There is a first time for everything and Fincantieri has reached that milestone again with the launching of their first ever Superyacht Serene . The Serene is a culmination of more than 50 years of strong growth and creativity by Fincantieri whose base of operations is in Italy where it all started. Although, Fincantieri is only celebrated it’s golden anniversary they have had more than 7000 vessels constructed and 200 years of actual shipbuilding experience within the companies that make up the shipbuilding firm known as Fincantieri. Fincantieri has 10 shipyards as well as subsidiaries in both Italy and the United States, which they can use to service your needs.

The largest yacht that has ever been built in Italy the mega yacht Serene is a grand achievement for both the shipbuilder and its ultimate owner. The Serene is in a very exclusive class since it is a member of the 10 largest yachts in the world club exclusivity makes this vessel very desirable amongst the world’s wealthiest connoisseurs of yachting. The Serene has been designed with the incorporation of both sophistication and technology in mind making them one and the same. All of this adds up to a yacht that can serve as both a base of corporate operations and personal playground, and will set sail by years end making way for Fincatieri’s next project at 140 metres.

The 134-metre superyacht hull is a remarkable sight because of its impressive size and obvious claim as the centerpiece of any port it is at berth in. The hull of the Serene has been built to comply with the top class of international safety regulations regarding passenger transports. The hull of the Serene is constructed using the latest state of the art materials that will not only make it incredibly tough, but lightweight for a better max speed. Seven decks make up the Serene from top to bottom, which also includes a hanger, two helo-pads, and a salt-water swimming pool that can accommodate its service craft including a submarine that can reach 100 metres in depth.

There has been no expense spared with regard to the interior of the Superyacht Serene as well. There is more than 4500 square metres of interior space that includes 2700 square metres of opulent luxury that Pascale Reymond personally designed. The bridge of this awesome ship is a captain’s dream workspace with the best in operating systems that can do the job safer, easier, and comfortably. The owners and guests aboard the Serene will not want for any creature comfort that comes to mind either. The cabins are all well appointed with the finest in materials and furnishings. The common areas of the Serene are expertly appointed as well, and there are state of the art entertainment systems ship-wide for all to take advantage of personally or as a group.

The striking 134-metre mega yacht SERENE was built by the Italian shipyard Fincantieri and launched in 2011. SERENE is a truly remarkable vessel, which was designed to take her owners anywhere in the world in sublime luxury and ultimate comfort and safety. Spanning seven private decks, she is in a class of her own on every level.

The sundeck offers Hot and Cold Spa Pool’s alongside the spacious jet stream pool, sun lounge, and sun pad areas. There is a day head on the sundeck.

The aft area of the deck below offers a helicopter pad that converts to an either a pool or a dance floor.

Below this is the owner's deck.

Deck 4 Upper deck: The forward observation lounge is a spacious inviting lounge area with panoramic views, ethanol fireplaces and easy access to the exterior. An ideal place to relax alone or with the entire party.

Aft of the observation lounge are 3 well sized double cabins ( all with king size beds), one convertible double/twin and one twin nanny/staff cabin. All with excellent en-suite facilities and wardrobe.

The conference/ boardroom on deck 4 boasts excellent audio-visual facilities and can also be divided into two separate conference/meeting rooms.

The piano bar and lounge are the perfect settings for an evening’s entertainment.

The main deck offers a range of possibilities: immediately aft is a bandstand with a non-slip dance floor. In the day this glass floor can be withdrawn letting natural light flood the fresh water / seawater pool below.

The interior boats the formal dining area with either a split or united dining for 24+ and guest lounge, further accommodation of 2 doubles, nanny suite, and children’s suite. Forward to starboard the children's games room drops through two decks and has an interior slide and climbing wall plus play area. A true paradise for the kids.

Deck 2 aft offers endless possibilities for fun. The seawater or freshwater swimming pool, sauna, hammam, and beauty centre with swim platform. A uniquely designed 'snow room' with snow maker for those who love to leap from the freezing cold into the sauna, the sea or the hammam!

The owner's sea cabin with its private swim platform (and private lift) is a further superbly appointed double cabin.

