Most people know two things about Tiger Woods' yacht: It's big, and it is named Privacy . As you would expect from someone who names his boat Privacy , Woods has never revealed much information about his yacht. But we can put together a profile of the yacht based on other sources of public information about it.

How Big Is Woods' Yacht?

There are some basics about the Woods' yacht that are known to be true. For example, it's 155 feet long. That's a big boat for an individual owner, but it's nowhere near the size of the biggest yachts on the seas (which top 500 feet in length), and it's not even the biggest yacht owned by a golfer: Greg Norman has a yacht that is nearly 230 feet in length.

But hey, give him a break: Woods purchased the boat in 2004. He can always get a new one if a 155-foot, 2004-vintage yacht starts to feel a little cramped in size.

How Much Woods' Boat Cost to Buy

Woods bought his yacht from Christensen Shipyards in Vancouver, Wash., for a reported $20 million. According to Power and Motor Yacht magazine, Tiger's yacht is a "155 Trideck Motor Yacht known as Hull 026."

(Ironically, the shipbuilders of Woods' Privacy allegedly violated the golfer's privacy, according to a subsequent lawsuit that Woods filed against Christensen. Woods claimed in his suit that the shipbuilders, contrary to agreement, used Woods' name and photos to promote their business. MSNBC.com reported in 2006 that the suit was settled in Woods' favor for $1.6 million.)

Woods took delivery of his yacht in time for his wedding to Elin Nordegren in 2004; the couple spent their wedding night aboard the Privacy . The Palm Beach Post has reported that it was Nordegren, prior to the wedding, who made most of the interior decorating choices for the boat.

Tiger's yacht is docked at a marina in North Palm Beach, Fla. (It is believed that Tiger Woods' house in Jupiter Island, Fla., has enough room on its Intracoastal Waterway frontage to berth Woods' yacht, although, as far as we know, Woods has never docked it there.)

Amenities, Crew and More Details About Woods' Yacht

Power and Motor Yacht magazine has reported that the Privacy has a 12,000-gallon fuel tank that will take the boat 4,000 miles, with a top speed of 17 knots.

The yacht is reported to have 6,500 square feet of living and work space and a capacity to sleep up to 21 people in a master suite and five guest rooms. It includes, according to various sources, a gym and theater, and carries multiple watercraft such as jet skis. It takes a crew of nine to operate.

People magazine has reported of Woods' yacht that it "offers all the comforts of home and then some: a 2,000-gallon water tank, five guestrooms, a Jacuzzi, a gym, an elevator, a sky-lounge bar, a walk-in refrigerator, a deck dining area that seats 12, and two built-in wall safes."

That's a nice boat!

Tiger's Other Boat: The Solitude

Woods also owns another boat, a 61-footer named Solitude . The Solitude is a dive boat: a boat scuba diving enthusiasts use to to get out to their diving destinations. It's not a yacht, in other words, but it's a good guess that as dive boats go the Solitude is a mighty fine one. It was custom built, according to People Magazine , for a cost of from $2 million to $3 million, by a company named Garlington Landeweer Marine. According to the magazine, the Solitude is docked at Pirate’s Cove Resort & Marina, about 10 minutes from Woods' estate in Jupiter Island, Fla.

Tiger Woods Yacht: Everything You Want To Know

Ian Fortey

Tiger Woods is one of only three professional athletes in the world who has achieved billionaire status alongside LeBron James and Michael Jordan. As you can imagine, with that kind of cash comes the ability to buy a very nice boat and in 2004 he shelled out for an impressive toy. He purchased the yacht with his ex-wife just before their 2004 wedding and they apparently spent their wedding night on board, so it was something of a wedding gift to themselves.

What’s the Name of Tiger Woods’ Yacht?

tiger woods yacht tracker

Woods chose to name his yacht Privacy, and you may know the story behind that one to a greater or lesser degree. When the yacht was commissioned back in 2004, Woods actually ended up suing the yacht maker Christensen. The company, at the time a fairly well known and reliable shipyard, had been using Wood’s name and images of the yacht and Woods himself in their promotional materials. So, basically, trying to get business off of his name and the work they did for him.

Woods sued the company and by 2006 the case was settled out of court. The yacht makers had nothing to say on the record regarding the case, the yacht or Woods after that.

In addition to this scandal, Woods has been constantly in the eye of the media and the paparazzi for most of his career, including some well known scandals that happened even after he bought the yacht, so the Privacy name was well chosen.

