DESCRIPTION
Elizabethan 23, 'Mistress Quickly', is a masthead sloop sailing yacht with a long straight ballast keel and centreboard.
The Elizabethan 23 was the most compact in the range of cruisers built by Elizabethan Yachts of Southampton. Like her larger sisters, she combined seaworthiness and performance with a stylish design. In powder blue with white topsides this Elizabethan 23 'Mistress quickly' is an extremely pretty boat.
The hull design offers a stiff hull with a long straight ballast keel and centreboard to allow access to shallower waters. With centre board down the draft is nearly 5' but with te board up she only draw 2'5".
Her masthead rig provides a sail area of 276 sq.ft which provides lively but entirely manageable performance.
Below are four berths, galley with spirit burning hobs, sink and discreet sea toilet.
'Mistress Quickly' boasts an extensive inventory including a low hours nearly new (two years) Tohatsu 6hp outboard engine (mounted in a stern well).
A picturesque mooring at the sought after Emsworth Yacht Harbour may also be available for the buyer of this yacht.
This yacht is priced very competitively at £3,750 and will provide the buyer with excellent sailing and great value. N.B Please note her exact year of launch is not known so the year shown is an estimate.

Broker's Comments
The smallest Elizabethan, she was designed by Webster and David Thomas in 1969. She is a particularly pretty yacht, looking like a scaled-down offshore cruiser-racer of her day, with long overhangs but a lifting keel. She is very stable but can also be quite quick in a decent breeze.
'Lazy Jack' is a currently stored ashore, with sails and running rigging removed for preservation of condition.
The boat comes with 5hp near new Honda outboard, beaching legs and plastic coach roof cover.
If looks and decent sailing performance, rolled in to a small and easily managed package appeals, this well presented example, offered at a very reasonable price if definitely worth considering.

Broker's Comments
A much loved yacht the Elizabethan 23 was commended to me by the owner, as ‘seaworthy, fast under sail and classic in appearance’. With the lifting keel configuration she can explore shallow harbours with relative ease but still perform well to the wind. She is in need of some cosmetic tidying up but once done will be a lovely boat for her new owner. And at this price she is a bargain.
