Because friends are membersI've eaten here often over the years. (I wish they would bring back the fresh shucked oysters). Great views and staff. When the weather is nice it's great to sit on the deck and have a meal. Dinner was great we had the calamari Ahi tuna Napoleon - absolutely amazing. Roasted salmon. With rice and broccoli Shrimp Alfredo

What a special and amazing place! Friendly and courteous staff filled with total pros. The Head Chef who serves as club GM presents an array of delicious dishes. I was served the best Mussels I've had this side of Belgium. Poke bowl is a great choice too. Casual and comfortable atmosphere. Can't wait for the warm weather and the outdoor patio. Many thanks to the members who share this wonderful spot in Stamford with their guests.

No lie - when the reviews say this is a "undiscovered gem" or similar I am definitely going to agree. It's actually a bit strange - you have to buzz the door to get in. I was nervous / curious as to what was going to be on the other side... and there it is - a great restaurant. Non-members have to sign in, but that is the only formality - otherwise it's just a nice restaurant. By far the best physical feature is the outdoor patio - but it can get hot. Indoors is just as nice. Not high end, but really good food, nice people, good service, relaxed vibe. Definitely will be returning.

Had a great time here was invited by a friend because you need to be a member. I had the corn beef balboa with homemade Chip. We also had two appetizers one was plain chicken wings which you can dip into the sauce they gave you I didn't dip and they were good. Also had breaded shrimp with large french fries was really good. Sitting there on the water watching the sunset was wonderful.

This is a great spot for lunch or dinner. Relaxed vibe. Great service good prices. No frills. I had a lobster roll that was so H U G E and well cooked. The outside deck is awesome . Only suggestion is larger umbrellas. It can get hot out there

Are you kidding me?! Why is this place not packed? Food is fresh and tasty and it's easy to get to. Do yourself a favor if you're in Harbor Point and thank me later!

Hidden gem. Beautiful views of the harbor, lots of parking and great prices! Wine is about $6 a glass and the chicken wings are very good for about $8. Can't get any closer to the water than the outdoor deck. Inside is a bit dingey but you go there for the sun! Service isn't really service but who cares - I don't go out to eat for service!

The best hidden secret in Stamford. What an experience. Beautiful sunset on the water, amazing food. The new chef completely changes the whole experience. We did not have any leftovers and made room for dessert. My favorite meal is the honey salmon.

For the past 100 years, Ponus Yacht Club has been a staple in the Stamford Harbor since it was founded in 1911. The Rippowam River flows into the Long Island Sound and on the eastern bank of this inlet is the Ponus Yacht Club.

Nearby is Kosciuszko Park, a 7-acre park located on the waterfront that features hiking trails, playgrounds and baseball fields. Stamford Harbor has been a popular boating location since the 1640s due to its proximity to New York. Downtown Stamford through the years has grown tremendously offering popular entertainment opportunities such as live theater, television studios, movie theaters, parks, and top-rated restaurants.

Directions:   The Ponus Yacht club can be reached via driving or mass transit.   Driving: Take I-95 to Exit 7. If you are coming from the South make a right onto Washington Blvd. If you are coming from the North then make a left onto Washington Blvd. Continue on to Dyke Lane. Make a right onto Bateman Way. About 400 feet ahead is the parking lot for the Yacht club.   Mass Transit: From Grand Central Station take the Metro North Railroad New Haven Line towards New Haven. Take it two exists and get off at Stamford. From here it’s about a 15-minute walk. From the station head south on Washington Blvd toward Station Pl. Turn right onto Harbor Point Road. Turn left to stay on Harbor Point Road. Turn right onto Pacific St. The port on will be on the left.

South End Boat Fire Quickly Controlled by Stamford Fire Fighters

Stamford, CT – At 6:17 pm the Stamford 911 center received multiple calls reporting a boat on fire in the parking lot at 41 Bateman Way, the Ponus Yacht Club.

First arriving fire units from the South End fire station found an approximately 24-foot boat on a trailer well involved in fire. The fire was exposing an adjacent boat, winterized with shrink wrap, parked in close proximity.

Two hose lines were stretched, one with fire suppressing foam, which quickly brought the fire under control.

The 1991 Grady-White boat was heavily damaged by the fire, but there were no injuries to civilians or fire personnel. Stamford’s waterways were unaffected by the fire.

A first alarm assignment of 26 fire personnel responded to control the incident. The Stamford fire boat was dispatched, but cancelled once the fire was determined to be on land.

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was notified as well as the Stamford Harbor Master.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Stamford Fire Marshal’s Office.
