Lil yatchty performed well. I loved how much water he threw in the crowed and the energy. The only problem was the crowed too squished together in the front so it was uncomfortable. If the people in the back took a couple steps back tho the problem would have been solved. But the show was worth the money and very enjoyable.

The sremm life tour was my first concert. And it was extremely good!!! I had so much fun. Lil yachty and burberry were spraying water on everyone and he told us to make a mosh pit, he has alot of energy to really hype the crowd up. If your thinking about seeing lil yachty I recommend you go!

Aliyah267’s profile image

Lil Yachty was a massive let down. After waiting for him to come out it was hard to listen to his voice that he claims he lost. He sounded nothing less than horrible and the crowd had more energy from the DJ than they did for the person they came to see. 2/10

Lil yachty and everyone on the stage had a good connection with the audience and their perforemance were dope as hell. I enjoyed the show alot, it was really fun. Looking forward to yachtys next concert here in Stockholm, Sweden.

One of the best shows I have seen. He was so full of life, fun to watch, funny and made it a memorable night. The lights, dancing and song choice was spot on. I hope he comes to Baltimore again so I can go back. LIL BOAT!

This is my second time seeing him and yet again Amazing stage presence, full of energy, really got the crowd going and we was given a massive surprise with an appearance and short performance from Asap Rocky and Tyga!

taschan-nelson-thoma’s profile image

The concert was wild especially in NYC perfect Venue. A lot of mosh pits coming from a lil yachty concert. During his performance he brings out A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg, very unexpected.

janice-matute’s profile image

Him and Burberry Perry have mad stage presence and know how to get the crowd hyped. The only downside of the show is that he flicks water hard into your eyes though so bring goggles.

Yachty was so good live. The energy was amazing, and you can tell he loves the fans. He took a while to come out but if you love concerts and go with your friends, it's worth it.

Lil Yachty James Blake Bad Cameo

Rap / Pop/R&B

Quality Control / Motown / Republic

July 1, 2024

When James Blake and Lil Yachty debuted as divisive wunderkinds, they earned feverish acclaim—and controversy—for the way they blurred the lines etched by their predecessors. Blake stormed dubstep’s dancefloor and rendered it a dusty confessional booth; Yachty looked at the hip-hop landscape he inherited, cursed its gods , and spent the beginning of his career at war with a generation. Not everything has changed: They’re still divisive, and they’re still doggedly trying new things. But they aren’t upstarts anymore; nor are their disruptive ideas breaking boundaries so much as reinforcing them. (So long, saxophones , and so long, rap .) A pair that once embodied youthful iconoclasm now often seem to see only as far as their next grievance. More and more, they sound like the gatekeepers who didn’t believe in them years ago.

Thus the defensive crossover spectacle of Bad Cameo , their new joint album. Few things announce themselves louder than a tag-team LP by a polarizing producer and an equally polarizing rapper-turned-rocker. But instead of provoking, this record largely takes the low-key road, like a terse postscript to a more transgressive past. It’s dreamy and occasionally danceable, steely electronica rubbing shoulders with a sharp, stadium-ready take on Yachty’s sing-rap sensibilities. The shoulder-rubbing is promising, but at a certain point, when the friction hasn’t progressed any further, the party starts to feel like a corporate lunch: Hey Post-Dubstep, have you met Post-Trap? I’ll leave you two alone to hit it off! Sometimes, they do. More often, Blake and Yachty are cozy in their respective corners, taking turns in the spotlight rather than sharing it. You get the sense that they’re trying to rekindle old magic—the wonders Blake worked with his glitchy soul-searching, the weightlessness Yachty proffered with his pitch-shifted lilts. These elements sound nice next to one another. They’d sound even better if they did more than just coexist.

