Provincetown’s Crown & Anchor has been a hub of entertainment since the turn of the 20th century. Their venue spaces include the Cabaret, where many of the town’s top drag queens perform, and The Dive Bar (formerly the Restaurant Bar), known to locals and visitors alike for its nightly piano revue. Headliner Bobby Wetherbee is a Ptown icon who has entertained crowds for more than six decades with singalong favorites from Broadway and beyond. The Cotuit Center for the Arts keeps the beat going all year long, with musical acts ranging from an in-house a cappella group and burlesque shows to Broadway musicals and Wine Wednesdays, a gallery open house with wine and live music. And  Cape Cod’s very own professional orchestra, the Cape Symphony , presents rousing year-round performances of everything from Broadway classics to popular movie soundtracks  at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center in Hyannis.

The music doesn’t stop when summer ends, though. Harvest Gallery Wine Bar off 6A in Dennis combines the best things in life with craft spirits, local art and a thoughtful menu enhanced with live music that includes jazz, bossa nova, country and soul. Falmouth is home to Liam Maguire’s Irish Pub , where a revolving lineup of performers keeps the beat going, including the soulful Daniel Byrnes, who takes the stage for the resrtaurant's Sunday brunch. Also in Falmouth, Bad Martha’s Farmer's Brewery has an expansive patio with a firepit and plenty of seating. Enjoy one of their craft beers plus a bite to eat as you listen to live music every weekend during happy hour.

At The Club in Provincetown, you’ll find not only sweeping harbor views from the alfresco patio dining, but also live music six nights a week. Dance the night away on The Club’s state-of-the-art infinity dance floor. Cape Cod Coffee’s location on Route 130 in Mashpee features live music from local artists often on weekends.The restaurant (pictured above) features a spacious outdoor area where entertainers perform, and offers a full menu of coffee drinks, noshable dishes, craft beers and classic cocktails. Other great spots to air out those dancing shoes to live music are The Chatham Squire , Scally's Irish Ale House in Yarmouth, the Boatslip in Provincetown and Cleat & Anchor in Dennis Port.

Downtown Hyannis hosts a series of live music concerts all summer at Aselton Park on the Hyannis waterfront, along with a weekly jazz stroll and the popular a cappella group Hyannis Sound on Friday evenings. There’s nothing better than live music on the beach, and at the Orleans Summer Live Music Series , listeners can chill on Nauset Beach while listening to the sounds of bluegrass, country and classic rock while enjoying fare from local food trucks. And concertgoers will give a standing ovation to Great Music on Sundays @5, Provincetown’s longest-running concert series at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House of Provincetown on Commercial Street. Last, but certainly not least, Friday nights at the bandstand are a nearly 90-year-old tradition in Chatham, where the Chatham Town Outdoor Band (pictured above) has been performing for guests since the 1930s at Kate Gould Park. Arrive early, because there are plenty of things to do before or after the concert, from visiting a downtown Chatham restaurant to strolling the town fish pier.

180 Ocean st, Hyannis is the address for the harbor. The parking at the harbor is town parking. You pay at the pay stations. Plan to park 30 minutes before departure. Boarding begins 15 minutes prior to departure. We board at slip #1, directly across the street from the Black Cat Restaurant.

You don’t need to print tickets. Just check in with your name and you will get boarding passes.

If we cancel.

Each cruise requires a minimum of 6 passengers to depart. In extreme weather conditions, we may cancel. We do not consider rain extreme weather. If cruise is cancelled due to weather or too few passengers, your reservation will be refunded in full.

If You Cancel

If you need to cancel a reservation, you will receive a full refund, less a $3.00 cancellation fee, up to the day before departure at 5:00pm. On or after the date of departure, reservations are non-refundable. Please call to reschedule your trip for a future date.

It is our goal to provide our guests with an enjoyable experience. 
If weather conditions occur that will make the trip unacceptable for our guests, we will call the number you provide to cancel the tour. If this happens, we will try to put you on the first available excursion after the weather clears.

Truro Select Board Postpones Taking of Truro Motor Inn

It is unclear who should receive $1.6 million in ‘just compensation’.

TRURO — The select board decided at its Aug. 27 meeting to table a motion that would have executed the taking by eminent domain of the now-empty Truro Motor Inn at 296 Route 6.

Town meeting voters had approved the taking by a large majority on May 5, and the select board’s printed motion would have allowed the payment of $1.6 million from the town’s Dennis Family Gift Account to compensate the owners of the 36-room motel.

Town officials said it is still unclear exactly who should receive compensation for the property, however — the cause of the current delay.

“We’ve heard from town counsel that there are some issues with the ownership of the property — that there are legal issues that need to be researched,” said select board chair Sue Areson. “So, we’re not quite ready to go forward with this.”

“If we don’t know the owner, we don’t know who to hand the check to,” said Town Manager Darrin Tangeman.

The property is part of the estate of the late Daniel Delgizzi, who in 2019 controlled about 100 units of housing on the Outer Cape, including the 36 rooms at the Truro Motor Inn. Delgizzi died in August 2020 , and the current ownership of the inn, which he started building in 1959 , is apparently still unclear.

Tangeman told the Independent on Aug. 27 that the question of who should be paid for the property would need to be settled in probate court. As of that date, however, there was no case in probate court to resolve the beneficiary status of Delgizzi’s estate.

“The personal representative named in a will or an heir-at-law would initiate probate,” Tangeman said on Sept. 3. “As of right now, town counsel and I are discussing the next steps.”

Daniel’s son, David, and David’s wife, Carolyn Delgizzi , of Weston had been operating the property, renting it out long-term to tenants starting in 2015 .

A series of failed inspections in 2018 initiated a slew of repair orders from the town. The Delgizzis did not make those repairs, and the town took the owners to housing court in 2019 to seek a court-appointed receiver to manage the property. The motel rooms were not of legal size for permanent lodgings, however, and between 2020 and 2023 , the 50 or so tenants who had occupied the property were forced to leave.

And we play all kinds of events. From very small restaurant gigs, to beachy happy hours to fine dining crazy rocking weddings. If you’re looking at us for a wedding, keep in mind that we don’t play all of these songs at those kind of events. We concentrate on what songs are appropriate for the specific type of event we’re doing. And we aren’t aware of another band either on Cape Cod or in all of Massachusetts with this kind of play-list to draw from.

One person has died after a boat crash in Old Saybrook Monday night, two others are missing and five people are in the hospital. The search for the two missing men was suspended overnight and will resume Wednesday morning.

Nine people were on the 31-foot motorboat that struck a jetty at the mouth of the Connecticut River around 9:15 p.m. Monday while returning from Block Island, according to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection EnCon Police.

Several 911 calls came in about the crash and rescue crews found the boat half submerged and significantly damaged.

One man was found dead in the vessel and six people were taken to the hospital, according to DEEP. One person is in critical condition, Captain Keith Williams, of Connecticut Environmental Police, said Tuesday morning. They believe that person was driving the boat, but they have not confirmed that.

Williams said he believes one person has been released from the hospital. The extent of the injuries the others sustained has not been released.

The investigation is ongoing, but Williams said they believe all nine people are friends who went to Block Island for the day.

The capsized boat was recovered from the river on Tuesday and it was pulled from the water around 11:30 a.m.

Williams said Tuesday morning that the tide was coming in when the boat crashed.

Multiple agencies, including police and fire crews from several nearby towns, the State Police Dive Unit, and a helicopter from the U.S. Coast Guard station on Cape Cod were searching and the search was suspended overnight.

It resumed Tuesday morning and continued for the majority of the day before suspending at 7:30 p.m.
