Ashley Marti made quite the splash in "Below Deck Sailing Yacht" Season 3 . Since the first episode, she caused a lot of drama within the boat that carried on throughout the season. During the crew's first night together, Marti and First Officer Gary King had a steamy makeout session in the hot tub. She later made it clear that she wanted him to only have eyes for her, but he wasn't ready to commit to a relationship. Undeterred, she spent the season chasing after him and getting upset when he hooked up with Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher and the second stew, Gabriela Barragan.

Marti also created a tense work environment for Barragan after she was appointed third stew despite the two having similar work experiences. However, Kelliher thought Barragan had more life experience as she was older than Marti. The third stew often ignored Barragan's orders and made her job more difficult. Midway through the season, the second stew had enough of the boat drama and decided to quit.

While Marti's actions were already causing tension within the boat, she caused even more drama when she convinced a very inebriated King to have sex with her. Many "BDSY" fans thought the first mate had been sexually assaulted and Marti got a lot of heat from viewers, per E! News . Marti ended up skipping the reunion and used her moment of fame to pursue another career.

Ashley Marti's time on "Below Deck Sailing Yacht" Season 3 was highly controversial and it's likely that she won't be back on the show. Following her stint on reality television, Marti decided to go another route and created an OnlyFans account, which was a topic of conversation during the Season 3 reunion. Although Marti was dragged by her cast members and viewers for failing to show up, she had the last laugh and tweeted the following day, "Just want to thank @BravoWWHL for all the free OF publicity! I love waking up and seeing that in a couple hours, I've made more money than #Bravo paid me for 6 weeks."

According to Refinery29 , "Below Deck" stews make around $5,000 a month, not including tips from the charter guests. Crew members each earn about $15,000 in tips for their six-week season, which can add up to $20,000 for a second or third stew. At the time, the Daily Mail reported that Marti was charging $12.50 for her OnlyFans subscription and had 4,100 fans so far, which meant the former yachtie made over $51,000 that month. With a much heftier paycheck, Marti can afford to leave the stew career behind and is using her money to traverse the globe.

When she's not creating content for her OnlyFans site, Ashley Marti is traveling the world. In August 2022, she shared a poolside selfie on Instagram and wrote, "Life is fxcking amazing." The previous day, the former stew was in Spain with her fellow "Below Deck Sailing Yacht" Season 3 cast members Kelsie Goglia and Barnaby Birkbeck. "Ibiza you did not disappoint..and neither did the squad," Marti captioned .

In October 2021, she showed off her adventurous side by going on a safari in Tanzania. Marti shared a snap of her and a tour guide and wrote , "*Guide Appreciation Post* This man has been above and beyond anything I could've ever asked for. His name means Good luck and that's exactly what he is. If any of you ever plan on going on safari in Tanzania, talk to me and I will make sure you have the best guides."

Although Marti clashed with many of her "BDSY" cast members, she became good friends with Goglia, and the two often spend time together. Marti visited her BFF in San Diego to watch her throw the first pitch for the Padres. "Couldn't miss my bestie throw an absolute zinger of a first pitch," she shared on Instagram . Despite her controversial "BDSY" season, it looks as if some good things came out of her short stint on the show.

Skipping out on a reunion is a cardinal sin in the Bravo-verse, but that's exactly what Below Deck Sailing Yacht 's Ashley Marti just did. 

The season three reunion aired June 27, and while the stewardess was nowhere to be found, that didn't stop her co-stars from sharing their thoughts on everything that went down with her and first mate  Gary King this year—namely, the time they seemingly hooked up despite the fact that Gary was extremely intoxicated. 

As host Andy Cohen put it, "You were really drunk, you told her to stop. From the viewers' perspective, you were sexually assaulted. Is that you felt?"

Gary prefaced his response by noting that while he and Ashley "aren't friends," he still felt the need to defend her. "I don't think there was anything of it and I think people are being very harsh to her," Gary said of the hook up. "I thank everyone for sticking up for me but there was nothing to it and I feel that everyone should leave Ashley alone on that circumstance because it wasn't how it seemed."

Andy pointed out that if the roles were reversed—more specifically, if Gary had initiated a drunken hookup and made a comment similar to that of Ashley's "You're f--king inside of me right now"—the situation could be quite serious. 

"I understand that Andy, I really do," Gary replied. "I mean, it's not an ideal situation, to be honest. I personally wouldn't do something like that. But I can't stress this enough, I'd just like people to leave Ashley alone."

