‘Below Deck’ guests facing sea of legal trouble in prescription drug plot, authorities say

A doctor who appeared on a hit Bravo reality show was arrested on Long Island — accused of stealing the identities of cast members of the show in a scheme to obtain prescription drugs, according to law enforcement officials.

Dr. Francis Martinis — a urologist in Fort Salonga — and his wife, Jessica Martinis, who both appeared on the Bravo reality-show franchise “Below Deck,” are accused of allegedly using the personal information of other cast members to write bogus prescriptions for oxycodone.

Investigators said the scheme started to unfold earlier this year, when Jessica Martinis went to a pharmacy in Kings Park in an attempt to fill a bogus oxycodone prescription in January. According to those officials, the handwritten prescription raised concerns, prompting a pharmacist to call police.

A subsequent investigation revealed that the doctor had sent dozens of prescriptions for oxycodone to Suffolk County pharmacies over a two-year period, law enforcement officials said. Many of these prescriptions were allegedly fake — written under the names of two “Below Deck” cast members.

Investigators said that Jessica Martinis would pick up the prescriptions and pay in cash as part of the alleged plot.

The duo was arrested in May and charged with eight counts of criminal sale of controlled substance and falsifying business records, law enforcement officials said.

Investigators are not revealing whether they believe the couple was using or reselling the drugs, or both.

Former New York Homeland Security Director Michael Balboni said the allegations are serious, especially amid an ongoing national addiction and overdose crisis.

“He abused the celebrity position that he had on that ship to take the identities of his crew members — if that is proven — and then use that to buy drugs,” Balboni said. “That is a common scheme for a common criminal.”

The pair were among the guests who chartered Sirocco, a luxury yacht that set sail on the French Riviera in 2019 and had part of their trip documented for “Below Deck Mediterranean.” The doctor was a guest once again the following year, this time on another “Below Deck” spinoff, “Below Deck Sailing Yacht.” The series documented life on a 180-foot sailboat that cruised the Ionian Sea.

Following their appearances in the franchise, the doctor-and-wife duo attended promotional events with other crew members.

Peter A. Crusco, the attorney representing the couple, said his clients pleaded not guilty.  "The evidence will show the charges are bogus and cannot be substantiated," he said.

Bravo, which is owned by NBCUniversal, the parent company of NBC News, did not respond to a request for comment.

Is a Crew Member About to Get Kicked off 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht'?

Jun. 5 2020, Updated 1:08 p.m. ET

After the absolute dumpster fire that was last season’s Below Deck, Below Deck Sailing Yacht has been relatively smooth sailing—even idyllic, for a Bravo show.

However, the new spinoff sailing series has just entered the midseason mark, which is when the drama usually tends to heat up with the cast swapping make-out buddies, losing their tempers with each other and generally being all-around messes.

In the teasers for the second half of the season, audiences were tantalized to see the possibility of a threesome brewing between Paget, Ciara and Georgia, and, of course, more ongoing drama between the most annoying couple on the boat, Adam and Jenna .

But what really caught a lot of people’s attention in the teasers was when Captain Shephard said to Jenna, “I would be very surprised if somebody few to Corfu with cocaine.”

Naturally, audiences are clamoring to figure out just who got caught with cocaine in their bag and whether that’s the end of their professional sailing career. Fans of the show will also remember the infamous drug incident from Below Deck’ s premiere episode, and the show’s no-nonsense policy when it comes to illegal substances on-board.

Keep reading while we dig into Below Deck 's cocaine scandals.

Which crew member on 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' got caught with with a stash of cocaine?

In the teaser scenes for Below Deck Sailing ’s March 30 episode, fans saw Captain Glenn confiding in Jenna, saying that he would be surprised if someone flew to Corfu with cocaine.

But in the next scene we see Captain Glenn rummaging through someone’s bag asking, “Is there anything in here that you don’t want me to find? What’s in here?” The captain ominously also adds that, “there might be a change of personnel.”

Although we don’t know exactly who the alleged drugs belong to, we do know that having illegal substances onboard is an extremely serious offense. If it turns out that Captain Glenn does find cocaine among any of the crew’s belongings, it’s safe to assume that they will be immediately fired and replaced on the boat.

What happened the last time someone found cocaine on the show?

Fans may recall the epic drug bust in the very first episode of Below Deck ’s Season 1 when stewardess Kat Held found a bag of white powder and a rolled-up dollar bill in a guest’s cabin. After Captain Lee was informed, he immediately turned his boat around to head to the dock, without even informing the charter guests until they were asked to leave the boat mid-charter .

Not only did the incident cement the no-nonsense tone of Captain’s Lee’s managing style with his crew and guests alike, it was also extremely entertaining television to watch a spoiled, rich charter guest like Johnny Eyelash (yes, that was his name) not realize what exactly was happening until he was unceremoniously kicked off the boat mid-charter.

