The Beneteau Oceanis 473 bareboat sailing yacht was designed by Groupe Finot who with this design offer a superb mixture of elegant stylish lines together with extraordinary interior space and performance. The 473 boasts a larger number of useful features and creature comforts than any other previous sail boat this size.The designers have managed to blend volume, comfort, sailing performance and elegance together to create the ultimate charter boat. The Beneteau Oceanis 473 offers a slender hull, a well-balanced sail plan, a standard deep keel, enhanced upwind performance, as well as excellent directional stability and helm balance when heeled over.Nota Bene is undergoing a refit on her teak deck this year which we are very excited about and will update our photos as soon as its finished.

Our 3rd charter of Nota Bene!

Another fantastic long weekend on Nota Bene with the Lads from Sutton Sailing Club. Thanks Matt and Alex we will be back next year , if not before.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

As a family, including our 4 year old Labrador, we recently chartered a 'bareboat' yacht from Hamble Point Charters for 7 days to cruise the Solent. The company were fantastic from our first enquiry to handing back the boat. The yacht was clean and well presented. A great week and we will happily use them again!

We have just had another wonderful week on a yacht we chartered from Hamble Point Yacht Charters. We have sailed several of their boats, this time it was a lovely 35 foot Bavaria. Chartering from HPYC is always an easy choice for us: the boats are well maintained, support is excellent, and the staff are always super friendly and helpful. On top of that, Hamble Point is such an ideal starting location for sailing around the Solent.

This is truly a 5 * service. The team really looked after us both ashore on arrival and also while at sea. We were a relatively inexperienced crew but always felt the team ashore had our backs. Thoroughly recommended.

I just wanted to say Thank-you very much for the weekend charter. It was exactly what we were after (albeit cold!) plus Andy was an awesome teacher and great company. We’ll definitely be keen to book again soon!

We had a fabulous four days. Marina is ideally placed for the Solent, boat was in great condition, well equipped and a joy to sail. We were well briefed and the shore side team including the dog very friendly.

We charted one of the sailing yachts for a fantastic weekend cruise in the Solent. The boat was in superb condition and well equipped, the staff was very helpful explaining how things work on the yacht and there was also a video available with all the important information. 10/10 would recommend!

Had a fantastic week chartering Blue Otter, Alex was incredibly helpful and sent loads of information and date checking prior to booking. There was a handover video and both the handover and return were really smooth. The boat was lovely and well maintained and Lee was really helpful in recommending places to visit (and helping identify the steering issue as an autopilot takeover - doh!). Definitely will be back and would fully recommend!

Just back from a lovely week in the Solent. Great service from HPYC from first inquiry through to return handover. Very straightforward to deal with, and the yacht was in excellent condition. We've chartered from many companies in the UK and abroad and the attention to detail (and flawless inventory!) was second to none. Everything about the yacht and equipment had clearly been well looked after and was in immaculate condition. Great service, will use again.

We had a great time sailing with Lee for a few days at the beginning of September. Hamble Point Yacht Charters supplied us an impeccable 45 ft Hanse yacht, which was handled with complete mastery by Captain Lee.It was a privilege to sail with Lee, who is clearly a highly skilled professional taking great pride in his work ... but who is also a fantastic character with a great sense of humour and plenty of fun stories to keep the whole family entertained. He balances the serious side of safety and learning about sailing with a whopping dose of amusement and good cheer. We sailed the Solent in some decent seas, visited Bucklers Hard on the banks of the Beaulieu River and learned lots about British nautical history. Our boys started somewhat of a fishing trend catching bass off the back of the boat in Portsmouth and we would love to sail with Lee again in the future.The man truly knows his stuff, maintained the boat impeccably and went to every effort to ensure that we had a great time. Many thanks to “Shippers” and Hamble Point Charters. We’ll be back.

As summer approaches, we are once again drawn to the magic of the Greek islands - each with its own unique character and flavour. From the mountainous Cyclades in the central Aegean, where cerulean blue waters shimmer against cube-shaped white houses, to the verdant Ionian islands west of the mainland with their pebble beaches, olive trees and calm waters ideal for sailing.

Mykonos is the ultimate party island with its up-tempo beach clubs, super prime villas, and lively restaurant scene, whereas smaller Antiparos, popular with the art crowd who have built some beautiful villas on the island, is quieter and lower in profile. ​ ​ In the eastern Aegean, the Dodecanese islands hug the Turkish Riviera coastline, including delightful Symi, with its pastel-coloured homes and charming harbour. ​Nearby Patmos is frequented by creatives and the fashion crowd who gather in Chora for the summer. ​ We love the Ionian islands of Paxos and Antipaxos, together with tiny Ithaca, which is the location of one of the most beautiful privately owned villas for rent and overlooks the bay of Vathi.​ ​ A 30-minute helicopter hop to Athens, the Peloponnese peninsula in the south, with its ancient sites of Corinth, Sparta, and Mycenae, offers a world-class hotel and private villas at Porto Heli. From here, the nearby islands of Spetses and Hydra are a perfect day trip by private yacht charter. ​

The secret to a successful Greece trip is this… ​ Firstly, the month of the year.

May through mid-July are perfect (particularly May and June before the school holidays begin). The islands spring back to life after the winter lull, restaurants and little boutique shops stay open late into the evening, the weather is hot but still bearable, and the water is perfect for swimming.

Getting around Greece is the next point of consideration. To maximise time and ease of travel, we always suggest chartering a helicopter between the mainland and islands or sailing by private boat. The latter is best in September once the Meltemi winds have subsided. Hopping between islands is effortless in an Airbus helicopter – Folegandros to Antiparos takes just over fifteen minutes, and on to Mykonos in the same amount of time.

