Description

Manta didn’t make very many power cats, so when one comes on the market it’s time to snatch it up.  She’s a great coastal cruiser and extremely capable Gulfstream crosser.  The current sellers of Blues Cruise are the second owners, and because they had a congenial relationship with the previous (original) owners, they have all sorts of manuals and maintenance information that rarely comes with a boat. You can tell as soon as you step aboard that both of her owners have been fastidious about maintaining her, and she has never been chartered. With her 3 ft draft and bridge clearance able to get as low as 15’ by folding down the VHF & AIS antennas and anchor light she can reach many waters others can’t. Her hull design is extremely efficient with less drag, so she can produce higher speeds with less horsepower than a mono-hull. And with a low center of gravity and wide beam, she’s extremely stable underway.

The Manta 44 PowerCat was created to offer all the great liveaboard and ocean cruising attributes of the very successful Manta 42 SailCat, but in a motor yacht. With over 90 Manta SailCats cruising the oceans of the world and the highest percentages of satisfied, full-time liveaboard owners in the industry, Manta has established a proven winning formula of high-tech composite construction, elegant functional interiors, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems designed for reliability, low maintenance, and self-sufficiency.

From the earliest planning stages these boats were designed to offer a cruising couple the space and comforts of a fine sea-going home with comfortable space for the occasional guest. They were never build for the charter trade. "Beach Cat" sleeps six in three cabins. the Port Hull is the dedicated Owners Quarters with a queen berth, numerous hanging and clothes lockers aft and the forward section dedicated to a huge walk-in shower and separate head and vanity. The Starboard hull offers a Vip Queen berth aft also with ample hanging closet space and clothes drawers and shelves. Forward in the Starboard Hull is double berth. The walk through provides a separate shower, head and addition storage. A Combination washer and dryer and additional storage are located in the forward stateroom. The Spacious Salon provides and open 180+ degree view with comfortable seating for eight, an entertainment center, chart table and gourmets delight Galley.

Approach to the Marina (Marina Entry and Navigation)

No vessels are permitted to berth at Ocean Marina Jomtien without prior approval. All boat owners are required to submit the relevant documents, including a mooring application form, evidence of ownership, valid boat license or registration, and valid insurance certificates, to obtain approval for berthing.

For safe and smooth navigation, all vessels, apart from small dinghies, are to enter and leave Ocean Marina Jomtien under power, not sail, and hoist/lower their sails well clear of the buoyed entrance channel. The maximum speed within Ocean Marina and the entrance channel is limited to 5 knots. Any violations of the speed limit or negligence towards other boat owners may attract penalties or fines.

The hotel manager (Ben) and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We were treated like royalty. Highly recommended

Great hotel. We had booked a standard room but this did not have a balcony so we upgraded to the Marina suite which cost significantly more but was worth the extra. The suite was excellent with high quality materials and fittings throughout. Particularly nice was the spacious bathroom which oozed luxury. The included breakfast was also excellent and, although it was buffet style the staff would bring prepared items such as omelettes and coffee to your table.

Excellent breakfast buffet with egg and coffee bar, assortment of Asian and western Sam and cold foods. Beds and towels were plush - place is brand newly renovated part of a residential building. We didn’t have time to play in the splash pool but it had a kid friendly section and extensive play room!

Ocean Marina offers 380 superior quality, modern floating berths for up to 50 m / 180 ft. boats designed for all boats from day runabouts to super yachts, with power and water utilities.

Diesel and Benzine fuel is available at the fuel dock on the main concrete pontoon of our marina. Please check for the current price at the Marina Office.

There are showers, changing rooms, and toilets separately for male and female at the Yacht Club Locker, underground floor of Ocean Marina Yacht Club.

Please discard your waste in the trash bins provided along the Marina. Any waste oil must be disposed off in proper-sealed containers. A fine will be imposed for flagrant or improper disposal of rubbish or oil into the sea.

Operation hours will be from 08:00 to 17:00 during the Regatta Period. Services such as fax, phone call, stamps and photocopy are available at our Marina Office or Hotel’s Reception Counter and will be charged accordingly.

Laundry service is available at reasonable price. Please contact the Yacht Club’s Reception Counter.

WiFi Internet service is complimentary during the regatta period. Please ask at the Yacht Club’s Reception Counter for the username and password.

O-MART Shop in the Marina features all necessary stuff for purchase at reasonable price, for example, ice, water, snack, coffee, etc. Open daily from 07:00 to 18.00.

