The world’s largest in-water boating extravaganza, this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show—that’s FLIBS for short—opens its doors Wednesday, October 25 for a five-day run. It will have seven venues with more than 1,300 boats on display. The total number of boats, marine products and services represent more than 1,000 brands from 52 countries.
Last year, more than 100,000 people visited the show, with about half coming from outside Florida. Many yacht aficionados consider it the most enjoyable show on the international boat-show circuit, because of the sheer range of vessel types and owners—from twenty-something-foot fishing boats in the convention center to the massive 200-plus-foot superyachts at the Bahia Mar. The numbers of new yachts from Europe, Asia and South America also grow each year. Unlike other shows, there is a vessel for every boater profile at FLIBS.
Changes to this year’s show include an expanded Superyacht Village with more superyachts than ever, plus the addition of a new Designers’ Pavilion featuring many of the world’s top yacht design studios.
Looking for a new supercar to go with your superyacht? The new “Car Exhibition at the Hall of Fame Marina” showcases the latest in exotic machinery.
Of course, the show is fundamentally about what floats your boat. Here are 11 showstoppers you shouldn’t miss.
Lürssen ‘Marguerite’
Looking to escape the madding crowd? The 201-foot, Lürssen Marguerite is designed to go off the grid for up to 30 days. The vessel also a 7,700-nautical-mile range at a friendly cruise speed. Launched in 2004 as Avanti , and then renamed Phoenix , the yacht was christened Marguerite after an ownership change in 2021. Designed by U.K.-based Andrew Winch, one of the yacht’s many highlights includes a self-contained, two-story owner’s apartment on the main and upper decks, complete with an observation lounge, a private outdoor retreat on the foredeck, and a floating staircase to a private office. Capable of carrying a Bell Jet Ranger on the foredeck, the helicopter deck also doubles as a party place with sun lounges and a 10-person hot tub. Marguerite is listed with Moran Yacht & Ship for $48 million.
Viareggio Superyachts ‘Atomic’
Launched in 2020, the 209-foot Atomic includes one of the best onboard dive centers of any superyacht to accommodate owner Dan Huish’s passion for scuba. With a fold-down, sea-level terrace and specialized storage for dozens wet suits and dive tanks, the yacht was also designed to explore the world’s most remote dive spots. A state-of-the-art dynamic positioning system can keep Atomic in one place without having to drop anchor hook possibly damage the seabed. Designed by Espen Øino International and built in Italy by Viareggio Superyachts, this steel-and-aluminum superyacht was designed to travel the world. The boat has a 5,300-nautical-mile range at 12 knots, but the twin 2,680 hp Caterpillar diesels deliver a 17-knot top speed. Atomic is listed with IYC for $63 million.
Icon ‘Party Girl’
This sleek 205-foot superyacht from the Dutch builder Icon is all about having fun. As a successful charter yacht—it rents for up to $490,000 a week—the vessel (and its 12 guests) has a small armada of water toys at their disposal, including a trio of Yamaha WaveRunners, seabobs, a wakeboard, a kayak, and an oversized water slide, plus no fewer than four tenders. Reportedly owned by Pet Supermarkets founder Charles West, Party Girl also has the legs to party at the end of the world, courtesy of its 6,000 nautical-mile range. Launched in 2013 as Meridian and heavily updated in 2019, superyacht has distinctive lines from the drawing board of the U.K. studio RWD, with interior design by Cristiano Gatto. One of the many highlights includes a salon that stretches over 55 feet and includes a formal dining area with seating for 14. Party Girl is listed with Merle Wood & Associates for $52.5 million.
Tankoa ‘Casino Royale’
Likely to be the biggest superyacht at FLIBS, the headlining 236-foot Casino Royale is making an appearance in Fort Lauderdale to showcase the workmanship of its Italian builder, Tankoa Yachts. Launched as Solo in 2018, reportedly for billionaire Italian media mogul Carlo de Benedetti, the yacht defines Italian style and opulence. One of its most spectacular features is its full-deck owner’s apartment, with doors leading out on to a helipad allowing the owner to step straight out of the helicopter and into his suite. That, and a dining room with a huge aquarium engineered not to ripple the water even while the yacht is under way. After an extensive refit in 2021/22 that included a switch from stark white paint to a rich copper color, Solo was put on the market and sold in May this year when the name was changed to Casino Royale . The last asking price was €66 million ($68 million).