Gary also revealed that while he and Ashley aren't exactly on good terms, he did reach out to her once the hookup in question aired. "I just sent her a message saying, 'From the messages I'm getting, I can only imagine what you're receiving, so I just want to apologize for that and I just want you to not think about it, don't take it too hard.'"

Still, like most of the Below Deck Sailing Yacht cast, he wasn't amused that Ashley had skipped out on the reunion.  Marcos Spaziani was the only crew member to come to her defense, theorizing that she may have just been too busy. However, Daisy Kelliher immediately shut him down.

"Marcos, we're all busy, OK?" the chief stew said, much to her other co-stars' amusement. "We all have jobs. We all have things to do. But we all knew that the reunion happens, so cut the busy bulls--t."

Daisy, for her part, was correct—Ashley didn't skip the reunion because she busy. As Ashley explained in an Instagram Live on June 26, she was a no-show because "at the time the reunion was filmed, all of the stuff with the bedroom scene was coming out," Ashley said. "And people were being very nasty, and I just felt like I didn't want to have to deal with it during the reunion."

The 24-year-old also insisted that she wouldn't have been able "to really tell my side of the story." 

Naturally, the show went on without her. Throughout the reunion, Tom addressed the situation that led to his firing, Daisy and Gary continued to spark romance rumors , Gabriela Barragan reflected on leaving the charter and so much more.

Season three of Below Deck Sailing Yacht is now streaming on Peacock , where the reunion episode will launch on Tuesday morning.

In a series of Instagram Stories in late April, the yachtie captured a day at a Florida tattoo parlor called Ink Addiction 2 . In one clip, Ashley could be seen pulling down her lower lip while a tattoo artist added the finishing touches to her design. Her fresh ink was scrawled on the inside of her lower lip, and it spelled out a word we weren’t exactly expecting: “daddy.”

This isn’t Ashley’s only body art, as we can see on her  Instagram page . In a 2016 photo, Ashley shows off a back tattoo featuring gorgeous lettering that runs down her spine. On her rib cage, she has a small black outline. Another piece consists of small, dainty cursive lettering, starting at the top of Ashley’s pelvic bone and ending on her upper thigh. Ashley also has what looks to be four symbols representing air, earth, fire, and water on her hip.

Months after the crew on Parsifal III wrapped up in Menorca on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3, the stars gathered to discuss the most compelling moments from the season for a reunion.

Returning stars Captain Glenn Shephard, Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher, First Mate Gary King , and Engineer Colin MacRae joined host Andy Cohen virtually in the Watch What Happens Live clubhouse for the June 27 episode, as did Season 3 personalities Kelsie Goglia and Chef Marcos Spaziani.

Departed crew members Gabriela Barragan and Tom Pearson were there too, though neither actually finished out the season.

Even deckhand Barnaby Birkbeck and stew Scarlett Bentley were there for the reunion, though they only joined the Parsifal III crew late into the charter season.

As host Andy Cohen soon pointed out, Ashley Marti was not present for the virtual reunion taping. The New York state native was the subject of controversy throughout the season, and a lot of the drama revolved around her connection with Gary.

Though much of the special likely would have focused on her experience on the sailing vessel, Ashley proved to be a no show.

Why wasn't Ashley Marti at the 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' Season 3 reunion?

Though each Below Deck Sailing Yacht cast member was able to call into the reunion from home or from their workplace (or, in the case of Chef Marcos, from the car), Ashley chose not to attend the virtual taping.

"This was a great season, and it was a season we saw all sides of controversial stew Ashley Marti — the good, the bad, and the bruised," Andy said at the beginning of the special. "However, we won't be seeing her today because, unfortunately, she's a no show."

The WWHL star then asked the cast if any of them had spoken to Ashley prior to the taping. Fired deckhand Tom, who had a romantic dalliance with Ashley, said that he had.

"I spoke to her yesterday. She just said that she doesn't need this in her life, and she wasn't interested in taking part," Tom said. "I'm not surprised."

Tom understood why Ashley wasn't there, but some of her other former cast mates didn't.

"Why sign up to do a TV show when you know there's gonna be a reunion about it, and then you don't do it?" Gary wondered.

While Chef Marcos said that she could have been "too busy," Daisy told him to "cut the busy bulls--t."

"I get the sense that she wasn't thrilled by how the show turned out," Andy said.

Has Ashley commented on her 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' reunion absence?

Ashley didn't give herself the chance to defend her Season 3 actions on the reunion, but she may have taken to her Instagram stories on June 27 to discuss why she would not be there. The story has since disappeared, but a screenshot of it has been circulating on Reddit . It is important to note that the veracity of these screenshots cannot be corroborated.