The Yacht Club provides lunch box service daily during the race week. All racers or participants can ask for an order form at the Yacht Club’s Reception Counter or Registration Room. Thailand can be divided into two distinct yacht charter regions: the  Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand , where there are countless tropical forest-clad islands with pristine beaches, as well as a good number of vibrant towns and cities to explore. • Wat Tham Suea (Tiger Cave Temple) : located north of Krabi. This Buddhist temple is a sacred site, accessed by a steep flight of stairs to reach its summit where the views alone are worth it. 
• Maya Bay, Phi Phi Le : made famous by the Leonardo di Caprio movie The Beach, where powdered sugar-white sands fringe a utopian turquoise lagoon.
• The Big Buddha, Phuke t: located on the west coast, this vast white-marbled statue is perched upon the hills looking out over Ao Chalong Bay, and can also be viewed from the water.
• Ko Poda : a tiny Andaman island encircled by coral white sand and emerald green waters, great for anchoring in its shallow waters and swimming or snorkeling straight off the yacht.
• Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, Pattaya : head inland to experience the 500-acre botanical garden, which is also a major scientific center dedicated to cycads, tropical palm-like native plants.
• Tarutao National Marine Park : consisting of a group of Arcadian-esque islands in the Straits of Malacca, to the south of Thailand’s Andaman Sea, which also hosted the American reality TV series, Survivor.

Thailand’s vast scattering of islands means that there is something to suit everyone; from modern bustling cities to deserted paradise retreats. The region is also ideal for diving enthusiasts, notably the islands of Koh Samui, Surin and Similan, which are widely considered to yield some of the best dive sites in the world.

Phuket on the Andaman Sea is a major superyacht hub, drawing visitors to its golden shores, and is also ideally situated close to Myanmar, Malaysia and the Indonesian archipelago which opens up another world of charter itinerary options.

Thailand has a rich past with evidence of rice cultivation and bronze casting dating back over 5,000 years. Modern Thai’s have their ancestral roots in Southern China, whose people mitigated over between the 10th and 13th centuries. 

A succession of tribal groups, notably the Khmers, established powerful kingdoms, with the kingdom of Ayutthaya becoming the dominant tribe from the 14th century. After a series of conflicts over the centuries with the Burmese and their subsequent expulsion by national heroes Taksin and Chakri in the 18th century, the Chakri Dynasty was established, with Bangkok as the main capital. Chakri became Rama I, the first king of the Chakri Dynasty, which has held power to this day.

As well as its beautiful islands and swathes of beaches, Thailand is widely known for its exquisite silk products and popular dishes such as Pad Thai and Tom Yum Goong, with seafood, tofu, lemongrass and coconut milk being the main ingredients.

Thailand’s religious, political and cultural ideas have also been influenced through its proximity with South Asia which have been instrumental in the development of Thailand’s culture and national identity we see today, with Buddhism as the major religion.

Motor Yacht Charters in Thailand

Sailing Yacht Charters in Thailand

If it’s a more tranquil and serene experience you’re after, then perhaps a sail yacht  might be the best fit; allowing you to kick back, relax and enjoy the view. The northwest monsoon during the months of November through to March offer light to moderate north-easterly winds, fantastic for sailing around your chosen destinations. You should note though there may be greater wind inconsistencies either side of these months.

Catamarans are also a very popular choice in Thailand, offering greater stability, ample space and larger cabins, as well as being perfect for navigating the shallow waters and picturesque lagoons.

• For motor yacht rentals in Thailand, prices can range from $69,000 to $1.6m per week, plus expenses
• For luxury sailing yacht rentals in Thailand, prices average around $65,100 weekly, plus expenses

In a bid to boost its burgeoning status as a international superyacht hub, The Royal Thai Government has removed the Value Added Tax charge levied on all foreign-flagged yacht charters, welcoming yachts to cruise its waters throughout the season.

Thailand is a year-round cruising destination with temperatures ranging between 25-35 degrees. There are two distinct seasons in Thailand which run concurrent with its northeast and southwest monsoons.

The northeast monsoon is the most favourable for yacht charters as it is generally drier and the winds tend to be more predictable. This season runs from November through March, which coincides with the northern hemisphere winter.

The best conditions for sailing can be found in the Andaman Sea region, which experiences light to moderate winds, with drier conditions and cooler temperatures.