Azimut Magellano 60
Fresh from its global debut at the September Cannes boat show, Azimut’s lovely, fast trawler-esque Magellano 60 will make the trip to FLIBS for its US premiere. From the drawing board of designer Ken Freivokh, who also penned the 60’s larger sisterships, it features the same trademark teak strakes on the cockpit sides, the same vertical bow, and versatile foredeck for sunning and socializing. Power from twin 730 hp MAN diesels with shaft drives deliver a 24-knot top speed with relaxed cruising at 18. Below-decks are three spacious cabins, with the full-beam master located amidships. In addition to the Magellano 60, Azimut is also doing the U.S. launch of its new outboard-powered Verve 48 with triple Mercury V12 600s at FLIBS, along with the updated Grand 36M and S7 models. The Magellano 60 is priced around $2.8 million.
Baglietto ‘Blue Ice’
Paint big numbers on the hull and this Italian stallion from famed builder Baglietto could easily be mistaken for some stealthy navy patrol vessel— especially with that head-turning, forward-position wheelhouse. Even the top deck funnel has the menacing look of an anti-aircraft gun installation. The black hull and battleship-gray superstructure only add to the yacht’s don’t-mess-with-me appearance. And like any good gunboat, the vessel is fast. Twin 2,200 hp MTU engines, coupled with a skinny five-foot draft and lightweight aluminum construction, provide an impressive 28-knot top speed. Delivered in 1999 and extensively re-fitted in 2016, the minimalist Aldo Cichero interior offers accommodations for up to 10 in four staterooms. Blue Ice has a $4.29 million asking price with FGI Yachts.
Gulf Craft Majesty 111
Talk about a world traveler. Emirates-based Gulf Craft debuted its brand-new Majesty 111 superyacht at the Dubai boat show last April. Then it was off to the Monaco Yacht Show last month, where it picked up a “Best Interior Design” award. Now it’s making its U.S. appearance at FLIBS. Designed in collaboration with Dutch studio Phathom, the 110-footer is filled with floor-to-ceiling glass in its expansive salon. It also has five cabins below-decks, plus a spacious main-deck master suite with a skylight that looks up into the foredeck plunge pool. The yacht is also surprisingly quick, with a pair of MAN V-12 diesels that deliver a top speed of 20 knots. With a draft of five and a half feet, the vessel is ideal for the often-shallow waters of the Bahamas. The price is around $12 million.
Cigarette Racing 52 Thunder
If there’s the rumble of thunder around the FLIBS docks this year, it won’t necessarily be South Florida weather. It’ll come from the latest speed demon from Miami’s Cigarette Racing and its jaw-dropping new 52 Thunder Center Console. Slotting into the Cigarette lineup between the 42-foot Auroris and 59-foot Tirranna , this new Thunder lives up to it name courtesy of its six, Mercury Racing 500R V-8 outboards. That adds up to a staggering 3,000 hp. Top speed? That would be in excess of 80 knots. Styled in collaboration with Italian designer Giorgio Cassetta, the Thunder combines speed with comfort, thanks to its multitude of flashy, red-trimmed leather-upholstered seating and spacious air-conditioned cabin. The 52’s 14-foot beam ensures plenty of walkaround space, with the rear cockpit making a great access point to the water, or an under-the-stars dance floor. Base price is $3.1 million.
Aquila 47 Molokai
Florida-based Aquila is debuting its new 47 Molokai , aiming at the big-game offshore fishing market. The big brother to the Molokai 28, this battlewagon features double-stepped hulls and a raised tunnel between the twin hulls that combine to minimize pounding in big seas. With a 14-foot, seven-inch beam, the yacht offers exceptional space and a rock-solid platform for offshore trolling. When the family is along for the ride, the accommodations include foredeck lounges and a stylish, air-conditioned stateroom below with an island queen bed, with separate head and shower. Outboard choices range from twin 600 hp Mercury V-12s, or a quartet of new 400 hp Mercury V-10s, each giving a 50-knot-plus top speed. At a friendly cruise speed, the 1,048-gallon tanks should give a range of up to 800 nautical miles. Pricing to be announced at the show.
