Price drop on Husumer motor yacht Sanssouci Star

The 53.52 metre Husumer motor yacht Sanssouci Star , jointly listed for sale by NEXT Yachting and Bernard Gallay, has seen a price reduction €650,000. 

Built in steel and aluminium at the German Husumer Schiffswerft yard to a design by Gebr Kroger & Co , she was initially delivered in 1982 at a length of 37 meters and has been extended twice, first in 1984 and then in 2001, to her current length.

Sanssouci Star  can accommodate 12 guests in seven cabins. The master suite, situated on the upper deck has a king size bed, a living room area and a well-appointed en suite bathroom. There are two VIP double cabins on the main deck, then two doubles and two twins situated on the lower deck. All cabins on this  yacht for sale  have en suite bathroom facilities.

The interior has a traditional and classic style. On the main deck there is a spacious saloon which includes an English style bar and a dining room with two large tables seating up to 18 guests.

Towards the aft of the upper bridge deck there is a covered gym area, then further aft an open seating area, storage for the main tender and a hydraulic crane. On the main deck aft there is a private and enclosed seating area with a large circular teak table which can accommodate 10 guests. Her top speed is 15 knots and she boasts a maximum cruising range of 7,000 nautical miles at 12 knots with power coming from two 1,285.0hp MTU 12V396TC62 diesel engines.

Sanssouci Star  is now asking €2,250,000.

SANSSOUCI STAR is a 53-meter twin-screw displacement motor yacht built at the German Husumer Schiffswerft shipyard. Originally launched at a length of 37 meters, she has since undergone two extensions, first in 1984 and then in 2001, reaching her current impressive size. 

Accommodating up to 12 guests across seven staterooms, SANSSOUCI STAR offers unparalleled luxury and comfort. The Master suite, located on the upper deck, boasts a king-size bed, a private living room area, and a well-appointed en-suite bathroom. On the main deck, there are two VIP double cabins, while the lower deck features two double cabins and two twin cabins, all equipped with en-suite facilities.

The interior exudes a timeless and classic style, with a spacious saloon on the main deck featuring an English-style bar and a dining room equipped with two large tables accommodating up to 18 guests.

Outside, ample space awaits for entertainment and relaxation. Can Dündar to open the M100 Sanssouci Colloquium

Potsdam, 19 July, 2017 . “Democracy or Despotism? The Renaissance of Dark Powers” is the topic of this year’s M100 Sanssouci Colloquium . And Can Dündar , editor-in-chief of the Turkish-German news platform “Özgürüz” and former editor-in-chief of the Turkish newspaper “Cumhuriyet“, is particularly familiar with this year’s topic.

As a result of his reporting on secret Turkish arms deliveries to extremists in Syria, Dündar and his colleague Erdem Gül were sentenced to a lengthy prison term by a Turkish court of first instance. Hence, he lived in exile for more than one year. While Dündar could escape abroad, his wife’s passport was taken away and Dilek is not allowed to leave the country anymore. Beforehand, Dündar stated at the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2016 that Turkey was the only modern, secular country with a Muslim majority. But in the meantime, it slowly developed to an Islamic dictatorship. “We are losing this country”, Dündar emphasized. Following the attempted coup in Turkey, Dündar announced that he would not return to Turkey as long as the state of emergency was still in place. A condition of “lawlessness” prevailed since the coup attempt, he said, and he no longer had any trust in the Turkish justice system.

The award-winning Dündar regularly writes columns for the weekly paper “DIE ZEIT”. In cooperation with the non-profit research network “Correctiv!”, he has launched the bilingual journalistic platform “Özgürüz” in January 2017. In Turkey the page is blocked.

Dündar takes part in the M100 Sanssouci Colloquium for the second time. This year more than 70 editors-in-chief, historians and representatives of political institutions from 21 countries will discuss political visions and concrete strategies in an international order under new auspices, the crumbling of the democratic order as well as the media in light of rapidly changing operating conditions in the Orangery of Sanssouci in Potsdam.
