Regular Kos Departures

Kos is a big island (the third largest in Greece) with many things to do and see. Sailing around Kos is a perfect way to spend at least one day of your Greek island holiday in a way you will never forget! Depart from Kos Marina, sail to a remote beach or bay where you can swim or snorkel and explore the island and then have a restaurant prepared lunch on board or go to a local island taverna. Our day cruises from Kos island typically include cruising secluded coves and beaches along the Kos coast and a visit to the nearby island of Pserimos.

Our day trips usually start and finish from Kos Marina, leaving at 9am and returning at 6pm. Our regular excursions include your own private boat with Captain, all fuel and taxes, coffee, soft drinks and snacks.

#3. The picturesque island of Poros

This is dedicated to the smaller, picturesque island of Poros, with tips on where to moor, where to swim, where to eat, etc.

Only 450 meters separate Poros Island from the Saronic Gulf, it is primarily renowned as a weekend getaway for Athenians. The ancient Holy Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi and the sixth-century BC Temple of Poseidon are two quick stops on Poros Island.

At the southeasternmost end of the Aegean, sailing in the Dodecanese is perhaps the road less travelled, excepting of course tourist stalwart Rhodes. Quite a long way from Attica’s marinas, perhaps the most time-efficient option is to sail off Rhodes and roam the archipelago, visit Kos and the smaller, hidden gems such as Leipsoi and Tilos.

The name “Dodecanese” may translate as “12 Islands” but there are more than 25, all within a day’s sailing from each other.

Perhaps the most “urban” sailing destination, since it features quite a few large islands with year-long active towns. Reachable from Kavala (Thassos island), Alexandroupoli (Samothraki island), Thessaloniki, or Chalkidiki, the biggest islands are Lesvos and Chios, both brimming with picturesque coves and anchorages. The area is perhaps the most challenging sailing-wise since the north “Meltemi” winds can be persistent. Also, this is the cluster with the fewest and most far-between islands, so be prepared for 10-12 hour sailing between anchorages.