Princess Y95
Talk about prolific. Britain’s Princess Yachts has debuted brand-new models at recent European boat shows—the all-new S72 was one of the stars of last month’s Southampton show, while the new Y80 was a show-stopper at Cannes. Neither will be making a grand entrance at this year’s FLIBS, with the builder choosing instead to give the first U.S. airings to its Y95 and X80 mini superyachts. The Y95 is the headliner here, with its combination of luxury and performance. Powered by a pair of 2,000 hp MAN V-12s, this 95-footer can hit a top speed of 24 knots. The Y95 looks sleek and stylish with its near bow-to-stern hull windows and the hardtop that looks like it’s floating atop the yacht. Pricing starts at around $16 million.
Riviera 585 SUV
The 585 SUV is the latest addition to Riviera’s five-model SUV line-up. Strong points include its roomy and protected aft cockpit, its foredeck lounge area and three-stateroom layout (including a full-width owner’s suite.) It’s also a yacht full of innovative design touches and an impressive level of craftsmanship. Standard power is a pair of 900 hp Volvo D13 diesels mated to IPS drives, with the option of 1,000 hp versions. Top speed with the bigger engines is 35 knots, with a 400-nautical-mile range at 21 knots. Pricing is about $3.6 million.

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is America’s biggest annual event featuring new and brokerage yachts, with more than 100,000 visitors and more than 1,300 boats on display. This year’s show, which is scheduled to run Oct. 25-29 in southeast Florida, promises new models from top builders all around the world, including Benetti, Azimut, Wally, Princess , Sirena, Sunseeker , Galeon, Maritimo, Riviera, Sunreef, Aquila, Ocean Alexander and Viking. Article At-A-Glance
New Yachts from European BuildersBenetti and Azimut will be bringing their Italian-built yachts to the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, while the Ferretti Group’s Wally brand will be present with its Monaco-based flair. Benetti will display the 112-foot Oasis 34M Ubiquitous, while Azimut will be showing four models in the United States for the first time, and Wally will be featuring the wallywhy150 . Benetti Oasis 34M UbiquitousThe Benetti Oasis 34M Ubiquitous is scheduled to make its US debut at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. This is a 112-foot fiberglass motoryacht with exteriors by RWD in Britain and interiors by the New York firm Bonetti & Kozerski. The stern on Ubiquitous has Benetti’s Oasis Deck, which includes two wings that open to enlarge the space. An infinity pool is here as well, and the space adjoins the main-deck salon to give guests the option of sun-drenched or shaded spaces for relaxation. Also at the show: Benetti will showcase the B.Yond 37M Never Say Never Again. It’s a 121-foot motoryacht from architect Stefano Righini with an E-Mode Hybrid system from Siemens Energy. The idea is to reduce harmful emissions while giving owners the option of four operating modes, including a fully electric mode for zero-emissions cruising. Four New Yachts from AzimutAzimut will have four yachts making their Americas premiere at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show: the Verve 48 outboard, Magellano 60, Grande 36M and S7. The Verve 48 outboard is a sport boat for weekends, designed in collaboration with Francesco Struglia. Its power is triple 600 hp Mercury outboards that promise a top speed of 50 knots. The stern has been updated from previous models; it now includes “the most extensive swim platform ever,” according to Azimut. Crossover appeal is at the heart of the Magellano 60, with features intended for longer-distance cruising. For sustainability, the Azimut Magellano 60 can be delivered with HVOlution , a biofuel produced by Eni Sustainable Mobility. Azimut says this fuel, when combined with the shipyard’s semi-planing Dual Mode hull, can reduce carbon-dioxide emissions by more than 80 percent compared to yachts using traditional fuel. With the Grande 36M, Azimut is showcasing a semi-walkaround upper deck that runs on the same level from the stern almost to the tip of the bow. The idea is to create an area that didn’t exist before on boats this size. Exterior design on the Azimut Grande 36M is by Alberto Mancini, with interiors by Achille Salvagni. The Azimut S7 is a 72-foot yacht built with Volvo Penta IPS propulsion and a “super-lightweight” hull for a sporty ride. Azimut says the S7 also reduces fuel consumption and harmful emissions by as much as 30 percent compared to shaft-line boats with traditional chine hulls. Exteriors are by Alberto Mancini, with interiors by Yachtique. wallywhy150The wallywhy150 is also expected to be on display at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, following