Express 35 (Killing)

Express 35 (Killing) is a 35 ′ 0 ″ / 10.7 m monohull sailboat designed by Steve Killing and built by Goman Boat Ltd. starting in 1984.

Drawing of Express 35 (Killing)

Rig and Sails

Auxilary power, accomodations, calculations.

The theoretical maximum speed that a displacement hull can move efficiently through the water is determined by it's waterline length and displacement. It may be unable to reach this speed if the boat is underpowered or heavily loaded, though it may exceed this speed given enough power. Read more.

Classic hull speed formula:

Hull Speed = 1.34 x √LWL

Max Speed/Length ratio = 8.26 ÷ Displacement/Length ratio .311 Hull Speed = Max Speed/Length ratio x √LWL

Sail Area / Displacement Ratio

A measure of the power of the sails relative to the weight of the boat. The higher the number, the higher the performance, but the harder the boat will be to handle. This ratio is a "non-dimensional" value that facilitates comparisons between boats of different types and sizes. Read more.

SA/D = SA ÷ (D ÷ 64) 2/3

  • SA : Sail area in square feet, derived by adding the mainsail area to 100% of the foretriangle area (the lateral area above the deck between the mast and the forestay).
  • D : Displacement in pounds.

Ballast / Displacement Ratio

A measure of the stability of a boat's hull that suggests how well a monohull will stand up to its sails. The ballast displacement ratio indicates how much of the weight of a boat is placed for maximum stability against capsizing and is an indicator of stiffness and resistance to capsize.

Ballast / Displacement * 100

Displacement / Length Ratio

A measure of the weight of the boat relative to it's length at the waterline. The higher a boat’s D/L ratio, the more easily it will carry a load and the more comfortable its motion will be. The lower a boat's ratio is, the less power it takes to drive the boat to its nominal hull speed or beyond. Read more.

D/L = (D ÷ 2240) ÷ (0.01 x LWL)³

  • D: Displacement of the boat in pounds.
  • LWL: Waterline length in feet

Comfort Ratio

This ratio assess how quickly and abruptly a boat’s hull reacts to waves in a significant seaway, these being the elements of a boat’s motion most likely to cause seasickness. Read more.

Comfort ratio = D ÷ (.65 x (.7 LWL + .3 LOA) x Beam 1.33 )

  • D: Displacement of the boat in pounds
  • LOA: Length overall in feet
  • Beam: Width of boat at the widest point in feet

Capsize Screening Formula

This formula attempts to indicate whether a given boat might be too wide and light to readily right itself after being overturned in extreme conditions. Read more.

CSV = Beam ÷ ³√(D / 64)

Shoal Draft version: 5.40’ / 1.65m Disp.: 13000 lbs./ 5897 kgs. Tall Rig: I(IG): 51.00’ / 15.54m J: 14.80’ / 4.51m P: 45.30’ / 13.81m E: 14.90’ / 4.54m

I am looking at getting an '85 express 35, I haven't been able to really find much information about this boat anywhere and was wondering if anyone had some observations or thoughts on them? Thanks

