The Ackinclose Family

This was the holiday of a lifetime. When we returned, we immediately got off the boat and walked straight into the office to book again for the following year.

We had an absolute blast. And really the boat was the centre piece of that. It was everything we could have asked for; spacious, luxurious, comfortable, plenty of water storage and fridge/freezer space, room to spread out, great cooking facilities, plenty of lounging areas and a hot shower and comfy bed at the end of every day.

Perhaps most importantly it allowed us to ‘choose our own adventure’! This holiday had it all…. turquoise waters, swimming, snorkeling, fishing, isolated beaches, white sand, incredible walks, beach combing, whales, dolphins, turtles, tropical fish, and some high sea adventures! It’s one thing to visit the Whitsundays, it’s another altogether to holiday ON the Whitsundays. Being on the water 24/7 is an experience unlike any other… it was pure joy!

We loved being on our own (the perfect covid safe holiday really!), enjoying each others company and everyday being an adventure. Not to mention relaxing and unwinding with the most amazing scenery and sunsets. This is a holiday you and your children will remember forever!

Thank you again to the Whitsunday Escape Crew for another amazing experience in the magnificent Whitsundays. We had a wonderful 10 days onboard the Seawind 1260 Volare, which kicked off with a great brief by Amee who was very thorough and very knowledgeable about operating Volare safely.

Throughout the charter the support from the ops team is first rate. Whether you want to know where the best place to overnight for the conditions, or if you need some advice about the boat, they will always go the extra mile to ensure you have the best holiday possible. Shoutout to Jordans mobile outboard repairs that paid us a quick visit in Stonehaven to help sort us out.

The absolute highlight for this trip was the time we had all of Whitehaven Beach entirely to ourselves for a few hours on a sunny afternoon. A magical moment that is unlikely to be repeated.

We’re already booked in for our next charter with Whitsunday Escape over Christmas and can’t wait to get back up there.

About the tour.

Departing from Airlie Beach, Camira cruises past Whitsunday Island, passing Daydream, Hamilton and Hook islands en route. On Whitsunday Island’s east coast, Camira moors at the northern end of Whitehaven Beach, a 7km arc of dazzling white sand, regularly voted Australia’s best beach.

On a guided hike to Hill Inlet lookout, follow a path walked by the Whitsundays’ traditional owners, the Ngaro people. Back on the beach, swim and stroll along the shore before a BBQ lunch cooked and served on board. After lunch, you will head to one of the Whitsundays fringing reefs for some snorkelling before sailing back to shore.

Physical rating: Please be advised that a moderate level of fitness and agility is recommended for this experience, which includes bushwalking, snorkelling, and climbing in and out of tenders. High temperatures and humidity are possible, especially in the summer months.

*Please also note for any guests wanting to snorkel the fringing reef from Camira, you must have adequate swimming abilities as there are no flotation devices available.

With 6 cabins and 6 ensuites, forward cockpit feature and aft cockpit that leads straight to the hydraulic dingy and swim platform the Leopard 58 allows for even more living space for up to 12 people accommodating groups for family get-aways in mind or for the couple who want complete privacy but ample space.

A large open galley with full size fridge and freezer,  Nespresso coffee machine,  washer and dryer, water maker, air-conditioning and ample storage means longer cruising times without the need to re-provision back in port. The perfect way to enjoy a bareboat experience with a superyacht feel.

Thank you for the planning, attention to detail and assistance that helped to make our Charter holiday on Olivetta such a great one. The Sailing boat was great, sailed well and we felt at home from the start. We were all sad to see the entrance of the marina on our last day but we have a lot of great memories and a few extra kilos, having a chef on board help with the intake of great meals even when we thought the fridge was empty. We have some work to do now to shed these kilos before winter adds to them. Our overnight at Stonehaven was made so special with the visit from the local turtle giving us some great photo opportunities and the thrill of being up-close with such a special creature. We are looking forward to our next time up there with you guys.

Get into holiday mode with a Sunset Cruise

Sundowner is a fully covered, purpose built catamaran designed for socialising. Unlike a yacht, we have a flat surface and no trip hazards. There is ample room to move, and high heels are welcome.