"It was a tough situation to be in. On the one hand, we want clients to be happy. On the other hand, I don't want my boat to get boarded by the Coast Guard, and I don't want to go to jail for 25 years," Captain Lee said in his book, Running Against the Tide . "I made the decision to kick them off the boat.”

We can’t wait to see the rest of this season’s drama unfold on the Parsifal III. Tune in to Below Deck Sailing Yacht on Mondays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

Below Deck drug bust: How many have there been for the Bravo franchise?

There have been a few drug busts featured in the Below Deck franchise.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht has saved the best drama for the last two episodes of the season. The drug scandal that was previewed in the mid-season teaser is finally playing out.

Having illegal drugs on a yacht is serious business for the crew. As Captain Glenn Shepard said, he could face jail time if a guest has drugs onboard.

Below Deck Season 1

The flagship season of Below Deck featured a cocaine scandal and it happened on the very first charter. Second stew Kat Held found the substance while cleaning a guest’s cabin. She immediately told chief stew Adrienne Gang.

Captain Lee Rosbach confirmed it was cocaine, leading him to turn the yacht around. He has a zero-tolerance policy for illegal drugs and bounced the guests off the Honor yacht.

“They hold the record. They were on the boat for less than 22 hours, and they were gone. I kept their money! At the time, the crew gave Held somewhat of a hard time because while the guests paid the fare, they didn’t leave a tip,” the captain said during a Stars Marketing Group event in Florida in January.

Producer discovered cast member has drugs

Below Deck producer and creator Mark Cronin revealed in an Ask Me Anything for Reddit that he once found a cast member with drugs.

“We once had a cast member have her boyfriend drop off special shampoo for her every couple of days. It turned out the shampoo bottles were stuffed with coke! They are always sober when they audition you never know what someone might be like once they’re not until you see it,” he said.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Below Deck (@belowdeckbravo)

Mark did not spill the name of the crew member. The incident did not play out on camera but is still one the producer calls an intense moment.

Below Deck Med

Captain Sandy Yawn will face a similar issue as Captain Glenn during Season 5 of Below Deck Mediterranean.

“It’s been brought to my attention that you have drugs on board,” she is heard saying to someone in the trailer .

Fans will have to wait to see if Captain Sandy is talking to a crew member or if another charter guest incident is going to go down.

Drug scandals are becoming the new drama to lure fans into the Below Deck franchise.

There is more to come on Below Deck Sailing Yacht and Below Deck Med as well.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.

Below Deck Med's Hannah Ferrier Speaks Out After Being Accused of Having Drugs On-Board

Chief stewardess Hannah Ferrier was accused of keeping drugs in her cabin during the latest episode of Below Deck Mediterranean

Below Deck Mediterranean star Hannah Ferrier is defending herself after she was accused on of stashing drugs aboard the yacht.

On Monday night's episode of the hit Bravo series, bosun Malia White reported Ferrier, the ship's chief stewardess, to Captain Sandy Yawn for having Valium and a weed pen in their cabin. Ferrier was then confronted by Yawn, 55, about what was found — before the episode concluded on a cliffhanger.

On Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen after the episode, White claimed that she saw Ferrier take Valium in an attempt to get her anxiety under control after she had a panic attack over Chef Kiko’s departure.

"I think in that moment when she asked for Valium is when it really hit me that those were the pills that she was taking every night all season,” said White, 30. “That’s when it became a real serious thing for me.”

White also denied to host Andy Cohen that she reported Ferrier as revenge for her rooming situation: "I already had my bunk at that point, so, yeah, it was because it was my duty to. I don’t want to lose my licensing."

Ferrier, who was live-tweeting the episode, defended herself by sharing a photo of the drugs in question.

"I like Malia’s arranging skills,” she wrote on Twitter. “So that’s prescribed Valium, CBD (which is legal in Spain), a lighter (not sure what this has to do with anything) and my passport holder… And for anyone who’s interested the prescription is on the other side of the box as shown…”

In another tweet responding to a fan, Ferrier reiterated that the medications were legal.

"No...she went into my cabin AFTER we had the fight about cabin arrangements...Then went through my handbag and took a photo of my prescribed medication and legal CBD and sent it to Sandy," she wrote.

However, on WWHL , White claimed that having drugs — prescription or otherwise — violates charter policy, telling Cohen, "It’s not legal to take Valium on a yacht unsupervised, whether you have a prescription or not."

"Hannah knows that what she was doing was wrong," she said. "She knows that it’s against the rules."

Ferrier — who is currently seven months pregnant with her first child — said in early June that that the fifth season of Below Deck Mediterranean will be her last .

"I think I'm probably done," she told Entertainment Tonight . "I learned when I first started yachting in my very early 20s, you know, I would see these women who were in their late 30s, 40s, sitting at a bar, getting wasted with 20-year-olds living in a tiny cabin, and I was like, 'I don't want [that].' "

"I want this to be a good, fun, enriching experience that allows me to travel a lot, but I don't want to get to the stage where I'm locked into yachting and there's nothing else in my life except that," Ferrier continued. "It's a bit different if you're captain, but as a chief stew? They just don't seem like very happy people to me."