Express 35 An impressive Blend of Sailing Performance and Elegant Cruising Comfort By Carol Nickle and Brian Gooderham The Express 35 represents an impressive blend of sailing performance and elegant cruising comfort. There is sufficient room in its overall length for a posh interior without compromising the appearance or the sailing ability of the hull shape. The abundance of carefully fitted stowage units and many other thoughtful details all contribute to making the 35 a yacht an owner can be justly proud of. A Goman/Killing partnership The 35 is the brainchild of Bill Goman and Steve Killing, two young men who left C&C Yachts in 1970 to establish their own businesses. Goman, a construction specialist, founded Goman Boats Ltd. in Midland, Ontario; Steve Killing built a house down the road, where he established his design office. The two had worked together on the 1978 Canada's Cup winner, Evergreen, at C&C, and since leaving the company their careers have continued to intertwine. Goman's first production boat was a killing design, the Goman 20 (later called the Express 20). Killing then provided the lines for the Express 30, and Bill Goman built Killing's first custom commission, the 37-foot Phantom. Goman Boats fell victim to the crippling recession early in the decade, but re-emerged through new partners and refinancing as Express Yachting, with Goman serving as its vice-president. The Express 20 was dropped from production, and a racier version of the 30 by Killing, the 30M, soon followed. When Bill Goman wasn't building production boats, he was turning out test tank models for the Canada 1 program, in which Killing served as the assistant designer. Today Killing is the chief designer for the True North America's Cup effort, and Goman is lending a hand as a construction consultant and graphic artist. "We aimed the Express 30 at the racing market," while Goman reflects. "For the 35 we changed the emphasis to appeal to the cruising sailor while maintaining the same high standard of performance." And at a base price of $85,400, the combination of sound design, comfortable appointments and quality construction adds up to good value. Killing designed the Express 35 in 1983 with a relatively light overall displacement of 10,600 pounds. Although the production weight is now actually 11,500 pounds, almost half of it is concentrated in the keel to balance a generous sailplan of 643 square feet. Keel shape has been optimized through computer analysis, resulting in a thin, moderate aspect ratio foil; a shoal keel is also available. Hull lines are modern, but not extreme, to provide speed and performance without conforming to the distortions imposed by a rating formula. Production Since the first hull was launched in 1984, almost 30 have been sold, with many, to the pleasant surprise of Goman, going to American owners. Since Express Yachting does not have a large manufacturing facility, the pace of sales has been sufficient to permit a steady production flow without creating an excessive order backlog. Goman is very satisfied with the rate of market penetration. There is no better example of the boat's spreading fame than the fact that we shared our test sail with a couple who had driven all the way from Annapolis, Maryland, to experience the 35, and they ended up buying one. Sylvester Watt of Toronto purchased one of the first Express 35s and sailed it on Georgian Bay through the 1984 season. He was looking for a comfortable cruising boat with a top-quality interior finish, but he's also an ex-racer who appreciates speed and performance. With his competitive sons as crew, he says the only boat he can't catch on Georgian Bay is a C&C 40. Test sail Our initial sail of the Express 35 on a fog-shrouded, windless morning near Midland didn't give us an opportunity to put this high-spirited design through its paces. As we were readying to return to Toronto, a cheerful 10- to 12-knot breeze piped up and cleared enough of the fog for a bright, sparkling ride in almost ideal sailing conditions. The Express 35 came to life with the change in weather conditions, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable hour of sailing. The 35 was a pleasure to steer, nicely balanced with a light, responsive touch on the helm. The well-designed cockpit layout around the helmsman's position provides several comfortable locations to steer from, all with excellent visibility. Upwind we judged the boat to be neither tender nor stiff, but pleasingly sensitive to the freshening breeze. It worked well to weather and seemed to accelerate smartly as we bore away from the wind. A boat tour The main hatch leads below via a true companionway with bulkheads and grab rails on each side, which provide a more secure route to and from deck than the typical open ladder. At the bottom of the companionway a slatted teak panel covers a drip pan draining into the bilge. Once below, the interior opens into a broad sweep of oiled teak and modern surfaces. The basic layout includes a double cabin in the port quarter aft of the galley. The nav station is located to starboard opposite the galley, with the head immediately aft on the starboard quarter. The main saloon leads through gracious double doors to the roomy double V-berth cabin. With these louvred doors open, the interior of the Express 35 feels remarkably spacious through careful design and clever use of attractive materials. The cabin sole, bulkheads and locker facings are oiled teak, complemented by a streamlined off-white headliner. Ventilation is provided by a large forward hatch, a mid-deck hatch over the saloon and the main companionway. The aft cabin and the head each have a solar-operated vent, which Goman tells us Express plans to replace with small skylight hatches. In addition, the