its international debut at the recent Cannes Yachting Festival in France. Exterior spaces include a completely open upper deck with dining, sunbathing and a shaded lounge. Inside, there’s sole-to-ceiling glass for great views, with a main-deck master stateroom as well as guest staterooms belowdecks. The yacht can be ordered with a VIP and two guest staterooms, or with twin VIPs. New Yachts from the UK, Turkey, Poland, Australia and ChinaPrincess Yachts and Sunseeker International, both in the United Kingdom, will have new yachts at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Also from overseas will be new models from the Turkish builder Sirena Yachts, Polish builders Sunreef and Galeon, Australian builders Maritimo and Riviera, and China-based Aquila Power Catamarans and Ocean Alexander. Princess Yachts Y95The Princess Yachts Y95 is the new flagship of the builder’s Y Class series, which features open-flybridge models 72 feet and larger. This 95-footer can reportedly achieve a top hop of 24 knots, thanks to the twin 2,000 hp MAN V-12 engines, and it has a full-beam master stateroom on the main deck that lets in extra natural light through skylights. Guests are accommodated in four belowdecks staterooms. Draft is 6 feet, 6 inches, making the Princess Y95 a yacht that allows for access to the world’s most beautiful harbors. Sunseeker Ocean 182The Sunseeker Ocean 182, which was also displayed at the Newport International Boat Show, is an 88-foot yacht that is the fifth model in the builder’s Ocean series. It has an enclosed, air-conditioned flybridge that is home to the only helm station on board. Power is a pair of 1,650 hp or 1,900 hp MAN V-12s, with the builder promising a top speed of 27 knots. At a cruise speed of 12 knots, range is reportedly 1,800 nautical miles. All the guest accommodations are belowdecks: an amidships, full-beam master along with four guest staterooms. Turkish builder Sirena Yachts is bringing the Sirena 78 to the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Its design is by Cor D. Rover and Germán Frers, with the builder reporting a top speed of 27 knots as well as a cruising range of 1,550 nautical miles. Some of the key design features include a versatile flybridge with customizable spaces and sizable guest accommodations. The Superpowered Princess X80Princess Yachts is also bringing its X80 explorer motoryacht to the Fort Lauderdale show. Along with 31-knot speed and four en suite staterooms, the X80 has what the builder calls a “super flybridge.” Princess says this deck is 30 percent bigger than other flybridges on similarly sized flybridge yachts. This space has four gathering areas, including two sun pads forward, a wet bar aft and an L-shaped settee with a dining table to port. The X80’s main deck is dedicated entirely to socializing, with an L-shaped settee accompanied by a dining table forward. Galeon 450 HTCThe big premiere from Galeon Yachts at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will be the Galeon 450 HTC. It’s a Tony Castro design that can be ordered with an optional hydraulic swim platform and an optional third stateroom for guests. The standard layout is two staterooms with two heads, including a full-beam master. This yacht has a 4-foot, 3-inch draft that allows it to access skinny waters in locations like the Bahamas . Power is a pair of 480 hp Volvo Penta D6 engines. 80 Sunreef Power EcoPolish builder Sunreef Yachts will be making a big show of the first 80 Sunreef Power Eco , which has been christened SÓL (after the Norse sun goddess). Sunreef is heralding this vessel as the most advanced electric luxury catamaran in the world, with a “solar skin” built into the hull, and the biggest battery bank in its category of recreational yachts. Accommodations are for eight guests Maritimo M60 Flybridge Motor YachtMaritimo’s M60 Flybridge Motor Yacht will make its US debut at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Its hull has a variable deadrise with a deep keel, sharp bow entry and flattened progression aft, all intended for comfortable and efficient offshore cruising . Standard power is twin 800 hp Volvo Penta D13s. Owners also can opt for 1,000 hp Volvo Pentas or 1,150 hp Scania Di16s. Riviera 585 SUV: Does It AllRiviera says its multi-uses 585 SUV represents the “culmination of 10 years of evolution and the launch of more than 220 SUV yachts.” The yacht has three staterooms and three heads with a full-beam master amidships. In addition to its cruising, water-sports and angling flexibility, the 585 SUV is entertainment-centric with its sizable cockpit and semi-enclosed alfresco deck. Power is a pair of 900 hp Volvo Penta IPS1200s or 1,000 hp Volvo Penta IPS1350s. For flybridge enthusiasts, the builder is also debuting its 46 Sports Motor