Built in 2004, Nita K II boasts a multitude of decks ideal for relaxation and entertainment indoors or outdoors, ensuring guests will live la dolce vita on the open waters.

Guest Accommodation

Nita K II offers guest accommodation for up to 12 guests in 5 suites comprising a master suite, two double cabins and two twin cabins. There are 5 beds in total, including 1 king, 4 queen and 4 singles. She is also capable of carrying up to 13 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

On your charter, you'll find plenty to keep you busy and entertained, notably a gym with all the latest equipment to maintain your fitness routine. Retreat to the deck jacuzzi and soak up the scenery.

Whatever your activities on your charter, you'll find some impressive features are seamlessly integrated to help you, notably Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to stay connected at all times, should you wish. You can stay comfortable on board whatever the weather, with air conditioning during your charter.

Performance & Range

Nita K II is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Powered by twin Cummins engines, she comfortably cruises at 12 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 15 knots with a range of up to 5,000 nautical miles from her 118,000 litre fuel tanks at 11 knots. Nita K II features at-anchor stabilizers providing exceptional comfort levels.

Onboard Nita K II has a large selection of toys and accessories to keep you and your guests entertained on the water throughout your stay. Principle among these are waterslides bringing a sense of fun that all the family can enjoy. Take to the sea on the Jet Skis offering you power and control on the water. Additionally, there are two towable toys offering fun and adventure. If that isn't enough Nita K II also features waterskis, a seabob, wakeboards, kayaks, fishing equipment and much more. When it comes to Tenders, Nita K II has you covered - with two tenders, including a 11.6m/38'1" Boston Whaler Tender.

With a timeless, Dutch pedigree, NITA K II was built in 2004 by Amels, with refits in 2012, and 2016. Featuring classic exterior styling by Terence Disdale, and an exceptionally detailed interior design and decor by Alberto Pinto and Laura Sessa, generous accommodations are for 12 guests in 5 staterooms. The full-beam master stateroom offers an extensive, his-and-hers en suite, walk-in wardrobes, and an adjoining lounge or office for the ultimate in privacy.

Four spacious, king guest staterooms are below, 2 of which are VIPs that offer large, jetted tubs and oversized showers. Expansive social areas can be enjoyed both inside, and on her outstanding, well-planned exterior decks that feature several seating, dining, and lounging options on all three outdoor levels.

Motor Yacht NITA K II sleeps up to 12 guests in 5 staterooms with an additional, separate accommodations for the crew. The Master stateroom is full beam on the main deck with his and hers bathrooms. There are two VIP staterooms with Jacuzzi bathtubs in each bathroom and then two aft staterooms with showers in each bathroom. A Pullman has been added to each of the aft staterooms.

There is a sleeper sofa in the Master Lounge area to allow for additional sleeping options.

WEEKLY CHARTER RATE SUMMER 2024: High Season (July & August): €275,000 + APA + VAT Low Season (Other periods): €250,000 + APA + VAT

Summer Operating Areas 2024: Croatia, Ionian Islands

Crew Gratuity: Although discretionary, a crew gratuity of 20% of the charter fee is customary.

CYBA/MYBA terms will apply.

APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance): APA is an estimate (usually 30% of the charter rate) paid with the balance for covering running costs during the charter (food, drinks, fuel, mooring fees, and anything else that guests might need while on charter). Final accounts will be produced by the Captain at the end of the charter and any unused funds will be refunded in full to the Charterer directly. If the funds are not sufficient, the Captain will advise the Charterer accordingly and bills will be settled upon disembarkation.

Taxes: Charter rates will be subject to varying rates of tax within the EC waters. Tax is not included in the listed charter rates. Local taxes may also occur in certain places outside the EC. Some yachts under commercial Registry may be zero rated for tax. Please ask us for the most up to date information about the yacht and the cruising area you are interested in.

Payment conditions: 50% of the charter rate within 7 days of signing the charter agreement, remaining 50% plus VAT plus APA, at least 5 weeks before the beginning of the charter.

Crew Profiles: CAPTAIN ǀ Brian Muston With over 25 years of time at sea and uncountable nautical miles cruised, Brian is an extremely experienced and knowledgeable captain. He originally hails from South Africa and spent his childhood living on a sail boat in St. Maarten with his family. From there it was a natural progression to transition into a lifelong career on the water, starting as a surf instructor and moving on to captaining boats. He has cruised the waters of the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Bahamas extensively. He has a true passion for this life and goes above and beyond to make all charters aboard Nita K II a success.

