Founded in 1907, Abeking & Rasmussen is globally renowned for producing high-quality custom motor yachts from 45-125m.

AKYACHT is an ISO 9001, Lloyd's-certified shipyard in Turkey. Its first breakthrough project was the spectacular 85m VICTORIOUS, the biggest superyacht ever built in Turkey.

Alia Yachts

Alia Yachts was founded in 2008 in Antalaya, Turkey. Its Lloyd's certified facilities are equipped for cutting edge yacht construction in carbon reinforced composite, steel and aluminium up to 80m.

Perini Navi

Renowned for pioneering automation and furling systems in large sailing yachts, Perini Navi today builds both sailing and motor yachts, most famous of which is MALTESE FALCON.

Established in 1980, Rossinavi builds custom superyachts between 40-70m in four locations between Viareggio and Pisa.

Royal Hakvoort

A family shipyard since 1919, Royal Hakvoort builds luxury yachts in steel and aluminium up to 65m in length.

A luxury yacht and jet design company based in London’s Fulham. Headed up by Dickie Bannenberg, son of the great Jon Bannenberg, the studio is renowned for creative, contemporary and approachable design – both interior and exterior.

Espen Oeino

Under the leadership of the eponymous Norwegian naval architect, Espen Oeino International has been designing iconic superyacht interiors and exteriors since the 1990s. Based in Monaco the studio has worked with Burgess on several projects, most notably the 72m Trinity Yachts-built ALBATROSS and the 156m Lurssen DILBAR, the largest yacht afloat by volume.

H2 Yacht Design

Jonny Horsfield established H2 Yacht design in London in 1994. Today it is a multi-disciplined exterior and interior styling team that has earned a reputation for challenging conventions in yacht design. The studio has so far collaborated on five projects with Burgess, most recently with Heesen.

Harrison Eidsgaard

International yacht designers and architects, Harrison Eidsgaard Design is headed up by its three partners, Peder and Ewa Eidsgaard and Ben Harrison. Undertaking both exterior and interior styling, the studio’s most notable yachts to date include the award-winning TANGO and ELANDESS, the latter being the studio’s first project with Burgess.

Jonathan Quinn Barnett leads a talented team of award-winning yacht designers. Established in 1995, the studio has created original exterior yacht designs and interior architecture for discerning clients in the luxury marketplace. With a critical eye on proportion and detail, designs of distinction associated with Burgess include the interior of OCTOPUS and popular charter yacht MUCHOS MAS.

Michael Leach Design

Established in 1997 by Mick Leach with Mark Smith joining in 1999, MLD is an multi award-winning design practice specialising in marine, aviation and residential projects. With over 60 years’ industry experience collectively, having worked in various top design offices, MLD is now established as one of the industry’s leading and most successful design offices.

Reymond Langton Design

Headed up by design duo Pascale Reymond and Andrew Langton, the London-based studio was founded in 2001. The studio has since delivered 28 motor and sailing yachts, including the 134m SERENE, the largest yacht built in Italy at that time. Originally based in London, the studio’s HQ has since moved to the historic city of Bath.

Situated in the stunning surrounds of Beaulieu in the New Forest, RWD is best known for the design of superyachts such as motor yacht HASNA and sailing yacht TWIZZLE. Founded in 1993, RWD has to date completed six collaborative projects with Burgess.

Sorgiovanni Designs

Established by yacht designer Sam Sorgiovanni in 1997, the eponymous design studio is based in Perth, Australia, and undertakes both exterior and interior designs. The studio’s unique location lends a point of difference to its body of work and it has become well-known for designing superyachts with an exotic feel, as well as great attention to detail.

Terence Disdale Design

Terence Disdale Design is an award-winning design studio located in London, and responsible for the interior and exterior design of the some of the world's most significant yachts. Renowned for a ‘beach house’ style, the studio’s most notable yachts include ECLIPSE and PELORUS, and it has no fewer than 10 collaborative projects with Burgess to date.

