On 1 May 2000 the Ferretti Group took over the Riva boatyard, which could thus go back to flying the Italian flag. The Group had a strong will to relaunch Riva products and the brand by focusing on quality, design, and uniqueness. Riva celebrated the turn of the millennium with the largest rally of period boats in history: more than one hundred yachts, representing all Riva models, paraded on Lake Iseo on 10 September 2000, led by the Aquarama carrying onboard Carlo Riva and Norberto Ferretti, bonded by friendship and mutual esteem.

Riva Boatyards was established in Sarnico, Italy in the year 1842.  The beginning of the legend of Riva Yachts was all due to one man, Pietro Riva; a young shipbuilder and craftsman. He performed a unique miracle by repairing most of the crafts that a sudden and devastating storm damaged throughout. By doing so, he won over the trust of all the locals. In 1956, Riva hired on, designer and architect, Giorgio Barilani, who’s graphic and design activates for the boating industry were devoted to Riva Yachts exclusively. In 1969 was the year for another milestone for Riva Yachts; fiberglass production started. The first two Riva models with the new fiberglass production were The Day Cruiser Bahia Mar 20’ and The Cabin Cruiser Sport Fisherman 25’. Fast forward to today date, in 2000, the Ferretti Group took over the Riva Boatyard, in which, they could go back to flying the Italian Flag. The Ferretti Group had a strong will to relaunch the Riva products and the brand by focusing on the quality, design and the uniqueness that Riva brought to the table. Riva then celebrated the turn of the millennium with the largest rally of period boats in history! More than 100 yachts, all representing Riva Models! The lifestyle of Riva Yachts range from 27 feet all the way up to 164 feet, able to suit any and all of your boating and luxury needs.

Riva Yacht Models

The 50 MT is part of Riva’s ‘Superyacht Division’. This particular yacht is entirely customizable by the Owner in the terms of the interior and décor. Riva’s ‘Superyacht Division’ offers the Owner two different lines, using the same naval platforms. The first line takes inspiration from the brands legendary history; class and perfection of true yachting masterpieces. The second line will feature details from the last generation of the Riva coupe yachts. Each of the two models for the 50 MT are available in four different sizes, 50 meters, 60 meters, 70 meters and 90 meters, in length. This is one Superyacht that will not disappoint.

Teen killed by propeller in horrific boating accident on jersey shore.

A New Jersey teen was killed in a horrific accident on the Jersey Shore this weekend when she was struck by a propeller while trying to get on a boat, police said.

Zeina Mahafzah, 18, was killed around 4:30 p.m. Sunday while trying to get from a raft into the boat that was pulling it in Sunset Park on Long Beach Island, New Jersey State Police said in a statement.

The teen from Wayne “sustained fatal injuries” from the propeller, cops said, without elaborating.

Sources initially told NBC 10 Philadelphia that the teen was dismembered while her dad drove the boat. However, the outlet did not include those details in updated reporting and police would not confirm who witnessed the horror.

First responders reported that other people on the boat witnessed the teen’s death, the outlet reported.

A police investigation is ongoing.