For yacht charters commencing in the Gulf of Thailand, you can meet your yacht near Bangkok, which offers plenty of transport links and direct international flights. 

Head over to the hedonistic pleasure island of  Koh Samui to kick off your yacht charter with a bang. Don't miss sailing through the beautiful Ang Thong National Marine Park, popular for its hidden bays and exotic beaches.

Pattaya is another popular stop in this region, where you can enjoy its lively shores and luxury five-star resorts. A day's sail away will bring you to the breathtaking Mu Koh Chang National Park covered with dense mountains rainforests, magical waterfalls and good hiking trails.

Thailand enjoys convenient proximity with a number of neighboring countries, providing alternative options of where to start or finish on your yacht charter itinerary. Thailand has some of the most high-tech marinas in South East Asia, boasting a multitude of fantastic amenities and facilities.

For yacht charters in the Andaman Sea on Thailand's east coast, you'll find plenty of options. Phuket, Thailand's main yachting hub, offers 4 marinas:

• Royal Phuket Marina - Centrally located, and home to the King's Cup Regatta. It has 100 berths for yachts up to 144ft (35m) in length.
• Yacht Haven – a quiet and sheltered marina located in the far northeast of the island. This marina has 320 berths and caters for yachts up to 100+ meters.
• Ao Po Grand Marina – a great launching post to the spectacular Phang Nga Bay. It offers 300 berths and can also accomdate large yachts up to 100+ meters.
• Phuket Boat Lagoon – located on the island's north-east coast, and boasts the monika 'Phuket's Most Lively Destination Marina'. It has 180 berths for yachts of up to 120ft (32m)

Marinas outside of Phuket include:

• Krabi Boat Lagoon – located on the mainland, only 15 minutes from Krabi International Airport, it has 80 berths that cater to yachts of up to 80ft (24m) in length.
• Royal Langkawi Yacht Club, Malaysia – with easy access to Thailand's waters on the Andaman Sea. This marina is perfectly equipped to handle superyachts, with 205 berths catering for yachts of up to 197ft (60m).

For yacht charters in the Gulf of Thailand:

• Ocean Marina Yacht Club, Pattaya – the largest marina in South East Asia, less than two hours drive from Bangkok, has 455 berths and can accomodate yachts of up to 213ft (65m) LOA.
• Racer Marina, Hua Hin – located on the west coast of the Gulf of Thailand, has 120 berths.

With thousands of miles of coastline and countless islands there are plenty of lovely yacht anchorage spots to be discovered in Thailand. Some of the best can be found around the myriad lush islands in the Andaman Sea. 

For yacht charters commencing in Phuket, there are some gorgeous anchorages to be found, especially along the west coast, including Patong Beach , Karon and Kata . The busiest anchorage is at  Ao Chalong , which incidentally is the only place you can register to cruise outside the borders of Thailand. Located on the south-west peninsula of Phuket you’ll find Nai Harn , one of the most beautiful havens on the island.

Other recommended anchorages in the Andaman Sea;

• Phi Phi Don, Ton Sai Ba y: located on the south side of the two islands. If you prefer to avoid the crowds, the north side is quieter. You can anchor at Phi Phi Le however the water is deep, and the bays are usually quite busy with tour boats.
• Phang Nga National Park:  some easy anchoring can be found in between the sheer rocks. Another splendid anchorage can be found off the east side of Koh Hong.
• Koh Planak:  a popular anchorage spot for exploring the spectacular caves.
• Krabi : there are two good anchorages on the north and south sides of Koh Hong Krabi, plus a pretty anchorage at nearby Koh Pak Bia, off the west coast.
• Koh Lanta:  the best anchorages can be found in the bay at Klong Dao Beach in the north and Kantiang Bay in the south.
• Koh Rok National Park:  you can find good anchorages between the islands, equipped with mooring buoys, but take care as the waters are quite shallow.

Further afield, you will find some of the most sublime anchorages can be found in the Surin and Similan Islands  to the north and Tarutao National Park, near the Malaysian border, to the south. 