When Yachty released “ Poland ,” his unlikely 2022 hit single, part of the draw was his quivering, liquid delivery: “It is a really fucking weird song,” Blake told him in a recent sit-down, revealing that it brought him to tears. He’s right to identify the weirdness as jolting—at least enough to channel raw emotion, or inspire it in others. But when they try to accomplish this on Bad Cameo , they sound maddeningly riskless. The title track registers like an attempt to run “Poland” through Blake’s chilly alt-pop processing and produce something equally apt for dorm rooms and sound baths. There’s a repeatable mantra, minimal frills that foreground the vocals, and an air of confession—only now, instead of spiking one another’s worlds, the crossover dilutes their respective strengths. “Did you ever love me?” Yachty begs, in full “Poland” voice, with Blake echoing his prayer in the background. You might recall a similar plea on the 2022 song (“Hope you love me, baby, I hope you mean it”). Where “Poland” producer F1lthy supplied Yachty with a jumpy, trap-infused hotbed, Blake’s canvas is restrictive, limiting the singer to a cramped crying closet both have outgrown. Solemn as it sounds, it’s hard to take very seriously.

Part of Bad Cameo ’s appeal is the promise of a novel palette: lean meeting lemon tea, hip-hop meeting post-dubstep, confessionalism meeting vanity. Sometimes, as on “Twice,” this works beautifully—a staggered four-on-the-floor beat might morph into something airier, a haggard Yachty and wistful Blake taking turns reveling in their respective terrains. Other times, in moments where you’d expect the contrast to unearth rich new flavors, there’s a dulling effect. “Save the Savior,” a crunchy ballad that sounds a bit like a screen-adapted Future therapy session, would absolutely crush in a ritzy, white-walled gallery. Play it a second time, this time with the pair’s capabilities in mind, and it starts feeling like it should go beyond those insular limits. Blake is coming off his most energetic and danceable record to date; Yachty is freshly removed from a risky, compelling—if controversial— psych-rock dispatch . Considering the boundary-breaking instincts each contributor brings to the table, Bad Cameo feels too safe, too familiar, to tell us anything we don’t already know.

The bulk of Bad Cameo ’s novelty arrives, instead, in songcraft. To Blake’s credit, he’s a master of seeing tracks as living things, subject to as much growth and meandering as the masterminds who make them. Familiar as they may feel, the most striking songs on this project keep some powder dry, sprawling into realms far beyond their starting places. Midway through “Midnight,” when Yachty and Blake’s harmonized refrain gives way to a beat switch and the drums fall out from beneath their voices, it sounds like they’re prostrate before something powerful. “Woo” begins with an echoey grand piano over a trap beat, no new addition to the annals of introspective hip-hop. But by the chorus, it seems like it’s all falling apart: The drum pattern sputters, and a sly ghost chord gradually infiltrates Blake’s somber progression, culminating in a single jolt of dissonance. You wish there were more room for such uncompromising mischief.

James Blake Lil Yachty

As this album’s cover artwork suggests — it appears to show a restaurant table with one man drinking tea and eating baked beans, and the other drinking syrup — a full-length collaboration album between British avant singer-songwriter James Blake and psychedelicized Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty might not have been on anyone’s prediction list for 2024. But even knowing both artists’ predilection for the unexpected, it’s a surprisingly symbiotic alliance.

Popular on variety.

The vocals are often heavily dosed with effects, which makes the lyrics hard to understand, although some ear-grabbing Yachty verses float past like “I told my agent I wanna be treated just like a slut” and “I rock more [something] Rolexes than John Mayer” (“Save the Saviors”) and “My dog’s hooked on ‘phetamines” (from “Woo,” which is basically the hardest-hitting track here).

Whether this will be an ongoing partnership or ships passing in the night remains to be seen, but despite its expectation-lowering title, “Bad Cameo” is a strong addition to both artists’ discographies.

Mitch disagreed and said you can give them different advice.” However, Yachty then replied, “Like what? You ain’t never had a job. What you gonna tell a n—a to get a job?” The Atlanta rapper then brought up what Mitch would be doing with his life if Yachty wasn’t around and all Key Glock could do was sit there in silence.

Naturally, Rap Twitter had a field day with said clip and criticized Yachty for being a bad friend. Boat addressed the viral clip during his IG Live session and stated he started the podcast to help his friend and said he was going to end it because Mitch wouldn’t defend him on social media. “I aint want to do no motherf—king podcast, n—a, I’m a f—king rapper.”

Mitch then took to X to clear the air, suggesting him and Yachty joke around and are often brutally honest with each other.