Below Deck Mediterranean airs Mondays (9 p.m. ET) on Bravo.

Below Deck: Behind the Scenes of That Shocking Hannah Twist

below deck sailing yacht drugs reddit

By Julie Miller

Below Deck Mediterranean showrunner Nadine Rajabi had no idea that one of her series’ stars, Hannah Ferrier , had drugs onboard the mega-yacht Wellington while filming the series last fall.

Rajabi learned of the substances when a camera aboard the Wellington caught Captain Sandy Yawn receiving a text message tip-off from Ferrier’s bunkmate, Malia White. “I’m sorry but I have to report this,” White wrote alongside a photo of Ferrier’s monogrammed toiletry bag, a packet of Valium, and what appears to be marijuana. (Ferrier, who declined to comment to Vanity Fair, said on Twitter that the Valium was prescription and the other substance was CBD.)

“I have to be honest. My heart sank,” said Rajabi, who has worked with Ferrier—one of the spin-off’s only two major recurring stars—for five seasons. “It was very shocking.”

Had this been another kind of reality series, a badly behaving cast member might have been promoted, let alone spared, for the sake of drama and ratings. But the Below Deck universe operates differently than most reality shows, keeping production and cast members mostly separate—aside from confessional-style interviews filmed off-site between charters—in part because of the unique liabilities involved with the luxury yacht at the center of production. “Cast members” must work round the clock to operate a mega-yacht in myriad weather conditions while serving (and keeping safe) charter guests, regardless of the demands of the show. As such, producers do not interact with cast members during charter and cannot influence the captain’s decision on how to operate the boat.

“It’s the beauty and the downfall of the show,” said Rajabi. “We’re at the mercy of a boat, maritime law, and nature—which is so different from anything else you ever see on Bravo. We’re seeing it as you’re seeing it all unfold.”

Shortly after Yawn received the text message, she sat down with Ferrier—her longtime coworker and head of interior—and told her that she would have to leave the boat. The issue was not whether her Valium was prescribed. (Ferrier has suffered anxiety attacks during previous seasons.) Maritime law stipulates that crew members must check medications in with the captain.

Not long before new guests arrived for a charter, the mega-yacht Wellington was suddenly down its head of interior. And Below Deck Mediterranean was suddenly without its reliably deadpan costar.

“We have never had anything like this. It was completely unexpected,” Rajabi told Vanity Fair.

Well, the twist was unexpected for Rajabi. White, who was bunking with Ferrier, had her suspicions. “I saw Hannah, on multiple occasions, taking pills,” White told Vanity Fair. “I didn’t know what they were. And then I started to notice Valium wrappers in our trash can. That got me worried—and then, after the panic attack, when I finally saw the package on the counter, I realized it was Valium. That was a little concerning for me.” (Cameras are not allowed in crew bathrooms unless two crew members are present.)

Asked whether she considered confronting Ferrier directly, White said, “It’s not my place to bring up what she’s taking. I don’t have any right knowing her medical history. That’s between her and the captain.”

When White stumbled upon Ferrier’s Valium, however, she knew she had to raise the subject with Yawn. “I think you can hear me say [off-camera], ‘Goddammit,’ because I was just like, Ugh. I didn’t want all this to happen,” explained White. “So my protocol with that is give it to the captain, and ultimately the captain makes that decision.”

Several hours went by between White taking the photo and sending it to Yawn. In that time, White—who said she has never had to report a fellow crew member for substances before—said she was contemplating how to proceed. “This is my first time having to do this and there’s a lot going on onboard. You’ve got the filming crew, you’ve got crew, you’ve got all these moving parts. And obviously I’m worried about the ramifications of it being on TV. But ultimately I knew I had to do something because most importantly on a boat, crew and safety come first. I knew what I had to do. I just was really hesitant to do it because obviously it sucks.”

White said she “definitely” has regrets about her handling of the subject. “I think my language about it all is a little insensitive,” White said, referencing a conversation she had with Yawn about Ferrier’s anxiety. “When I went to Captain Sandy to report that something was up with Hannah, obviously I didn’t know what to call it. I don’t know what medical conditions Hannah suffers from. Again, that’s not my place. But I think I could’ve handled it a little more delicately for sure. This was a huge learning curve for me.”

Since last Monday’s episode aired, White faced a social media backlash from viewers who sided with Ferrier, the longer-running Below Deck castmate. But it isn’t a black-and-white issue for viewers, especially given Ferrier’s clear disenchantment with yachting and dropped morale.