With more than 80 islands to explore in this region, there are plenty of magnificent anchorages to be found in the Gulf of Thailand:

• Koh Chang Archipelago:  National Park with over 50 tranquil islands and plenty of spectacular anchorage spots.
• Ko Mak:  an island located to the south of Koh Chang, where there are some lovely anchorages to be found, especially in the northwest. 
• Ko Kut:  Further south lies the breathtaking island of Ko Kut, where you can jump off and hike or kayak to the stunning Klong Yai Ki waterfall.
• Ko Samui:  for an energetic buzz, head to this beautiful island and drop anchor in some of the lovely bays around here, although it does tend to get busy, especially around Christmas and New Year. The southern end of the island is quieter. Head across to Koh Pah Nyang and tie up to a mooring buoy right on the beach.
• Ang Thong National Marine Park: an absolute must for those cruising the Gulf of Thailand, with the most sheltered anchorages found off the bay at Koh Ang Thong.

• Credit cards are only accepted in the large resorts. The Thai Baht is the local tender used throughout the kingdom.
• Both the Surin and Similan Islands in the northern Andaman region are closed to visitors from May to October during the southwest monsoon season.
• Thailand experiences two high tides per day ranging from half a meter to just over three meters which you should be mindful of, especially in some of the marinas.
• Avoid daytrippers around popular hotspots by arriving either first thing in the morning or late afternoon when they all head back to their resorts.
• For sail yacht charters, you'll find optimum sailing conditions tend to be during the evening and in the morning, with winds dying off in the afternoons, especially during the northwest monsoon season.

Andaman Sea

Lying just 8 degrees north of the equator, with clear emerald waters, deserted beaches and world-class diving, the Andaman Sea is a popular year-round destination for yacht charters.

Most yacht charters begin on this vibrant island, which boasts four marinas, a plethora of luxury resorts and spectacular night-life with live music and international DJs, along with an array of beautiful secluded beaches and lagoons. It is no wonder this island has become the superyachting hub of the Andaman Sea.

Anchor off the exquisite Nai Harn Bay, located on the southwest peninsula , and watch the sun set into deep verdigris waters. The next day, head north to Karon beach , where you can grab a bite at Mom Tri's Boathouse , with its extensive wine list and delicious Thai and western dishes.

Asia's biggest and most popular one-week sailing event, the King's Cup Regatta,  is also held annually here in Phuket, attracting the world's glitterati and yachting elites – definitely not an event to be missed!

Phang Nga Bay and Phi Phi Islands

You can't deny the unbelievable beauty of these islands, clustered around the Ao Phang Nga National Park . Their majestic elegance is unrivaled anywhere else in the world, where limestone cliffs climb vertically out of tranquil cerulean waters.

The National Marine Park boasts unspoiled powder-fine beaches, hidden lagoons and mangroves, perfect to explore by kayak. Take the long tail boat over to Gypsy Island , a floating village built on wooden stilts. 

Head south towards Koh Hong , where you can discover secluded beaches only accessible by tender, before moving on to the Phi Phi Islands : one of the most famous locations in Thailand. 

About a 20 minutes cruise from Phuket, you will find the islands of Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Le, characterized by sheer cliffs, stunning beaches and sultry jungles. Phi Phi Le is also home to Maya Bay , the ravishing white-sand beach lagoon made famous by the homonymous Hollywood film. Both islands are interconnected by a sandy isthmus where you will find Ton Sai Bay , a lively hub for restaurants, shops and bars and the beating heart of this small archipelago. For something a bit quieter check out Monkey Bay , a beautiful sandy promontory, abundant with wildlife and tropical birds.

If you're looking for a little extra luxury on your travels, then pay a visit to the islands of Koh Yao Noi where you can treat yourself to a heavenly massage in one of the luxury resorts. Don't miss a trip to Koh Yao Yai , a tiny island, otherwise known as James Bond Island, where they shot scenes from Man with the Golden Gun.

Head to Krabi for amazing snorkeling and diving around beautiful coral reefs where you can discover over 200 species of fish, as well as a host of resorts and good rock climbing areas around the headland.

If it's more serious diving you are after, then cruise south to the remote tiny islands of Hin Daeng and Hin Muang , respectively known as Red Rock and Purple Rock, so-called because of the vivid soft corals that cling to each vertical underwater outcrop. Here you will find shimmering shoals of trevally, redtooth triggers, reef sharks and big morays, as well as the majestic whale shark. Purple Rock is Thailand's highest underwater vertical wall, representing a slightly more challenging dive, especially for novices.

Another must-see destination are the Surin and Similan islands to the north, a beautiful group of islands that offer some of the most superlative diving in the world, thanks to their series of underwater volcanic seascapes, including  Richelieu Rock . This coral-covered pinnacle, located 10km east of the S urin National Park , is undoubtedly one of the most incredible dive sites in Asia, where you will find an abundance of fascinating marine life, such as barracuda, frogfish, manta rays, octopus and whale sharks.