How Big is Tiger Woods Yacht?

tiger woods yacht tracker

Tiger Woods’ yacht is a respectable 155 feet in length with a 29.5 foot beam. It features three decks and while it’s nowhere near one of the largest yachts in the world , it’s actually one of the biggest celebrity-owned yachts on the water. Most of the larger vessels out there are owned by industrialists, royalty and other titans in the business world.

How Fast is Tiger Woods Yacht?

Word is that Privacy has a cruising speed of about 16 knots with a top speed of 18 knots. Not a speed demon by any means, but no one buys a 155-foot long yacht for racing. It’s powered by two 1,800-horsepower MTU engines and features a 12,000 gallon fuel tank. The yacht has a range of 4,000 nautical miles.

How Much Did Tiger Woods’ Yacht Cost?

In 2004, Woods is said to have dropped about $20 million on his super yacht. Again, not nearly the most expensive yacht in the world but clearly quite an expensive vessel in its own right. Because it’s such a large vessel it requires a crew of 9 to keep it operating. That, along with the fuel costs for that big 12,000 gallon tank and various other costs of operation means it costs Woods an additional $2 million or so per year to keep the boat running.

What’s the Interior of Tiger Woods Yacht Like?

With a name like Privacy it’s no surprise that there aren’t a ton of details about Woods’ yacht but, that said, it’s been nearly 20 years so it’s been around long enough that we do know a good deal of what’s going on inside the ship. He once gave the Golf Channel a tour and they were able to snap some still images that give an idea of what it’s like inside which you can check out in the video above.

The boat was designed to accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 staterooms. There’s an additional four cabins that can handle the crew members. The VIP stateroom is aft and there are two queen size cabin amidships as well as a twin cabin. All told there’s said to be about 6,500 square feet of living space on board. The upper deck of the vessel is also an observation deck for those looking to just relax and enjoy the view.

tiger woods yacht tracker

Woods has been known to live on the yacht when he’s golfing, rather than staying at hotels like some other golfers. He first lived on board during the 2006 US Open at Winged Foot Golf Club. Later, he was aboard Privacy during the 2018 US Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club on Long Island in New York, and then again during the 2019 PGA Championship.

tiger woods yacht tracker

There’s a gym as you’d probably expect for the yacht of an athlete. It’s said to house a treadmill, exercise bike, and free weights. There’s also a jacuzzi tub big enough for eight people at a time. In addition, there’s a movie theater on board as well as a well-stocked bar.

The dining area is large and opulent, as you’d expect, and there is room for 12 guests to enjoy a meal. With so many people eating you’d need a well-stocked kitchen and it seems like the yacht has a walk-in fridge in the galley so there’s little worry about not having enough on board to keep everyone fed.

tiger woods yacht tracker

When it comes to having fun, the yacht has a few water toys available for Woods and his guests. There are three jet skis on board as well as a pair of ocean kayaks. When you reach land there are even two Vespa scooters you can take out. There’s also scuba gear and apparently an entire decompression chamber. You can also fill up the air tanks on board as well.

As for the finer details, that stuff is still kind of up in the air as Woods has not let many people on board to photograph anything in the years he’s owned the vessel. Some of those who have been aboard describe the interior as being pretty classical as far as yachts go. Features are done in cherry woodwork and there’s supposed to be a staircase connecting the three decks with transparent steps and a cherry handrail. Of course, if you’re not inclined to be doing any stair climbing on a yacht, there’s an elevator on board as well.

tiger woods yacht tracker

The main floor is designed with an open concept to take advantage of the flow of the whole vessel and, of course, ensure that passengers get to enjoy the most of not just the features but the views while they’re out on the water.

Alongside that 12,000 gallon fuel tank, there’s a 2,000 gallon water tank to keep freshwater on board for crew and passengers. Two 99-kilowatt Northern Lights generators provide electrical power to keep the lights on for everyone.

Details on any security features are definitely scant, but it’s been said there are at least two safes on board for passengers to store valuables if need be.

What is the Solitude?

You may have heard that Woods has a boat named Solitude as opposed to Privacy. Well, as far as we can tell, he owns both. Solitude was purchased back in 2010 and the rumored price was $3 million. Solitude was bought as a dive boat as opposed to a luxury yacht that Woods planned to be living on while he’s golfing in coastal cities.