As for Karrahbooo, a waitress at Red Lobster set fire to this whole night. X user @C_Staxxz claimed the former Concrete Boy member walked into the restaurant chain to buy some Cheddar Bay Biscuits said she was kicked out of the group after being asked why she left. The user also claimed Karrahbooo told her that “they were really mean to her and bullying her a lot.”

A fan who met KARRAHBOOO claims she said she was "kicked out" of Concrete Boys and bullied within the group pic.twitter.com/NDmuYN467Q — Kurrco (@Kurrco) August 22, 2024

He then claimed that he wrote all of her verses and styled her and the other members of the Concrete Boys. “I wrote every f—king verse you’ve done,” he said. “I dressed you. I dressed all five of y’all n—as, bro. I dressed five n—as every time we stepped out the house. I put an outfit on everybody. I put eight carat earrings in everybody ear. I put three chains on all y’all neck.”

Adding, “We bought a Cartier watch. I gave you that chrome Rolex, bro. You was waiting tables… What are we talking about, n—a? I changed your motherf—king life and you are here lying, talking about some, ‘We bully you’… That sh—t got me f—ked up, bro. You got me f—ked up, bro. You disrespectful, bro. You talk to people crazy. You tell people that they are nothing. You tell people you’re going to spit on them. You tell people they poor and you talk to my f—king label crazy. You claim I was stealing money from you. Stealing money from you how? You ain’t made no money.”

He continued, “This the problem with you new artists. Y’all get poppin’ online and then you become more popular than your actual music. You $900,000 in the whole and I got every f—king receipt.” Boat then brought up her viral On the Radar freestyle and said he was trying to make her pop off and it worked. “I slowed the beat down, I put 808s specifically on your verse so when it got to your part and the beat dropped, everyone would be like, ‘This girl is the craziest one.’”

Karrahbooo has yet to respond.

Lil Yachty is coming to Northeastern. Here’s everything you need to know about Springfest 2024

Springfest on the Boston campus will also feature former “Saturday Night Live” cast member Leslie Jones. In Oakland, the week will include activities and a spring carnival.

Northeastern University is preparing to kick off Springfest 2024, which features appearances from former “Saturday Night Live” cast member Leslie Jones and “Coffin” rapper Lil Yachty and a carnival in the student center.

“We’re very excited,” said Rosie Scott, a senior music industry major and vice president of events for the Council for University Programs. “We’ve been trying to book lineups that are tailored to a bunch of different audiences. We try to vary genre from year to year, but also through the week.”

Scott said there’s already been a lot of interest for both events and that the floor section of Matthews Arena is already sold out for the Lil Yachty show on March 30.

Here’s where to get your tickets for Lil Yachty, Leslie Jones, and more SpringFest happenings

Tickets for the show are currently on sale . Each Northeastern community member can purchase a ticket for themselves and a guest, according to the Council for University Programs, which is presenting the event.

Lil Yachty rose to fame in 2015 with “One Night,” a single from his debut EP. Since then, he’s released five studio albums, with the latest, “Let’s Start Here,” debuting in January 2023. He recently announced an upcoming album , “Bad Cameo,” that will be a collaboration with British singer-songwriter James Blake.

After his appearance at Northeastern, the Atlanta native will perform at Coachella in April before kicking off “The Field Trip Tour,” which will take him across Europe.

Undergraduate and graduate students can purchase tickets for $15. Tickets are also available to faculty and staff plus College of Professional Studies and School of Law students. Community members can also buy tickets, but they must be purchased with a Northeastern ticket. Graduates can get tickets through the Alumni Office.

The show will begin at 6:45 p.m. on March 30, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.

This year’s Springfest will also feature the first-ever Springfest Showcase. Jones, an Emmy-nominated comedian, will perform standup at Blackman Auditorium on March 26, followed by a performance and moderated Q&A with singer-songwriter mxmtoon.

“Our main goal is to make sure there’s as much as possible and that there’s something for everyone on campus,” Scott said.

Jones is best known for her work as a cast member and writer on “Saturday Night Live.” She got her start on the stand-up circuit before joining SNL from 2014 to 2019. Jones also starred in the 2016 “Ghostbusters” remake and “Coming 2 America,” the sequel to the 1998 Eddie Murphy film “Coming to America.”

