Sunseeker reorganizes the Executive Team

Sunseeker International has announced important changes to its Executive Management Team. Jason Stewart (Director of Commercial Finance) and Dean Lawler (Director of Controlling and FPA) will now take positions on the Executive Committee.

Jason has worked at Sunseeker for 10 years in senior roles predominantly within the Finance function but also covering areas such as Customer Services Director and Director of IT. Dean Lawler has worked with Sunseeker for five years, originally as head of Commercial Finance before taking the role as Director of Controlling and FPA. Prior to joining Sunseeker, Dean had over 12 years’ experience working in senior Finance roles.

Mike Wheeler who has been a non-executive director since 2015 will have oversight of the finance function. Mike is a former senior partner at KPMG.

Timon Orlob will take over as COO being a natural move from his current Operations Director role. Timon has worked with Sunseeker for four years and has a history of senior roles within production environments.

Finally, Ewen Foster currently Director of Design and Naval Architecture will take the position of CTO after working at Sunseeker for over 25 years.

Andrea Frabetti continues as CEO and will lead the Executive team with his vast experience working within the marine industry for over 30 years.

Andrea Frabetti will continue to hold the role of CEO, leading the executive team with his extensive experience in the marine industry, acquired in over 30 years of activity.

Sunseeker announces new CEO

Andrea frabetti will replace christian marti as ceo of the british superyacht builder with immediate effect….

Sunseeker, the British superyacht manufacturer, has announced that Andrea Frabetti, currently chief technical officer at Sunseeker, will replace Christian Marti as CEO with immediate effect. Prior to his time at Sunseeker, Frabetti worked at Italian superyacht manufacturer Ferretti Group for over 25 years, including time as vice president of product development, as well as at Diesel Center SPA as CEO. Marti came on board as Sunseeker’s CEO in November 2018 following the departure of Phil Popham.

“On behalf of Dalian Wanda, we would like to thanks Christian for his input, professionalism and leadership. Christian leaves Sunseeker in a very healthy position focussed on its future growth,” comments John Zeng, the board representative for Sunseeker’s majority shareholder, Dalian Wanda. “We have work with the Sunseeker executive management team to create the strategic committee and we are confident that Sunseeker, with the continued support of Dalian Wanda, will be in an even stronger position to grow on its success.”

Frabetti, according to the yard, will work closely with Mike McMillan (CFO) and Michael Straughan to form a new strategic framework for the business and drive the Sunseeker brand forward. The strategic committee will continue to work closely with the current executive management team Adrian Powell, Sean Robertson, Barbara Baker (as interim HR director) and Sian Dodds on return from maternity leave, building on the trading success of 2018 and formalising a more product-facing organisation structure and robust global distribution network.

“Since his arrival at Sunseeker at the beginning of the year, Andrea has been devising an exciting new product plan that has been developed in conjunction with the Sunseeker management team,” comments a Sunseeker representative. “The focus for the company moving ahead will be on the new product development plan supported by excellence in operations, an engaged workforce and a strong commercial focus to drive profitable growth.

A new manufacturing programme has been developed in order to increase the efficiency and continued high quality of Sunseeker’s production line. As part of this process, the company will be looking at all aspects of the business to enable it to be as streamlined as possible.

At the opposite end, the stern is equipped with a hydraulic swim platform and a fixed sun lounger that is integrated into the garage door. (The garage can accommodate a 20-foot tender and two Jet Skis.) Up the stairs and through the glazed safety gates lies the aft cockpit, or what Sunseeker describes as a “penthouse terrace.” The alfresco space sports a sizable bar and plenty of comfy seating.

The light and airy living quarters were brought to life by Design Unlimited. Rich stone finishes create a sumptuous feel, while reflective surfaces and statement lighting add brightness onboard. Spanning 1,300 square feet, the open-plan main deck gives seafarers uninterrupted views from the dining area to the salon. The generous galley is located on the port side and allows the crew to easily service all areas.

Further forward on the starboard side sits the owner’s suite. Furnished to the highest standards, the stateroom is adorned with an upholstered bed, chaise lounge, mirror TV, marble bulkheads, and floor-to-ceiling windows. It leads to a dressing room with a vanity desk and a marble-clad en suite with dual basin and a walk-in rain shower. In addition, two spacious double staterooms and two twins on the lower deck can sleep 10 guests, while three cabins at the bow can accommodate five crew.