aft cabin has a small opening port in the cockpit's side wall. There are plenty of light fixtures arranged to create a pleasant glow in the main cabin and also to provide good lighting in reading or working areas. In both the aft cabin and the forward V berth there is an emphasis on attractive and functional stowage. There is a long shelf down each side of the V berth, a hanging locker to port and a built-in unit to starboard that contains drawers, a "flap-down" locker beneath a small countertop and a smaller mirror-fronted locker above. Underneath the V berth there are also large lockers and bins. The entire V-berth cabin is generously appointed and comfortable; our only quibble is that the berth insert seems a little more cumbersome and heavy than necessary. The aft cabin is similar to the vee berth in style, but space is at a higher premium. A hanging locker features a built-in drawer and locker stowage underneath, and a single long shelf is placed outboard of the double bunk. The bunk has a maximum width of 42 inches, which means you're going to be friendly! The main saloon has an L-shaped settee to port and a straight settee to starboard, each of which could serve as a single berth. Providing plenty of stowage is a high priority here as well. Outboard of each settee is a practical, fiddled shelf with attractive sliding-door lockers behind it. Above the lockers is additional shelf space. Behind the seat backs and under seat cushions are still more lockers. The double-hinged table is floor-mounted, although with a screwdriver it can be removed. It is a generous size and has a very nice finish and quality, easy-to-use hardware, but no fiddles around the edge! Apparently most owners prefer the table without fiddles, but Express Yachting will happily fit removable fiddles to the table if you're planning to eat at sea. The galley, on the other hand, is impressively equipped for going to sea. Acrylic fiddles several inches high surround the entire counter area, and a stainless steel grab rail extends in front of the stove. The two-burner propane stove with oven (an option) is a good model that gimbals freely. A fitted board covers the stove for a level surface under all conditions, and it stows neatly out of the way when not in use. Similarly, the hinged cutting board fits over the deep, double sinks located close to the boats centerline. The icebox is an adequate size for short cruises. However, Sylvester Watt says he would like to have additional fridge or freezer space for voyages of two weeks or more. There's a suitable amount of stowage for dishes and food including a spice rack, but we didn't like the pile fabric in the back of the galley lockers because hard surfaces are much easier to keep clean. There are also a small space under the stove and a big cupboard-style locker under the sink. Opposite the galley to starboard, the chart table is bordered by the same type of acrylic fiddle and stainless steel grab rail found in the galley. The navigator's seat is comfortable and secure, though legroom is adequate rather than generous because a drawer unit is located underneath the table. Sliding-door lockers continue from the saloon, along the outboard edge of the nav station, with a shelf above where instruments can be mounted. On the boat we sailed the electric panel was located beside the navigator's seat, more or less under his right elbow. Goman says that the panel is being revamped and enlarged, and will henceforth be located in the aft end of the locker, probably on a hinged board to simplify access to the wiring. The head compartment aft of the nav station is roomy and well-designed, with strategically placed grab rails for security. There's a good sink in a stretch of counter, with lockers above and below. Over the lockers is an open shelf space that looks unfinished because the headliner stops short, exposing the underside of the deck and various bits of plumbing. A better finish or additional locker fronts would be more attractive. Other features including a big mirror on the bulkhead beside the toilet and a wet locker located behind it. Construction details The hull and deck are constructed of fiberglass with a full balsa core, reinforced in areas of high stress. Inside are longitudinal fiberglass stringers running unobtrusively down the length of the boat on each side to add to the hull rigidity. The chainplates are stoutly anchored into the bulkheads and grounded to a keel bolt. The double-spreader tapered spar rests on a cast aluminum mast step bolted to reinforced floor timbers. Rod rigging for all standing rigging except the mainstay is standard equipment, an unusual quality feature. Deck hardware is all topnotch, name-brand gear. In typical Express style, halyards and reefing line lead aft under a portion of the deck to stoppers and halyard winches mounted on the aft end of the cabintop. The mainsheet runs from the end of the boom to a traveler bar immediately forward of the wheel and pedestal. Its coarse and fine sheet arrangement and traveler adjustment system are a pleasure to use. Engine access The engine is easily accessible behind the companionway steps and through a sliding panel from the aft cabin. Batteries are secured conveniently under the navigator's seat in a well-ventilated compartment. Access to the steering under the cockpit floor is somewhat cramped as the fuel tank and holding tank are located there. On balance, we give the Express 35 high marks for its combination of sailing performance, comfortable appointments and quality finish. Specifications LOA 35 ft LWL 29 ft Beam 11 ft 6 in. I bought the last one they built in 1994, and have lived on it since then. I have also raced it PHRF using white sails. I only have positive thoughts on the boat and on the designer.