As we mentioned above, the Privacy has a decompression chamber, scuba gear and more scuba-related amenities. Woods is an avid scuba diver as was his ex-wife. He even learned free-diving and spearfishing. The dive boat seems to have been purchased to more specifically focus on the hobby for his ex, with whom he is still friends.

The Bottom Line

Tiger Woods’ yacht called Privacy cost him around $20 million back in 2004. It’s a 155-foot vessel with room for 10 passengers and 9 crew including an interior VIP stateroom. It features a good deal of fun water toys like Sea Doos, two ocean kayaks, and scuba gear for the scuba diving fans, as well as a full twin cabin gym, a jacuzzi, a sweeping staircase, and more. Woods still makes frequent use of the yacht and even lives on board when he’s working various golf tours and opens.

Tiger Woods wins the Masters for the fifth time

The win comes after an eleven year drought for the golf legend.

Reigning Masters Champion Tiger Woods is scheduled to play in the PGA Championship in New York on May 16 but his glamorous yacht has apparently already docked.

The PGA Championship will be held at the Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale. The golf superstar’s yacht, named “Privacy,” was spotted about 13 miles away — in Oyster Bay, according to MarineTraffic.com .

An Oyster Bay Marine Center staffer told Golf.com they weren't sure if Woods was in the area.

“I don’t know if he’s here, but that’s his boat,” the staffer confirmed. “I really don’t know too much, but I know it’s [Woods’ boat].”

It was not immediately clear if Woods would be staying on his yacht during the tournament.

Tiger Woods’ $20 million yacht Privacy: Pictures, length, features

tiger woods yacht tracker

Back in 2004, Tiger Woods spent $20 million he had lying around to buy a massive yacht he famously named Privacy.

Get it? He wants privacy -- and he did long before he made $1 billion, earned a net worth in the hundreds of millions, had two kids and got divorced. Now, Woods will potentially make Privacy his home base to compete in the rare PGA Tour event he plays at this stage of his career.

Woods' yacht, which is 155 feet long, is every bit worth the $20 million price tag. Privacy has three stories on it, including a main deck, a second level and an observation deck.

Woods had a bedroom and living quarters on Privacy so he can stay on his yacht in lieu of staying at a rented home or hotel when he plays in golf tournaments near the dock. He stayed on Privacy during the 2006 US Open at Winged Foot Golf Club, and he missed the cut in his first tournament back to competition since the death of his father Earl. He stayed on Privacy throughout the 2018 US Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in the Hamptons on Long Island in New York, as well the 2019 PGA Championship, also on Long Island.

Privacy has five bedrooms and can hold 10 people staying on board. There are also four separate cabins for crew members, good enough to hold a crew of nine. There's a jacuzzi for eight, too. There's a bar and a gym on board. Everything features cherry wood appointments. The boat even has an elevator for three.

Woods' boat has the capacity to carry other water vehicles, including multiple jet skis and/or kayaks. There's a decompression space for SCUBA diving.

The pair of 1,800-horsepower engines fuel the boat, which has the capacity to hold 12,000 gallons of fuel. Multiple generators provide electric power for the boat, too.

A look inside Tiger Woods' sick $20 million yacht

Tiger Woods figured out the best way to beat the crazy traffic that golfers and fans will encounter while trying to get to Shinnecock Hills.

He's staying on his 155-foot yacht, Privacy, which is docked near the home of the 2018 U.S. Open.

"Staying on the dinghy helps," Woods said on Tuesday, via USA TODAY Sports .

Ever wondered what's inside of that $20 million "dinghy"? Golf Channel got a peek, and as expected, it's incredible:

Tiger Woods' $20M Yacht Named "Privacy" Is Chock-Full of Awesome Amenities

Back in 2004, 82-time PGA Tour event winner Tiger Woods decided to make a sizable purchase on a 155-foot yacht, which he named "Privacy." It cost him a cool $20 million, but he's certainly gotten his use out of it. Honestly, Tiger Woods has been one of the most successful golfers in the world, and with his net worth of $800 million today, it probably didn't hurt his wallet too much.

Most recently last year, he sent the massive superyacht to Oyster Bay in Long Island, New York, just two weeks before the 2019 PGA Championship, so that when it was over, he would have a luxurious ride back to his home in Jupiter Island, Florida.

Tiger Woods' yacht is pretty epic, as you might expect from the price tag, so let's check out some of the details about this spectacular vessel.