Jones will perform with New York City-based comedian and actor Lenny Marcus, who has been collaborating with Jones and has performed on shows like “The Tonight Show” and “The Late Show.”

Mxmtoon is an Oakland native who got her start as a YouTuber known as Maia. She also streams on Twitch and has released two graphic novels.

The showcase will begin at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30. Tickets are free to students.

Other events on the Boston campus include the Cuplympics Stuff a Husky on March 24 (it’s already sold out), a show with Laganja Estranja in Curry Ballroom at 7:30 p.m. on March 25, and Cuplympics Carnival at the Curry Student Center at 6 p.m. on March 27.

Events on Northeastern’s Oakland campus

Karrahbooo Addresses Lil Yachty's Recent Ghostwriting Claims on Stage: ‘Who Ain't Write It’ (UPDATE)

This follows her response to him on Instagram.

Updated Aug. 25 1:08 p.m. ET: Karrahbooo and Lil Yachty are still going at it.

Lil Yachty posted "don't throw rocks and hide your hand" on his Instagram story, prompting Karrahbooo to respond and declare that she doesn't want any beef. It is unclear if this was in response to her performance in Chicago.

"i never threw rocks and u have my number u big grown b^itch leave me alone literally @lilyachty," she wrote.

"i never said nothing about shit and I still ain't said nothing about what's really going on i don't want no beef wit you industry people just move on wit ur life stop tryna bring me down when I stay out the way I'm done talking u got it yo character gone speak for itself," she added.

See the original story below.

Karrahbooo addressed Lil Yachty ’s claim of writing all of her songs onstage recently, suggesting that he didn’t write all of her songs.

The former Concrete Boy took aim at Lil Yachty while performing her personal track “Running Late” (a song that ironically features him in the video ) at Pepsi Dig In Day in Chicago. In the midst of the song, she shouted, “Who ain’t write it… who ain’t write it,” several times.

This is her first time addressing Lil Yachty on stage following responding to him on Instagram recently. “Put it on yo kid I ain’t write these songs miles -___-,” she wrote. “Stop da cap and leave me out ur internet shenanigans.”

The second part of her message involved her asking him to leave her alone.

“Stop bullying me big dawg I never said anything you letting random fans get in yo head man up,” she continued.

Just days before, Lil Yachty aired out his grievances with Karrahbooo in an explosive Instagram Live rant where he claimed to have written all her verses — and that she was a bad person.

"I wrote every fucking verse you've done,” he said angrily.

“You was waiting tables... What are we talking about n***a?,” he wrote. “I changed your mother fucking life and you are here lying, talking about some: 'We bully you'... That shit got me fucked up, bro,” he said. “You got me fucked up, bro. You disrespectful, bro. You talk to people crazy. You tell people that they are nothing. You tell people you're going to spit on them. You tell people they poor and you talk to my fucking label crazy.”

The whole situation started back in July when Lil Yachty told fans that he “split ways with Karrah as far as this Concrete shit.”

“I have nothing to say—nothing bad to say, nothing negative to say about Karrah,” he expressed. “I wish her the best in her career."

Lil Yachty and Karrahbooo’s Feud Escalates With Bullying Accusations

Lil Yachty and his former artist Karrahbooo 's feud escalates with bullying accusations.

Lil Yachty and Karrahbooo Continue Throwing Shots at Each Other

On Sunday (Aug. 25), Lil Yachty hopped on his Instagram Story to address Karrahbooo's claims about writing her own rhymes and being bullied on the rapper's Concrete Boys record label. Although Yachty didn't directly address the 27-year-old rhymer, his message suggested that he clapped back at her allegations.

"Don't throw rocks and hide your hands," Boat wrote on his IG Story post below.

After catching wind of the Atlanta rapper's message, Karrahbooo posted a lengthy statement on her Instagram Story about supporting others in times of need and alluded to Yachty picking on her.

