About Sibelle

Sibelle has been fully designed in-house by Feadship. The hull engineering is by Azure Naval Architects, while the exterior and interior design are by Studio De Voogt. The exterior profile is bold with a muscular reverse sheer to the bow. Chiselled contours and dark horizontal strip windows lend the yacht a poise and grace. The interior design by Studio De Voogt is simple yet sophisticated and based on natural tones, light wood veneers and organic forms for an ambience that is soberly tasteful but also informal and welcoming.

Designed and built for an experienced owner, the interior layout was tailored to his family’s specific needs and provides ensuite accommodation for ten guests in three lower deck cabins, one VIP suite on the bridge deck, and a master stateroom on the main deck forward.

SIBELLE’s exterior is a showcase of thoughtful styling cues and engineering precision. Her understated yet distinct look is highlighted by bands of wraparound glass, which add a unique, modern touch. This design feature cleverly plays with perception, creating an illusion of parallel lines that are, in reality, subtly angled for aesthetic impact.

As a 50-metre fully custom motor yacht, SIBELLE strikes a careful balance between size and functionality. Her aluminium hull and superstructure ensure robustness while remaining below the 500 gross tonne mark.

With a range of 3,150 nautical miles, she is more than capable of crossing oceans, yet her size remains within a comfortable scale. This basic design philosophy affords her Owner the versatility to access smaller bays, effortlessly delivering the best of both worlds.

While she boasts a range to rival a fully-fledged expedition yacht, her 237 square metres of outdoor space provides plenty of elbow room for decadent alfresco living. The teak panelled decks and open-plan outdoor areas embody a light, airy ambiance, inviting guests relax and enjoy their surroundings, while the intimate beach club, a sublime venue for a dip in the sea or starlit supper, is truly the cherry on top.

Beyond her aesthetic appeal, SIBELLE is a powerhouse of performance. Equipped with twin diesel MTU 8-cylinder engines, and Fast Displacement Hull Form, she can reach a maximum speed of 18.5 knots and cruises comfortably at 15 knots.

Her durable aluminium hull and superstructure make her particularly hard-wearing for more rugged adventures, with her advanced hydraulic powered mooring and thruster systems ensuring smooth manoeuvrability under any circumstances.

The yacht’s generators have also been upgraded to 120KW engines with electrical windings. These generators, fitted with hydrogen injection systems, ensure clean and efficient operation, reducing her running emissions, and aligning with contemporary sustainable cruising.

The exterior profile is bold with a muscular reverse sheer to the bow. Chiseled contours and dark horizontal strip windows lend the yacht a poise and grace. “The main theme of the yacht is strength,” says Jan Schaffers, senior designer at Studio De Voogt. “The radii throughout are larger than usual to emphasize this. At the same time we aimed to focus on the length of the yacht by creating uninterrupted lines, for instance in the widebody windows and the superstructure. Together this creates a very unique character.” Designed and built for an experienced owner, the interior layout was tailored to his family’s specific needs and provides ensuite accommodation for ten guests in three lower deck cabins, one VIP suite on the bridge deck, and a master stateroom on the main deck forward. The interior design by Studio De Voogt is simple yet sophisticated and based on natural tones, light wood veneers and organic forms for an ambience that is soberly tasteful but also informal and welcoming.

Complex simplicity

Sibelle’s exterior lines are by Frank Laupman from Omega architects, assisted in the refinement of the design details by Mikhail Labazov and Andrei Savin from Architectural Bureau A-B Studio. The complex simplicity oxymoron epitomizes in two words the philosophy that led the design team in the development of this project. Sibelle’s elegant exterior lines are emphasized by contrasting bands of wraparound glass that give her a very distinctive look. The exterior lines look like they are running parallel, but in reality they are not! It is all about small adjustments that give an impression of parallelism to the eye.

Sibelle is a 50 metre fully custom motor yacht, below 500 Gross Tonnage with an aluminum hull and superstructure. Large enough to offer her owner and his guests everything they need without compromise, whilst being small enough to allow plenty of freedom to anchor in bays with crystal clear water.

Motor Yacht

The revolutionary Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDFH) developed by famous Dutch naval architects Van Oossanen and Associates allows significant improvements in fuel efficiency. Thanks to the FDHF’s low resistance characteristics, YN 16750 can reach a maximum speed of 18,5 knots with only two 1.000kW MTUs installed.