FIRST OFFICER ǀ Leigh Love Leigh grew up in and around the ocean in a small coastal town in South Africa called Knysna. She was involved in different sports representing her school in golf, squash and field hockey, along with playing provincial field hockey for her state. Leigh was blessed to have fantastic parents who always encouraged her to follow her dreams and strive for the best. When she was 21 she moved to Cape Town where she studied tourism and qualified as the youngest Tour Guide in South Africa. She always loved traveling and meeting new people, so yachting seemed like the perfect job. She has been in the industry for 16 years working her way up the ladder and recently completed her 3000 ton Masters license. She has worked on high profile charter vessels including M/Y Dream (60m), M/Y Remember When (50m) and M/Y Nero (90m).

SECOND OFFICER ǀ Greg Love Greg grew up on the southeast Queensland coast of Australia. His hobbies included camping and sport/game fishing in which he held state and national records as a junior. He entered the yachting industry in 2003. His cruising itinerary over the last 15 years includes Alaska, British Columbia, Mexico, Caribbean, Bahamas, the East coast of USA and as far north as the Saint Laurence River in Canada. Greg brings great leadership and experience to the deck department aboard NITA K II and this experience translates to a safer and more reliable trip for charter guests.

HEAD CHEF ǀ Jeff Kent Jeff started his culinary career in the kitchens of the world-famous Cog Railway, located on Mt. Washington in New Hampshire, where his father was a Steam Locomotive Engineer. After many years working in some of America’s finest restaurants with some of the country’s most talented Chefs, Jeff discovered the yachting world. Today when Jeff has a bit of free time he loves to immerse himself in the local culture of the various ports and countries around the Mediterranean and Caribbean. By exploring the markets, restaurants and vineyards that each area has to offer, Jeff is able to bring a little of the best of each back aboard the yacht for his guests.

SOUS CHEF ǀ Liezl Wehmeyer Liezl grew up in a beautiful small beach town on the Southeast coast of South Africa, Jeffrey’s Bay, and has absolutely loved and respected the ocean since a very young age. She started working in the hospitality industry directly upon studying a Tourism and Hospitality Course after graduating high school. She lived and worked on a 5-star Golf Country Club in Boca Raton in sunny Florida. After returning to the vineyards of Stellenbosch, Cape Town, she became a Guest House manager for a several years. Having been bit by the travel bug on her previous travels abroad she took an opportunity in 2012 to crew on a 39ft sailing Catamaran which was setting sail from Cape Town, South Africa to Tahiti. This was a wonderful experience in so many ways and she learned so much on this trip. She has been working in the yachting industry ever since.

CHIEF STEWARDESS ǀ Sarah Pitchford Originating from the City of Gold, Johannesburg South Africa, Sarah joined the yachting industry 8 years ago. Passionate about the ocean, her career move to the yachting industry was a natural fit. She studied Brand Building and Management at the Vega School of Leadership and is also a qualified lifeguard. Sarah is an absolute foodie and fitness fanatic at heart. In her free time you’ll find Sarah scuba diving, attending fitness and yoga classes or participating in various outdoor adventures. She also loves to cook, capture moments through photography and experiment through mixology. Sarah has a very positive outlook in everything she does and works hard to ensure that everything is done to the highest level. With an ability to communicate well with guests, she is a great asset to have aboard. Everyone who visits Nita K II feels immediately at ease around her. Sarah looks forward to welcoming you onboard.

STEWARDESS ǀ Lauren Moody Lauren was born in the south of France to British parents and then moved to a small town in the heart of Yorkshire, Northern England at a young age. Lauren originally trained as a flight attendant and flew internationally for five years, two of which while living in Alicante, Spain. Having seen much of Europe through airplane windows she decided to take a year long career break and travel across Southeast Asia and the US volunteering with various organizations along the way. During her travels Lauren met other yachting professionals who ignited her interest into the industry. So she embarked on a journey to Antibes where she met and joined NITA K II. Since joining she has visited many places she once only saw from above. In her free time Lauren enjoys traveling, immersing herself in the local cultures and cuisine along with spending time outdoors hiking, swimming and soaking up the sun.