"I'll never forget this feeling, this chapter of my life. I'll never be the same," Karrahbooo penned in her IG Story. "I'll never forget who was there for me. I done chopped people out/spent my last/slapped folks 4 ni**as. I ride every time naturally, but that's just how I am. Nobody owe me sh*t tbh I'm just taking a mental note. I can't even look at most people da same way. To know the truth and watch a grown man with 12 million followers overly lie on my name and publicly bully me for literally no reason at all while I silently been conquering all da sh*t ni**as been throwing me this whole time behind closed doors. I'll never ignore the signs again, and I will never stop, no matter how much they hate me."

In her next IG Story post, Karrahbooo responded to Yachty's aforementioned message, insisting that they could discuss their issues on the phone. She also stated that she just wanted to make peace with individuals in the music scene.

"I never threw rocks and u have my number you big grown b**ch. Leave me alone literally @lilyachty," she typed in her IG Story post. "I never said nothing about sh*t and I still ain't say nothing 'bout what's really going on. I don't want no beef wit you industry people. Just move on wit ur life. Stop tryna bring me down when I stay out the way. I'm done talking. You got it. Yo character gone speak for itself."

Why are lil yachty and karrahbooo beefing.

Things went south between Lil Yachty and Karrahbooo after a fan shared a post on social media and claimed that after bumping into Karrahbooo at a restaurant, the rapper told her she was kicked out of Concrete Boys and bullied during her time on the label . On Aug. 22, Lil Yachty went live on Instagram and denied Karrahbooo's bullying allegations . Boat said Karrahbooo was actually the one bullying others.

"Tell people how you talk to people," Yachty said in his heated video below. "How you tell my security guard, 'Oh, you homeless. You work for me. You're poor. We above you.' You talk to people like they nothing...Tell people how you verbally abuse people. How you said you gon' spit on me when you see me."

"I been letting you do this whole thing where you act like you a princess and you sweet," he continued. "Stop the front, bro. We have withheld your actions since the beginning of me giving you this career. What the f**k are we talking about, bro. You don't even do nothing. It's so crazy to me, bro. ’Cause I've given you a career, and from time to time, you just disrespect me.

Boat then mentioned that Karrahbooo has a $900,000 debt to his label. Afterward, the Quality Control rhymer leaked his reference track to Karrahbooo's 2023 On The Radar Freestyle , suggesting that she didn't pen the lyrics.

Karrahbooo Claps Back at Lil Yachty's Claims About Writing Her Lyrics

On Aug. 23, Karrahbooo went on her Instagram Story to clap back at Yachty by sharing three songs she claimed to write and highlighted their streaming counts.

"Running Late," boasted over 7 million streams, "Where Yo Daddy," garnered 3 million streams and the On the Radar Concrete Cypher freestyle hit nearly 3 million streams.

Karrahbooo captioned the image, "put it on yo kid i ain't these songs [M]iles[.] Stop da cap and leave me out ur internet shenanigans [tears of joy emoji]."

She continued: "Stop bullying me big dawg [tears of joy emoji] i never said nothing u letting random fans get in yo head man up."

During her performance at the Dig in Day Festival in Chicago on Aug. 24, Karrahbooo suggested that Yachty's ghostwriting claims were false.

"Who ain't write it, who ain't write it," she rapped during her performance in the video below.

Karrahbooo Claps Back at Lil Yachty After He Claims That She Doesn’t Write Her Own Rhymes

Lil Yachty Crashes Out On Karrahbooo & Mitch In Explosive IG Live Rant: Unpacking The Beef

Lil Yachty Visits Somewhere Nowhere NYC

Lil Yachty ’s Concrete Boys crew might not be as solid as he thought. That's especially the case after the rapper hopped on Instagram Live on Thursday night to air out his associates and signees. Despite pledging to stay off the internet for the remainder of the year, Yachty is still keeping tabs on social media narratives, whether or not they are true.

In the late hours of Thursday night, Lil Yachty went on a full-blown rant on Instagram Live where he aired out Karrahbooo for alleged comments she made about her split from Concrete Boys to a Red Lobster employee. Sounds crazy, right? Unfortunately, it didn’t end there as Yachty shifted his fury toward his best friend and A Safe Space co-host Mitch for not defending him against a random Twitter user claiming that the Atlanta rapper is a bad friend. A lot unravelled over a few hours so here’s everything you need to know about the beef so far.