Admitted Rajabi, “I think that Hannah was between a rock and a hard place of not knowing what she wanted to do after yachting and also knowing that she’d kind of outgrown yachting. I think that she’d be the first to tell you that her heart wasn’t in it.… But I felt really bad. Everybody was in a really, really difficult spot, and that’s a hard thing to watch.”

“The truth is, maritime law was broken, and Sandy had to make a decision. And the decision was, she has a reputation at sea,” said Rajabi. Even if Yawn had wanted to let the misdeed go, added Rajabi, Yawn couldn’t have. The showrunner explained that the Wellington has an additional security camera on its bridge, administered not by Bravo but by the mega-yacht’s management company, to act like the black box of an airplane. “It was all being recorded. It’s almost like a police body cam.… Sandy could have been in really big trouble had she not reported it.”

Rajabi said it was only after the White text tip-off, and Ferrier’s firing, that she instructed production to go back and comb through hundreds of hours’ worth of footage they had amassed from the cameras planted onboard. “A lot of times we don’t know what’s happening [because there are so many cameras rolling at all times], but the beauty of the show is the whole boat is rigged.… I said, ‘Can you guys go back and see if Hannah was taking any sort of pills? Is there a Valium box? Is there a pill? Is there anything?’ So we basically have to back out of it to see, does the evidence exist?”

The shocking plot twist reminded her of another that took producers by surprise, also involving White—in season two, when White and chef Adam Glick revealed partway through the season (and a Below Deck love triangle ) that they had actually known each other before filming. Rajabi had just happened to be listening to Glick’s audio channel one night when he and his coworkers were partying in Croatia, and she heard Glick seemingly reference their prior relationship. After that, she said production went back through hundreds’ of hours of footage to find clues of their familiarity.

“We’ve had a lot of shocking things,” said Rajabi, rattling off a few juicy storylines including Ferrier committing another cardinal maritime sin of hooking up with a charter guest and White’s love triangle. Of the latter, Rajabi said, “That was one of those things where it was like, ‘Just tell us the truth before we start shooting. Because no matter what, the truth always comes out, and the cameras always catch it.’”

White said that the social media backlash around her decision to report Ferrier has opened her up to a new kind of criticism on social media.

“The hardest part, for me anyways, is trying to explain maritime law and duties when a lot of the times people just see us as characters,” said White. “They forget that there’s a much bigger picture than just the friendships onboard.” Speaking about the Valium fiasco, she said, “It has never been my intention to be out to get someone. I’m honestly just trying to do my job properly and look out for everyone on board.”

Even with the backlash, though, White said that she would “love” to return for another Below Deck Mediterranean season.

“My first season there was a love triangle,” laughed White. “This season, the Hannah thing. I would love a season where it’s chilled. Where Malia’s not caught up in anything.”

‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’: Did This Dude Bring Drugs on The Boat?

The Secret To 'Summer House' Becoming Bravo's Best Show? Relatability!

'nyc prep' finally released from the bravo vaults ... but maybe it should have stayed locked up, the dramatic 'real housewives of potomac' cast shake-up was surprising — yet entirely necessary, 'the real housewives of dubai' sets season 2 premiere date on bravo.

The sails might not be the only thing getting high next week on Below Deck Sailing Yacht . In the preview for the next episode of the Bravo series, we see Captain Glenn get even madder than he was when some oil spilled on the boat, after learning there could be an illegal substance on board.

During the last charter of the season, one of the guests is seen asking her friend, “Are you okay?” and explaining, “His eyes are rolling back in his head.”

We then hear Captain Glenn say, “I would be very surprised if somebody flew to Corfu with cocaine,” and stating, “If there are illegal substances on board, I have to do something.” He goes on to say, “He’s in deep shit if there’s drugs on board in his cabin,” and we hear a loud sniff from behind a guest room door. Uh oh, looks like this bro’s paddleboarding fun is about to come crashing down.

We’ll have to wait until next week to find out exactly what happens, but fans of the franchise will remember this isn’t the first — or the last — time that drugs on the boat were an issue. In Season 1 of Below Deck , stewardess Kat Held found a bag of white power and a rolled-up dollar bill in a guest’s cabin, causing Captain Lee to turn that boat right around and kick their butts off of it mid-charter. And in the latest trailer for Below Deck Mediterranean Season 5, premiering on Bravo Monday, June 1, Captain Sandy is seen having a stern conversation where she says “It’s been brought to my attention that you have drugs on board.” Yikes! Come on people, you’re on a beautiful yacht — you should just be high on life!

Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Monday at 9pm ET/PT on Bravo.

NY doctor and wife who appeared on Bravo’s ‘Below Deck’ charged with fake opioid prescription scheme

  • Copy Link copied

NEW YORK (AP) — A doctor and his wife who appeared on the Bravo reality series “Below Deck” were arraigned in New York on Thursday on charges that they filled out bogus opioid prescriptions using the names of cast members from the show.

