The 36m/118ft all-aluminium superyacht CALYPSO I (ex.BN110) is part of the Mulder ThirtySix series from Dutch shipyard Mulder delivered in 2019 and features naval architecture from Van Oossanen while the exterior and interior styling is the work of Claydon Reeves and John Vickers respectively. The accommodation sleeps a maximum of 10 guests over 4 cabins, with a crew of 6 to ensure that every guest receives first-class service.

The main deck aft offers plenty of space for shaded alfresco dining and outdoor lounging, where two C-shaped sofas face port and starboard with a coffee table in between and a canvas shade above that is extendable over to the stern. Two staircases connect down to the lower deck swim platform, which in turn leads into a beautifully-appointed beach club.

On the bridge deck, the aft is fitted with a large circular Jacuzzi with a forward 'swim-up' bar and a large sunbed fanning out towards the stern. A set of steps leads up to the central section sheltered by the hardtop, beneath which there is an L-shaped sofa and drinks table to starboard, while opposite a large dining table is surrounded on three sides by plush sofa seating. A forward staircase leads down into the bridge, which can be used as another interior lounge with views out across the bow.

The lower deck places the crew accommodation and facilities in the bow, the guest accommodation forward and amidships and the engine room behind. The tender garage aft uses a side hatch to launch and retrieve the tenders, leaving the section in the stern free for a beach club with a wet bar. The main deck places the Owner's stateroom forward to make use of benefits such as larger windows, a broad skylight and a sizeable forward en-suite bathroom. The interior contains a port-side day bed and an office/study that also contains the wardrobe.

The main foyer leads down a port-side corridor to the open-plan main salon, where a grand formal dining table sets the scene for dining between up to 10 guests. Dividing the meal are from the lounge is the bar, placed port-side with stools for up to four guests. The lounge has a sizeable sofa/daybed to port with additional armchairs and drinks tables for a relaxing setting at any time of the day, and opposite a sofa provides additional seating.

A port corridor forward of the formal dining area leads up to the bridge, which contains a corner sofa and drinks table as well as an additional settee opposite for guests to enjoy the views and serenity. Another staircase leads aft and connects to the sheltered bridge deck alfresco lounge.

CALYPSO I Specifications

A pair of CAT C18 engines each producing 1,150 HP allow for a maximum speed of 16.8 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots.

Presented by DMA Yachting, the majestic charter yacht CALYPSO I is a 118 ft motor yacht featuring a jetski and a hot tub. The most attractive features of CALYPSO I are her most appealing features and interconnection with the sea. CALYPSO I spends the summer and winter season in Greece. She was delivered by recognized shipbuilder Mulder Shipyard in 2019. The expansive yacht layout features 4 large cabins and comfortably accommodates up to 10 guests.

CALYPSO I is classified as a superyacht. The prominent section of the yacht, inviting aft deck, leads to the meticulously composed main saloon. Designed with chartering in mind, the award-winning CALYPSO I yacht is the ultimate in laid-back luxury, with plenty of deck space to enjoy sunny days.

With a full-beam master suite and a VIP stateroom that rivals it, this luxury superyacht is well-suited to family charters or four couples who want to holiday together.

Interior Design & Engineering

The 36-metre CALYPSO I was built in 2019 by Mulder and won an award for her interior design at the 2020 Boat International Design & Innovation Awards. Her designer, Claydon Reeves, specifically created her with the charter market in mind.

CALYPSO I’s fast displacement hull means she’s comfortable and economical at all speeds, cruising at 15 knots and with a top speed of 17 knots.

The interior of the CALYPSO I yacht, designed by John Vickers, creates a Caribbean beach house vibe with full-length windows, natural woods and hints of luxury in the marble trim and leather furnishings.

The main salon is open-plan, with a lounge area aft that’s furnished with plush white sofas and seats and a luxurious cream rug. It leads to a chic sit-up bar with a formal dining table for eight amidship.

Up to 10 guests can be accommodated during a CALYPSO I yacht charter. There’s a full-beam master suite on the main deck and an equally impressive VIP suite below on the lower deck. This balance of accommodation lends itself particularly well to two-family charters.

There are also two double/twin cabins on the lower deck, each with an additional Pullman berth. This configuration is particularly appealing if you’re holidaying with multiple couples.

Yacht Facilities & Entertainment

The sun deck is home to a round Jacuzzi aft, with a sit-up bar overlooking it and sun pads fanned out behind it. You’ll also find a dining table, perfect for alfresco dining while watching the ocean from 360-degree views.

If you’d prefer to sit comfortably in the shade, the main deck aft offers a lounge with another dining area.

When you’re ready to get into the water, steps lead you from the main deck aft down to her swim platform. It's big enough to recline on sun loungers and, once opened, reveals a beautifully appointed beach club.

Toys and Crew

A crew of six will supervise your CALYPSO I yacht charter.

The swim platform makes it easier to board the 6.32-metre Williams 625 DieselJet tender when you want to pop ashore for some leisure time.

