Aventura 44: This Tunisian-built catamaran is well worth a closer look

This 44 is the new flagship of the growing Aventura brand. These Tunisian-built catamarans are designed by Lasta Studio, like the Bali range

This means a modern look and feel to them with a marked chine, heavy reverse sheer, dreadnought bows and a prominent but swept-back coachroof.

Key features include a raised bulkhead steering position, sliding windows and door between cockpit and saloon, and a dedicated chart table with a fine view ahead.

Aventura makes much of its ‘innovative’ saloon/cockpit design, although there doesn’t appear to be anything too original about it.

What it does do is to create good walkthrough space to reach the aft platform. The Aventura 44’s layout can accommodate three or four double cabins, with either two or four heads.

Aventura also cites the use of oversize deck equipment as proof that it has been developed with input from offshore sailors.

That also seems to extend to the engines, which offer 2x40hp or 57hp depending on the option – for a 10 tonne catamaran , that’s pretty generous.

This new model announced for late 2023 is not simply a restyle: the Aventura Catamarans shipyard unveiled a proper replacement for their Aventura 44 at the International Multihull Show.

Ultimately christened the 44-S rather than 43.5, this Lasta Design plan manages to offer up to six cabins and four bathrooms thanks to companionways in the cockpit. This modern design catamaran, that’s now the largest model in the Aventura Catamarans sailboat range, also offers a large flybridge and a mid-height helm station, as well as a maneuvering station for sail controls. Its price - €485,000 before tax - is particularly well positioned, already earning the builder many firm orders from the presentation of the 3D views! Test / Test of the Adventure 44, a fast cruising catamaran in light airs

In the cruise catamaran landscape, 44 feet remains the most sought-after size. Faced with fierce competition, the Adventura 44 launched in 2019 has nothing to be ashamed of. This sailboat is efficient, well finished and above all offered at a great price!

Testing a sailboat requires a combination of weather factors. To test a boat thoroughly, you need wind (but not too much), sea (but not too much), sun (for the pictures). In short, conditions that are not always easy to meet, especially when autumn is just around the corner and the boat is available for testing.

We quickly turn off the engines

To test this new catamaran Aventura 44 when we were able to embark in Canet-en-Roussillon, the wind did not allow us to really validate the sea behaviour of this cruising boat.

And yet, sailing in 6 to 8 knots of wind (10 at the strongest gusts!), we had the pleasant surprise to see that this catamaran easily does without its engines. The weight estimate (9.5 T) announced for a length of 13.20 m, makes this sailing boat very fast. And yet, our test model, the number 1 of the yard, was largely equipped to validate the options of the series.

Practice with a small crew

This sailboat has a helm station on the deck. It is from there that you can access all the maneuvers which are done by 3 Harken winches (one is electric). It is simple and practical, but will pose a little difficulty as soon as we are 2 to want to act at the same time. One fights a little the place. On the other hand, the situation is ideal for a solitary.

High quality construction

The visit of this catamaran seduced us by the quality of the construction and the finishing touches. We feel that the shipyard team sails with its boats and has the will to build units able to take the sea by all the times. Let us recall that the shipyard is based in Tunisia and that all the convoys to deliver the boats leave from there. The life of each unit begins with a transmed not always calm.

We noted the care taken in the construction, notably the quality of the electrical circuit and the accessories installed, such as the double-drawer refrigerator . The choice of materials, with its lacquered surfaces and metal inserts, is also very attractive.

Aggressive pricing

Last but not least, the price of this catamaran . Well below the competition. Indeed, an Aventura 44 is offered at 349,000 euros ex VAT, which means a boat ready to sail for 450,000 euros. A 30% lower price than that of a Lagoonâeuros¦

Aventura 44-S, un tout nouveau catamaran de croisière pour moins de 500 000 €

Avec des emménagements allant de 3 à 6 cabines, l'Aventura 44-S répond aux desiderata des propriétaires tout comme à ceux des loueurs. Le joli trait de crayon de l'architecte pourrait faire de ce modèle un best-seller du chantier.

Après 10 ans de bons et loyaux services, l'Aventura 44 s'efface pour laisser la place à l'Aventura 44-S (le S change tout !). Ce nouveau catamaran dessiné par Samer Lasta reprend les lignes de son jeune petit frère, l'Aventura 37.

6 cabines dans 44 pieds !

Ce catamaran de 13,50 m de long et 7,50 m de large se distingue par la possibilité de loger 6 cabines et 4 salles de bain ! Une possibilité rare dans cette taille de voilier. Cet aménagement a été possible en ouvrant un accès direct aux cabines arrières sur l'extérieur, face aux jupes à l'arrière du cockpit. Ainsi, les descentes depuis le carré desservent chacune les 2 autres cabines doubles de chaque coque. Les 2 cabines accessibles par le cockpit ne disposent que de lits simples. A réserver aux enfants ou à un skipper.

Des zones de détente

Côté aménagements, on notera le fly sur le rouf uniquement dédié au bain de soleil, mais qui dispose d'un véritable escalier sur bâbord pour y accéder juste devant le poste de barre. Ce poste de barre est d'ailleurs séparé du poste de manœuvre afin de ne pas se gêner dans le gestion des 115 m² de voilure, solution déjà imaginée et validée sur l'Aventura 37.

Un tarif agressif

À peine annoncé à l'occasion du salon du Multicoque à La Grande Motte (avril 2022), les premières commandes ont afflué. Pas mal pour un modèle qui ne sera visible que fin 2023… Les progrès réalisés par le chantier dans la construction et la finition de ses bateaux ainsi que le prix de vente de départ annoncé à 485 000 € HT y sont sans aucun doute pour beaucoup dans cette avalanche de commandes…