Gulf of Thailand

Bordered by Cambodia , Thailand and Vietnam , the Gulf of Thailand on the kingdom's east flank has always been a popular destination for backpackers.  However, with its surfeit of paradise islands, resplendant national parks and exquisite powder-fine beaches, not to mention fantastic diving, excellent cruising areas and international transport links, this region is fast becoming a popular region for yacht charters too.

Ang Thong Archipelago

Koh Samui is the largest and most popular island in this beautiful archipelago, characterized by dense mountainous jungle, coral reefs, coconut groves and picturesque white-sand beaches. Head north to the beautiful palm-fringed Koh Phangan , Koh Samui's sister island famous for its full moon parties which attract thousands of tourists every month.

Koh Chang Archipelago

Visit the largest island Koh Chang , also known as Elephant Island, which is covered in steep lush jungle rainforests, unearthly waterfalls and a host of native wildlife, especially monkeys! There are also some fantastic diving opportunities around WWII wrecks nearby.

To the north, you'll find Pattaya , a popular mainland destination and home to the Ocean Marina Pattaya , Thailand's largest marina. Here you can enjoy everything from boutique shopping, deluxe spa treatments, vibrant bars and clubs, along with plenty of tranquil sheltered bays perfect for anchoring.

To the far north in neighboring Myanmar you will find the breathtaking Mergui Archipelago , an untouched paradise characterized by pristine white beaches and dense jungle rainforests. There are 800 or so islands to explore, however the destination is so exclusive visitors will need to arrange a permit before they arrive.

This location is completely off the grid, with no WiFi reception to be found anywhere – your cue to switch off, lie back and soak up the tranquility and primitive beauty of this stunning region.

Also in the Andaman sea, you will find the lovely island of  Langkawi, located in northwestern  Malaysia, bordering Thailand in the south. This island is a popular destination for yacht charters and boasts several marinas, including Royal Langkawi Yacht Club . Thailand is a popular yacht charter destination, especially during the winter season, therefore we recommend that you book your yacht charter well in advance of your trip to secure your perfect yacht. It is also useful to book early in order to secure a date when everyone in your charter party is available as the longer you leave it, the more challenging this will be. 

Your yacht charter broker will also need plenty of time to tailor an itinerary to suit you, including securing any nights that you wish to spend in marinas. Advance booking will allow your broker the optimum time to organize everything down to the last detail to ensure your yacht charter goes smoothly.

Thailand Yacht Charter Q&A

Thailand is a year-round cruising destination which enjoys average temperatures of around 25-30 degrees. However, the best time to visit is during the northeast monsoon season which occurs between November and March.

The Andaman Sea region on the west coast also tends to experience more drier and cooler conditions, with light to moderate winds making for optimum cruising.

There should be plenty of yachts to choose from that suit both you and your budget when booking your Thailand yacht charter.

Before you book, be mindful of the additional charter costs, such as berthing, fuel, VAT, food and drink and crew tips, which are not included in the base rate.

Some of the popular hotspots can get very crowded with day trippers, so arrange to visit these areas either first thing in the morning or late afternoon when they return to their hotels.

The Surin and Similan Islands are closed May to October during the southwest monsoon season.

Winds tend to slack off in the afternoons, especially during the northeast monsoon season, something to consider if you are booking a sailing yacht for your charter.

Most yacht charters tend to begin in Phuket, located on the west coast in the Andaman Sea. The island is a renowned superyacht hub which boasts several marinas and reliable international transport links, making it the perfect place to kick start your yacht charter. For yacht charters on the east coast in the Gulf of Thailand, you can fly into Bangkok or to the smaller islands such as Koh Samui where you can meet your yacht before heading off to explore the regions plethora of paradise islands, white sand beaches and incredible national parks.

Thailand has a wide array of yachts to choose from, whether you are looking for a motor yacht, sailing yacht or catamaran. Thailand has become one of the most popular winter destinations to charter, so we do recommend booking well in advance in order to secure your perfect yacht.

Alternatively, please speak with your yacht charter broker , so that they may help you book your ideal yacht and preferred dates for you and your charter party. 

After you have decided on your perfect yacht, your yacht broker will then prepare a legally binding contract for you to sign, which is a standard agreement with conditions set by the terms applicable to the destination. 

MYBA (Worldwide Yachting Association, formerly known as Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association) is the most widely used for yacht charters. 