LOCATION: MIDLAND, GEORGIAN BAY, ONTARIO The Express 35 was the brainchild of Steve Killing and Bill Goman, two former C&C Yachts employees who left in 1979 to start their own businesses. Steve, after seven years on C&C’s design team, started his own design firm; Bill formed Goman Boats Ltd., which later changed hands and became Express Yachting.

The Express 35 is an exceptionally fast cruising vessel that offers a roomy interior with comfort in mind. The racer/cruiser has a tall double spreader rig, all lines lead aft, with a large cockpit and helm station.

This is the second owner who has owned it for 20 years, never raced just cruised, and recently moved up to a 40 footer. New electronics and newer sails!

Pro-Line 35 Express

  • By Lenny Rudow
  • Updated: November 17, 2005

express 35 sailboat

I need more hooks! I’ve been sharked again, the third time in as many drops, and I just lost the last grouper rig on the boat. That means tying one from scratch, so I flip down the tackle station hatch, which happens to do double-duty as a seat back for the aft-facing bait-watching seat, and start ripping open drawers. There are three big ones, then five tackle trays, plus slots for tackle wraps and hook racks. I go through the compartments one after another until I find the tackle I need. It takes a while. News Flash: The tackle station on Pro-Line’s new 35 Express will house as much gear as the largest tackleboxes in Outdoor World.

FISH-O-MATIC. The plentiful tackle stowage shouldn’t come as a surprise. Pro-Line is known for building fishboats, and since this is its new flagship model, you’d expect it to have some fabulous features. Yup, the livewell is as bodacious as you had hoped. It holds 45 gallons, is finished in buff blue inside (which helps calm baitfish, so they don’t swim head-first into fiberglass and beat themselves up), and the top is supported by gas-assist struts. It’s lighted as well, but the light is white, and when I’m fishing after dark, I prefer not to lose my night vision each time I look inside. The bulb should be replaced with a red one.

The macerated fishboxes are supersize and will hold a 100-pound tuna-which is the sort of challenge I wish I had during our test, but no matter, we still had enough action to give the cockpit toerails, under-gunwale rodracks, gunwale-mounted rodholders, side-mounted hardtop rodholders, and coaming bolsters a thorough workout. Sure, all these things add up to make a day of fishing more comfortable and effective than it would be on a bare-bones boat. But the best fishing feature of all is sheer space. As you might expect, a supersize outboard boat yields a supersize cockpit.

The same holds true for other members of this new genre, such as the Stamas 340 Express. This boat shares the 12’6″ beam of the Pro-Line but has 7″ more LOA and costs a hair less at $220,000 without power. The Stamas has significantly more livewell capacity with 60- and 20-gallon wells, but it’s limited to twin powerplants totaling 600 hp, so it won’t ever match the speeds posted by the Pro-Line. Interestingly, the Stamas, which weighs 2,800 pounds more than the Pro-Line, breaks 43 mph with twin 250-hp Suzuki outboards, whereas the Pro-Line tops out just under 42 mph with twin 250-hp Verados. With our triple-screw test rig, however, we bested 51 mph. If you’d rather avoid the added expense of triple outboards, note that the 35 Express performs just fine with twins. When I ran this model rigged with two 250-hp Verados, I cruised around 28.5 mph at 4500 rpm while burning 25.4 gph, which shakes out to 1.1 mpg-pretty respectable for a 35′ boat.

Other than an extra 9 mph at top end, what does that third powerplant get you? Cruising at 4500 rpm you’ll see 36 mph while burning 36.6 gph, for 1.0 mpg. And, of course, if one powerplant goes down, you’ll still be able to break plane and run for home relatively quickly. Surprise bonus: On the triple-screw rig the outboard engines are farther apart, so opposing the motors is much more effective when maneuvering around the docks.

TRUMP CARD. The nicest thing about a supersize fishboat is the cockpit space, but the nicest thing about a supersize outboard boat is the cabin. This is where the difference between outies and innies becomes evident. Where there would normally be inboards in a 35′ express, the Pro-Line has a cabin, and under the helm is a midcabin berth. Stash the kids in there, and you’ll finally have some privacy even when the whole family is aboard for the weekend. Pull a hatch to access several pumps and through-hulls from the midcabin. I noted a couple of things to nitpick about down here, though. The air conditioner intake had only one hose clamp, and the hanging locker only opened halfway before hitting the berth cushion. Pro-Line says that cushion will be refitted, but check before you buy. On your way out of the midcabin berth, be sure to glance at the beefy powder-coated aluminum stair frame. It’s twice as sturdy as it needs to be, which is indicative of some other overbuilt construction techniques used in this boat.