Our Airlie Beach sunset cruise departs daily and circumnavigates Pioneer Bay. As we have very little draft we are able to get up close and personal to many points of interest along the Airlie Beach coastline and enjoy a bit of turtle spotting in Turtle Bay.

• To participate in this tour, guests need to be able to climb down steps and in and out of a small tender. Red Cat Adventures has limited mobility and wheelchair access
• This tour is not recommended for children under six years old. However, children under 6 years old must be approved before departure, and there are limitations regarding their participation in water activities. Children under six years old need to supply their lifejackets
• A pregnancy waiver must be signed before travel for all pregnant passengers. Red Cat Adventures is happy for anyone who has been approved by a doctor to be fit and healthy in their second trimester to travel. If you are in your first or third trimester, a doctor’s certificate is required before travelling. It is up to the skipper’s decision on the day they are happy for you to travel, depending on the weather conditions that day. Safety for mum and baby is highest priority
• Vessel may need to be substituted at any time without notice
• Cruises are weather-dependent and may be cancelled at the discretion of Red Cat Adventures for passenger and crew safety
• At certain times of the year dangerous jellyfish inhabit these waters. To minimise this risk, you will have a full-length protective snorkel suit to wear while swimming and snorkelling during the cruise. Passengers entering the water do so at their own risk

Bareboat means no crew – so just you, your family and your friends are the crew! – but never fear, the friendly and professional bareboat team will help you plan an itinerary perfectly tailored to your needs, as you carve out your own adventure amongst the islands, which are mostly uninhabited National Parks.

Whether you are after a secluded romantic getaway or a more adventure-packed holiday, you can enjoy the freedom of choosing your own route, and going at your own pace, as you discover untouched beaches and cascading waterfalls and scuba dive, snorkel and fish at your leisure.

With more than 40 anchorages, there is always a tranquil spot to lose yourself and at night you can gaze up at the endless expanse of starlit sky, sheltered from the breeze in an inlet or secluded bay.

You can choose a sailing yacht, a catamaran or a power cruiser, and you can go it alone or ask for a sail guide and hostess to accompany you. Vessels accommodate between two and 10 guests and are fully equipped with everything required for a comfortable stay – just bring your sunscreen, swimming gear, a hat and sunglasses… and a sense of adventure!

No licence is required for bareboating – you will receive a detailed and comprehensive briefing before you start - and help is only a call away on the VHF radio.

"Miss B" is brand new to our charter fleet, and will be arriving 1st August 2018. The yachts interior offers maximum comfort, with the living space and sunbathing area separated from the cockpit so there is plenty of space on this stunning yacht to enjoy every moment of your cruise. As a much-loved favourite in Airlie Beach, Camira boasts panoramic views where every seat is the best seat in the house! The comfortable and spacious 85-foot sailing catamaran is the perfect place to enjoy the wonderful sunsets of the Whitsundays, leaving guests to enjoy the warm breeze and azure waters. Sailing along the coastline of the small seaside village of Airlie Beach, it gives off a Mediterranean vibe, making for some incredible backdrops for photos. Guests must be able to show valid ID at check in to support their ticket type (i.e Senior ticket). If you cannot produce the valid identification to meet your ticket requirements, you will not be able to travel without paying a surcharge/difference in fare.

Children are not permitted on Camira Sunset. Guests must be 15 years + for this trip. Any guest under 18 years old requires a parent or guardian to accompany and supervise them for the entirety of the trip.

Children are not permitted on the Camira Sunset Sail. 

Your Responsibilities:

Please advise us before booking if any passengers are under 18 years old to ensure this is the appropriate trip. 

You must reconfirm all booked tours prior to travel as specified on your voucher. If applicable, notes such as dietary requirements, pick-up locations and additional fees should also be confirmed at this time. Reconfirmations cannot be actioned through Sailing Whitsundays/Mr Travel, and must be done so directly through the Service Operator as specified on each ticket.

It is your responsibility to notify us of ticket discrepancies. Please read through the details on your voucher thoroughly to ensure all details such as passenger names, ages and dates of travel on vouchers are correct.

It is the responsibility of all passengers travelling to advise both your travel agent at the time of booking and vessel check-in agent before boarding of any medical conditions including food allergies you may suffer from.

