Sunset Sails Trimaran tour takes visitors out around Manuel Antonio's shaggy rainforest laden coastlines replete with sandy coves, jagged cliffs and rocky islands searching for marine wildlife, sailing past Espadilla Beach and snorkeling in a cove beside Quepos Point.

Set sail from Quepos, but make sure you're on the boat (ours tried to leave without us). The trimaran (a multi-hulled boat) sets sail off the coast searching for whales, dolphins and sea turtles. After about an hour of sailing, the trimaran turns toward Espadilla Beach in a large loop that takes you past Manuel Antonio National Park and Quepos Point. In the meantime, take in the scenery as servers walk around offering fruit and complimentary soda and beer.

The trimaran drops anchor near a rock off the coast of Biesanz Beach, known as the best spot for snorkeling in Manuel Antonio. The staff provides life vests and snorkel gear to venture into a submerged rock where marine wildlife congregates. At certain times of the year, especially in the wet season (May-Nov.), the water can be cloudy making it difficult to see. But you'll still be able to catch a glimpse of some of the fish like the rainbow Cortez, the Sgt. Major fish and the parrotfish.

Sunset Sails serves lunch after the snorkeling, a plate of tilapia, rice and root vegetables, before sailing back to the marina.

Departure & Return

• Departure point : Tour departs from all major hotels in Quepos and Manuel Antonio
• Departure time : Hotel pickup is between 20 and 50 minutes before tour start time depending on hotel location.
• Return details : Tour returns to original departure point between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

The dolphin watching tour around the coast of Quepos and Manuel Antonio can be enjoyed from on board one of our vessels. Our daily goal is to have the satisfaction of knowing that our clients are extremely happy and grateful for experiencing an unforgettable day, enjoying the coast and beauty of the Pacific Ocean. We have two boats, the Trimaran (Loreley) with a capacity for 35 persons and the Sailboat (Camaradien) with a capacity for 24 persons. We go all around the coast of Manuel Antonio, we try to look for dolphins, turtles, stingrays and whales depend of the season, we dont guarantee the sightnes of animals, since they are of course wild, but we do our best to find them. Then we anchor the boat on a beautiful jungle bay where we make snorkeling for 45 minutes while we prepare the clients the delicious meal that we give, after the experience of eating in the middle of the ocean we come back from our tour, to the Marina Pez Vela. Morning schedule: 8:30am to 12:00pm Afternoon schedule: 2:00pm to 5:30pm The tour includes: • Water and fruits. • Alcoholic drinks: beer ($2) and cocktails are included, Non-alcoholic drinks (juices and sodas) • Lunch: Fresh fish or chicken, rice and vegetables. We can also make vegan and vegetarian dishes if you wish. • Snorkeling session at Biezans Beach (Gear include) • Pick up/Drop off • Bilingual crew • Three and a half hours of tour all around Quepos and Manuel Antonio Coast.

Trimaran Sunset Sail Tours

Trimaran Sunset Sail Tour starts when the shuttle service picks up the guests from their hotel. The air conditioned vehicles will transport you to the Quepos Wharf where you will meet the head guide. The head guide will accompany you throughout the journey. The guide will tell about the details about the trip and the safety ground rules during your stay in the sailboat.

The Vessels:

Sailboat lorelei.

Trimaran also called Lorelei is the vessel you will take for the journey. This boat has the capacity of holding up to 50 people. You can easily and comfortably take rest in its air conditioned cabin. This boat also has three bedrooms and a kitchen. If you wish you can take sunbath on its deck. its floor is constructed with a non-skid sand application. You don’t need to worry as it has life jackets for all the passengers as well as for its stuff and also has an emergency radio. If the tourists want to go for snorkeling they will be provided with appropriate equipment for snorkeling and a boat to monitor people who are snorkeling. The Trimaran is a 49-foot sailboat with a 4-cylinder engine and 120 HP diesel with turbo, 150 hp. In every two years the sails on this oat changed and the engine receives an annual overhaul.

The Sailboat Camaradien

Another vessel you can also chose that is ‘The Sailboat Camaradien’. This boat is also safe and comfortable. Like the Trimaran, this boat also provide life jackets for all the guests and stuffs, an extra boat to watch people from who are snorkeling, an emergency radio. This boat was built in the United States. It is a Gulfstar measuring 54 feet with the capacity of holding 25 people. This boat has a 215 HP Detroit engine with 6 cylinders and uses diesel fuel. The sails changed in every two years and the motor undergoes an annual overhaul.

Trimaran or The Sailboat Camaradien whichever boat you chose you will ave a safe and secured journey.  The captain directs the vessel for the surrounding coast and will take you to discover the beauty of nature, the major islands in the area including Olocuita and Isla Verde, which was once used by the native Quepoa Indians as a cemetery, many years ago.. The guides always keep asking what you want and giving information about the route or aquatic life and answering any questions .a They will ensure your pleasant stay. Their goal is to give you the satisfaction and to make you extremely happy. You will be grateful for experiencing an unforgettable day, enjoying the coast and beauty of the Pacific Ocean.You will also visit Punta Quepos and Punta Catedral. Punta Catedral being located on the coast of Manuel Antonio National Park.When the Captain will loosens the sails and allow the calm winds to direct the boat, you will arrive at Playa Puerto Escondido. During the tour you will have the opportunity to see dolphins, sea turtles, stingrays and migrating whales.

During the whole journey you will have plenty of foods and drinks served by the guides. You will obviously have a memorable journey which will make your mind refreshed and rejuvenate you.

Cancellation Policy

Customers with 5 or less passengers on a single reservation will receive a full refund or credit with 24 hours notice of cancellation before scheduled tour start time. Customers on our shared charters with 6 or more passengers on a single reservation will receive a full refund or credit with 48 hours notice of cancellation. Cancellations must be made by phone. Email and voicemail cancellations are not acceptable forms of cancellation and will not be refunded. No-shows will be charged the full price.

Private charters must be cancelled at least seven (7) days prior to charter start time to receive a full refund. Charters canceled less than 7 days of charter start time will receive 50% refund as long as charter is cancelled more then 72 hours in advance. Charters canceled less than 72 hours of charter start time will not receive a refund Customers will also receive a full refund or credit in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

We require 72-hours cancellation notice prior to your tour to refund your deposit. If the weather is bad, we will do our best to reschedule your tour or reimburse 100% of your deposit through PayPal in U.S. dollars. No-shows are charged 100%.

Cabo Sails check-in office is in Plaza Gali. Ask your driver to drop you off at the OXXO market across the street from the Sandos Finisterra Hotel. Walk a short distance into Plaza Gali and our check-in office is located on the right side of the plaza. We recommend taking a taxi instead of driving a rental car because the parking lots near our location are usually full. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your tour departure time.
