What is the MSC Yacht Club? Take a look at MSC Cruises’ luxury suite area
MSC Cruises sails nearly two dozen beautiful ships from home ports around the world, but their inviting sun decks can be crowded, and you're likely to encounter queues for dinner, shows and guest services.
The trick to creating a more luxurious experience on this big-ship cruise line is to book a stay in the line's Yacht Club. This upscale enclave within MSC Cruises ' larger ships offers guests more spacious accommodations, butler service and dedicated restaurants and lounges — even coffee delivered to your room each morning, just the way you like it.
Because of the Yacht Club , MSC can offer an inviting experience for cruisers who like big-ship cruising but crave more elevated accommodations, dining and amenities. MSC Cruises was one of the first lines to introduce this ship-within-a-ship concept, along with Norwegian Cruise Line . Now other popular cruise lines, such as Royal Caribbean , also have adopted it.
The Yacht Club section on several of MSC Cruises' ships offers gated access to semi-private dining, butler service and more, but it comes at a price. Find out how much you can expect to pay and what you'll get for your money.

What are the MSC Yacht Club perks?
All stays in the Yacht Club include priority check-in and checkout; priority disembarkation and boarding on shore excursions days; free premium alcohol and Wi-Fi packages; a bathrobe and slippers; complimentary access to the Aurea Spa thermal suite; 24-hour concierge and butler services (dining and spa reservations, unpacking and repacking, morning coffee delivery, etc.); a free daily in-cabin newspaper of your choice, delivered; and the ability to change your cruise one time without penalty.
Yacht Club cruisers are also entitled to discounts of 10% on spa treatments, 20% on specialty dining packages and 40% on spa packages.
In addition, passengers booked in the Yacht Club have access to their own dedicated bar, lounge and restaurant, as well as a semi-private outdoor bar, pool and hot tubs, all on an exclusive sun deck. When ships dock at the line's private island, Ocean Cay Marine Reserve , Yacht Club passengers have private beach and restaurant access .
In their cabins, Yacht Club cruisers will find a pillow menu, memory foam mattresses, high-quality linens, bathrooms with marble floors, a specialty coffee maker, complimentary open minibar access, one gratis bottle of spirits (choose from a list of available options), free one-time snacks, 24-hour room service and nightly turn-down chocolates from Venchi, an Italian chocolatier that partners with the cruise line.
Which MSC cruise ships have the Yacht Club?
Thirteen ships in the MSC Cruises fleet have the Yacht Club on board:
- MSC Bellissima
- MSC Euribia
- MSC Fantasia
- MSC Grandiosa
- MSC Meraviglia
- MSC Preziosa
- MSC Seascape.
- MSC Seashore.
- MSC Seaside
- MSC Seaview
- MSC Splendida
- MSC Virtuosa
- MSC World Europa
Upcoming vessel MSC World America (2025) also will have the Yacht Club.
The largest Yacht Club in the fleet is on MSC World Europa, offering 152 suites. The second-largest is found on the line's two Seaside EVO Class ships, MSC Seashore and MSC Seascape, which each have 131 suites.
MSC Yacht Club cabins
All accommodations in the Yacht Club are labeled as suites, even though they comprise some standard cabin types. The specific stateroom types offered will vary by ship, but in general, they range from windowless interior cabins and deluxe balcony rooms to Executive and Royal Suites with more space, walk-in closets and bathrooms with both showers and bathtubs.
New to the fleet with the line's World Class are 1,600-square-foot Owner Suites, which include multi-room layouts, walk-in closets, bathtubs and balconies, each with a whirlpool and alfresco dining area.
Also new are Duplex Suites, offering two decks of space, with the bedroom and bathroom upstairs and a dining area, living room and guest bath downstairs. These also include two private sun decks with loungers, one of which boasts a whirlpool.
How much does it cost to stay in the MSC Yacht Club?
As you might expect, the cost to stay in the Yacht Club depends on several factors, including cabin type, the length of the sailing and where you're going and when. However, in line with the rest of the brand's pricing, a stay in the Yacht Club is an excellent value when you compare it to stays in other lines' dedicated suite areas or to luxury cruise prices.
I priced out several sailings departing over the next two years on some of the line's newest and largest ships. This is what was available at press time. (Note: MSC Cruises' website will only allow me to choose a general Yacht Club designation when booking. That means a guaranteed suite within the Yacht Club, but you won't know what type it is until closer to sailing.)
- 7-night Caribbean and Bahamas cruise on MSC Seascape: $6,538 (including taxes) for two adults, round trip from Miami, March 16-23, 2024
- 11-night Bermuda, Canada and New England cruise on MSC Meraviglia: $9,958 (including taxes) for two adults, round trip from Brooklyn, New York, Sept. 25-Oct. 6, 2024