This "plus all expenses'' contract means you will be required to pay for additional items such as fuel, food and drink, taxes and dockage fees on top of the base charter fee. Typically, guests will incur around 25-30% additional expenses, which are paid upfront, along with 50% of the base rate at least one month prior to your yacht charter.

It takes something very special to impress the jilted residents of the exclusive French town of St. Tropez. Years ago we brought this depot for the rich and famous to a standstill arriving with Virgin Atlantic Challenger II, but we had just set a record across the Atlantic. Sprinting into the port with the striking new, 40-knot Pershing 115 did not quite have the same impact, but this beautiful yacht did stop onlookers in their tracks as they stood and stared.

With the 115, Pershing joins a select band of boatbuilders who are going over the 100-foot mark, taking a quantum leap from the 88-foot former flagship design. This yacht has twice the volume of anything Pershing has ever built. Moreover I was on the first hull and for a prototype design they have done a really superb job of meeting their design and perfomance goals.

Pershing boss Till Antonelli is justifiably proud of the 115. “We knew there was a market out there for a larger Pershing and I think we took a bold step in making the jump straight from 88 to 115 feet. The result is there for all to see and it is a tribute to our new factory and the people who work there, Antonelli says.

The power behind this monster is a pair of 16 cylinder MTU diesels from the 4000 range that produce 3,700 hp each. These engines are huge and they seem to stretch forever along the engine compartment. They are coupled to ZF gearboxes and then the drive goes to KaMeWa water jets in what proved to be a very smooth power train. The water jets are unique in that the inlet ducts of the jets are an integral part of the hull molding which gives a better water flow to the impellers and improves their efficiency.

The two diesels have ample space between them and you see the reason for this when you look aft and see the molding in place for a third water jet. This gives the option to install a centerline TF50 gas turbine to bring the total power up to 13,000 hp. Now you are talking real excitement, and this installation is planned for the next unit that is already under construction. Look for speeds of over 55 knots from this second yacht, speeds that are squarely situated in the Pershing performance territory.

Access to the engine compartment is via a door in the cockpit which leads first to an auxiliary room with the switchboard, watermaker and air conditioning. Forward of this are the crew’s quarters and galley. Stairs lead up from the galley directly into the saloon, close by the dining table, and there is also a dumbwaiter for larger trays. The galley is fitted with all you need for sophisticated meal preparation and the styling, even in these working areas of the yacht, is a close match to the stunning guest areas.

Back aft, the swim platform that protects the water jets is bigger than the average sportsboat. Stairs lead up on both sides to the cockpit, and between them is the garage for the Zodiac tender together with its launching crane. You don’t need to skimp on the water toys on this yacht because there is a second garage that is revealed by raising part of the forward coach roof, housing two jet skis with another launching crane.

The 115 is full of more surprises and one of them comes from opening the door on the right of the saloon entrance. Here there is a stairway winding up to a very private sun deck sitting above the pilothouse. I was trying to determine why there was no sunroof on this yacht similar to those found on other Pershings-this sun deck was the reason. There is another, more public sunpad in the cockpit together with settees and a table, but the upper area is going to be everybody’s favorite.

The sliding saloon doors make an impressive entrance and walking into the saloon takes your breath away. There is none of the rich wood panelling so often found on superyachts, but here the designers have created a beautiful and light, almost minimalistic area with only the dining chairs and the blue leather locker fronts providing color. The settees are white leather, the woodwork a very pale gray-tinted ash, and the sides and overhead a very pale cream.

Quality is enhanced by integral modern artwork above the entrance door and on two of the side window pillars. The relaxing lounge area is aft and a dining table for 10 is forward in a open plan arrangement. Forward at the helm there are three imposing adjustable seats that create what looks like an altar to high performance.

The captain sits in the center chair, which is flanked by the engine and jet controls fitted into the armrests. Here he is master of all he surveys and he really can play tunes with the sensitive machinery controls. In front of him there are seven screens that provide all the information needed for high speed navigation and control, plus sophisticated monitoring systems. The latter have been specially developed by Pershing to control and monitor everything on board except the main engines. The engines have their own MTU dedicated displays and there is a separate display for monitoring the water jet. Large Simrad radar and chart displays provide a full picture of the navigation scene.