Urologist Francis Martinis and his wife, Jessica Martinis, of Fort Salonga, New York, were each charged with criminal sale of a prescription for a controlled substance by a practitioner and falsifying business records.

They appeared in state court in Riverhead on Long Island after first being arrested in May. Both pleaded not guilty, according to their attorney. The couple were released without bail and are due back in court Jan. 25.

“Below Deck,” which premiered on Bravo in 2013, follows crew members and the passengers they cater to aboard a luxury yacht.

The Martinises appeared on the spinoff “Below Deck Mediterranean” in 2019. Francis Martinis also appeared on “Below Deck Sailing Yacht” the following year.

The couple’s attorney, Peter Crusco, called the charges bogus.

“My clients have pled not guilty and are presumed innocent, and look forward to their day in court to clear their names,” Crusco said in a text message.

In a report released Thursday, May 30, 2024, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said they are continuing to investigate a link between two new RSV vaccines and cases of a rare nervous system disorder in older U.S. adults. (National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, NIH via AP, File)

Prosecutors said Francis Martinis, 55, transmitted prescriptions for oxycodone to Long Island pharmacies with the names of “Below Deck” cast members listed as the purported patients. Jessica Martinis, 38, then picked up the drugs and paid in cash, prosecutors said.

Jessica Martinis first raised red flags in January 2023 when she tried to fill a handwritten prescription for oxycodone in someone else’s name, prosecutors said.

An investigation turned up evidence of numerous fake oxycodone prescriptions that Francis Martinis had written with the names of cast members from the reality show, authorities said.

None of the oxycodone was actually intended for the people named in the prescriptions, prosecutors said.

“Physicians are held to a high standard, as they take an oath to uphold a number of professional ethical standards when they begin their careers,” Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney said in a statement. “The conduct Dr. Martinis allegedly engaged in with his wife not only violated this oath, but it also violated the law.”

Frank Tarentino, the federal Drug Enforcement Agency’s special agent in charge for New York, said, “These arrests are a reminder that a doctor’s illicit drug diversion can lead to irreparable harm like the drug overdoses and poisonings currently plaguing our nation.”

A representative for NBCUniversal, Bravo’s parent company, declined to comment.

A doctor who appeared on a hit Bravo reality show was arrested on Long Island -- accused of stealing the identities of cast members of the show in a scheme to obtain prescription drugs, according to law enforcement officials.

Dr. Francis Martinis -- a urologist in Fort Salonga -- and his wife, Jessica, who both appeared in the hit Bravo reality show franchise "Below Deck," are accused of allegedly using the personal information of other cast members to write bogus prescriptions for oxycodone.

Investigators said the scheme started to unfold earlier this year, when Jessica went to a pharmacy in Kings Park in an attempt to fill a bogus oxycodone prescription in January. According to those officials, the hand-written prescription raised concerns, prompting a pharmacist to call police.

A subsequent investigation revealed that the doctor had sent dozens of prescriptions for oxycodone to Suffolk County pharmacies over a two-year period, law enforcement officials said. Many of these prescriptions were allegedly fake -- written under the names of two "Below Deck" cast members.

The conduct Dr. Martinis allegedly engaged in with his wife not only violated this oath, but it also violated the law."

The duo was arrested in May and charged with eight counts of criminal sale of controlled substance and falsifying business records, law enforcement officials tell NBC New York.

Investigators did not reveal if they believe the couple were using, reselling the drugs or both.

Former New York Homeland Security Director Michael Balboni explained the allegations are serious, especially amid an ongoing national addiction and overdose crisis.

Balboni said, "He abused the celebrity position that he had on that ship to take the identities of his crew members -- if that is proven -- and then use that to buy drugs, that is a common scheme for a common criminal."

The pair were among the guests who chartered Sirocco, a luxury yacht that set sail on the French Riviera in 2019 and had part of their trip documented for "Below Deck Mediterranean." The doctor was also a guest once again the following year, this time on another Below Deck spin-off, "Below Deck Sailing Yacht." The series featured life on a 180-foot sailboat that cruised the Ionian Sea.

Following their appearances in the franchise, the doctor and wife duo attended promotional events with other crew members.

Peter Crusco, an attorney for the couple. said they both pleaded not guilty and that the "evidence will show the charges are bogus and cannot be substantiated."

"The DEA is rooted in an 'all hands on deck' approach to save lives from illegal drug misuse and abuse through enforcement, education, and prevention," said DEA Special Agent in Charge Frank Tarentino. "We identified two individuals who brazenly diverted controlled substances intended for medicinal purposes to the illegal drug market.  These arrests are a reminder that a doctor’s illicit drug diversion can lead to irreparable harm like the drug overdoses and poisonings currently plaguing our nation."

Bravo did not respond to a request for comment from NBC New York.

The two are scheduled to appear in court Thursday.

Balboni said, "Prosecutors will want to send a message to all other physicians -- you have special access to these drugs, you know how they work and if you do this you will be prosecuted."