Tim Heywood Design

A multi-award-winning exterior yacht designer, Tim Heywood Design has produced some of the largest yachts on water, including the 133m AL MIRQAB. Located in Hampshire, the eponymous yacht designer cut his teeth under the guidance of Jon Bannenberg and in the 40 years since has completed six collaborative projects with Burgess.

Winch Design

A full-service award-winning British design and architecture studio specialising in the exterior and interior styling of motor and sailing yachts, aircraft, residential and commercial properties, Winch Design was established in 1986 and has to date completed seven collaborative projects with Burgess.

Great British craftsmanship

Oyster craftsmanship began in Norfolk in 1973. Oyster drew on the experience and craftsmanship of Landamores, who had been building wooden sailing yachts since 1923. They were soon joined by another Norfolk boat builder with an equally fine pedigree, Windboats, founded in 1920 by Graham Bunn – a master craftsman and yacht designer.

Merge and conquer

This team was responsible for building more than 700 Oyster yachts until Oyster took over Landamore’s new facility and brought the build in-house combining the workforce from both companies.

We have four main yacht construction centres: in Norfolk, there is Oyster Yachts Wroxham which is close to our new composite technology facility in Ashmanhaugh. The Oyster 565 and 595 are all brought to life here by our skilled teams. Our other construction centres are located in Southampton, where our Oyster 495 and larger models – the Oyster 675, 745 and 885 – are built and finished by hand to the highest standards. Our head quarters are at Saxon Wharf, Southampton and our newest construction centre at Hythe Marine Park is a state-of-the-art production facility where the new Oyster 495 is built.

British yacht builders

Everything about our boats and build process is focused on creating the world’s finest bluewater British yachts, from the quality of the materials to the exceptional skills of our craftsmen and women and precise project management. We believe a key part of owning an Oyster is understanding the craftsmanship and attention to detail that go into her. SPIRIT YACHTS COMPRISES A WORLD-CLASS TEAM OF CRAFTSMEN AND WOMEN WHO ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF BOAT BUILDING.

For over 30 years, Spirit Yachts has been perfecting its wood/epoxy yacht construction process, balancing strength where required with intricate bespoke joinery.

HANDS-ON APPROACH

The hull construction of a Spirit begins with the laminating of wooden ring frames over full-size computer-generated patterns. The ring frames are positioned upside down onto a ‘strongback’ before the centreline structure is laminated as one continuous structure over the entire length of the hull.

No moulds are used in the construction process of a Spirit. The beam shelves are fitted before the whole assembly is bevelled and faired to take the first fore and aft layer of hull planking.

In the larger Spirits, the central frames are reinforced with carbon inner frames to take the load of the mast, chain plates and high-aspect lead keel below.

The hull planking is stiffened and reinforced by the application of double-diagonal veneers epoxy bonded at 45° before the whole hull is covered with an epoxy glass sheath.

This last phase is not structural but stabilises the timber to allow for the perfect hull paint finish for which Spirit is noted.

For the interior, exposed wooden frames and hull planking provide a natural warmth and beauty. Intricate joinery and exquisite cabinetmaking below deck showcase Spirit’s eye for detail and expertise.

Established in 2003, Elton Moss are one of the top canal boat builders in the UK, with a reputation for producing solidly built boats that our customers are proud to own and use for many years.Our reputation is due in no small part to the fact that we have built all of the boats managed by our sister company, Carefree Cruising , for shared ownership boating. Each of these boats cruise for an average of 46 weeks per year, which is over 2,000 hours cruising. The Hardy 32 was designed in response to requests from potential owners who wanted an aft cockpit design suitable for cruising the French canals, but also retaining the speed and sea-keeping ability to cruise across the English Channel or the North Sea in comfort and safety. The Hardy 32 fulfils all these requirements and more.

HARDY 36 | 36AD

A sea boat utilizing the ever popular design of the Commodore 36 with its eye catching classic lines and a proper sea-going hull. Now a version without a flybridge for those people that are looking to cruise the French Canals and also have a large sociable aft cockpit.

The first of the new ‘Next Generation’ models from Hardy, ensuring that the legendary sea keeping design of the Hardy range remains intact, the design of the Hardy 40DS remained in the capable hands of Hardy designer Andrew Wolstenholme.