STEWARDESS ǀ Chloe Leo Chloe was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and lived there for 12 years before relocating to Cape Town. She attended Rhodes University on the east coast of South Africa where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Economics and graduated with Honors in Human Kinetics and Ergonomics. After obtaining her personal training certificate, Chloe took part in most sports at her University, focusing competitively on athletics, cycling and hockey while assisting in training and competing in CrossFit. Chloe's love for anything water related began with family holidays down the coast where her and her sisters would wakeboard, waterski, surf and kayak daily. Chloe's brother-in-law, who is a yacht chef, introduced her to the industry of yachting when he sensed her passion for adventure.

STEWARDESS ǀ Julia Pitchford Julia was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa and later moved to Edinburgh, Scotland to pursue her studies in nursing at Queen Margaret University. Julia’s nursing knowledge and expertise ensures that guests receive the best possible care and provides an additional level of medical contingency onboard with the assistance of MedAire (the yacht’s direct line to doctors, security experts, multilingual coordinators and logistics personnel 24/7/365). When the opportunity to work with her older sister (Chief Stewardess Sarah Pitchford) presented itself she quickly and literally jumped aboard. As an avid sportsman and a proud South African, Julia competed internationally in Equestrian Vaulting over a period of 10 years. She also recently joined the QMU Sapphires cheer squad participating in competitions throughout the UK. When Julia is not working she enjoys visiting new places, exercising and tasting local foods.

CHIEF ENGINEER ǀ Clement Golaz Clement was born in France 33 years ago and currently lives on the Caribbean island of Guadeloupe when not traveling on yachts. He has a very experienced Merchant Marine background, including ferry boats in both the Mediterranean and Caribbean. He is also a sport fishing expert as well as a freelance captain and mate on boats in some of the most magnificent places on Earth.

SECOND ENGINEER ǀ Stephen Hogg Stephen is a proud South African from a small town known as Kokstad. As a young boy Stephen always showed a great interest in machinery and how it worked. This led him to study and later qualify as an electrical Engineer. He joined the yachting industry 4 years ago and has been responsible for the upkeep of the vessel’s exterior, as well as assisting with the maintenance of onboard systems. He enjoys, fishing, cooking, free diving and traveling. Stephen has a contagious sense of humor and makes for a great contribution to the team’s morale.

DECKHAND ǀ Keagan Schiff Keagan originates from the heart of South Africa. Having spent most of his years growing up in Johannesburg he found his passion while studying in Cape Town. Living in the creative hub, he pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Brand Communications through Vega University. During his time in Cape Town he furthered his studies by completing a Diploma in Event Management and Graphic Design. He gained hospitalities experience working as a personal assistant for an events and promotion company and also worked his magic as a bartender for high end functions at private events. He always had a massive passion for the ocean and believed that it would be a great opportunity to purse this adventure through yachting. He always had an active interest in all sports and was constantly involved in multiple team sports were he represented the province in both rugby and water polo at a young age. His hobbies include traveling, wake boarding, scuba diving, hiking and design. Keagan understands the value of team work and is always keen to learn something new.

DECKHAND/THIRD ENGINEER ǀ Jacques Coetzee Jacques was born just outside of Cape Town in Durbanville. His love for the ocean began in a town called Groot Brak where he and his three brothers used to fish and surf during the holidays. His avid passion for fitness and health brings a good dynamic to Nita K II with most crew having a common interest in overall health and wellbeing. He has competed in rugby, tennis and golf previously and aims to expand his abilities in boxing. He studied for five years in engineering at Stellenbosch University in South Africa and graduated with Honors in Mechanical Engineering. Jacques made the decision to join yachting while he was still a student as his primary goal is to work his way towards chief engineer in the industry. His previous experience includes time on sailboats, as sole engineer, and in the deck department.

The yacht will be available for winter charters in the Caribbean and summer charters in the Med.

13 Crew members offer 12 guests exceptional service with their every need being catered for. The 167.32ft /51m Amels Tigre D’Or 50 motor yacht ‘Nita K II’ was built in 2004 by Amels and last refitted in 2012. Previously named Felix her luxurious interior is designed by Alberto Pinto and her exterior styling is by Terence Disdale.