Hence an ocean-crossing range is achieved with minimal fuel capacity; only 45.000 litres are required to comfortably transit the Atlantic, leaving plenty of reserve. Perry van Oossanen, naval architect at VOA, comments: “Modest propeller tunnels have been defined allowing for 1,5m diameter propellers. The hull will be fitted with Quantum XT zero-speed fins, and bilge keels, allowing for a maximum reduction in roll angle when at anchor. The design of the hull, the appendages and the propulsion arrangement have been focused on obtaining the best fuel efficiency possible, without sacrificing performance and comfort when running in waves.” Carrying less fuel also means that the yacht is lighter which further improves efficiency. And the benefits don’t end there; the space saved by having smaller fuel tanks has been reallocated to provide the crew with valuable storage volume under the crew mess.

The cosy and inviting interior décor will be based on the colour contrast between swamp oak panelling and dark joinery details. Ten guests can be accommodated in five cabins. 61 square metres are dedicated to the master suite, traditionally located forward on the main deck, which boasts two separate dressing rooms, each with a private ensuite bathroom. The four guest cabins (two VIP and two twins) all have ensuite bathrooms and are positioned on the lower deck. Beyond their cabins, guests can enjoy 237 square metres of outdoor living space. The main and rescue tenders are placed on the fore deck under way, while the toys are stored in the forward garage. This configuration allows the aft part of the yacht to be used as a large (21,5 square metre) beach club equipped with sauna and hammam. The design of YN 16750 proves that high speed cruising can be achieved without sacrificing either luxury or efficiency.

50m Heesen yacht Sibelle listed for sale

The 50 metre Heesen yacht, Sibelle has been listed for sale with Ocean Independence by Marco Vandoni.

Delivered in 2015, the custom yacht features Heesen ’s Fast Displacement Hull Form with a striking plumb bow. She is booked to be on display at the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show.

Designed by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects and Studio AB , her unique profile demanded a dedicated study to ensure course-keeping could be maintained as well as comfortable sailing in any sea state with her updated profile. This included tank testing at the Wolfson Unit MTIA, with a free running self-propelled model, ultimately proving the comfort and high-performance abilities of the hull design.

The yacht's interiors, which were also designed by Omega Architects with AB Studio serving as the interior design adviser, are light and contemporary with neutral tones and natural textures throughout. She can accommodate 10 guests in five cabins, including the 61-square-metre full-beam owner's suite, which is traditionally positioned on the main deck forward. She also features a well-appointed beach club, connected to the main saloon and has a sauna and swim platform.

Outside is where the yacht truly comes into her own with 237 square metres of space and a foredeck that transforms into a party area when the rescue tenders are launched.

Sibelle can reach a maximum speed of 18.5 knots powered by twin 1,00kW MTU 8V 4000 M63 engines, allowing transatlantic range while burning minimal fuel, leaving plenty in reserve after arriving at the destination. Her range is 3,150 nautical miles at 13 knots.

Having has just one owner since her launch, Sibelle remains in pristine condition and is available for viewings in Antibes prior to her display at the Monaco Yacht Show.

First Look: 75m Feadship "Project 822"

Feadship enthusiasts have reason to celebrate as the highly anticipated Feadship Project 822 , also known as Project Hanami, recently made her first appearance to the public over the weekend. 

Measuring 75.70 m (248 ft) in length, this large-volume superyacht showcases the exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail that Feadship is renowned for. With exterior design by the esteemed British firm RWD and interior design collaboration between RWD and Susan Young Interiors, she is bound to be a sight to behold.

Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects lent their expertise in naval architecture to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. Once the motor yacht  left its construction shed her stylish mast was installed by crane, and final touches can now be made over the next few weeks before she sets off on her sea trials.

While specific details about Project 822 remain shrouded in secrecy, one thing is certain - this yacht is set to redefine luxury on the open seas. Scheduled for delivery in 2023, just in time for the winter yachting season.

Project 822 marks the third major launch for Feadship this year, following the highly acclaimed Feadship SIBELLE , measuring 67.4m (221ft), which made its debut in March, and the awe-inspiring 84.2m (276ft)  OBSIDIAN , unveiled in April.

Feadship continues to raise the bar in the world of luxury yachting, consistently delivering exceptional vessels that captivate the imagination of both owners and charter enthusiasts alike.