Designed to build on the reputation of the Hardy 36, the Hardy 42 is a top quality sea-kindly cruising boat with lively performance. The latest Hardy 42’s are capable of nearly 28 knots in heavy weather in comfort.

HARDY 50 | 52DS

After the introduction of the Hardy 42 it became clear that a number of owners would welcome a larger luxury motor yacht with similar performance and sea-keeping to match. The new design has a size and layout that allows a larger family to cruise together, but be manageable by a couple for long periods and distances.

The Flag Ship of the Hardy range offers a sea kindly semi displacement hull built to withstand the vigour of the sea. The design is typical of the Hardy approach to cruising motor yachts. The interior may be styled in either a traditional manner or lifted to give a more modern feel.

Replica of 17th Century Spanish boat docks in Great Yarmouth

Drone footage captured the moment a replica of 17th Century Spanish boat was greeted by hundreds of people.

The Galeón Andalucía arrived in Great Yarmouth , Norfolk on Tuesday as part of its European tour.

The boat was constructed by the Nao Victoria Foundation and, since its launch in 2009, has sailed 80,500 miles (129,552km) across the world.

As the boat came into the dock, two shots were fired from its cannon.

Here’s some of the latest yacht designs from Grand Soleil , Boreal, IDB Marine, Nautor Swan, and Hanse Yachts – take a look at the new boats arriving on the market …

Grand Soleil 52

Italian manufacturer Grand Soleil has been producing cruiser/racers for many years now and the company states that this new 52 is the spiritual heir to the legendary Grand Soleil 52 designed by German Frers back in 1987. I’m not sure if that legend has endured in the UK but the new 52 certainly looks the part and the arrival of renowned designer Matteo Polli, who has achieved masses of success with italia Yachts – particularly in the IRC class – certainly augurs well. The boat comes in two versions; Performance and Race. Both look extremely alluring and capable of cutting a dash on the racecourse.

Sailing the Boreal 70

Boreal Yachts sit in that very French cadre of utilitarian aluminium ‘go anywhere’ yachts much loved by soul sailors who idolise Moitessier and dream of communing with the albatross. Yes these soul sailors seem to have developed a taste for a spot of luxury too and the Boreal 70 is typical of the latest iteration of these hardy swing keel boats in that she is huge and surprisingly well appointed, boating such luxuries as a dishwasher should you so wish to choose that option. Sacre bleu! Nevertheless, this is a tough go anywhere cruiser which is at home in the tropics or the high latitudes.

New Boats: Mojito 30

French manufacturer IDB Marine has made a name for itself by thinking outside the box when it comes to yacht design and it is fair to say that their new Mojito 30 has stuck with that tradition, producing something of a head turner with this design that takes a lot from the developments in the First 40 and Mini Transat classes boasting the unmistakeable ‘scow bow’, featuring very full forward sections. Of the new boats, this is designed as a fast cruiser that could potentially be raced in longer offshore formats and features a swing keel, big sail area and decent accommodation.

Clubswan 28

The Clubswan 28 is a something of a break from tradition for Nautor Swan who have never produced a yacht this small. She rounds off their ClubSwan range and is a pure one design racer set up for four crew. At 1000kg, this Juan Kouyoumdijan design is going to be fast but she appears to be much less technical than boats higher up the range, eschewing foils and keeping things as simple as possible. There is no accommodation.

New Boats: Hanse 590

Hanse Yachts broke with go to designer of many years Judel/Vrolijk a couple of years back and this was the catalyst behind the launch of a new generation of Hanses designed by the French team of Berret/Racoupeau. In addition to a marked change in styling, with inverted ‘dreadnought bow and hard chines aft giving the boats a more angular look, the main drive seemed to be to up the quality of the boats down below – which was certainly achieved. The new 590 is their biggest boat yet of this new generation and offers easy sailing on a big scale. The new boat features an optional hard top bimini, a tender garage and acres of space down below. The boat will be officially unveiled at Cannes Boat show and promises to be a head turner.
