YACHTFISH Fishing Charters

And given the wide range of trip types offered by the company, anglers of every persuasion are likely to find an adventure that suits their needs. Whether staying closer to shore in search of snook, redfish, snapper, flounder, trout or cobia, or venturing into deeper waters where the grouper, amberjack, mahi-mahi, wahoo, red snapper, tuna. swordfish, sailfish and marlin await, it’s all here.

9555 Blind Pass Rd Slip D16S, St. Pete Beach, FL 33706

Offshore Hustler Fishing Charter s

When heading out on a fishing charter, it’s common practice to cross your fingers and hope for the best as you drop your hook. Offshore Hustler charters takes the guesswork out of your trek — they guarantee you’ll catch fish, or they pay you back! So you can hop aboard their 35’ Triton watercraft with confidence that you’ll be heading back to shore with a great story, and an impressive catch. Captain Pete has three decades’ worth of knowing exactly where the target-rich waters are, so all aboard for fun!

801 Pass-a-Grille Way, St. Pete Beach, FL 33706

La Costa Charters

La Costa specializes in far-offshore, deep-water excursions in areas where the open sea’s largest catches lie. Their experienced squad of captains have cumulative decades of experience fishing the waters of the Eastern Gulf, and definitely know where the most target-rich environments are located. In fact, if there’s a specific type of fish you’re hoping to snag, they’re even happy to navigate to the waters where they’re most likely to be found! Be sure to check their website for the myriad of trip types they offer.

12795 Kingfish Dr, Treasure Island, FL 33706

St. Pete Beach Charters

Captain Kenny is always happy to welcome groups aboard St. Pete Beach Charters, which offers trips to the waters of Tampa Bay, Gulfport, Clearwater, Treasure Island, Madeira Beach, and — of course — St. Pete Beach. Families in particular have praised St. Pete Beach Charters for accommodating groups including younger fisher-folks; the company specializes in helping budding anglers find their sea legs. Kids 10 and under even get to hit the decks and snag as much as they can catch for half price every trip!

453 81st Ave, St. Pete Beach, FL 33706

White Pearl Fishing Charters

Captain Zack at White Pearl isn’t just a St. Petersburg native, he’s also a Coast Guard certified skipper. After growing up fishing all over the area, he’s got the inside line on where all the best hot spots are, so you won’t have to worry about heading back to shore empty-handed. His craft is a Nauticastar Sport that’s loaded with the latest in fish-finding tech, which gives his passengers an arguably unfair advantage on hauling in catches.

5396 Gulf Blvd #206, St. Pete Beach, FL 33706

Non-Stop Fishing Charters

Non-Stop’s Captain Kevin is a sixth-generation Floridian who grew up with salt water in his veins. Over nearly 25 years, he’s learned every tip, trick and technique necessary for a great day out on the water — so you know you’re in for a massive haul. Step aboard his custom, Florida-built Threadfin craft, grab some tackle, and get ready for the trek of a lifetime (plus plenty of king mackerel, cobia, tarpon, snook, trout, and redfish to boot).

3701 Gulf Blvd, St. Pete Beach, FL 33706

Reel Water Charters

Reel Water has a full menu of charters available for the adventurous, including near shore, deep water, island tours, shell-hunting expeditions, and even shark hunts. Under the expert guidance of Captain Kyle, passengers aboard the Yellowfin can look forward to snagging a wide variety of fish, including trout, triple tail, kingfish and cobia. If you’re up for a real challenge, Reel Water also offers tarpon tackling trips — so bring your A-game!

  • Hours: 8 a.m. until sundown

  • The estimated cost to repair the pier is between $4.3 million and $6.5 million.

What are some ways to fish safely and ethically?

The FWC has put together a list of some of the best things to practice to keep fishing safe and respectful. Here's their best tips!

  • Be an ethical angler : Know when to keep and when to release your catch. Make sure you can identify the fish you're targeting and always abide by state regulations.
  • Be ready at the ramp : Make sure your boat and equipment are ready to go before you launch.
  • Wear a life jacket .
  • Watch the wake : Stay 200 feet or more from the shoreline and other boaters. Make sure to follow no wake zones and yield to wade fishermen.
  • Boat safely : Make sure you're aware of who was the right of way and when.
  • Be courteous on shore : Don't throw a line while there's a lot of swimmers and don't crowd anglers who are fishing from shore.
  • Don't litter : Recycle your fishing line and dispose of your trash in the proper place onshore.
  • Practice safe docking : Watch how other boats tie off and do the same. Keep a safe distance from other boaters and anglers.
  • Keep quiet : Sound is amplified over the water which can disturb other boaters or those who live by the water.
  • Keep your distance : Sounds or wake from your boat may cost another angler their catch.

We've chartered several yachts throughout the past year with this company and we've always had an amazing experience. They even accommodated a last minute Bahamas charter for our group. Highly recommend this company!

Photo of Mekesha B.

I have not used the actual service yet so I can only speak on the customer service so far and it is horrible. They rarely reply, say they will provide information then don't. I hope the boat is better than the customer service communication. The most communication was when it was time to give the money. After that it was like pulling teeth. I will definitely be back to update this review after our yacht use. I'm still waiting for some information from them but at this point we'll find catering ourselves.

So I booked a last minute instagram yacht deal for my daughter 18th bday!!! Sent money via cash app was skeptical but again it was last minute and the price was right! Posting stated new yacht with grill !! A day before they message it's having maintenance issues but they are upgrading me to better yacht at no additional charge . I was thinking wow that's nice and agin it's day before and we already have invited guest !! Get there it's an old axe yacht with no grill, microwave and fridge not working . all on my daughter 18th bday . Captain was sweet and that only the one star for. This is a company not just one captain so he had nothing to do with booking . After I complained no resolution or slight refund was given!! Very rude and said that's what you get for being on budget !! I never asked for a discount I just saw their deal and took. I would never had booked that old axx boat! Beware stay away!!