You need to allow adequate time to check-in prior to the specified departure time. 

Prices/Extra Costs:

All prices are stated in Australian dollars and include GST. Surcharges over peak holiday seasons may apply. 

The Service Operator reserves the right to alter prices and extra costs. Extra costs may include EMC fees, Stingersuit/Wetsuit Hire, Luggage Storage, Insurance, Linen Hire, National Park Fees, Fuel Levies, Dietary Fees, etc. Bonds may also apply.

We will also endeavour to communicate these extra costs with you at the time of booking, and on your ticket. However, it is your responsibility to confirm which (if any) additional costs apply with each Service Operator upon reconfirming your trip.

Travel Risk/Insurance:

It should be noted that adventure travel involves risk. Whilst we make every effort to safeguard clients, we cannot be responsible for personal injury or loss due to the actions of our clients which are beyond our control. We highly recommend that all clients have travel insurance covering illness, injury, loss or damage to personal belongings and not being able to travel on the confirmed date of departure. You should also ensure your travel insurance will cover special circumstances including weather events preventing guests from travelling to their tour departure destination and cancelled flights due to unforeseen circumstances. 

The Service Operator reserves the right to limit courtesy transfers to select local accommodations. Private residences or Airbnb properties may be asked to meet at the closest confirmed location. Failure to meet at the specified pick-up location may be treated as “No Show”, for which the Client Cancellation Policy applies.

Merchant Fees:

Please be aware operators pass on credit card merchant fees so there is a non-refundable 1% surcharge for VISA and MASTERCARD card purchases.

All ticket/voucher reissues attract a $20 administration fee.

Open Date Vouchers / Gift Certificate:

Shipping Costs are in addition to the ticket price and will be added at check-out. Shipping costs are non-refundable and do not makeup part of the ticket value. 

E-Vouchers incur no shipping fees. You have 5 years to use the value of the voucher. Seasonal Price Rises will apply if travelling out the current seasons pricing. Vouchers can be exchanged for free up to the full value of the voucher excluding credit card fees and charges.

Cancellations

Client Cancellations:

No shows or client cancellations made within 72 hours of departure forfeit 100% of the total ticket price. 

Transfers between tours can be made at the suppliers discretion, however, it should be noted that supplier fees may apply. Tour transfers also incur a $20 administration fee. 

It is compulsory that all cancellation requests are in writing and sent via email to [email protected]. Cancellations attempted via online chat or phone will not be actioned.

Supplier Cancellations:

The Service Operator reserves the right to alter prices, alter itineraries, apply a fuel surcharge, cancel departures, arrange alternative transport and vary itineraries and services if necessary.

All departures and itineraries are subject to weather. Tours may be changed or cancelled for any reason at the discretion of the Service Operator. If the Service Operator has to cancel the trip or activity (prior to departure) and we cannot offer a suitable alternative, then a refund will be given minus a 20% administration fee and any associated card fees. We strongly recommend that you have travel insurance, especially during the wet season.

In the unlikely event of your trip being cancelled or stood down, all guest communication is required to go through our Online Store via telephone or email. While there is a Sailing Whitsundays retail outlet located Airlie Beach, please be aware that they operate as a separate entity and are unable to access reservations made by the Mr Travel online department.

All refunds are in Australian Dollars and must be made to the card of payment. Sailing Whitsundays/Mr Travel is not liable for exchange rate fluctuations or fees, or any other merchant/bank fees associated with domestic and/or international transactions.

Where a full refund is applicable, there is the option to transfer the whole cost of the tour to another tour or “Credit” to avoid the administration fee. A transfer fee of $20 will apply.

You will be emailed confirmation once the refund has been processed. Once the refund has been processed, it may still take time for the banks to clear the amount. Please allow 7-10 business days for the funds to clear into Australian accounts and up to 21 business days for international accounts.

Accountability/Misconduct:

All Service Operators have the right to provide client feedback and to cancel bookings based off of feedback from other Service Operators.

Sailing Whitsundays/Mr Travel will treat this as any normal client cancellation and therefore the cancellation fees stated in the Client Cancellation Policy will apply.
