company History

At the French shipyard Couach has a rich history. The firm albert, Kuasha start your journey with c the manufacture of ship engines in the late 19th century. Production is located on the Atlantic coast France , Arcachon Bay under Bordeaux . After World war II, when at the helm of the company rose grandson albert, Gai , the shipyard quickly enough recovered and began to produce significant volumes of motor boats. The company took orders both on the civil and, to a greater extent on warships. Excellent reputation in the environment of the Navy was allowed to expand the portfolio of contracts and to win new markets. The yacht Builder began to engage in 60 , making the choice in favor of the newest composite materials. Buying in 2005 the shipyard in Saint-Mandria gave the opportunity Couach to expand the size range of its yachts up to 33 feet away and acquire a technical Foundation in Mediterranean . The company continued to develop increasingly large projects, and they have had success in the market. When in 2009, the shipyard was renamed to Chantier Naval Couach (CNC), the company's management clearly stated priority in its development — a segment of the super - and megayachts. In addition, the company is known as a manufacturer of patrol, rescue and other special courts of the composite, merged under the name PlascoaCouach.

Guy Couach is a French shipyard and yacht building company which designs and builds performance luxury motor yachts. Guy Couach the leading French builder of high technology motor yachts which feature refined styling and design functionality. The Guy Couach shipyard builds fast cruisers and superyachts, so far up to 36 meters in length.

The Couach motor yacht range is made up of around twenty models. They are divided into 3 main categories: fly-bridge yachts, open style, and traditional style yachts. Some yachts produced to date include: 2200 fly 74, 2600 fly 88', 3000 fly 100’, 3300 fly 112', 3700 fly 120', 5000 fly 160', 2100 open 72' and the 2800 open 95'.

Couach yachts are custom and each is developed in conjunction with the client owner’s individual specifications and tastes. The yachts are essentially exclusively manufactured to order. Other models and types can be developed on special request. Being flexible to make yachts to order is part of the essence of the company’s philosophy.

Four generations of the Couach family since 1897 have put research into marine engines, composite materials, hull design, rational and elegant interior design. Couach yachts has turned a family tradition into a philosophy of pleasure boating.

Presented by DMA Yachting, the impressive charter yacht DRAGON is a 121 ft motor yacht featuring a jetski and a hot tub. DRAGON spends the summer and winter season in Greece. She was completed by the famous yacht builder Guy Couach in 2010. An elegant refit was finalized in 2014. The ingenious yacht layout features 6 large cabins and easily accommodates a group of 12 guests.

DRAGON is classified as a superyacht. The generously sized aft deck elegantly connects to the well-equipped and inviting main saloon. The main saloon is a gathering space with an abundance of seating areas and boasts a number of entertainment options. 6 elegant cabins are laid out for maximum privacy and comfort.