The boat itself was old, one toilet was broken and the other working one had no seat. The boat had a gas leakage which made the boat smell of gas fumes the whole time. I ordered decorations and paid extra for the happy birthday sign to be broke and not inflated! Only upside was the captain Robert was amazing! If it wasn't for him the experience would be even worse. Do not book the boat live a little!!!! For the money we paid we were very disappointed!!

Photo of karina l.

Captain has nothing to do with company he was nice. Boat was clean even though we did not get the boat we booked. Then they argued with us about it. Very rude wont be using or recommending to anyone.

While a yacht may be the first thing that pops to mind when you think of the ultra-wealthy, chartering one might not be as expensive as you think. When you're splitting the costs between several family members or friends you are paying for transportation and stay and it can make sense financially.

You can also  keep money in your wallet  by selecting an older vessel or taking charge of sailing yourself (hiring a crew always costs extra).

So let’s take a look at options that may be within reach for people who aren’t living paycheck to paycheck but aren’t brunching with the Kardashians either.

Editor's note: prices are subject to change and may vary depending on the time of the year.

Rodney Armstrong from Santa Cruz Coastal Charters reported after a successful trip over the weekend, saying, “Today we fished Davenport for rockfish and lingcod. We had limits of rockfish for six and we had three nice lingcod and a handful of shorts ones.”

Rockfishing is limited to depths of 120 feet or less now, and will remain that way until October, when the deepwater opens back up again.

Halibut fishing is getting a slow start this year. Flatties are being caught in the ones and twos from the usual early season locations. Deeper water seems to be more productive, so try the 50-70 foot depths. Bounce ball trolling for flatties is a good bet right now because you can cover more territory. Drifting live bait always remains a killer option, but you gotta find the fish first.

Anglers launching from Moss Landing have reported good signs of bait above the deep sea canyons. Salmon are here, but sadly we can’t fish for them. Most Moss anglers are heading north or south for rockfish, or hitting the flat areas close by for halibut and really nice Dover sole.

Reports indicate a good amount of scattered bait in the Monterey area, including market squid, sardines and mackerel. Rockfish are on the bite from gravel beds off Del Monte Beach and on past Pacific Grove and Point Pinos. Fishing near Carmel and of course Big Sur, anglers find better quality fish and faster fishing. It’s a longer trip, though. Chris’ Fishing Trips in Monterey Harbor remains consistent, posting full limits of rockfish for every trip aboard the Caroline and Check Mate, but only a couple ling cod for the week.

Fishing from the beaches is good and getting better. Despite a muscular south swell this week, surfcasters around the bay found protected beaches or good inshore holes to hit for barred perch, walleyes, calicos and striped bass.

Everyone’s talking stripers these days. Monterey Bay has quite a few bass on the munch. Most good schools are hanging closer to Monterey, but the Santa Cruz side of the bay has seen its share of  bass. Most are schoolies in the 15-22 inch range. There are keepers in the mix as well, in the 28- to 32-inch range. Using sand crabs on a Carolina rig is a great way to attract a bigger striped bass while catching multiple barred surf perch. Hedge your bets.

If you don’t mind driving a ways to take another long beach walk, then heading north might be a great idea these days. Overall, bigger fish than our Monterey Bay variety can be caught from Half Moon Bay up to Ocean Beach in San Francisco. Baker Beach near the Golden Gate is not a bad bet either.

Each of our Shark fishing boats are equipped with state of the art electronics and safety equipment to ensure you not only find the Sharks, but also have a safe and unforgettable trip.

What type of bait will your Captain use?

Great news on the bait front… Sharks will eat almost anything and the worse it smells, the better it is. Live or dead bait may include Mullet, Ladyfish, Bonita, Blue Runners, carcasses from filleted fish, old smelly meat, pork or poultry and everything in between.

Where will we find the Sharks?

Depending on the type of Sharks you are hunting, your Captain will provide several options that may include shallow water sight fishing, areas close to the beach in the Gulf of Mexico, the famous Sunshine Skyway bridge, ledges by shipping channels and the areas around Egmont Key and Fort Desoto Park.

YACHTFISH has numerous pickup points in the Tampa Bay area in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater to make your Shark fishing trip easily accessible. Book your Shark fishing expedition today and create memories for a lifetime. Oh, and if you catch  Old Hitler , you will instantly become world famous.

Fishing Charter Fleet

The YACHTFISH Fleet

Enjoy your  Clearwater Fishing Charters  in style. YACHTFISH only has newer model vessels equipped with state-of-the-art safety equipment, electronics, and fishing gear. The fleet is updated every few years and we maintain our equipment to be in “like new” condition.

Inshore and Near-Shore Equipment:  The three Avenger custom 25 bay boats with 300 horsepower each will skip across the flats effortlessly and handle choppy deeper water with ease. They are the perfect boat that is designed for inshore and near-shore charters.

Deep-Sea Equipment:  The Invincible custom 33 is powered by twin 300 Yamaha four stroke engines and has all the extras for serious deep-sea fishing. The Sea Vee 32 is a diesel workhorse for offshore fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and has an extremely smooth ride due to the location of the inboard engine. The CABO 40 Express is powered with twin 800 Mann diesels and boasts a 15′ 9″ beam with plenty of comfortable seating and all the comforts of home in the air-conditioned cabin. All three boats will provide the speed, reliability, comfort, and safety needed to get deep-sea fishing quickly and back to port safely with your boatload of fish.