Lastly, where to go and what to see.

At the crossroads between ancient and modern, the majestic city of Athens never fails to impress with its magnificent relics, monuments and museums combined with leafy avenues, cobbled shopping streets, café culture and vibrant seafront.

Spend a few nights in an Acropolis-facing suite in the city’s most stylish boutique hotel for a few days of culture before exploring the Peloponnese and sailing to the beautiful islands of Hydra and Spetses. With extra time, charter a yacht and visit some of the smaller islands of the Cyclades, such as Folegandros, Sifnos and Antiparos.

Those seeking a little more action shouldn’t overlook Mykonos. Yes, it has its clichés – it’s pricey and sometimes pretentious – yet there’s an energy and sense of fun to the island.

A successful trip depends on who advises you, how well they know the island, and how closely they are connected to villa and boat owners, hotel managers, restaurateurs, boat crews, and people who can make things happen.

Like all the world’s jetset hotspots, you need to know you have the right tables booked at the right time, sun loungers secured at the most fashionable beach clubs, spectacular accommodation, an excellent boat captain, and that all the logistics are covered seamlessly.

That means no queues, no waiting around… just being able to step off your boat onto a jetty, be seated for lunch at the perfect table, and be waited on by people who know your name and will go above and beyond to make sure you have the best time.

If you choose Nota Bene, letting us guide you through all the details—a day visiting Delos, a charming restaurant on the square at Ano Mera, or lunch overlooking the ocean alongside the small church at Aghios Ioannis—you can still find authenticity, style, and “the good life” on Mykonos.

But make no mistake, it’s easy to go wrong and end up having the complete opposite experience. At these prices, bad decisions and flimsy advice are a serious blow and a waste of time. Your choices really count here!

What all these experiences (both real and virtual) address, say the designers, is the universal shortage of time—or rather, attempting to construct it in the most creative ways.

“We make three days feel like seven,” says Anthony Lassman, founder of London-based Nota Bene. “Everything rests on time management, careful planning and transportation.” Lassman’s client list includes celebrity designers like Michael Kors, but most are UHNW individuals who pay Nota Bene an annual fee for insider access to the most beautiful spots on the French Riviera, Amalfi Coast, and remote Greek islands, often aboard chartered superyachts .

One recent yacht trip on the French Riviera was designed around both the clients’ wish list and Nota Bene’s knowledge of the area, beginning with visits to the Lerins Islands, Porquerolles and Port Cros, followed by a limousine trip from Toulon-Hyere to Chateau la Coste for a private tour of the pavilions designed by architect Frank Gehry. Then came dinner at the Michelin-star restaurant Helene Darroz and an overnight at the classic Villa la Coste.

Because of the clients’ love of wine and art, Nota Bene organized stops to several of Provence’s most hard-to-access vineyards, along with a private tour of the Foundation Vincent Van Gogh in Arles, led by the organization’s curator. That excursion was followed by a helicopter trip to meet the yacht in Saint-Tropez for the overnight trip to Corsica.

Beyond the curated itinerary, another company employs a much broader definition for creating wild, one-of-a-kind experiences aboard a yacht—such as designing a loud, realistic virtual World War II battle near the vessel using augmented reality and other emerging technologies or, at the other extreme, hosting a nighttime fashion show aboard the yacht, with the models moving lithely on catwalks on specially built jetties surrounding the mothership.

“We are turning fashion into theater on the superyacht,” says Andrew Grant Super, founder of London-based Berkeley Rand. “The idea is to create a private fashion show that turns into an experiential one-off event for the guests, with private unseen collections and haute couture fashion brands collaborating with us.”

To create the unique look, the company will use swarm-drone lighting that dramatically changes the looks of the models, from bright technicolor to black-and-white silhouettes.

Or how about a pop-up restaurant on a desert island, so the owners can enjoy Michelin-caliber dining in a pristine setting? Super says the design of the 3-D-printed café can be tailored specifically to the yacht’s location. The restaurant in the image above is designed specifically for a remote sand shelf in the Maldives. “It was designed to match the unique curves of the yacht,” he says. The company also has a private floating nightclub concept to rival any Ibiza hotspot.

Immersive’s previous yacht projects have included creating content for a fully automatic nightclub, with artwork in rooms that transform over time. “The process uses 3-D software, photography, and AI integration to create time-based artworks that change over days and weeks,” says cofounder John Munro.

The firm has also focused on specific journeys for yacht owners by capturing scenes using 360-degree virtual reality, both above and below the ocean. It then transforms these images into an immersive memory tailor-made for the client.

Immersive is taking the concept a step farther with what it calls a “dream machines” experience. Individuals can share their dreams, and later in the day, an animated film is ready with interpretive content based on the individual’s narrative.

Talk about an intimate and bespoke experience—with free therapy thrown in on the side.

Little things. Dingy engine was weak and stopped working while on the sea. Shower cable was broken and flooded the bildge pump. Great support over the phone (Nicola). Overall, All inclusive package is a great idea. We have really enjoyed Croatia and Navigare Yachting and we will back. Keep on doing what you are good at!

A bareboat charter or demise charter is an arrangement for the chartering or hiring of a ship or boat, whereby no crew or provisions are included as part of the agreement; instead, the people who rent the vessel from the owner are responsible for taking care of such things. We are happy to arrange bareboat charters for qualified sailors who choose to go it alone. However, our specialty is to help you connect with knowledgeable captains and competent crew members to enhance your sailing experience by organizing your provisioning, planning your sailing itineraries, helping you manage meals and the galley and keeping you safe during your sailing adventure.
