the West Indies, and has two sister islands, Carriacou and Petit Martinique.

A recap of episode 4 of Below Deck season 11

The last episode, titled It's Always Sunny in Grenada, came out on February 26 and centered around Cat trying to settle into her new duties. Barbie's story continued where it left off in the last episode when she felt victimized by Fraser.

Barbie' s crush on Jared became apparent when she told him that she liked him. Jared was taken aback, but did admit liking it when he told Fraser he saw a twinkle in her eye.

Coming back to Cat, Fraser asked her to help out at the dinner that night so she could learn. However, things didn't pan out well. Cat reached out across the dining captain to fill his wine glass, while she should have filled it from the right. She also asked Fraser about the positioning of the cutlery on the table.

On top of that, she forgot to clear a guest's mat, which resulted in the Captain himself reminding her to do so.

Cat was seen talking to Fraser later in the episode, where she cried about feeling insecure. Fraser reassured her and said,

"We are family for the next six weeks, okay? I'm going to be there for you at every occasion."

Fans saw Barbie's crush on Jared dying after he got sloppy drunk at the crew night out, possibly because he was frustrated for not being able to talk to his daughter. Barbie and Kyle were then seen going on a walk alone, where Barbie vented out her feelings about her colleagues.

Sunny and Ben also went on a walk, where the former called out Ben for chastising her on the yacht radio. He said he was being "cheeky" and reassured that nothing would happen even if the captain heard it as she was his favorite employee.

New episodes of Below Deck season 11 drop every Monday, on Bravo, at 9 pm ET.

Below Deck Recap: Queen Drunk

below deck yacht home

Fraser and Barbie, at long last, seem to conclusively make nice. It helps that she good-naturedly cops to being a “spoiled bitch” who needs to grow up. “Who do I think I am?!” she laughs. What can I say? I love Barbie. I also continue to love Anthony, who — four days out from the anniversary of his father’s death — talks movingly about channeling emotion into his food and making his dad proud.

Barbie may have gotten a terminal case of the ick from Jared, but Sunny and Ben are back on — they start making out in the hot tub while their co-workers whoop and cheer around them. Kyle chivalrously offers up his cabin to the happy couple while he eats a burger in the crew mess and talks to his crush, Barbie, about her travels to Israel and her passionate desire to convert to Judaism. She contains multitudes!

The next morning, Jared is still upset about missing his call with his daughter, with the added benefits of now being hung-over and having run out of data (for phones, this is the closest equivalent experience to being hung-over). He calls up their on-land provisioner to source blue-and-white towels and is so annoying on the phone that this woman, who I suspect is not being paid enough for this, calmly but firmly scolds him to be “more professional.” He apologizes; Ben looks on disapprovingly. Kerry (who refers to himself in the third person as “Kez”; why are Australian nicknames the best?) is sympathetic to the emotional baggage from home that Jared’s struggling with but reminds him of his responsibility to stay focused for safety’s sake if nothing else. He promises to keep his head in the game, and they end up sourcing yellow towels. On the bright side, Ben points out, at least they won’t have to wash the stains out.

With bathroom trash liners untucked, sinks grimy, and tissues peeking out of their boxes not properly origami-ed into flowers, Xandi is growing weary of redoing all the housekeeping work that should theoretically have already been completed by Cat. At least Fraser officially names Xandi, without whom this yacht would surely have sunk to the bottom of a reef on day one, his second stew. Barbie is predictably a little annoyed not to be recognized, but whatever. In her own mind, she says,  she ’s second stew. In her own mind, I believe, the boat is named after her.

Our next primary, a luxury property manager from Iowa named Tina, is “not picky.” She is pescatarian and won’t eat eggs or tofu. She refuses to drink from glass vessels, only plastic. On the bright side, though, she is also very unpleasant and strange. And yet, she is ultimately only a supporting character in the nightmare that is this charter. (Nightmare for the crew, that is — I, for one, am having a great time.) Her business partner’s wife, Eileen, is already drunk enough not to be entirely sure what her name is by the time she sets foot on the boat. The others soon catch up. They go snorkeling, and while I wonder whether it’s medically advisable to obstruct Eileen’s airways in any way at this point, I am neither a doctor nor a deckhand.