"I just want to let all my supporters know that I chose not to participate in the reunion," Ashley appeared to write on her story, per the Reddit thread. "At the time it was filmed, I did not have the energy nor the desire to continue to be a puppet for Bravo, in addition to feeling like I would not be able to fully tell my side of the story due to editing."

She went on to thank her fans, and to let them know that she could answer questions via her stories. It is unclear at this time if Ashley did end up answering her followers' questions on the app.

"I appreciate all of the support I have received along the way, which is why I'm giving my followers a chance to ask me questions about the season which I will answer live," she continued. "I'm sorry for anyone who was looking forward to it, however I hope you will respect my decision."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht stewardess Ashley Marti shared her exciting summer plans with fans on social media.

Ashley shared a simple picture of her passport with an Iberia Airlines ticket and noted that she would be spending her summer in Europe.

Due to her conduct on the show, Ashley has been in the news a lot lately, and it has largely been negative press. Her pursuit of Gary King was labeled as desperate by several of her castmates and predatory by Sailing Yacht viewers.

Ashley used her Instagram stories to announce how she would be spending her summer.

The 24-year-old shared a picture of a plane ticket in Spanish tucked inside of her American passport.

In the caption at the bottom of the photo, she wrote, “Hot European Summer.” Below that was a “loading” symbol.

Ashley did not mention any specific plans she had for her summer in Europe or whether she would be working at all.

Ashley Marti appears unbothered by popular Below Deck Sailing Yacht viewers’ opinions

Early on in the season, when Ashley was facing backlash for hooking up with Tom Pearson and then treating him poorly, she fought back against Below Deck critics who were slamming her. She called people who judged her “delusional” and claimed that anyone who spoke out against her was “miserable.”

Since then, Ashley has opted not to address the negativity she has received and has continued to post on Instagram, looking unbothered. The comments on her posts have been limited, however.

Gary was recently on Daisy Kelliher and Alli Dore’s podcast, Beneath the Surface with Daisy and Alli. He revealed that he felt like his hookup with Ashley was blown out of proportion after learning that many viewers took offense to Ashley’s actions and labeled it as abuse.

Gary said that he reached out to Ashley to see if she was okay amid the drama airing on-screen but noted that they had not spoken outside of that.

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht crew takes a break from work to have a sit-down dinner in this EXCLUSIVE preview of the April 11 episode. As they wait for their food, Marcos takes the opportunity to tell the crew that they’ve “put the bar very high. Now it’s going to be a difficult job to maintain it.”

Kelsie responds, “I feel like we just need to vibe so hard that the guests have no option than to vibe as hard as us.” Marcos begins speaking again, and Gaby quips, “Back to me, Marcos.”

Gaby keeps trying to interrupt while Marcos is talking. Gary gives her a little nudge to stop, and she nudges him right back. Marcos ends things by saying this is going to be the “best season ever.” They all agree on that.

The arrival of the food diffuses any tension there was at the table, but it doesn’t last long. “ Daisy , are you still pissed off at me?” Gary asks.

Ashley tells Daisy, “I would never say anything bad about you.” Daisy thanks Ashley for that. Ashley adds, “Because I have nothing bad to say.” Daisy asks Gary if she can go and have a cigarette with him. Gary tries to keep things light, but Daisy says she won’t laugh at him until he apologizes.

Daisy and Gary have a history together. Couple that with Gary recently flirting with Ashley, and the Daisy-Gary relationship is complicated, to say the least. After their steamy hot tub kiss, many fans have wondered if these two are together together. Daisy and Gary set the record straight during a recent visit to Watch What Happens Live .

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 may not wind up getting released, and if that’s the cast, I’ll be blaming First Officer Gary King’s poor behavior for the cancelation of the beloved series . While Below Deck viewers may not have been shocked by Gary’s behavior on the series in the slightest, when it comes to the way he’s behaved off-screen, even fans who have been watching for years were alarmed. Instead, Gary continued on filming the next season of the series. While Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 has been wrapped for over a year, the season still has yet to be released .

Although Gary’s behavior has been poor throughout the run of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, the allegations lodged against him are vastly different than his everyday playboy behavior. If something happens to Below Deck Sailing Yacht, like a cancelation or a reshoot that causes a longer delay in the series return, I believe viewers should hold Gary accountable . Whether or not he actually behaved poorly with the Below Deck makeup artist who spoke up about her experiences with him, Gary’s time on the show has made women uncomfortable, and his behavior has been difficult to watch. If the series is canceled because Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 isn’t able to be aired, Gary’s the one who’s at fault for continuously behaving badly year after year.