A Look at Tiger Woods' Yacht

View this post on Instagram A post shared by L World Yachting Group (@lworldyachting)

Let's start off by talking about the fact that this beauty has three floors with a three-person elevator to easily move you from the main deck to the observation deck. Because of its sheer size, it comes equipped with a pair of 1,800-horsepower engines and a huge tank capable of holding 12,000 gallons of fuel. Although they are thirsty, these engines can take the vessel to a top speed of 17 knots.

There are nine bedrooms total, however, four of them are used by the nine crew members that work onboard the luxury yacht. Of course, Woods' boat features tons of entertainment and amenities for the guests, including a bar, a VIP stateroom, a full gym with all the free weights you'll need, and even an eight-person jacuzzi. If you're looking for a real adventure, you'll even find a decompression chamber for scuba diving. Even with all this, there's still additional room to store all of Woods' toys like ocean kayaks, Sea-Doo jet skis, a dinghy, and some Vespa scooters. There's pretty much no cooler way to show up to a golf club or the U.S. Open than this thing.

If I were to guess, I'd assume Tiger spent a good amount of time on his yacht Privacy during this whole COVID-19 pandemic, since it really doesn't get more ideal than this. Woods has won four different PGA championships, and he's been proving his talent on the course for many years, so next time you're at a major golf event, just look for the 155-foot yacht, and you'll know the legend has arrived.

Tiger Woods just confirmed he's avoiding US Open traffic by staying on his $20 million, 155-foot yacht — and he called it a 'dinghy'

  • Tiger Woods confirmed to the media on Tuesday that he is indeed staying on his huge yacht during the US Open, one of golf's biggest competitions.
  • Woods even called his $20 million, 155-foot yacht a "dinghy."

  • The US Open begins Thursday.

Tiger Woods just confirmed to the media that he is indeed staying aboard his $20 million, 155-foot yacht during the US Open — and he even called it his "dinghy."

Page Six was first to report on the rumor that Woods had berthed his yacht, called Privacy, in the Hamptons last week.

The yacht is now in Sag Harbor, a 30-minute drive from Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, the site of this year's US Open, one of the biggest competitions in golf. It begins on Thursday.

Woods said that staying aboard the yacht is a huge plus because it provides the perfect respite from the "tournament scene" and reduces traffic chaos en route to the competition.

"Sag Harbor is a cute little town," he told journalists at a pre-tournament USGA event on Tuesday. "I've only been there for a few days now. I haven't really got a chance to walk about a little bit, but I certainly will this week. So far it's been nice to kind of get away from the tournament scene and go there to my dinghy there and just really enjoy it."

Check out the yacht:

Here's Woods in the yacht's actual dinghy:

One journalist jokingly asked Woods whether he felt weird that Privacy was not even the "biggest yacht in the yard." Woods laughed and said, "I'm not opposed to that."

Woods bought Privacy in 2004. It has a top speed of 17 knots, is big enough to sleep 17 people, and has a theater, a gym, and a Jacuzzi.

How Marvel Built A Billion-Dollar Empire: From Iron Man To Avengers: Endgame And Beyond

The cast of transformers one, ranked by net worth, robert downey jr.'s remarkable journey, from rock bottom to box office gold, quick links, it's all in the name, and it's all in tiger’s game, spending big on luxury, the yacht’s maintenance cost.

Tiger Woods has been living life in his very own 'heaven-on-earth' yacht, named Privacy, during the U.S open. Docked near the Shinnecock Hills in New York, Woods chose the more convenient yet costly approach to steer clear of the horrendous traffic golfers encounter on their way to the game. Privacy has affluently given in Five staterooms for guests, four rooms for the crew, a gym, an eight-person hot tub, kayaks, scooters, and whatnot. This absurdly large and exotically expensive watercraft has been one of Tiger’s most significant investments . Besides traveling to the Bahamas for the Hero World Challenge, Tiger has taken this lump-some beauty in many different locations.

The Privacy yacht of Tiger Woods has a palatial prominence in the large luxury club of big boats. One must be aware of Privacy’s multifaceted facilities and amenities it tags along with for Woods and his ventures.

Privacy, as what Tiger titled the mega 55 million dollar custom-built watercraft he owns, was kept that name so he could keep his personal life relatively private. Emerging a website for the same, Tiger Woods and his alleged affairs and life have always been a private game for the world.

This 100-footer has been crafted and modeled after James Bond’s submarines and was made very clear about his prime-time derived inspiration. Woods’ Privacy yacht is no less than luxury on the water for a capacity of more than one person’s needs with its crew pack of nine members, a three-person-elevator, and an eight-person jacuzzi fitting. The yacht inhibits a travel speed of approximately 17 knots, making the watercraft an excellent choice of Woods, eschewing away the road traffic.