The stringers are bonded to the hull of the 35 Express with Weld-On adhesive, and Plexus seals the hull-to-deck joint. The motor mount is beefed up with a 3?8″ aluminum plate; the deck is cored with Divinycell; and the hull bottom is solid glass. The hardtop is through-bolted in place, but I’d like to see some gussets added because there was some flex that was visible. Other than that, this top is what all hardtops should be, complete with molded-in red and white courtesy lights, spreader lights, and speaker boxes. There are overhead hatches for letting in a breeze, and on sweltering days just press a button and the electrically actuated center windshield vent opens with a hum.

Wait a sec-how’d we get out of the cabin so soon? We forgot to go over the cherry-finish Formica cabinetry, the teak and holly sole, and the cool magnetic catches on the cabinets. But the one thing you can’t miss belowdecks is the cabin overhead. It’s backed with 1/2″ foam, so if you ever bump your head-not exactly uncommon in boats-it won’t hurt.

DUDE FACTOR. So here we have one outrageously large outboard boat that can fish with the inboard big boys while running and gunning at outboard speeds, and it has a cabin where the innie guys have an engine room. Are there any other advantages to the 35 Express? One I just can’t help but mention is the babe factor. Yes, we hardcore anglers put function well above form. But I’ve found that the fairer sex enjoys time spent on large modern outboard boats more than on inboards of this size. Why? It’s not that the 35 Express looks hotter than most inboard expresses (though it does) and it’s not the stylish interior or added space. It’s the smell. Simply put, women take exception to the stink of diesel. This factor used to be negated by smoky two-stroke oil burners, but with modern four-strokes, outboards are the hands-down winners when your better half likes to go along on the tuna hunt. What about vibration and noise? There’s less of those, too.

Downsides to the outboard rig? The biggest is in the ride, since inboards provide a lower center of gravity. Maintenance and reliability are a close call-we’ll need to wait a couple of years until we see how those Verados perform with hundreds of hours under their belts. So we have a mission for all of you guys: Please use your new 35 Express at least twice as much as the old one-it’s in the interest of science. And if your boss wants to know why you’re taking off so much time, just have him call us. We’ll set him straight.

EXTRA POINT: So you don’t rip out your hair while rigging the electronics on your new boat, Pro-Line thoughtfully left a pull-wire prerigged through the hardtop pipework.

Reynard ing cottage, addingham.

Addingham house

“Beautiful location, perfect cottage, true relaxation - bliss!” The cottage was first class, cosy and suited our needs completely. The owners were extremely welcoming and provided us with information about the area. Literature was also available in the cottage. The cottage had every implement you could wish for when cooking. We were fortunate enough to stay the last week in March when the country had very hot weather - early mini heatwave! We left the car most days and walked the Dales Way, over stiles, through the sheep and met lots of locals to chat with. Ilkley was lovely, beer cheap in Weatherspoons! We have already booked again for next year!

“Wonderful” When we arrived at Wheelhouse, we were immediately met by our hostess who could not have been more helpful. On opening the door to this immaculate cottage, we entered a spacious hallway and with billowing curtains...it was a hot sunny day the 1st week of June, so Sharon had opened the windows and patio doors to let the air circulate for us. It was perfect! a welcome, balloon, bottle of wine and other goodies were left for us. It was The nicest cottage we have stayed in. All 3 bedrooms were big, airy and comfortable. Excellent bathroom and kitchen facilities and the living room room/ kitchen opens up onto a private courtyard with table, chairs and an umbrella for shade. The cottage was beautifully and tastefully decorated, not too fussy with too many ornaments to break! all in all, it was a perfect holiday destination.

“A true escape” My partner & I spent a week in the annex recently. The location is wonderful in a peaceful, tranquil and rural setting very close to the beach and the beach bar and with great views of Knocknarea, which is a worthwhile climb or for a longer walk do the 15km walk which takes in the climb starting & finishing in Strandhill. The area is an ideal base for walking. We walked the Sligo Way over 3 days, starting in Lough Talt & finishing 73kms later in Dromahair. Beautiful & varying scenery all along the way. If 3 days is not for you any section of this way is breathtaking. Closer to home is the aughris Head/Dunmoran Strand Walk, a gorgeous cliff walk. The annex itself is comfortable and we enjoyed the added peace as there was noone staying in the attaching beach house while we were there until the last 2 nights, waking up each morning to just the sound of cows & sheep, a real escape.