Yacht. Aquila 47 MolokaiBuilt in China, the Aquila 47 Molokai is the latest model from Aquila Power Catamarans. It’s outfitted for offshore cruising and fishing, with an en suite stateroom that’s air-conditioned and a queen-size berth. The design and build are a collaboration of Sino Eagle Yachts and Peart Yacht Design. Ocean Alexander 32 Legend: Crewed-Yacht LivingThe Ocean Alexander 32 Legend is a 120-foot superyacht penned by Evan K. Marshall, notable for its sole-to-ceiling glass across three decks, allowing for ocean vista from most points on board. From its seaside beach club to its foredeck lounge, rest and relaxation is at the forefront of this yacht’s design. Off the cockpit, power doors slide away allowing guests to enter the open-plan salon, which benefits from the aforementioned glass, enabling light to flood the space. A formal dining space for 10 is forward in the salon. The sense of volume and openness is palpable. The 32L has a main-deck master suite as well as four guest staterooms belowdecks. This yacht also has a skylounge with a wet bar, a TV, an ice-maker and a refrigerator, expanding entertaining options. Other alfresco spaces include a hot tub aft on the upper deck and a foredeck with a sun pad. Power is twin 2,600 hp MTU diesels. Riviera 46 Sports Motor YachtRiviera’s 46 Sports Motor Yacht is a part of a lineup that also includes 50, 64 and 72 Sports Motor Yachts. The Australian builder collaborated with 4D Designs on the 52-footer, which has a variety of entertaining spaces, from a semi-enclosed cockpit and the flybridge to the salon and foredeck sun pad. Belowdecks, there are three double-berth staterooms and two heads. Owners can also opt to add a hydraulic swim platform. Riviera has two power options for the 46: twin 725 hp Volvo Penta D11 IPS 950s or twin 600 hp Volvo Penta D8 IPS 800s. Built in the USA: Viking 90The Viking 90 made its official debut earlier this year at the Miami International Boat Show, but Hull No. 1 is still on its premiere-year tour. It’s been turning anglers’ heads out on the fishing circuit, hauling in big catch. All expectations are that it will continue to impress show-goers at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Viking 90: Ultimate FishabilityThe Viking 90 has a fuel capacity of 3,801 gallons in four tanks, which gives the yacht long legs for getting to and from the canyons to chase big game. It can be ordered with an enclosed or an open bridge, and it has a one-piece wraparound, enclosed-bridge windshield for improved visibility. The cockpit has 224 square feet of dance space with a 203-gallon fishbox/live well and a pair of 103-gallon insulated, in-deck fishboxes. Refrigeration on those fishboxes is optional. A Seakeeper 35 is installed to keep everything steady at sea, and the cockpit sole is built with reinforcement for a fighting chair. Viking 90: Interior Creature ComfortsWhen the day’s fishing is done, the Viking 90 has six staterooms (including a full-beam master) and seven heads to let everyone relax in comfort. There’s a U-shaped lounge in the salon, along with a home theater that includes a 65-inch high-definition TV. For more casual snacks, the galley has engineered-stone countertops with an overhang and five bar stools, along with a dinette on an elevated platform for great views of the outdoors. The yacht features a contemporary interior styled by Miami-based Design Studio JAC that utilises high-quality natural materials such as linens, natural stone, and European oak wall panelling. Similar to the FD110, full-height windows allow light to flood the yacht’s interior spaces and she also boasts a full beam master cabin. Length: 33.53 metres Builder: Sanlorenzo Following a successful debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival, the SP110 is gearing up to make its American debut. The hydrojet-powered sports yacht is the first in Sanlorenzo’s SP (Smart Performance) series and marks the brand’s entry into the sports yacht market. Marco Arnaboldi was responsible for the hull design, with Bernardo Zuccon designing its slender exterior and Piero Lissoni creating the interiors. Length: 27.10 metres Builder: Sunseeker British builder Sunseeker will be using the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show to introduce its 90 Ocean model to the American market. The yacht’s substantial beam and stem bow have created a 20% increase in overall volume and 25-30% more deck space. One of the yacht’s standout areas is its beach club, which incorporates X-Tend sunbeds that won the Innovation of the Year catergory at the BOAT International Design and Innovation Awards 2022. Length: 26.38 metres Builder: Sunseeker Having made its debut appearance at the 2021 Cannes Yachting Festival, Sunseeker’s 88 Yacht how now made it to US waters.