I Sailed in MSC’s Yacht Club Luxury Suite Enclave — Here’s What It Was Like
I recently sailed onboard MSC Seashore from Port Canaveral, Florida, for a three-night cruise. During my trip on the Seaside-class mega-ship, I got to stay in a suite that was part of MSC Yacht Club , an exclusive sanctuary on board that’s sort of like a ship within a ship. These luxury enclaves are becoming more and more common , and usually feature pricier staterooms or suites that come with added perks like access to a private lounge, restaurant, pool, and sundeck, though inclusions vary by cruise line.
While a variety of lines now feature such enclaves, MSC and Norwegian are generally credited with pioneering the idea, and MSC introduced Yacht Club in 2008.
Today, Yacht Club is a private area accessible only via key card for those who booked Yacht Club suites. While Yacht Club does cater mostly to adults, it’s not an adults-only space.
Each Yacht Club suite is assigned a team of butlers who can help with whatever you need, from delivering coffee in the morning to escorting you off the ship for excursions. The area has a private restaurant, lounge, and a stunning pool deck with hot tubs, a bar, and plenty of comfortable seating. On Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the cruise line’s private island in The Bahamas, Yacht Club guests have access to a private beach with chairs, umbrellas, beach bar service, and an oceanside restaurant.
The price of your suite covers just about everything, including premium drink packages, a stocked mini-bar in your suite, high-speed internet, and access to the thermal suite in the spa. You’ll also get skip-the-line service to get onto the ship at embarkation, off the ship at ports of call, and be the first off the ship at disembarkation time.
What Does a Yacht Club Suite Cost?
The prices for suites depend on the sailing length, time of year, and the type of room booked. However, the average Yacht Club experience can be double the cost or more of booking a non-Yacht Club room. For example, a three-night sailing from Port Canaveral to the brand’s private island and Nassau, The Bahamas, in August 2024 is $3,350 for two people in a Yacht Club Deluxe Suite. The same cruise in an equivalent balcony cabin is $990 for two. Non-Yacht Club suites are priced at $1,390 for two people on this same cruise.
Other Yacht Club cabin styles include Interior Suites, Executive and Family Suites, two-story Duplex Suites, Royal Suites, and the Owner's Suite, which boasts a whopping 1,119 square feet, a 517 square-foot balcony, and a whirlpool.
What’s a Yacht Club Suite Like?
My Deluxe Grand Suite was more spacious than any other cruise cabin I’ve been in, regardless of the cruise line (they range from 269 square feet to 463 square feet). I loved that it had a partially sectioned-off sitting area that made the room feel like it had a bedroom and a living room, plus it had one of the largest balconies I’ve seen on a cruise ship. Depending on your Deluxe Grand Suite, balconies can vary from 86 to 129 square feet. The room had plenty of storage, and the bathroom was about the same size as mine at home with a large shower, toilet, sink, and plenty of counter space.
On MSC Seashore , the Yacht Club has 131 rooms, all of which can accomodate four people. The largest Yacht Club space is on MSC World Europa , with 152 suites.
What I Loved About My MSC Yacht Club Experience
Overall, my experience with the MSC Yacht Club was great. The Yacht Club takes over the forward section of decks 16, 18, 19, and 20 ( MSC Seashore does not have a deck 17) and I had to scan a wearable bracelet to get into the Yacht Club from the regular guest areas. Once I was inside the sanctuary of the Yacht Club I could use the private elevator to get to my cabin, the restaurant or lounge, and the pool.