Nita K II’s interior layout sleeps up to 10 guests in 5 rooms, including a master suite, 2 double cabins and 2 twin cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 13 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience. Sunken yacht's captain, 2 crew reportedly under investigation in Italy

Rome — The engineer and a sailor from the crew of the luxury superyacht that sank off the coast of Sicily , killing British tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter along with five other people, have been placed under investigation by Italian prosecutors along with the captain of the vessel, according to the Reuters and ANSA news agencies. CBS News could not immediately reach the prosecutors or lawyers for the Bayesian yacht's crew members to confirm the development, which comes about a week and a half after the vessel capsized on Aug. 19.

Engineer Tim Parker Eaton and sailor Matthew Griffiths, who was on night watch duty when the incident occurred, were reportedly placed under formal investigation for possible manslaughter and culpable shipwreck a few days after the 184-foot Bayesian yacht's captain, James Cutler, whose lawyers have confirmed that he's a subject of the probe.

After meeting with prosecutors for several days, Cutler, a 51-year-old New Zealander, has declined to answer any further questions, his lawyer said Wednesday.

"The captain exercised his right to remain silent for two fundamental reasons," attorney Giovanni Rizzuti told reporters. "First, he's very worn out. Second, we were appointed only on Monday and for a thorough and correct defense case, we need to acquire a set of data that at the moment we don't have."

Lynch and his daughter Hannah, 18, were among the passengers and one crew members who died when the superyacht sank rapidly during a violent storm in the pre-dawn hours of Aug. 19. The capsize of the high-tech vessel quickly raised questions, as another sailboat that had been anchored nearby off the coast of Palermo made it through the storm unscathed.

Fifteen people, including Lynch's wife Angela Bacares, escaped to a life raft and were rescued by another boat that had been in the vicinity.

According to reports by Italian media, investigators are looking into whether the engineer, Eaton, might have neglected to activate security systems designed to automatically close all the hatches on the vessel, leaving the engine room to flood and possibly causing a power outage and the subsequent rapid flooding of the entire yacht.

Under Italian law, being placed under investigation does not necessarily mean formal charges will follow.

During a press conference on Saturday, prosecutors said the investigation would require the wreck of the Bayesian to be salvaged from the seabed, where it currently sits at a depth of about 160 feet.

Chief prosecutor Ambrogio Cartosio said his team would work to determine whether the captain, other crew members, or the yacht's manufacturers bear any responsibility for the sinking.

Yaroslavl: A UNESCO protectorate and the Volga’s most ancient town

The artists who painted the monumental landscapes were the first in the history of Russia to sign their work setting an example for future generations of talented Russian artists. Here you can see numerous ancient Russian icons and the very first printed edition of "The Song of Igor's Campaign," Russia’s most famous literary achievement of the Middle Ages.

The pride of the museum is its rich collection of examples from the Yaroslavl school of icon painting. Other notable exhibits include provincial portraits, works from the Parisian period of famous Russian artist Konstantin Korovin and canvases by Russia’s avant-garde. The museum annually hosts many events, lectures and exhibitions. Five years ago during a renovation, an arc from a secret underground passage from the Governor's house to the grotto under the observation deck of the Volga embankment was found. Twenty years ago the museum was given an award recognizing it as being the best provincial museum in Russia.

Music and Time museum This museum is very popular among foreign travelers to Russia. Here one can find the largest public display of antiques anywhere in the country. The collection includes vinyl records and gramophones, bells and chimes, irons and samovars, music boxes and phonographs. A private museum, Music and Time was founded 22 years ago by the collector, actor and magician John Mostoslavsky. If you’re lucky he will personally guide your tour, which turns the exhibits into a real show.

Yaroslavl’s most famous modern artist and a member of the Presidential Council for Culture, Nikolai Mukhin, and his colleague Treivus have created something stunning - a stone-carved portrait of Trinity angels that visit Abraham and his wife. It is a scene from the Old Testament. The sculpture is a bold attempt to interpret the great sculptural icon by medieval icon painter Andrei Rublev that bears the same name. It is Russia's only sculpture of the Holy Trinity. It is impossible to gauge how people would have reacted to such a violation of the religious canons in the past. However, the sculpture was consecrated by the former Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Aleksiy II.