This commodious 47-meter creation also covers a large bar, a station to fill scuba tanks, and an inflatable decompression chamber, making it plush and posh for the up-market. The cherry woodwork has beautifully encompassed the interiors of this big boat with a VIP stateroom aft and two queen-size cabins amidship and a twin cabin, making ample room for Woods and his frequent tour buddies, as rightly mentioned in USA today .

The workout room has been converted into the fitness space from the lush cabin it originally was crafted as. Tiger’s workout necessitates a treadmill, exercise bike, and free weights being ornately equipped in the arena. The transparent stairs and a cherry handrail add the oomph to the yacht from an aesthetic point of view.

Tiger’s open floor plan entails a main living area with only a single divider between the saloon and the dining room. The functionalities cost up to 2 million dollars a year to operate smoothly. Tiger, the highest-paid athlete's yacht, is a trifold fiberglass motor yacht with a numbing 9-meter beam up in the roar. The motor force on the yacht derives from a pair of 1,800 hp MTU/Detroit Diesel motors, while two 99 kilowatt Northern Lights generators providing electrical power are the substantial swanking components.

Tiger Woods’ yacht can carry three SeaDoos, two ocean kayaks, and two Vespa scooters, and that’s not all it. This massive boat can hold up to a whopping 12,000 gallons of gas. Powered by twin 1800-horsepower, the type of fuel aggravates the support the best of this booming boat craft, as stated in the Yacht Harbour .

The golf player surely doesn’t face costing issues for his water mansion. Privacy costs around 2,40,000 dollars per week which count up to 1.6 million dollars gushing in water, technically per year. Wood’s numbers plummet quite a bit if the boat's utility has extended periods.

Tiger’s net worth pulls all strings to maintain such a luxury lifestyle with the Privacy boat, as he’s made more than 100 million dollars single-handedly during his career. Residing his heart near the boundless beauty, Antigua - right on a beach with his own beautiful home, thus privacy is safe, secured, and un-stowed when he’s not using it.

The 14-time major champion in golf with a net worth of approximately $700 million has a stunner crew for this super-boat. The ship’s operating budget floats around for the yacht maintenance and crew member salaries - two-thirds of operating expenses, excluding the benefits. The shining nine members help the boat afloat and manage the supplies, food, and other miscellaneous costs such as paying off fines imparted on by authorities - which also takes away one-third of the cost as revealed in Wheels inquirer .

Being an ultimate lump of luxury on the water, Privacy has not failed to shock and surprise us with the available amenities and provisions for Tiger and his ventures.

Tiger Woods plays a practice round ahead of the 2023 Masters.

Tiger Woods will get his 2023 Masters campaign started at 10:18 a.m. ET on Thursday, and we can’t wait to watch the Big Cat plod around Augusta National Golf Club for the 25th time in his storied career. If, for some unfortunate reason, you can’t watch Tiger play his first round, we’ve got you covered with live updates of every shot and video highlights along the way.

The Tiger Tracker is officially live.

Live updates for Tiger Woods’ first round at the Masters

Tiger Woods plays a practice round ahead of the 2023 Masters.

Tiger Woods’ first round at the Masters will begin at 10:18 a.m. ET. He’ll be playing with Viktor Hovland and Xander Schauffele for the first two rounds of the tournament.

Hole No. 1, Par 4, 445 yards

-From top to bottom, it’s a dark blue hat, white Nike polo, dark blue pants, and white shoes for Tiger. Clean look for Day 1.

-“Fore please. Tiger Woods, now driving.” Never gets old.

"Fore please. Tiger Woods, now driving." Tiger's round is underway at #TheMasters pic.twitter.com/i2hHFt4JaA — ESPN (@espn) April 6, 2023

-Smooth driver for Woods down the right center of the fairway. We’re off.

-Barely any limp for Tiger as he strides up the first fairway. That didn’t hold up at Augusta National last year, so we’ll keep monitoring.

-Buttery smooth iron swing from 153 yards out, but he comes up nearly 40 feet short of the pin. A par on No. 1 would still be a fine start.

-Not a great lag putt there, as it stops a few feet short of the hole. Early tester coming.

-No problem for Woods. For a man who’s 18 over par on the first hole in his Masters career, that’s a great start.