If you want to enjoy the most that this luxury superyacht has to offer, you’ll need to work your way through her collection of water toys. You’ll find two three-seater Jet Skis, a motorised surfboard, two Seabobs, two inflatable SUPs and fishing gear waiting for you.

(Italian Firefighters via AP, HO) (Italian Coast Guard/AP) PORTICELLO, Sicily — (AP) — Police divers resumed searching Tuesday for six people believed trapped in the hull of a superyacht that sank in deep seas off Sicily, including British tech magnate Mike Lynch, who was celebrating his recent acquittal on fraud charges with the people who had defended him at trial. The luxury sailboat, off Porticello near Palermo, was about 50 meters (164 feet) underwater — far deeper than most recreational divers are certified for and a depth that requires special precautions. Recovery crews could only stay for 12-minute shifts, a measure that slowed efforts to reach the cramped inside of the wreck. Divers tag-teamed the shifts and were using a remote-controlled underwater vehicle, or ROV, to help in the search. They hadn't been able to access the below-deck cabins because they were blocked by furniture that shifted during the violent storm that struck the vessel early Monday. Rescue crews said they assume the missing six are in those cabins because the storm struck when most would be sleeping, but the teams haven't verified their presence there through portholes. The Bayesian, a 56-meter (184-foot) British-flagged yacht, was moored about a kilometer (a half-mile) offshore when a storm rolled in before 4 a.m. Monday. Civil protection officials said they believed the ship was struck by a tornado over the water, known as a waterspout, and sank quickly . Grainy film from closed-circuit cameras from shore, broadcast on the website of the Giornale di Sicilia, showed the majestic, illuminated 75-meter (246-foot) mast of the Bayesian weathering the storm and then disappearing over the course of a minute. Fifteen of the 22 people aboard survived, including a mother who reported holding her 1-year-old baby over the waves to save her. One body was recovered, identified by officials as the Antiguan-born on-board chef. The rest of the 10-person crew survived, including the captain whom prosecutors reportedly sought to interview. The survivors were rescued by a nearby sailboat after getting into a lifeboat. Lynch, who was once hailed as Britain's king of technology, was cleared in June of fraud and conspiracy charges in a U.S. federal trial related to Hewlett Packard's $11 billion takeover of his company, Autonomy Corp. His wife, Angela Bacares, survived the sinking. Hannah Lynch, the couple's 18-year-old daughter, is reportedly unaccounted for. Also unaccounted for are Christopher Morvillo, one of Lynch’s lawyers, and his wife, Neda; and Jonathan Bloomer, a chairman at Morgan Stanley International and the former head of the Autonomy audit committee who testified in Lynch’s defense, and his wife. Karsten Borner, the captain of the Sir Robert Baden Powell, which rescued the survivors, said he was close enough to see the Bayesian as the storm came in. “A moment later, she was gone,” he said. “It’s a great, great tragedy,” said Britain’s ambassador to Italy, Edward Llewellyn, who visited Porticello on Tuesday. Britain sent four investigators to the scene, given the disaster involved a British-flagged ship and British citizens were among the missing. Luca Cari, a spokesman for the rescue teams, said the search was proceeding much more slowly than another big shipwreck in Italy, the 2012 Costa Concordia cruise ship that flipped on its side off Tuscany's coast, because of the depth of the wreck and the limited space divers have to maneuver. “That was much simpler. Here everything is more tight," he said. The outing was intended at least in part as a celebration of Lynch’s acquittal and a “looking forward to what was coming next,” said Reid Weingarten, a Washington attorney and a member of Lynch’s defense team who was not on the yacht. “A lot of people went, a lot of people were planning to go and then, of course, this happened,” Weingarten said. Weingarten worked with Morvillo and said he “was like a brother.” Aki Hussain, CEO of international insurer Hiscox Group, where Bloomer was chairman, said the company was “deeply shocked and saddened by this tragic event.” “Our thoughts are with all those affected, in particular our Chair, Jonathan Bloomer, and his wife Judy, who are among the missing, and with their family as they await further news from this terrible situation,” he added. Among the survivors, the Emslie family was released from Palermo's pediatric hospital on Tuesday. Charlotte Golunski had reported that she momentarily lost hold of her 1-year-old daughter, Sofia, in the water but then managed to hold her up over the waves until they were both pulled to safety, doctors said. The father, identified by ANSA news agency as James Emslie, also survived. “They don't talk much, primarily because they consider themselves survivors and they don't understand why they survived given what they went through,” said Dr. Domenico Cipolla, head of the emergency room at Di Cristina pediatric hospital. Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Cipolla said the parents had been in touch with other survivors, who are being housed at a nearby hotel and were waiting for other family members to arrive in Sicily. The Bayesian, built in 2008 by the Italian firm Perini Navi, is registered to Revtom Ltd., according to online maritime database Equasis. Bacares, Lynch's wife, is listed as Revtom's sole owner, according to corporate registration documents from the Isle of Man. According to online charter companies, it had been available for charter for 195,000 euros (about $215,000) a week and was notable for its massive 75-meter-tall (246-foot-tall) aluminum mast, one of the tallest in the world. The coast guard said to date there was no trace of fuel leaks from the wreckage. In an unrelated event, Lynch's co-defendant in the Autonomy trial who was also cleared, Stephen Chamberlain, was killed Sunday when he was hit by a car while running in Cambridgeshire, England, said Chamberlain's lawyer, Gary Lincenberg. It was supposed to be a summer celebration. British tech tycoon Mike Lynch had gathered his tried and trusted lawyers who had been with him every step of the way helping him emerge unscathed from a gruelling 13-year legal battle. Twelve guests had flown into the picturesque Italian port of Porticello, near Palermo from the UK, the US,  Canada , New Zealand and Ireland, to mark the end of the fraud trial that had consumed much of their lives. But now a manslaughter investigation  has been launched as Mr Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter Hannah were among the seven people who died after the vessel capsized during bad weather in the early hours of Monday morning. Morgan Stanley chairman Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judith Bloomer, Clifford Chance lawyer Christopher Morvillo and his wife Neda Morvillo also died. Italian public prosecutor Ambrogio Cartosio, from nearby town Termini Imerese said his office has opened an initial investigation into manslaughter and negligent  shipwreck . The group had been welcomed on board the six luxurious suites of Bayesian, a 56-metre-long £30 million superyacht , by the ten crew. Boasting the tallest aluminium mast in the world - higher than Nelson’s Column - experts now speculate it may have caused her to topple and become pinned underwater in an unpredictable, ferocious storm. The ship was named after the statistical method, the Bayesian inference, an 18th-century theory that helps forecasters predict outcomes more reliably. Mr Lynch based his entire PHD thesis around it, later amassing his huge fortune after selling his company Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard for $11 billion in 2011. He had improbably beaten the odds in a bitter US legal dispute with the technology giant, convincing a jury that he was not guilty of claims of massive fraud after a long legal fight that finally came to an end in June. Two months ago he emerged from court with tears in his eyes a free man he pledged to restructure extradition laws that brought him to the US in cuffs. Disaster struck at around 5am when a freak tornado over the sea known as a waterspout rocked the superyacht, according to Sicily ’s civil protection agency. The crew fired off disaster flares causing local fishermen and others to navigate the storm to come to the aid of survivors. The captain of a nearby boat said that when the winds surged, he had turned on the engine to keep control of his vessel and avoid a collision with the Bayesian, which had been anchored alongside him. “We managed to keep the ship in position and after the storm was over, we noticed that the ship behind us was gone,” Karsten Borner said. The other boat “went flat on the water, and then down,” he added. He said his crew then found some of the survivors on a life raft and took them on board before the coast guard picked them up. This included a one-year-old girl named Sophie one of the 16 survivors, so far. Her mother, Charlotte Golunski, 36, told how she battled to keep her child above the dark and raging Mediterranean while calling for help amid the awful piercing screams of other struggling guests and crew. “For two seconds I lost the baby in the sea, then I immediately held her again in the fury of the waves,” she told Giornale di Sicilia. “I held her tightly, tightly to me, while the sea was raging. So many were screaming. Fortunately, the lifeboat inflated and 11 of us managed to get on it.” This left six passengers unaccounted for - Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter, Morgan Stanley International non-executive chairman Jonathan Bloomer, Clifford Chance lawyer Chris Morvillo, and their wives Judy and Neda. The worn-out Captain of the yacht , James Catfield said simply: “We didn’t see it coming.” “The wind was very strong. Bad weather was expected, but not of this magnitude,” a coast guard official in the Sicilian capital Palermo said the next day. Local fisherman Giuseppe Cefalu told how he saw a “tornado” close to the port on Monday morning. Mr Cefalu said he and his brother Fabio saw a flare in the sky at around 5am. The pair aided efforts to locate people in the water after the yacht vanished beneath the waves, but Mr Cefalu said he only saw cushions and a buoy. He said weather conditions on the morning of the sinking were “fierce”, with “very strong” wind and rain. The luxury superyacht is “practically intact” on the seabed despite sinking, Marco Tilotta, a firefighter diver from Palermo, has told Italian newspaper Il Messaggero. He said in an interview that the multi-million yacht was lying on its side at a depth of 48 metres, but that divers were unable to gain access because of floating furnishings and other debris inside the yacht. “The fear is that the bodies got trapped inside the vessel,” which was lying 49 metres deep, Salvatore Cocina, head of civil protection in Sicily , added. “The biggest difficulty we have is due to the depth, which does not allow long times of intervention,” fire department diver Marco Tilotta told reporters. “We plan ... to search centimetre by centimetre.” Now they enter a critical 24 hours according to Nick Sloane, a lead diver in the Costa Concordia wreck. He told Sky News that survivors might be trapped in air pockets inside the ship, but that time is running out fast to rescue them. “They’ve got a very small window of time to try to find people stuck inside with hopefully an air pocket, and they could be rescued. “If the yacht is on its side, it might have more air pockets than if it’s upright.