I loved the Yacht Club Restaurant and Top Sail Lounge which were just a few steps from my cabin. Both spaces featured floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views of the ocean. The restaurant was elegant with white linens and beautiful place settings, while the lounge was a more casual hangout. Each morning I would walk to the lounge to get iced coffee, then head upstairs to sit at one of the restaurant tables. After a few meals, I really got to know my dining team — and more importantly, they got to know me and my dining and drinking preferences. Dishes at the Yacht Club Restaurant were elevated, including sea bass, filet mignon, and hand-made pasta. Every meal here was impeccable, as was the service. I also enjoyed that the menu for each service changed, so I was never eating the same thing twice, and there were always plenty of options to choose from.
I also loved the pool and the surrounding deck that was just for Yacht Club cruisers. This area offered a quieter oasis than the main pool, which was often brimming with guests. The Yacht Club pool deck also has an ample amount of shade and chairs, something I didn’t see at the main pool onboard. The Yacht Club pool is smaller than the main pool and doesn't have any views, but makes up for it by being relaxed, serene, and uncrowded.
One of the biggest perks of booking Yacht Club is the expedited service. This started right when I checked in at Port Canaveral, where a Yacht Club tent sat outside the terminal. I checked in and was escorted upstairs into the terminal to another Yacht Club-exclusive space to wait until I was called onboard. I was then taken to the ship by one of the Yacht Club butlers, who first brought me and a few other families to our muster station to check in for the safety drill before ushering us to the Yacht Club Lounge for drinks before lunch was served.
The expedited service didn’t stop at embarkation. After getting to my cabin and meeting my personal butler, he let me know that he could take me anywhere on the ship and that I could skip any lines. He could even take me to any specialty dining venue I wanted and have me seated almost immediately. There were also priority escorts and priority seating for the nightly shows.
When it was time to get off the ship and head to the private island, my butler met me in my room to take me down to the disembarkation point. I was then picked up by a golf cart and whisked to the Yacht Club-exclusive beach. At the beach, I booked a cabana for the day, and it just so happened that my room butler was on cabana duty, so he was also able to bring drinks, snacks, and anything else my heart desired.
What I Didn’t Love About My MSC Yacht Club Experience
While there are plenty of perks to the MSC Yacht Club experience, I also saw and experienced a few things that diminished the experience slightly. I wish the team, whether it be the front desk at the Yacht Club, my butler, or anyone else had explained all of the services that could be provided. For example, only on my last night did I see pizzas being delivered to rooms, which I would have gone for one evening when the seas were rough instead of eating in the Yacht Club restaurant.
The service in the lounge was hit or miss. There were a lot of great crew members taking care of the guests who booked the Yacht Club, but it seemed that in some instances special priority was given to guests who had already sailed on the ship and that the crew remembered.
The Bottom Line
If you’re looking for an elevated cruise experience where the only reason you would need to leave a private enclave is to get off the ship, then yes, the MSC Yacht Club is worth the cost. Nearly everything I wanted and needed for a long weekend away was included in the cost, and the level of service from the majority of the crew exceeded my expectations.