Karrahbooo’s Departure From Concrete Boys

Before we delve into last night’s shenanigans, it’s important to highlight the beginning of this issue. In late July, fans speculated that Karrahbooo left the crew after fans found that she unfollowed her labelmates. Though it was initially rumors, the “Poland” star confirmed that she was, in fact, not a part of the collective anymore. “I'ma say this sh*t one time," Yachty said on Instagram Live. "We have split ways with Karrah as far as this Concrete sh*t. I have nothing to say. Nothing bad to say, nothing negative to say about Karrah. I wish her the best in her career. That's that. ... I don't have anything really bad to say or anything good to say. We just split, you know?”

Friction On The Timeline

It turns out that Yachty had plenty of negative things to say that were weighing on his chest. He just needed something minor to trigger the emotions that had been bottled up. The issues with Karrahbooo seemingly took a turn for the worse after an alleged Red Lobster employee claimed that Karrah pulled up to the restaurant when she was asked about leaving Concrete.

“Bro she walked in my job (red lobster) to order biscuits and I asked her why she left and she immediately corrected me and said I didn’t leave they kicked me out,” user @C_Staxxz wrote . “Saying they were really mean to her and bullying her a lot.” The user then added her own speculation to the mix, writing, “She seemed really hurt behind ts tbh like they really did her dirty and i believe its because her name was the biggest behind yachty if we being real I only started listening to him again because of her. They’re haters and i told her she’ll do just fine without them. F*ck em.” She also added a photo with Karrahbooo to corroborate that the rapper did pull up to Red Lobster.

Mind you, Karrahbooo herself didn’t mention anything on the Internet, and much of the tweet was primarily speculation. Plus, no one can really verify whether Karrah said these things. Ultimately, there’s clearly tension between the two, and neither particularly wanted to spill into the public eye.

The Mitch Situation Unfolds

Just a day before this tweet regarding Karrah emerged, A Safe Space released a new episode alongside Key Glock who witnessed Yachty violating his co-host , Mitch. In a clip that circulated across X/Twitter, Yachty took credit for Mitch’s success, going as far as claiming his co-host wouldn’t have anything going in life it weren’t for him. Glock kept mum throughout the segment. However, a fan clipped that part of the episode and wrote, “Lil Yachty disrespecting his friend in front of Key Glock.” At the time of writing, the clip gained 9.7M views while a repost of the clip siding with Mitch garnered 901K.

“Mitch. Lil Yachty is not your homie. There’s a time and place to have these conversations. Not on a podcast in front of millions of people to dissect and observe. This is lame as f*ck,” the tweet read. “Don’t do favors for people and then hold it over their head. That’s foul as f*ck.”

Lil Yachty Pulls Receipts On Karrahbooo

Yachty laid it all out during his Instagram Live last night, beginning with Karrahbooo, who he claimed was verbally abusive, entitled, and lacked any rap skills His explosive rant initially denied claims that she was bullied before pivoting over to her catalog of music, which he said he wrote entirely and even provided receipts. “I slowed the beat down, I put 808s specifically on your verse so when it got to your part and the beat dropped, everyone would be like, ‘this girl is the craziest one,” he said in reference to her debut freestyle on On The Radar . He later shared the reference track to back his claim.

“I wrote every f*cking verse you've done… I dressed you. I dressed all five of y'all n***as bro. I dressed five n***as every time we stepped out the house. I put an outfit on everybody. I put eight carats of earrings on everybody ear. I put three chains on all y'all neck,” he continued. “I changed your mother f*cking life and you are here lying, talking about some: 'We bully you'... That shit got me f*cked up, bro. You got me f*cked up, bro. You disrespectful, bro. You talk to people crazy. You tell people that they are nothing. You tell people you're going to spit on them. You tell people they poor and you talk to my f*cking label crazy. You claim I was stealing money.” He also alleged that she put Concrete $900K in the hole and he never recouped on his investment.