Par, E thru 1

Hole No. 2, Par 5, 575 yards

-First birdie opportunity of the day. Let’s see if Tiger can keep up with the young guns with this tee shot.

-Oops. Flared that driver to the right, and he’s in the fairway bunker. It’ll be a layup for Woods on the first par 5 of the day.

-Pretty simple layup for Tiger there. He’ll have 142 to a simple pin. Let’s throw a dart, shall we?

-Oof. The downhill lie definitely affected that approach shot, as Woods goes long and right to the back portion of the green. Similar distance to his putt on No. 1 coming up.

-Bit of a double-breaker there, and Tiger gave it a good run. Maybe too good, though, as it slides a few feet past the hole. He’s not making this easy.

-Dead center to secure the par. Speed on the greens hasn’t been great so far, but he’s got plenty of time to dial it in.

Par, E thru 2

Hole No. 3, Par 4, 350 yards

-That’s more like it. Easy driver down the left side of the fairway on 3. He’s got a 50-yard pitch shot upcoming.

-Went upstairs with that one, and he must not have hit it cleanly. Pitch shot comes up short of the green and rolls back down the hill a bit. Oh boy.

-Goes the low route with his third shot and finds a better result. About eight feet down the slope for his third straight par.

-No, sir. Didn’t break to the right like he thought. That’s a bogey, and a sloppy one at that. To make matters worse, Woods is about to enter arguably the toughest three-hole stretch on the golf course.

Bogey, +1 thru 3

Hole No. 4, Par 3, 180 yards

-Decent tee shot from Tiger that finds the correct shelf on this severely sloped green. He’ll have 30 feet for his first birdie of the day.

Tiger Woods tees off on the 4th He is currently +1 https://t.co/Kd3QTta0Y1 — Fanatics Sportsbook (@FanaticsBook) April 6, 2023

-That was good speed, but the birdie putt slides by on the low side. It’s a tap-in par on the first par 3 of the day.

Par, +1 thru 4

Hole No. 5, Par 4, 495 yards

-The fifth consistently ranks as one of the hardest holes at Augusta National every year, so par would be a great score here for Tiger.

-There’s another nice tee shot from Woods. Down the middle with a smooth fade, and he’ll have 214 left.

-Rut Roh. Tiger hits the green with his approach shot, but he left himself a 50-footer up and over a huge ridge. This won’t be an easy two-putt, especially considering how off his speed has been so far.

-Good, not great speed on that lengthy effort. Woods will have another tester to save par from about five feet. Can he keep making these to keep himself in this thing?

-Narrator: No, no he cannot. Lipped out on the left edge to drop another shot. When do we press the panic button?

Bogey, +2 thru 5

Hole No. 6, Par 3, 191 yards

-Tiger has hit some brilliant tee shots on this hole over the years, and this one was pretty darn close. Right over the flagstick to about 12 feet. Man, this one would be big.

-For those wondering, Woods has never missed the cut at the Masters as a professional. His only MC came in 1996 when he was 20 years old.

-That was… not a great effort. Comes up a few rotations short and left of the hole, and it’ll be a disappointing par on the sixth. Woods might need to start picking up the aggressiveness.

Par, +2 thru 6

Hole No. 7, Par 4, 450 yards

-The seventh is the straightest hole on the golf course, and Tiger splits the middle with a driver. It’s time to fire at some pins, big guy.

-Oh, man. That was a good swing from Woods, but his approach shot catches the slope and funnels to the right about 23 feet from the hole. That’s Augusta for ya.

-After watching Hovland and Schauffele putt from the same area, Tiger still manages to power his birdie effort five feet past the hole. What the…

-Lip out. Bogey. That’s a disastrous result after two solid shots. Woods needs to turn this around quickly if he wants to see the weekend.

Bogey, +3 thru 7

Tiger Woods #themasters pic.twitter.com/ogNhJ8j40i — Golf Monthly (@GolfMonthly) April 6, 2023

Hole No. 8, Par 5, 570 yards

-Tiger currently sits in a tie for 40th place at 3 over par. This par 5 has become a must-birdie.

-Step 1 complete. Early tee grab and a fairway hit for Tiger.

-Wow, that was a cool shot. Woods opted to cut a 3 wood over the left trees, but his ball may have clipped a branch on its way down. Looks like he’s just short of the green with a decent chance to get up and down for a birdie.

-OH BABY! Beautiful pitch from Tiger scares the hole and nearly drops for an eagle. That’ll be a tap-in birdie for his first of the day. Now we go!

