And in this case, it is not only about looks, the Aelos P45 is a full carbon racer, or racer/cruiser, with specifications that will make it an incredibly fast boat. The P45 follows the smaller, also full carbon, P30 that is already in the water, with 5 other boats in production.

The P45 is a relatively narrow sailboat with a 13.6m HL and a 3.9 beam with, a huge 49.4 B/D, a big 2.9m draft, a high-performance torpedo lead keel in a carbon foil, and 200kg water ballast. There is an option for a lifting keel with a 2.9m draft, that can be raised to 1,6 m and that will allow the Aelos to enter any port or marina, and will give it a much bigger polyvalence as a racer-cruiser.
It can be offered with a tiller set up or with two wheels and, independently, with one or two-rudder setup, depending on the type of use you give the boat. The single rudder has a better performance with light winds, being maximized for 12kts, the twin rudder is maximized for 20kts wind.
As for motorization, it a small electric motor is used with the support of a Honda generator. A bit curious about the type of generator and how it will work safely, but this system can surely be upgraded to a better one if cruising is also intended.
It offers a good cruising interior, with a big longitudinal galley, a huge forward cabin, two small one's aft and two heads, both near the forward cabin. It seems to me that an exclusively 2 cabin version would be more interesting, allowing for two big cabins, each one with a dedicated head, more storage space.
The interior of the Swan 50 is beautiful, by all accounts, luxurious, but not as practical as it could be, the one of the Shogun 50 is chic, but with lower design quality and a doubtful taste, the one from the Aspect 45 remains to be seen, as well as this one.

SCINTILLA MARIS for charter
Originally delivered in 1988 by the Dutch shipyard Maaskant, SCINTILLA MARIS is a 45.6m (149.6ft) full-custom rebuilt expedition yacht with a thickened steel hull built to RINA classification. During an extensive four year rebuild at Damen Maaskant, SCINTILLA MARIS was stripped down to bare steel, fully modernised and rebuilt in the owner’s vision. Maintaining her original exterior lines shows off her heritage, while a step into the interior and technical spaces reveals a fully modernised expedition yacht capable of extensive autonomous cruising with a 9,000nm range at nine knots.
Naval architecture and exterior design is by Damen Maaskant, with the new interior designed by Dutch studio Vripack. SCINTILLA MARIS was conceived and optimised for long distance ocean-going performance. Her newly designed hybrid-electric propulsion and harbour generator were installed to comply with Tier-III regulations, reduce the yacht’s footprint and minimise noise and vibration.
SCINTILLA MARIS delivers incredible views from her sun deck. Underneath the protective hardtop, there is an al fresco dining area complete with BBQ station and full-service bar. On the bridge deck there is a heated Portuguese bridge in front of the wheelhouse with a thermostatic seating area that uses heat recovered from the generators, and aft there are teak-laid banquettes facing fore and aft. Midships on the main deck the hull plating was reconfigured to provide direct access to the water on both port and starboard sides, giving guests an intimate connection with the ocean and ease of access to and from the water.
Inside the bridge deck is an intimate lounge with U-shaped seating and direct access to the helm station. The completely reconfigured bridge has been fully modernised and serves as both a highly technical operating space and a comfortable place for guest observation during long cruises.
The main deck has a welcoming open galley, concepted as a relaxed gathering space for meals and post-exploration lounging. Forward the main deck lounge is a warm and welcoming seating area for guests with forward views.
She welcomes 10 guests in five cabins as well as nine crew. All cabins are located on the lower deck, with four guest cabins forward. Aft is a massive full-beam owner’s cabin aft featuring huge ceiling heights and large skylights, bringing ample natural light into her warm interior.

The 45 handles Alaskan waters with the same powerful equanimity with which she navigates the Florida keys: with a quiet grace backed up by instant escapeability. She offers 3 different helm stations — the main helm in the lower cabin, an upper deck helm on the Flybridge, and an additional helm station in the aft cockpit which is ideal for fishing, crabbing, docking, or any other piloting situations.
Luxury reigns in the interior salon where you will find a ceiling-mounted entertainment center with an LCD TV and sound system to add to the enjoyment of any day or night’s cruise. A comfortable settee with under-seat storage converts to an additional berth, and the well-equipped galley features a Nova Cool refrigerator with built-in freezer compartment, stove top, microwave/convection oven and Quartz countertops. E-Plex® switching and monitoring puts her controls at your fingertips, as does her IPS Joystick, for ease of handling.

Aspect45 is an improved version of Aspect40.