Mitch Catches Strays

Quite frankly, this aspect of the entire rant didn’t paint Yachty in the best light. Once again, the powers of social media broke Yachty completely as he bashed Mitch for failing to address random social media users criticizing him. In fact, Yachty’s emotions completely took control of him to the point where he decided to cancel their podcast abruptly. First, he explained that Mitch approached him to do a podcast, which Yachty obliged, in order to help his co-host and friend build a platform.

“I ain't want to do no motherf*cking podcast n***a, I'm a f*cking rapper... I put $400,000 in Mitch pocket,” he said. “I ain’t f*ckin’ with Mitch, bro. I been sleep all day, I wake up to this crazy sh*t. I say, ‘Mitch, how the f*ck you ain’t go on the internet and tell these folks that we playin’, bruh?’” According to Boat, Mitch downplayed the situation, allegedly claiming, “It’s Twitter, bruh. You know how they is.” Yachty then cussed out Mitch for not defending him on the Internet against strangers and subsequently decided to cancel the podcast. “All I do is help people, bruh. I don’t get nothing from none of this sh*t,” Yachty added.

Mitch Clears The Air

In a series of tweets, Mitch finally addressed the narrative surrounding his relationship with Boat. “please don’t let that clip misguide you it doesn’t represent me and yachty’s friendship at all we joke around pretty harsh sometimes too much fr sometimes but irl it’s nothing but respect and love i can’t even get on here and act like it’s not,” he said.

Later, he made it clear that he has always had his own thing going on, even before meeting Lil Yachty. “i ain’t nobody lil bro never been check my history i had stats before i met bro and got even more now, all i ever wanted to do was just focus on the music and being involved in the culture in a positive way i hope none of this hinders that,” he wrote.

Lil Yachty Clashes With Mitch’s Ex/Cousin?

Though it seemed like the dust had settled, a new party entered the chat: Mitch’s supposed ex, Camille. Sharing a voice note to social media, she slammed Yachty for his alleged treatment of Mitch over the years. “Like, I been telllin’ Mitch you’re a bogus ass n***a. I been sayin’ that sh*t ‘cause you are. You are a bogus ass n***a,” she said. Then, she threatened to pull out receipts backing up everything she said.

In response, Yachty quickly tweeted and deleted a voice note refuting her claims . While Camille claimed that Mitch took on a managerial role for Yachty and often had to be in meetings, Yachty said that his co-host had been lying to her the whole time. He went on to say that Mitch only used Camille for a place to stay before revealing that she was, in fact, the cousin that Mitch claimed to have slept with during an episode of A Safe Space podcast. She later fired back on Twitter Spaces.

Lil Yachty and Drake

Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s high-profile exchange might have cooled off since the “Not Like Us” video dropped, but it’s still a hot topic among Hip Hop fans and the pair’s frequent collaborators. On Wednesday (July 31), Lil Yachty appeared on Andrew Schulz’s “Flagrant” podcast, during which he was asked about the beef.

“I think people are just hating on Drake because he’s the guy,” the Teenage Emotions rapper said. He then referenced a now-archived episode of the “A Safe Place” podcast in which he gave his detailed thoughts on being named-dropped in Lamar’s “euphoria.”

“I wish I had never [spoken] on it. I wish I hadn’t said any part about it,” Lil Yachty told the hosts. Regarding the incident where he liked a tweet about Lamar allegedly cheating on his wife, the musician claimed, “That really was an accident.”

Schulz circled back to the topic later in the discussion, noting that Drake’s music still dominates at parties and clubs. the Georgia native responded, “Outside of the people who care about Hip Hop, [nobody gives a f**k] at all.”

Lil Yachty also commented on the OVO Sound founder’s attitude during the spat: “He really didn’t give a f**k. He was unfazed . I respect it a lot and I talked to him. That s**t didn’t bother him.” He continued, “I never saw him down ever. I never saw kicking his f**king foot [or] holding his head down. [It got] to a point where I just stopped talking to him about it because I felt like I was the one bringing him the negativity.”

On the “ A Safe Place ” podcast in May, the Quality Control Music signee initially said that Drake was “deemed a loser in this battle before it started,” mainly because he isn’t well-liked by some. He also mentioned that even if Lamar came out ahead in public opinion, the Toronto native come out on top in the long run.