Nearly an eagle for Tiger Woods on hole No. 8. #themasters pic.twitter.com/7XfulYE6JL — The Masters (@TheMasters) April 6, 2023

Birdie, +2 thru 8

Hole No. 9, Par 4, 460 yards

-Perfect fade with the driver on 9, and Woods will have a good look at this uphill green from 179 out.

-Uh Oh. Major downhill lie on that approach shot, and Tiger didn’t look comfortable going after that one with his injured leg. Misses the gree to the right. That’s the first sign of struggle relating to his leg, so hopefully, it’s the last.

-That pitch didn’t spin as much as Woods hoped, but it rebounded off the back slope of the green and trickled to about five feet. This would be huge for momentum heading into the back 9.

-Dead center. Phew. Those are two really nice scrambles in a row, and Woods will head to the back 9 at 2 over par.

Par, +2 thru 9

Hole No. 10, Par 4, 495 yards

-Beautiful slinging draw with a 3 wood catches the left rough at 10. He’ll have a little over 200 into this par 4.

-WOW. Best shot of the day out of Woods. Takes a wicked lash at that ball to sling it around a tree, and it lands just short of the hole and trickles out to 15 feet. That was special from 203 out.

Tiger Woods with a BEAUTIFUL shot around the tree… I think Tiger got his swagger back pic.twitter.com/dBLDtIfRXo — Fanatics Sportsbook (@FanaticsBook) April 6, 2023

-Oh, man. He had that putt right in the heart, but it comes up just a few rolls short. That’s still a good par on a long hole, but it could’ve been even better.

Par, +2 thru 10

Hole No. 11, Par 4, 520 yards

-Solid drive to the left half of the fairway on 11. That’s not the challenge this hole presents, though. Woods will have 217 yards left with water guarding the entire left side of the green.

-Oh no. Tiger juiced that one and knew it right away. Approach shot flies over the right side of the green, and he’ll have a near-impossible up and down over the bunker. Flop time.

-Had to go upstairs with that chip, and he just didn’t clip it perfectly and it ends up in the bunker. Fourth shot from the sand rolls out to about seven feet, and he’ll have that putt for a bogey.

-OK, bogey is in, but that’s a bogey for his fourth of the day. Woods is now back to +3 and tied for 54th place.

Bogey, +3 thru 11

Hole No. 12, Par 3, 157 yards

-No wind at all on the 12th today, but Woods can’t take advantage. Just pulled a short iron to the left side of the green, and he’ll have 40 feet left for birdie. Sigh.

-Dang. That putt looked good for a long time but just slips to the right at the last second. It’ll be a tap-in par, and we head to the gettable 13th.

Par, +3 thru 12

Hole No. 13, Par 5, 545 yards

-Put a bit too much cut spin on that drive, and it creeps into the right rough near the pine straw. Looks like it’ll be a layup on this par 5.

-Tiger lays up to a comfortable wedge distance and… yet another disappointing approach shot. He’s got 22 feet for birdie after an 80-yard second, so he won’t be thrilled with that one.

-Ugh. Misses another one. Woods just hasn’t been able to match his pace and line on the greens all day, and it’s another par. He needs something positive down the stretch.

Par, +3 thru 13

#TigerWoods is currently 10 shots back from playing partner Victor Hovland. #Masters — JT The Brick (@JTTheBrick) April 6, 2023

Hole No. 14, Par 4, 440 yards

-Fore left! That’s the first hook we’ve seen from Woods off the tee, and he’ll have to navigate some trees on his approach shot.

-That was almost a fantastic shot. Woods hoisted it over the left trees and looked to be cutting it toward the hole, but the ball clipped a branch at the last second and ended up short of the green. Should be a straightforward up and down, but it’s hard to say that with the state of his game today.

-That was pretty. Woods trickled it down the hill with perfect speed and should have no problem cleaning up the short one for par. Final par 5 of the day coming up.

Par, +3 thru 14

Hole No. 15, Par 5, 550 yards

-Hello there. Tiger must’ve released some anger on that drive because he pumped it 326 yards down the left side of the fairway. He’ll have a green light to go for the green from 218 out. Eagle chance?

-Check that. Tiger was blocked out by a tree on the left side, so he decided to lay up and pitch one down the hill. He’ll have 92 yards for his third.

-Man, this is tough to watch. Not even close with his wedge shot, and Woods will have to make a 30-footer to salvage a birdie.

