The food at this club is simply amazing. You even have the option of grilling your own fish, steak, or sausages. Whenever there's a special, go with the special. It never disappoint. If you get an invite from a member to come sailing, do it! Remember to wear boat shoes or white soled shoes. Bring some drinks for your gracious host.
This is a private-member sailing club at Kirribilli north of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. If you're fortunate enough to be a member, or a guest of a member, you are certain to enjoy this fine dining experience. The monthly buffet is outstanding - a selection of seafood, salads and a Carvery followed by the most amazing deserts. There's also a more informal restaurant on the lower levels which is heaving on a Friday night after twilight sailing in summer.
Amazing place with a great history and the food and wine was great. The oysters are a must. You have to be with a member or be a member.
This is one incredible location. Great history adorns the walls. The only downside? It's not open to the public. The food was fantastic and the staff super helpful. I enjoyed the blue eye cod and asparagus salad quite a bit. The beef tenderloin of my sponsor/member was quite good, I'm told. And the view up the Sydney harbor is world class.

The RSYS is a premier yacht club for private members located in Kirribilli, established 1862. #rsys1862
On 8 July 1862, nineteen yachtsmen met in the office of the merchant, the Honourable William Walker, in the Exchange Building and subscribed to a resolution. "We the undersigned yacht owners, hereby constitute ourselves into a club to be termed the Australian Yacht Squadron". Within a year, the club was accorded Royal patronage by the Prince of Wales, under the name Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, in accordance with the recommendation of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, His Grace the Duke of Newcastle. The foundation of the Squadron resulted directly from th arrival in June 1862 of William Walker's yacht CHANCE, an iron hulled schooner of 71 tons, registered with the Royal Thames Yacht Club. William Walker was the Squadron's first Commodore, from 1862 to 1867. On 19 November 1902, a company named Yacht Squadron Club House Limited was incorporated with power to carry into effect a provisional agreement dated 14 November 1902 with Fanny Louisa Tucker to lease Carabella, as the property on the present clubhouse building site was then called. On 5 January 1903, a formal agreement was signed between the Squadron and the company whereby the premises were sublet to the Squadron. At the expiry of the lease, the property was purchased by the company. The Squadron Burgee was hoisted at Carabella for the first time on 24 January 1903, on the present flagstaff. On 21 January 1972, Yacht Squadron Club House Limited changed its name to Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, a company limited by guarantee, and the unincorporated Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron merged into the renamed company.

Sydney icon listed with mid-$30 million hopes as trophy home hunters circle
An icon of Sydney’s waterfront is set for new chapter as buyers with tens of millions to spend circle.
The much-loved Kirribilli Club premises is on the market, with price expectations in the mid-$30 million range. Buyers from all corners of the globe have expressed desire in the former party and function venue.
After closing in June, its future is open to exciting interpretation. Because it is zoned for mixed used, the enormous Milsons Point site could become a harbour-side trophy home, medical suites, a corporate base or kept as a hospitality hot spot.
The former restaurant and function centre is now empty, in a world-class position overlooking Lavender Bay, the Sydney Harbour foreshore and Harbour Bridge.
The vacant possession – for sale for the first time in its history – is central to the appeal, listing agent and director Willem Watson of JLL Sydney, says.
The listing describes the jaw-dropping address as a “super-prime” parcel on the lower-north shore of the city.
The property is offered via an international expressions of interest campaign and a variety of buyers are showing their intent.
The five-level commercial strata building, with a colossal loading dock, cocktail lounge, commercial-sized kitchens and bars and event facilities, is a “genuine volume metric on Sydney Harbour”, Watson says.

From the balconies and terraces are views that could be used to promote Sydney to the world.
Watson says prior to the property hitting the market, the vendor had approaches from various “asset classes” with different ideas for how they would use the large spaces.
“It is very unique and it does have a lot of different uses,” Watson says. “Given the opportunity to present the asset as vacant possession, it opens up a lot of different buyers and uses, whether that is medical, hospitality, a retail showroom – you name it.”
Watson says the postcard vistas will never be built out. As such, potential residential buyers have eyed the glittering site.
“This is the first time it has ever been offered to the market,” Watson says. “So we have already had expressions of interest, and we have had individuals from overseas looking at purchasing it as a house.”
JLL Sydney’s expressions of interest campaign concludes at 3pm on August 29, through Willem Watson, Simon Quinn and Kate MacDonald.