“Peace, tranquility, clean air and friendly people” We were welcomed by a lovely neighbour to the property who took us round the cottage and clearly explained everything and that, if we needed anything at all, she was just a short walk or phone call away. The welcome pack was a very nice and unexpected touch. The charming 300 year old cottage, which was very well-equipped with all the modern amenities, was clean and very homely, still containing personal items of the lady that had once lived for most of her life. The owner also paid a pleasant courtesy call to see that we had everything we needed. Just 5 minutes drive from Ardpatrick or 10 minutes from the larger Kildorrerey and situated approximately halfway between Limerick and Cork, this is an isolated location with little or no nightlife but rich in beauty, peace and tranquility. A perfect medicine for the stressed-out city dweller! I have only one issue - anyone over 5'4" will have to do some head-ducking when moving around the bedrooms but that comes with the charm and age of the cottage. All in all, a memorable experience which we are likely to repeat.

THE GRANARY, family friendly, luxury holiday cottage, with a garden in

Longframlington house

“Best Holiday In Years!” The Granary is a cottage to fall in love with. From the moment you drive through the gates, to discovering and falling for this sumptuously appointed and spacious holiday home, to waving goodbye and wishing you didn't have to, I cannot rate it highly enough. For a couple or small family it is just superb and my fiance and I only wish we could have stayed there during the summer months to enjoy the patio etc fully. The bedrooms, kitchen and bathrooms particularly are as if brand new, simply stunning and near faultless, the 2 power showers excellent, although the shower cubicle base did fill up to the limit within about ten minutes for those who like me enjoy a longer shower! But the over bath shower next door was of the same type and did not suffer this minor problem. Great tiles, mirrors, lighting, heated towel rails, etc etc. Kitchen utility area and downstairs toilet beyond it are a real bonus and all so well presented you felt pampered. Fully equipped kitchen, only gripes were tin opener wasn't working and no egg cups, I defy you to find any others! The sunsets from the large kitchen cartwheel window were beautiful and provided some lovely snaps of my car. The plentiful books/crosswords/Dvds/CDs/games were a nice touch and added to our holiday, as did Hamish, the friendly doorstop dog! Comfy beds, although we found the 2 seater sofa of only average comfort, a bit slidey and needed a throw. Enjoyed the candles and woodburner and melting pleasantly even during the cold spell, plenty of wood and coal supplied for a week. Central heating superb although smoke alarm annoyingly activated whenever grilled anything. Lots of places to visit in all directions, Alnwick, Berwick, Morpeth, Rothbury, Coast, what more do you want? The owners were very cheerful and helpful although they were in process of moving out. We were greeted by the new owners who we also found friendly. Ah, the memories. Best holiday in years!!!

Ivanovo Oblast - Features

There are about 1,700 rivers and streams, more than 150 lakes in Ivanovo Oblast.

The climate of the Ivanovo region is temperate continental: relatively warm summers and frosty, snowy winters. The coldest month of the year is January with the average temperature minus 12 degrees Celsius, the warmest month is July - plus 18 degrees Celsius. The region has relatively favorable environmental condition.

The largest cities and towns of the Ivanovo region are Ivanovo (400,000), Kineshma (78,400), Shuya (55,000), Vichuga (32,400), Furmanov (32,400), Teikovo (31,300), and Kokhma (30,400).

Ivanovo Oblast is located in the central part of European Russia between the Volga and Klyazma rivers. It is one of the smallest regions of Russia by land area (Kalinigrad Oblast is the smallest one).

Globus-1 experiment in Ivanovo Oblast

Globus-1 was one of a series of peaceful underground nuclear explosions that were made in the territory of the USSR from 1965 to 1988.

On September 19, 1971, a nuclear warhead of 2.3 kilotons (about 9 times weaker than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan) was detonated in the well at the depth of 610 meters on the banks of the Shachi River, about 4 km from the village of Galkino in the Kineshma District of Ivanovo Oblast.

Globus-1 became the closest nuclear explosion to Moscow. The distance in a straight line from Red Square to the place of the test was 363 kilometers.

As a result of the explosion, because of poor cementing of the wellbore, there was a release of radioactive material to the surface, which caused radioactive contamination of the area.

In September-October, 2014, Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation carried out works on the isolation of the wells and decontamination of the area. The radioactive soil was taken to a specialized plant for the disposal of radioactive waste. In August, 2015, the work on the reclamation of contaminated soil was completed.