-THERE WE GO. Huge left-to-right swinger down the hill, and Tiger jars for his second birdie of the day and his first since the eighth hole. Finally a confident stroke, and there’s still time to fight back to even par today.

Perfect speed. Perfect read. A birdie on No. 15 for Tiger Woods. #themasters pic.twitter.com/91ftFa7e2r — The Masters (@TheMasters) April 6, 2023

Birdie, +2 thru 15

Hole No. 16, Par 3, 152 yards

-Really nice swing there from Woods on the par-13 16th, and it spins back to eight feet. He should have a fairly straight, uphill putt from the left side of the green, too. Two in a row?

-Bang. Dead in the heart. That’s two straight birdies for Tiger Woods, and he’s back up to a tie for 44th place. With a cut line of the top 50 players plus ties, that’s a significant move.

Birdie, +1 thru 16

Two in a row for Tiger Woods. #themasters pic.twitter.com/RYFcHxiSrO — The Masters (@TheMasters) April 6, 2023

Hole No. 17, Par 4, 440 yards

-Oh baby. Picked up the tee before that drive even got to its apex, and he’ll have 144 yards into this gettable pin. Where has this Tiger been all day?

-Just a mediocre approach shot from Woods there. He was asking for it to cut a bit more, but it hung out to the left and he’ll have 26 feet from a makeable spot on the green.

-Gave it a good run, but Woods just misses on the low side of the hole. He’ll need a birdie on 18 to shoot even par.

Par, +1 thru 17

Hole No. 18, Par 4, 465 yards

-It’s another bullet down the fairway for Woods, who has really turned around his swing over the last few holes. The driver hasn’t been the issue today — it’s been the approach game and his speed on the greens. He’ll have 156 for his final iron shot of the first round.

-Ouch. Tiger’s drive actually rolled up too close to the fairway bunker, and he had to pitch out with an awkward stance. He’s just lucky he didn’t hurt his leg even more than he already has. After all that, he ends up in the greenside bunker and now will have a tough time saving par.

-Opened up the face for that long sand shot, and all he could do was blast it 15 feet past the hole. That for par.

-Boy, he gave that a run, but it was carrying too much speed and rolled a few feet past the hole. The comebacker for bogey is safely in, and Tiger Woods finishes his first round with a 2-over 74. He’s currently tied for 55th place on the leaderboard, and he’ll need a cleaner round tomorrow if he wants to make the cut.

Tiger Woods’ yacht is on the move. Here’s why that *might* hint at where he’s playing next

Tiger Woods is not in the field for this week’s Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial in Fort Worth, Texas, and at this point we don’t know when we’ll see the 15-time major winner next.

But we now may have a hint. Or at least something fun to speculate on.

Woods’ yacht, Privacy , left its Palm Beach port on Tuesday morning and is bound for St. Simons Island, Ga., according to MarineTraffic.com . The yacht’s movement was first reported by Riggs at Barstool Sports . It’s notable because next week’s RBC Heritage at Harbor Town is on Hilton Head Island, a two-hour drive north of St. Simons Island, or another quick yacht cruise up the coast. Docking on St. Simons Island could be a pit stop — or nothing at all.

Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg, has not immediately responded to GOLF.com’s request for comment regarding Woods’ next planned start. The RBC Heritage’s tournament director, Steve Wilmot, told GOLF.com, “Sorry to say we have not heard one way or another if he is planning to play.”

Up the road from Bethpage, Tiger Woods’s superyacht is drawing galleries of its own

Despite Woods’ yacht leaving its dock, it’s unlikely he’s on board. In the past, Woods has sent Privacy near tournament locations, then flown in later, usually staying on the boat during the week. He last did this at the 2018 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills and the 2019 PGA Championship at Bethpage Black, both of which were on Long Island.

Usually, the RBC Heritage is not a tournament Woods would consider entering. He’s played it just once, back in 1999 when it was the MCI Classic (he tied for 18th). It’s also often the week after the Masters, which never works well for Woods’ scheduling. But things are different this year after the PGA Tour’s 12-week pause due to the coronavirus. Suddenly tournaments that didn’t always bring in big names are loaded. Colonial has 101 Tour winners in the field and, for the first time in the OWGR era, the top-five players in the world. Even Rory McIlroy , who has played Harbour Town just once before, is teeing it up there next week.

Will we see Woods at Harbour Town, or is this yacht cruise unrelated to his next start? We’ll have to wait to find out.