A couple of steps down from saloon level takes you into what is virtually a private cinema. Wide lounging settees and chairs face a big flat screen that can be fed from video, DVD or cable or satellite TV. This will be a popular evening relaxing area. Another stairway takes you to the staterooms where the layout is about the only conventional thing on this yacht: a master, a VIP and two twin cabins.

These are all decorated in a similar minimalistic style but with strong colors added through the leather bed bases, the mirror trims and the bright silk bed covers. The result is both modern and restful, with the spacious master stateroom occupying the full beam and featuring an angled bed and deep side windows to give natural light. The VIP stateroom in the bow is almost semi-circular in shape and large enough to have its own settee.

The heads have the same pale gray wood and modern fittings, including hemispherical glass basins. The soles here are wood but have metal strip inserts to give good grip when wet. The extravagant quality of the master stateroom can be seen in the fitting of his-and-her heads for the use of the owners.

The interior of this yacht may be stunning but it is the exterior styling that really sets the scene. The hull has the navy blue and silver combination that was pioneered by Pershing and has since been copied by many. This color scheme complements the series of rising curves that forms the superstructure and, like so much about this design, everything looks well integrated. The practical aspects of the design have been well thought out in most areas, but you only really appreciate the true quality of this yacht out on the water at speed.

We ran the 115 from Cannes to St.Tropez, which is a well-worn path for fast motoryachts. You appreciate one of the qualities of water jet drive with the very delicate maneuvering that is possible with this big yacht. Despite her size you can inch her forward or sideways delicately close to the dock, yet she will spin like a top when you need a quick response. It takes some skill and familiarity with the controls to get to this level of control but the effort is well worthwhile.

Out at sea the response is immediate and thrilling. The thrust from the jets powers the yacht onto plane and keeps it accelerating right up to its terminal velocity. The lack of vibration is impressive, and steering control is delicate and precise when you switch from the steerable joystick controls to the wheel steering. For trim adjustment, the 115 uses the latest interceptor system rather than trim tabs and these give an immediate response that reduces the adjustment period.

On our run down to St.Tropez we had a race with the TGV high-speed train along the coast. The train won that one, but there was no doubt we were fastest on the water that day. Pershing has found just the right balance in this yacht. This design has all the style you want to impress others, both inside and out, yet this is combined with very comfortable living on board. As for performance, 40 knots will meet most requirements but if you want to outrun everything on the water then you can always invest in the gas turbine option. Then maybe, you might even beat that train.

Her twin MTU 16V4000 series diesel engines (total horse power of 7200) transmit through Kamewa waterjets to allow this 189 gross ton maxi-yacht speeds of up to 40 knots. Pershing yachts are produced in the Mondolfo shipyard (located right in front of the original yard) , a futuristic site of 53,000 square metres – out of which more than 36,000 are open air – designed by the architect Sandro Sartini . This is not just a production site: this is a striking scenario, which perfectly matches beauty, technology, functionality, and dream, a space painstakingly designed for enhancing the continuous development of the range, also in terms of yacht sizes.

The new production site features a large and innovative painting booth of 4400 sq. m, where boats are dry painted. The test basin (33 m long, 7.5 m wide and 2.3 m deep) is used for all hydraulic tests (engines, exhausts, bilges, and generators) and for waterproofing tests of yachts. The travel lift, with a carrying capacity of 130 tons, completes activities with ship haulage and launching in the test basin. The brand is in constant search for new ideas and new paths for a further international growth. Pershing stands out for its capacity to customize its models according to the different needs of any new market worldwide.

The motor yacht PERSHING 115/2 is a 35 metre 115 (foot) well sized composite vessel which was newly built at Pershing (Ferretti Group) and devised by Ferretti Group Engineering Division . Sleeping 10 passengers and 4 crew members, motor yacht PERSHING 115/2 was named 115/2 .

The naval architecture office that made the design with respect to the yacht is Ferretti Group Engineering Division . Further, the interior designing was sucessful creation of Fulvio De Simoni . The Pershing 115 motor yacht combines capable sea going qualities with a very impressive cruising speed. The Pershing 115 is fitted with engines varying in size depending on the boat and they range from 3,700 hp and an impressive 42 knots cruising speed to 5,000 hp gas turbine and a seriously fast 55 knots cruising speed! The Perishing 115 combines this superior performance with comfortable conditions and sleek attractive lines.

Powered by twin MTU / TEXTRON LYCOMING gas turbine engines, PERSHING 115/2 will attain a top speed of 55 knots. Coupled to the PERSHING 115/2 engines are twin water jets.