Bravo is owned by NBCUniversal, the parent company of NBC New York and Telemundo 47.

Below Deck Alum Captain Lee Rosbach Details Being On ‘Drug Boat’ in the 1980s

Before starring on Below Deck , Captain Lee Rosbach already held a pretty impressive maritime resume. I mean, this guy has been dealing with “swinging dick[s] on board ” for over 40 years. That’s a long career, and yet, he’s still branching out into other avenues, showing zero signs of ever slowing down. Next up for this hater of screwed pooches is Deadly Waters With Captain Lee , aka his newest series over on Oxygen.

Anything can happen over international waters. Captains are often privy to pirates, fires, Mother Nature, steak-licking chefs, and sometimes, mechanical malfunctions within their own engine rooms. Oh yeah, there’s also the potential for drug smugglers. Captain Sandy Yawn and Malia White cannot possibly be onboard every single vessel out there, spot-checking each for maritime law compliances, so this tracks.

In all seriousness though, Captain Lee has his own story to tell on this matter. In the 1980’s, our guy was hired to captain a “drug boat.” Thankfully, the former Bravo boat daddy didn’t get into any legal troubles over this event.

Captain Lee’s “unintentional” drug smuggling charter

Captain Lee sat down with Oxygen to help promote his series on their network. When asked if he’d ever witnessed anything suspicious, he noted an event from the 1980s. “I was delivering a sailboat off the Turks and Caicos Islands with two buddies of mine,” he began.

Here, the owner of a Formosa sailing yacht hired Captain Lee and his bruhs to take their yacht to Nassau. Then, they were to quickly bring it back to Turks and Caicos. You see, back then, owners could only keep their vessels within the British territories for six months at a time. To get around this pesky little rule, yachts could simply sail to another country, check in, and then easily have their six-month stays renewed upon their returns.

This owner’s expiration date was approaching, which is how Captain Lee was tasked with this assist. However, “they had a surveyor who was on the boat a day before we left, and the surveyor knew this manufacture of boat really, really well,” he explained. He then added that this surveyor “promptly” called the U.S. Coast Guard to report that “This is a drug boat.”

“So, we got boarded by the Coast Guard, and they stayed on board, drug our asses all the way back to Miami, and kept us there for three days,” Captain Lee continued. Luckily, “the drug hole that was on board was empty.” Therefore, Captain Lee and his crew faced zero legal troubles.

Deadly Waters with Captain Lee premieres at 8/9c on June 1 on Oxygen.

Dr. Nichols on Below Deck Sailing Yacht primary dubbed 'most obnoxious charter guest' ever

Dr. Nichols, Below Deck primary guest, drinks, demands and displays way too much in episode 11

Daisy Kelliher dealing with Dr. Nichols, Below Deck Sailing Yacht primary guest, during season 3 episode 11

Bad news for the Parsifal III crew: it looks like Charles Sanders and Erica Rose have officially been dethroned as Below Deck Sailing Yacht 's most nightmarish guests of season three.

Meet Dr. Nichols, a Connecticut-based dermatologist who charters the boat with her husband Chris Cabanillas and their friends in episode 11 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 . Already short-staffed by the departures of deckhand Tom Pearson and second stew Gabriela Barragan , the crew is quickly swamped by Nichols and her group's relentless requests and constant complaints.

"He's very particular," chief stew Daisy Kelliher warns her coworkers about one of the guests, who gripes about both the bacon and shrimp in his Bloody Mary: "A little weak on the bacon...you need two stalks of bacon. I asked for two jumbo shrimp, look at the size of these things."

"If a guest is going to complain about something like this at the beginning of a charter...I know there's more coming, it's not going to end," Chef Marcos Spaziani worries.

The demands extend beyond the kitchen, with Dr. Nichols and company wanting every item of clothing steamed, requesting more sun loungers than the boat physically had onboard, loudly complaining about how much the charter costs ($60,000, FYI) and asking for Daisy to "juice grapes" for a bar concoction called a "Transfusion."

"I definitely don't think these guests realize we are a stew down, but even if they did, I don't think they'd give a f*ck," the chief stew says in a confessional.

Things hit a new low during one particularly drunk dinner, which the group requested to have at 10pm, keeping the entire crew up late. Wearing a very revealing top, Dr. Nichols is immortalized as "Dr. Nipples" thanks to an ill-timed wardrobe malfunction at the dining table while Chef Marcos relays that evening's menu. The group gets progressively drunker and at one point, one guest physically tosses money at Daisy as an "apology" for their behavior.

What happened to Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5? Here's what we know

W hat happened to Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5? That’s the question on fans’ minds after it was revealed Below Deck Med Season 9 will air following Below Deck Season 11.

Ever since Below Deck Sailing Yacht premiered on Bravo, it has followed the OG show.

Below Deck Med would then hit Bravo airwaves once the sailing show had wrapped it’s run.