Nick Kalimeris – Captain Greek - Speaks English, Greek Captain Nick was born and lives in Athens. He has over 20 years of experience in the marine industry from passenger ships to motor yachts. He joined the yachting industry in 2007 and has extensively cruised the Eastern and Western Mediterranean. Nick graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy of Aspropyrgos and with all the required marine licenses and certifications under his belt, has certainly made the most of his career at sea. He brings a disciplined approach to each and every task. As the captain, he takes great pride in creating tailor-made experiences for each charter. His love for travelling provides Nick with the passion to research and organise all kinds of activities for the enhancement of the experience onboard. Captain Nick has assembled an experienced and efficient team that is now working alongside him and will take every effort in ensuring your charter runs smoothly and efficiently to always guarantee the perfect trip! George Geranios - Chief Engineer Greek - Speaks English, Greek George lives in Athens. He graduated as an engineer from the Merchant Marine Academy of Aspropyrgos. George has 29 years of experience in the marine industry ranging from unlimited tonnage tankers to passenger ships and he has all required marine licenses and certifications. He first joined the yachting industry in 2009. He brings a great deal of experience and knowledge to ensure the smooth operation of the yacht and her services. He has completed all the required safety training and is available 24 hours a day to deal with engineering issues. Yannis Linas – Chef Greek - Speaks English, Greek Yannis was born in Athens in 1984 . He has 23 years of experience as a chef and is a member of the “World Chef's Association.” He is a judge at chef competitions and a culinary professor as well as having received the gold medal of honour at the Greek Taste Beyond Borders 2023. During his long career he has prepared gourmet meals for very important guests in hotels, villas and mega yachts. He is very passionate with his work and loves to cook Mediterranean, Asian , French , Italian and Mexican recipes as well as deserts and birthday cakes. He has certificates for HACCP ISO 22000 as well as having attended seminars on Mediterranean and Chinese cuisine. Eva Boyiatzi - Chief Stewardess Greek - Speaks English, Greek Eva was born in Piraeus (the main port in Greece) in 1978. She has 8 years of experience in the yachting industry. Throughout that time period, she has enjoyed travelling to various parts of the world accruing sea miles and an abundance of experience in hospitality and service. Eva has extensive experience on charter vessels from 37 to 50 meters. She is a very dedicated and efficient chief stewardess and has a professional and warm manner with all her guests. Eva has silver service skills as well as holding a G.U.E.S.T 1 Diploma which includes silver service, wine bartending, and mixology courses. In addition, Eva has a power boat license and a Chief Stewardess license. She has a creative and elegant style when it comes to table decoration and event planning for the guests. Eva enjoys challenges and takes great pride in providing excellent service to all guests onboard! Eleftheria Rouboulakou – 2nd Stewardess Greek - Speaks English, Italian, Greek Eleftheria brings a wealth of hospitality expertise to the yachting world, having honed her communication skills and the ability working under pressure as a hostess in a luxury resort catering to HNWI. In 2020, she took the plunge into the yachting industry, starting as a solo stewardess on a 36m motor yacht, where she not only embraced the challenges of serving esteemed clientele but also cultivated a client-centric mindset, improving her multitasking abilities and keen attention to detail. Determined to continually enhance her skills, Eleftheria made a significant career move to a 45m motor yacht, demonstrating her commitment to delivering unparalleled guest experiences. As a forward-thinking professional, she actively participates in workshops to expand her knowledge and has attended seminars such as "Silver Service," "Synchronized Service," "Themed Dinners," "Food Handling Rules," and "Wine Presentation." Eleftheria's creativity shines through in her passion for crafting flower arrangements, innovative table settings, and organizing themed dinners tailored to guests' preferences. Andrei is hard-working and extremely polite. Angelo Rika - Deckhand Albanian - Speaks Albanian , English , Greek Angelo was born in Albania and lives in Athens. He studied Tourism Administration and has a Diploma in F&B Management and Chef D’ouvre. He has worked in many positions in the hospitality sector and joined the yachting industry in 2018! He holds a Sailor and Powerboat License and is a great asset to the team. Angelo is willing and has a strong team spirit. Evangelos Dimopoulos - Deckand Greek - Speaks English, Greek Evangelos is a dynamic and goal-driven professional, adept at seamlessly managing multiple tasks with an unwavering positive attitude. He has 23 years of experience as a chef and is a member of the “World Chef's Association.” He is a judge at chef competitions and a culinary professor as well as having received the gold medal of honour at the Greek Taste Beyond Borders 2023. During his long career he has prepared gourmet meals for very important guests in hotels, villas and mega yachts. He is very passionate with his work and loves to cook Mediterranean, Asian , French , Italian and Mexican recipes as well as deserts and birthday cakes. He has certificates for HACCP ISO 22000 as well as having attended seminars on Mediterranean and Chinese cuisine.<br /> <br /> Eva Boyiatzi - Chief Stewardess <br /> Greek - Speaks English, Greek<br /> <br /> Eva was born in Piraeus (the main port in Greece) in 1978. She has 8 years of experience in the yachting industry. Throughout that time period, she has enjoyed travelling to various parts of the world accruing sea miles and an abundance of experience in hospitality and service. Eva has extensive experience on charter vessels from 37 to 50 meters. She is a very dedicated and efficient chief stewardess and has a professional and warm manner with all her guests. Eva has silver service skills as well as holding a G.U.E.S.T 1 Diploma which includes silver service, wine bartending, and mixology courses. In addition, Eva has a power boat license and a Chief Stewardess license. She has a creative and elegant style when it comes to table decoration and event planning for the guests. Determined to continually enhance her skills, Eleftheria made a significant career move to a 45m motor yacht, demonstrating her commitment to delivering unparalleled guest experiences. George has 29 years of experience in the marine industry ranging from unlimited tonnage tankers to passenger ships and he has all required marine licenses and certifications. He first joined the yachting industry in 2009. He brings a great deal of experience and knowledge to ensure the smooth operation of the yacht and her services. He has completed all the required safety training and is available 24 hours a day to deal with engineering issues.