When they return to St. David, Cat greets them with a tray of shots, which would be fun in other circumstances, but these people need to be greeted with a non-optional saline drip. One of the guests jokes about peeing in the hot tub. I am using the word “jokes” with approximately 30 percent confidence here. Later, Queen Drunk Eileen’s husband (the prince consort) somehow locks himself inside their bathroom and knocks out all the glass from the door. Kyle is unfazed, having broken “hundreds” of doors himself under the influence, to say nothing of roofs, guitars, and one leg.

Despite the guests’ half-assed flapper costumes, dinner feels less in line with their theoretical 1920s Monte Carlo theme and more so like a 1990s Vegas-inspired bar mitzvah. Nothing is giving anachronism more than Fraser’s kitschy dice vest, as it’s made of a synthetic fabric that I don’t think DuPont would have quite gotten around to inventing yet. The food looks great, though!

The Drunk Prince Consort asks Barbie if she could set his plate down “more quietly” (“Can you feed your wife more water?” she asks in a confessional), then promptly manages to smash a glass. I’m detecting a pattern. Tina “hates” her profiteroles because they taste like eggs. Both ice cream and choux pastry are sort of definitively made with eggs, so I don’t know what to tell you, lady. The other guests complain that she didn’t wait for them to start eating dessert. “I’m done,” Tina snaps, angrily getting up from the table and fleeing downstairs in tears. Only one man — whom I initially assumed to be her husband, but I’m not doing a great job telling these dudes apart — follows her to check-in. In fact, her husband is still back upstairs, shrugging off her dramatic exit: “I told her to fucking settle down.” It takes a special guy to make me feel bad for Tina, who, not for nothing, has a large tattoo of some kind of bird of prey spanning the width of her back, accompanied by the word “live.” Meanwhile, the other guests, nominally Tina’s friends, are eager to complain about her in her absence.

Eileen, in particular, proves to be a mean drunk. (On second thought, I don’t want to diminish her to a single label — I’m sure she finds time to be every kind of drunk that there is or ever could be.) “Barbara, let’s go,” she snaps at Barbie for not having anticipated her 38th drink order. When Jared somehow gets roped into helping serve dinner, she tells him, “You’re lucky you’re good-looking. That’s all you got going on.” This throwaway insult was apparently a bull’s-eye, triggering his childhood trauma about not feeling good enough. Jared’s terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day just got even worse.

Karma works fast. Eileen slips and falls getting out of the hot tub. She hits her head alarmingly hard — hard enough that maybe we should double-check if all the blood vessels inside her brain are, like, good — prompting Barbie to essentially carry her to bed. Barbie threatens to start watering down their drinks tomorrow. At this point, I think they’d be well within their rights to wrap Eileen head-to-toe in protective bubble wrap. Just tell her it’s a spa treatment.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Captain Glenn Shepard uses ‘Bosun’ throwback for Season 5 tease

Captain Glenn Shephard on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4

Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Captain Glenn Shephard has given fans a few things to discuss.

Captain Glenn quickly became a fan favorite when the hit sailing show was revamped for Season 2.

However, today, the captain has become one of the most beloved members of the Below Deck family.

Recently, Captain Glenn had Instagram buzzing after he shared a throwback photo from him as a bosun, where he was looking very serious with his sunglasses on and posed.

“Back in my Bosun days. Had a bit more hair back then 😂 No idea why I was so serious for this one 😎,” he captioned the picture.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 won’t hit Bravo airwaves until Below Deck Season 11 wraps up. The season has only just begun, with plenty more drama to play out before we get to the hit sailing show.

Captain Glenn also had fun when one fan asked why all the Below Deck captains are so hot.

“Smoke and mirrors?” he wrote.

Here’s what else we know about Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5

While fans are anxiously waiting for Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, there are a few things we know. For one, Daisy Kelliher and Gary King are back for another stint following their Season 4 rift.

How Gary will be portrayed or how involved he is in the season remains up in the air following allegations of sexual assault against him that came out after filming wrapped last summer.

Sadly, Colin MacRae won’t return for another season amid his falling out with Daisy. It’s unclear if it’s because of things that unfolded between him, Gary, and Daisy or if he simply wanted to sail his newly restored catamaran.

In other Below Deck Sailing Yacht news, Daisy has built a friendship with Hollywood A-lister Christina Appelgate .