That’s the way it’s been for the past four years, except for last year when Below Deck Down Under Season 2 aired after Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

So why all of a sudden is there a switch in the schedule, especially since Below Deck Med Season 8 just ended in January?

Let’s take a look at what we know.

What happened to Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5?

The reason for the change-up likely has to do with the sexual misconduct allegations that came out against Gary King after Season 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht was filmed.

Leaked photos revealed that Daisy Kelliher and Gary were back for another stint aboard Parsifal III with Captain Glenn. The two of them returning was music to fans’ ears as they helped make Below Deck Sailing Yacht a huge success with Colin MacRae.

However, a couple of weeks later, news broke that a member of the production team came out via Rolling Stone to accuse Gary of unwanted sexual advances and harassment. Gary was soon removed from the BravoCon 2023 list, making clear Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 could be in trouble.

Unlike when Peter Hunziker was fired by Bravo for a racist post and then edited out of the season, Gary has not been fired from the show. Plus, editing Gary out really wouldn’t be an option because he plays such a pivotal role and makes a good story even if fans don’t like him.

All of this means that what would have been Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 could be scrapped. Should that be the case, a new season of the sailing show won’t air for a long time.

Then again, maybe the powers that be are still trying to figure out how to save the season with Gary, and they just need more time.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans share thoughts on schedule change

A Reddit thread devoted to the Below Deck Med and Below Deck Sailing Yacht swap had fans buzzing.

“I would absolutely be okay with a delay if it means not having to watch Gary. I’m not sure I’ll even watch if he’s on it, especially since Colin isn’t. And Glenn the enabler has went from being best captain to #3 now…,” wrote one user.

Another admitted to liking the sailing show with Daisy but could do without Gary and would be fine if Season 5 never aired.

“AS IT SHOULD BE. Bravo needs to learn- you hire racists, you hire sexual abusers, you’re going to lose money. The end.” was another remark.

A different user doesn’t think the season will air and noticed Daisy switched her Instagram bio, so that may be a clue that Season 5 will never see the light of day. There was also speculation that Below Deck spin-offs will soon be combined for money reasons.

“That is a possibility or they’re still editing the heck out of it to reduce his role as much as possible but that has got to be a monumental task. I doubt they’d scrub an entire season but maybe more things have come out behind the scenes we’re unaware of and they have to do what they have to do especially with all the negative publicity they’re getting with Andy Cohen lately.” declared another user.

Along with Below Deck Sailing Yacht being pushed back, Below Deck Down Under fate seems to be up in the air. As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Captain Jason Chambers asked for fans’ help with Season 3.

Be sure to keep checking back for more news on th e Below Deck franchise.

Below Deck Med Season 9 premieres on Monday, June 3 at 9/8c on Bravo. Below Deck Sailing Yacht is currently on hiatus on Bravo.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht's Daisy Kelliher Debuts Drastic Change To Her Appearance

Sister wives: "born to run" - meri, janelle & christine's american adventures after weight loss journeys, 90 day fiancé's jasmine pineda reveals shocking update about gino's whereabouts amid split rumors.

  • Madison Stalker has continued her career in the yachting industry since her time on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 1.
  • She was romantically connected to Rob Westergaard from Below Deck Mediterranean, but they broke up and she has moved on.
  • Madison is in a committed relationship with her boyfriend, Greg Liuzzo, and they have been together for over a year.

Madison Stalker joined Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 1, its premiere season, but kept a low profile. Madison was the second stew who worked under chief stew Jenna Macgillivray. Despite Madison trying to stay positive throughout the season, she and Jenna could never get along. Madison found Jenna was too wrapped up in her relationship with Chef Adam Glick during BDSY season 1 to try to maintain a close, professional relationship.

During the reunion, Madison confronted her boss about how she treated her poorly throughout the season. There were several times when the second stew felt excluded by Jenna and that she made her life miserable during the season. Ultimately, they decided to bury the hatchet and leave the drama behind them. They both realized they could never see eye to eye and decided to move on with their lives. What has Madison been up to since?

Madison Still Works In The Yachting Industry

Since the Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 1 reunion, the former reality star has continued her career in the yachting industry. While on various Mediterranean charters, Madison spent much more time working in the USA. Most recently, she docked in Charleston, South Carolina. Previously, she worked on charters going to Lisbon, Portugal; and was spotted in Italy with her boyfriend, Greg Liuzzo, with whom she has been in a relationship for over a year.

Madison Was Romantically Connected To Rob Westergaard

Before Greg, Madison was rumored to be dating Below Deck Mediterranean's Rob Westergaard after her season was done. Madison revealed to the team @bravoconfessionals that she and Rob began between April and May 2020 (via Showbiz Cheat Sheet ). The couple hit it off, and Madison even introduced him to her " West Palm Beach friend ." Rob even met her father, who had only met one other man in her life at the time. After she visited him, Rob told her the relationship was too much and decided to break it off. Madison was heartbroken but has moved on from the split.