<br /> <br /> Yannis Linas – Chef<br /> Greek - Speaks English, Greek<br /> <br /> Yannis was born in Athens in 1984 . He has 23 years of experience as a chef and is a member of the “World Chef's Association.” He is a judge at chef competitions and a culinary professor as well as having received the gold medal of honour at the Greek Taste Beyond Borders 2023. During his long career he has prepared gourmet meals for very important guests in hotels, villas and mega yachts. He is very passionate with his work and loves to cook Mediterranean, Asian , French , Italian and Mexican recipes as well as deserts and birthday cakes. He has certificates for HACCP ISO 22000 as well as having attended seminars on Mediterranean and Chinese cuisine.<br /> <br /> Eva Boyiatzi - Chief Stewardess <br /> Greek - Speaks English, Greek<br /> <br /> Eva was born in Piraeus (the main port in Greece) in 1978. She has 8 years of experience in the yachting industry. Throughout that time period, she has enjoyed travelling to various parts of the world accruing sea miles and an abundance of experience in hospitality and service. Eva has extensive experience on charter vessels from 37 to 50 meters. She is a very dedicated and efficient chief stewardess and has a professional and warm manner with all her guests. Eva has silver service skills as well as holding a G.U.E.S.T 1 Diploma which includes silver service, wine bartending, and mixology courses. In addition, Eva has a power boat license and a Chief Stewardess license. She has a creative and elegant style when it comes to table decoration and event planning for the guests. He has extensively cruised the Eastern and Western Mediterranean as well as the North Atlantic. Michael was the surveying captain of Dragon while she was being built. He paid specialized attention to all details in order to have the yacht finished to the highest standards possible. His early years were spent studying and practicing in the Naval Academy as an Officer and Michael graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy of Aspropyrgos. He offers an enthusiasm that blends well with the positive attitude of the entire crew. As the Captain, he takes great pride in creating tailor-made yacht cruise experiences for each charter. He works closely with his guests to ensure that all of their needs and wants are met. His love for travelling provides Michael with the passion to research and organize all kinds of activities for the<br /> enhancement of the onboard experience. Michael is a certified water ski/wakeboard, Flyboard and Diving instructor. <br /> <br /> <br /> Nick Kalimeris – Chief Officer<br /> Greek • Age: 37 • Speaks English<br /> <br /> Similarly to the Captain, Nick graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy of Aspropyrgos. With all required marine licences and certifications under his belt, he has certainly made the most of his career at sea. Nick first joined the yachting industry back in 2007, after serving many years on passenger ships. Nick brings a disciplined approach to each and every task. Whether he is on watch navigating the Dragon, or transporting guests on the tender, clients can feel confident and safe in the knowledge that they are in the most capable hands. He aims to provide an enjoyable and friendly time on board M/Y Dragon. It is his third year working with Captain Michael.<br /> <br /> Christos Diamantis – Chief Engineer<br /> Greek • Age: 41 • Speaks English<br /> <br /> Christos grew up in Perama (the main location of the shipping industry in Greece). He graduated as an officer from the Merchant Marine Academy of Crete. Christos has been in the yachting industry for over 15 years and brings a great deal of experience and knowledge to ensure the smooth operation of the yacht and her services. Even through Christos is available 24 hours a day to deal with engineering issues, he is also always willing to assist with deck activities and water sports and will even prepare<br /> an unforgettable cocktail for you. Christos has completed all safety training; he is a rescue diver and a PADI diving master. It is Christos’ sixteenth year working with Captain Michael.<br /> <br /> Rene Honrada – Chef<br /> Filipino • Age: 52 • Speaks English<br /> <br /> Rene was born in the Philippines where he attended Culinary Schooling. His passion for food has taken him around the world cooking for fine dining restaurants, hotels, private residences and then many yachts. Rene has been the winner of the International Yacht Chef cooking competitions five times over. He has a flair for Asian cuisine but since he has been living in Greece for twenty two years, he looked to develop his skills in the Mediterranean gourmet cooking and can now give any Greek chef a run for their money. Rene always aims to please and goes above and beyond in order for Dragon guests to have the most enjoyable culinary experience whilst onboard.<br /> It is Rene’s third year working with Captain Michael.<br /> <br /> Eva Boyiatzi – Chief Stewardess<br /> Greek • Age: 41 • Speaks English<br /> <br /> Eva joined the Dragon after having worked as a chief stewardess on private and charter yachts for several years. Throughout that time period she enjoyed travelling to various parts of the world accruing sea miles and an abundance of experience in hospitality and service. She is a hard working organizer, enjoys challenges and takes pride in providing excellent service to those onboard. It is her first year working with Captain Michael.<br /> <br /> Evelyn Sophie Rich – Stewardess<br /> English • Age: 26 • Speaks English and Greek<br /> <br /> Evelyn started working in luxury charter yachts due to her love for the sea and the hospitality industry, which combine both. Evelyn is attentive at all times with a willing and helpful manner that is characteristic of the Dragon crew members. She is always approachable and cheerful and aims to elevate the client experience. Evelyn has completed all safety training and is her second year working with Captain Michael.<br /> <br /> Gerardo Gil Piol – Deckhand<br /> Filipino • Age: 38 • Speaks English and Greek<br /> <br /> This is Gil’s fourteenth year in the luxury yachting industry. He has a strong background in unlimited tonnage commercial ships as a deck hand and as a boatswain.<br /> He is an able seaman with high sense of responsibility and awareness and will be there to assist wherever needed. He has successfully graduated from the Marine school of Batangas as a seaman and completed all safety training. It is his fourteenth year working with Captain Michael.<br /> <br /> Andreas Sarantopoulos – Deckhand<br /> Greek • Age: 41 • Speaks English<br /> <br /> Andreas attended the public sector’s Nautical Academy for ship officers. He joined Dragon after working on an array of charter yachts as a skipper but also as the engine room supervisor. An interesting fact about him is that he has attended the Gemological Institute of America (G.I.A) and so is an expert in gemstones, should you need any advise! He is a hard working member of our team and will always be there to assist with a big smile on his face. He has completed all safety training. Most expenses are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), a fund that is added on top of the charter price. The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption). You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled).