Today the monument is considered one of Yaroslavl’s top five attractions. The sculpture was installed 20 years ago and shortly thereafter became a traditional place for newlyweds to make a wish and throw a coin into a cup.

Today this is a popular meeting spot for couples, to take wedding photos and to even propose marriage itself. Recently the city authorities banned the fastening of locks here, a popular ritual on wedding days, because they impede the surrounding views of the late classicist architecture. As an alternative, newlyweds have started planting "trees of love." But the place is still symbolic and lovers come here to kiss and spin around on the grass in anticipation of a happy future together. The gazebo of love is one of the best places in Yaroslavl to view the Volga.

Six people missing, including British tech tycoon Mike Lynch, and one dead after tornado sinks luxury yacht off Sicily

R escuers were on Monday searching for six people – including British tech tycoon Mike Lynch – who went missing after a luxury yacht was hit by a tornado and sank off the coast of Sicily, killing one of the 22 people on board.

The vessel was hit by the tornado at around 5 a.m. Monday, according to a spokesperson for Italy’s Coast Guard. The yacht was anchored about a half a mile from the port of Porticello on the Mediterranean island.

Four Britons and two Americans are among those missing, the spokesperson said.

A source told CNN that Lynch, the founder of software giant Autonomy, was a passenger on the yacht. The source spoke to CNN on the condition of anonymity, as they were not authorized to speak to the media.

Fifteen people were rescued, including Lynch’s wife Angela Bacares, and one child was airlifted to the children’s hospital in Palermo. Eight people were hospitalized in total, according to the mayor’s office. One body was found on the hull of the yacht, the Coast Guard said.

A small waterspout – one of several types of tornadoes – developed over the area Monday morning, according to a report from the European Severe Weather Database. Other strong storms across Sicily brought torrential rainfall late Sunday, dumping more than 4 inches (100 mm) of rain in less than four hours in Brolo, east of Palermo.

The weather forecast had warned of potential strong winds, with storms across the entire southern region of Italy Sunday, the Coast Guard spokesperson added.

One survivor, Charlotte, 35, described how she battled to hold onto her one-year-old daughter, Sofia, reported Italian news agency ANSA, as a barrage of waves sank the yacht.

“In two seconds I lost the baby in the sea, then I immediately hugged her again amidst the fury of the waves. I held her tightly, close to me, while the sea was stormy,” she told journalists. “Many were screaming.”

The captain is among the survivors, the spokesperson for Italy’s Coast Guard said.

The 56-meter yacht called the “Bayesian,” which flies under a British flag, had mostly British passengers and crew, in addition to two Anglo-French, one Irish and one Sri Lankan, the spokesperson told CNN. The New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade told CNN two of its citizens were involved in the incident, but were not among those still missing. The nationality of the dead person has not been disclosed.

The Italian fire brigade said its divers had reached the yacht’s hull 49 meters (160 feet) below sea level, according to a press statement. The brigade also dispatched helicopters to bolster the search operation.

The captain of a nearby boat said he turned on his engine to avoid crashing into the Bayesian, Reuters reported, as fierce gales swept the area.

“This morning we got this strong gust and we had to start the engine to keep the ship in an angled position,” he told reporters on Monday. “After the storm was over, we noticed that the ship behind us was gone.”

The UK’s Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) is deploying a team of four inspectors to Palermo to conduct a preliminary assessment of the yacht, a source familiar with the operations told CNN. The source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, did not say when the team is expected to arrive in Sicily.

British tycoon among those missing

Lynch, the British entrepreneur missing from the yacht, had been plagued by legal woes since 2011 , when he sold his company to tech firm Hewlett-Packard (HP) for $11 billion.

In June, he was acquitted of fraud by a jury in San Francisco, after prosecutors accused him of trying to inflate Autonomy’s revenue in the latest chapter of the legal saga.

He turned ground-breaking research at Cambridge University into the foundation of Autonomy, which became Britain’s biggest software company and a member of the blue-chip FTSE 100 index.

Lynch was lauded by academics and scientists and asked to advise the British government on technology and innovation.

Ownership records held by maritime information service Equasis show that the yacht is owned by the Isle of Man-registered Revtom Limited company. Revtom Limited’s latest annual return from April lists Bacares as its owner.