Since her time on Below Deck Sailing Yacht has ended, Madison is still working in the industry. It was a career path she enjoyed before and will continue to work towards. She also has a committed boyfriend with whom she seems very happy. As for appearing in a future season, there is always a possibility.

Everything That’s Leaked About Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5

By Amy DeVore

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4 Reunion Recap

The Below Deck franchise on Bravo has launched many successful spin-offs since it’s inception in 2013. One of these spin-offs is Below Deck Sailing Yacht , which has just finished airing Season 4 . In this series, Captain Glenn Shephard faithfully leads his crew each season onboard the Parsifal III sailing yacht. Since Season 2, Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher , First Officer Gary King , and Chief Engineer Colin MacRae have joined Captain Glenn for filming.

These three yachties have now become the faces of Below Deck Sailing Yacht. Their tightly-knit friendship and playful banter have always made for great television. However, Season 4 was rough on this faithful trio. During the Season 4 reunion, it became clear that some of these friendships were fractured beyond repair.

Here’s a quick recap to help break this down: Daisy and Gary’s long-standing flirtation came to a head. This was due to Gary’s “casual” leaking of his and Daisy’s physical encounter(s) in between Seasons 3 and 4. This news came as a shock to Colin, as he and Daisy were entering into a boatmance when this revelation struck.

During the reunion, a since broken-up Daisy and Colin threw stones at each other, each blaming a lack of trust as the cause. The two are no longer close. Gary is still friends with both of his coworkers, however.

Currently, Below Deck fans have their eyes open wide for signs of Season 5’s filming. Images of a crew alongside the Parsifal III have been taken (and shared). Other fans have undergone deep dives on social media to unearth possible new cast members. With that in mind, here is everything that’s been leaked about Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5.

The Filming Location

Spotted in Ibiza by u/Take_Me_To_Ibiza in belowdeck

Last month, a fan caught sight of the Parsifal III docked in Ibiza. Images of this infamous vessel were immediately shared over on the Below Deck subreddit . A film crew can even be seen onboard capturing footage. Shortly after this was shared, another fan on a cruise in Ibiza spotted the Parsifal III with a group of charter guests off of the coast of an Ibizan village.

With these two sightings in mind, the Balearic Islands are likely Season 5’s location.

Only Two Returning Cast Members Have Been Spotted

Spotted filming in Ibiza! by u/Successful-Will-95 in belowdeck

While we can safely assume that Captain Glenn will return for Season 5, the other cast members have held a large question mark post Season 4’s drama. That said, several days after the Parsifal III’s spotting, fans caught sight of a new cast eating dinner in an Ibizan town, Dalt Vila. Within the image, Gary and Daisy are clearly seen. Colin is noticeably absent.

If there are any Colin stans reading this, hopeful that Colin is just resting onboard and not at this dinner, I have bad news. Online, Colin is sharing videos on his YouTube Channel, Parlay Revival . These videos show that Colin is currently sailing across the Pacific Ocean on his Catamaran. As the Balearic Islands are connected to the Atlantic Ocean, Colin’s return for Season 5 is unlikely.

Regarding the other Season 4 cast mates, the images making the rounds do not feature any of their faces. However, Deckhand Alex Propson actually announced during the reunion that he will be appearing on another hit Bravo show. Alex is joining the cast of Winter House Season 3.

Based on the leaked images, it appears that Daisy and Gary will be the only returning faces from Season 4. The fans detectives within the same subreddit, however, have unearthed two of the possible new crew’s identities, alleging that one of the blondes appears to be Danni Warren . Side note, Danni’s Instagram recently followed Gary.

NO, Danni, RUN.

Danni also follows Chef Cloyce Martin , whose recent joins are people currently located in Ibiza. If Chef Cloyce is indeed appearing in Season 5, he will have big shoes to fill from the Season 4 Chef, Ileisha Dell . To note, while these 2 new crew members are not verified, their likeness does resemble those within the leaked image.

A Housewife Will Charter The Parsifal III

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Tiffany Moon, MD (@tiffanymoonmd)

Real Housewives of Dallas star Tiffany Moon has posted images of herself onboard the Parsifal III in Ibiza in recent weeks. In her many shared posts of gourmet food, beachy tablescapes, and stunning sunsets, fans are weighing in to ask if she was indeed there for filming. While Tiffany is not responding to these specific inquiries, her timeline of posting coincides with that of the current filming schedule taking place. Therefore, it stands to reason that Tiffany will likely make an appearance in Season 5.

Season 5’s Premiere Date – An Educated Guess

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Below Deck (@belowdeckbravo)

Fans of this series will likely be waiting awhile for Captain Glenn’s latest adventures to broadcast. If keeping to its typical schedule, Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 will begin to air sometime around February – April of 2024.

That’s a long time to wait for answers, but wait we will.