MSC Seascape...What are added perks of booking a YC Owner's Suite? Besides bigger space...

We are considering the OS on Seascape for our 20 year wedding anniversary. The amenities description is pretty much the same as the other YC categories. Are there additional perks that I'm missing? Like liquors in room, in suite dining? Specialty dining? Just doing a cost/value analysis...

In-suite bottles are yours. If you finish what you have, ask for more...no charge. If the selection doesn't appeal to you, ask for something to be swapped out.
A pergola/cabana is reserved for you on the Yacht Club sundeck. Just let someone know which one that you want for the cruise.
A (smallish) whirlpool on your balcony, which is rare in the Yacht Club, is a plus. The Royal Suite has a better whirlpool and a better balcony but the Owner's Suite has the better interior.
The floor to ceiling windows give a unique forward-facing view.
I prefer the Royal to the Owner's even if they were the same price but some people really like the extra space in the Owner's

One does score more hootch in the top YC suites, but it is just more of the limited selections from the "choose one" options given to the rest of YC. (I have seen the bar set in pictures and videos.) Of course, there is always a chance an ambitious butler would go to bat for you with the head butler and get a bottle swap. It would probably be two "room" bottles in trade for one bottle of a non-premium liquor you might prefer. Being on the cruise for a 20th anniversary may help your case. Unlike true luxury cruise lines, MSC limits in-room dining to the room service menu and the butler brings all the food at once, no course-by-course service. As explicit policy, dining room food only shows up at your door if you are confined by illness. Again, your special occasion, a hard-charging butler, and a sympathetic maître d' might get you in-room access to the dining room menu and possibly course-by-course, but I would not bet on it. Specialty dining remains either an add-on or something for the Diamonds, regardless of one's suite.

@morpheusofthesea is the undisputed guru on the topic of suite-included deck shelter. He could probably tell you exactly how many towels are required for a full closure of the shade gaps.

I must give credit where credit is due. @Two Wheels Only is the "Go To Guy" for everything MSC. I listen to what he suggests and then with a couple extra bucks $$ I push the envelope a little further.
P.S. Sometimes one must first prime the pump to get the water to flow.

This how MSC makes me feel when I travel in the Yacht Club.

By the way, I've seen that hat in the MSC Logo Shop. You have to go on one of the Tanzanite scavenger hunts to get the necklace, though.

Yes, the entire ensemble comes with the Royal and Owners suites and must be worn only on the One Pool Deck.

oh huh..... do i have to look like the golden one if i enter World Europa Maisonette in February? We'd booked it because of DW 60th. birthday.
It'll look like that:

Thanks all…for the great information and the laughs! 😂
@Georgia_Peaches Unlike Royal Caribbean and Celebrity, MSC does not appear to create a 'class difference' between occupants of their suites. The perks of the higher end suites with MSC appears, from my research, to be more about the accommodations than specialized services outside the yacht club, e.g. free specialty dining.

Yes, I tend to agree. Which is fine...it's saving us a ton of money. Opted for the YC Deluxe instead. Although, the accommodations look very nice. The thing that sealed it for me was the lack of half bath in the OS. DH said if he still has to find his morning spot why pay more?

We had the YC1 Deluxe Suite on our Divina cruise in February and it was just fine. This September we are on Seascape and have the YCP Grand Suite booked. Either of those are just fine with us, we just pick what's available at the time we book.

This is one of the things we miss from NCL Haven -- but it's not enough for us to give up YC. The restroom by the concierge desk is what BCD uses as his half bath. 😉

Like BCD, I'm betting DH has scoped this area as well. Isn't it nice that our guys think of such things?

And even better when they stop by TSL on the way back with a drink for us!

The World ships' two-bathroom duplex suites are nicer and in the YC area, unlike the old "outpost" duplex suites. So that's something to consider once World America is in business.

I found it quite convenient a I could ask the Concierge Desk to watch the pot of hot water I got for my wife's tea when I found it necessary to make use of that facility on the way back to the room from the bar in the lounge with the pot of hot water.

Postcards from Gulag
Photographs from the remnants of the gulag archipelago, watchtower, perm-36, perm krai.
Perm-36 is allegedly the only Gulag camp that has been turned into a museum. While this is not strictly true (there are other former camps that have been partly preserved) and Perm-36 is heavily reconstructed, the museum has conserved an important part of the Soviet camp system, especially from its latter era after the death of Stalin. Perm-36 camp operated from the 1940s until the last days of the Soviet Union, and it was meant mainly for the political prisoners and dissidents. Among the dense forests of Russia near the Ural mountains stands a solitary watchtower of the former camp. Behind it, inside the zona , one finds relics of the barracks, but somehow the tower itself, a symbol as poignant as barbed wire, communicates the utter isolation of Gulag victims.