Lil Yachty, Teezo Touchdown bring students from across New York to Block Party

Lil Yachty headlines University Union’s Block Party 2024. He played old hits like “Broccoli,” as well as newer songs from his latest album, “Let’s Start Here.”

In an interview with The Daily Orange before his Saturday performance, Teezo Touchdown said Lil Yachty was a source of encouragement for him in his career. During his brief stint in college, he remembered borrowing videos of one of Lil Yachty’s first press runs from the library to watch.

“To watch that, and then him being one of the first people to pour into me and to share the stage with him tonight, I’m honored to open up for him,” Touchdown said. “We’re gonna get the crowd right for him because he deserves it.”

On April 28, over 4,000 students came to JMA Wireless Dome to round out the end of the semester with University Union’s annual Block Party. This year’s artists were Lil Yachty , Teezo Touchdown , KARRAHBOOO and isoXO , with student DJ group FEƎM opening the event. The crowd was lively for the duration of the event, but it wasn’t until Lil Yachty took the stage that they went loose.

Before Block Party, UU kicked the day off with their second annual Block Darty on the quad. The event included free food, merchandise and live performances from Dreamer Isioma, renforshort and DWLLRS.

In a new move for UU events, students from other schools in New York including Le Moyne College, New York University and Ithaca College also came to take in the night of music alongside Syracuse University and SUNY ESF students.

FEƎM opened the event in the Dome. While the group of SU seniors recognized plenty of familiar faces in the crowd from shows on campus, this was the biggest set up the house collective has had the opportunity to participate in.

“It felt like we were people that snuck on stage,” said Dominic Brancoli, SU senior and member of FEƎM.

KARRAHBOO took the stage next. The Concrete Boys — Lil Yachty’s label — signee kept the crowd engaged while performing tracks including “Running Late.”

Along with songs from his discography like “how2fly,” Isoxo kept the crowd’s energy up by playing mixes of songs including “FE!N” by Travis Scott featuring Playboi Carti as well as “GATTI” by JACKBOYS.

As students waited for Teezo Touchdown to land on stage, “RUNITUP,” a song from Tyler The Creator’s album “Call Me if You Get Lost” featuring Teezo Touchdown, started playing.

As the chorus of the song kicked in, Teezo Touchdown, dressed in spiked shoulder pads and leather, ran onto the stage and started rapping along into his Morrisey-inspired microphone of roses.

After rapping over a portion of the song, he asked the crowd if he could play some new songs from his latest album “How Do You Sleep At Night?” and opened with “OK,” the first song from the album.

Through the rest of his set, he stomped on stage with his padded boots and interacted with the crowd as he performed more songs including “UUHH” and “5 O’Clock.”

“Syracuse, do you wanna dance?” he asked the audience before performing “MODERN JAM,” a song from Scott’s “UTOPIA” featuring Touchdown.

After Touchdown left the stage, the audience of thousands chanted “Yachty,” eager for him to make his arrival. At 9:50 p.m., the lights dimmed and members of the audience quickly took their phones out to record Lil Boat as “WE SAW THE SUN” from Lil Yachty’s 2023 album “Let’s Start Here.” played.

As the song transitioned into “drive ME crazy!,” which follows it on the album, the rapper, dressed in a white and black Yamaha jacket, approached the stage to a wave of cheers.

After he performed “A Cold Sunday,” Lil Yachty reminded the crowd that the night was just getting started.

“I’m trying to get y’all nice and toasty,” he said.

To create more activity during his set, he called for mosh pits multiple times, where students would come together for songs like “Flex Up,” “Pardon Me” and “Ice Tray”

Along with playing newer songs like “Slide” and “SOLO STEPPIN CRETE” through the night, Lil Yachty took the time to play his classics, including “Broccoli” and “I Spy.”

“I wanna hear you sing this sh*t if you remember it from day one,” he said before singing “One Night.”

After proclaiming that he wanted to end his set with a “bang,” Lil Yachty played “Poland” and “66.” Before leaving the stage, he thanked everyone for coming and wished students luck with finals.

“Syracuse, y’all gave me 1000% energy tonight,” he said. “Love y’all. I will be back.”