Opposite the guest galley is a degustation room where a permanent selection of edible delights is available 24/7 for guests. Last but not least the Nemo room is a Jules Verne adventure - decorated as the interior of an ancient submarine ( 20,000 leagues under the sea) this room offers glass bottom viewing and delights for all.

A Place For Everyone To Unwind:

By day, deck five is perfect for al fresco dining and relaxing, with a wet bar, barbecue, pizza oven and even a Japanese style teppanyaki grill. After lunch, guests might head to the bridge deck for a dip in one of M/Y Serene’s swimming pools, if the 15-metre saltwater pool on the beach club is too crowded. Of course, there are hot and cold Spa Pool tubs and an expansive sun lounging area. After a hard day, the top deck is the perfect place to watch the sun go down, perhaps from the comfort of yet another pool or one of its neighboring Spa Pools, before beginning an evening of entertainment. Dance the night away on the aft deck, with its two bars, dance floor, and bandstand...

Divine relaxation:

Guests looking for activity on board can choose from a myriad of swimming pool; Spa Pools, both hot and cold; the inimitable snow room, spa area, sauna and even a cinema. Designed with family holidaying in mind, Serene has a children’s playroom complete with X-Box, PlayStation, and climbing wall. For kids of all ages, there is a slide between decks 3 and 2, a much more fun alternative to lifts and stairs!

The yacht which gives everything:

Delve into the yacht’s garage and you will discover an exhaustive collection of tenders and toys, ensuring water fun for all guests of any age. Serene also boasts a helicopter hangar and two helipads (one of which converts into a swimming pool when not in use). And finally… for the businessman who needs to work, hidden away there is even a boardroom with full conference facilities.

It feels as though there are endless secret places to explore and enjoy. Serene’s master cabin has its own private lift direct to the Nemo Room, an intimate underwater viewing room inspired by the novel 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. For a different attraction, the galley also has glass walls so guests can enjoy the incredible expertise of the chefs in action. And although you might not expect ‘cosy’ to be an adjective used to describe a 134m superyacht, the forward observation lounge, with its domed fireplaces, is just that. For a moment’s peace, bookworms can retreat to the onboard library while others head for pampering in the spa deck. For more formal entertaining and socialising, the dining room features its own cocktail bar, complete with grand piano.

Impressive for her sheer size and volume her space has been utilized in a such a fashion that guests never feel dwarfed nor lost. She is a very personalised yacht with a stunning attention to detail.

SERENE can accommodate twenty four guests. She has 12 enormously luxurious staterooms including a principal's/owner's deck/suite, VIP staterooms and guest staterooms in both a double bed and twin bed arrangement. The principal's deck boasts an exterior hot tub situated on the principal's terrace. The principal's stateroom has a centered oversize California King bed, full walk in dressing area and spacious en suite bathroom. (The second master cabin also comes with full ensuite facilities and walk in dressing room.) The owners stateroom has its own lift which links to the owner’s 'sea cabin on deck 2' with private swim platform. Aft of the owners suite is the owners salon, lounge bar and library with fireplace. This area is accessible to guests or able to be kept private for the principal, depending on requirements. Serene also generously accommodates a crew of fifty two in separate crew quarters. The principal's deck boasts an exterior hot tub situated on the principal's terrace. Motor Yacht

Serene is a 134 metre motor yacht which was launched in 2011 by Fincantieri Yachts, and is believed to be one of the most technologically advanced in the world.

The Fincantieri Yachts team developed the Serene project from a groundbreaking concept design by Espen Oeino with the interior spaces designed by Pascale Reymond from Reymond Langton Design.

She has seven decks, a hangar and two helicopter landing pads, a large sea-water swimming pool and a tender garage suitable to fit a submarine.

Delivered in 2011, she is one of the largest yachts in the world and a benchmark in technology, innovation and style, not to mention winner of the World Superyacht Awards 2012 in the 3,000-tons-and- above category.

Fincantieri could not have had a more spectacular debut in the sea’s most exclusive market segment with a project reflecting the importance they place on the sea, technology and owner satisfaction.

Serene has been built to meet SOLAS regulations (Safety of Life at Sea), under the supervision of the Lloyd’s Register of Shipping and finally registered under the brand new, at that time, PYC (Passenger Yacht Code).

134m ‘Serene’ runs aground in Red Sea

The fincantieri-built superyacht is reportedly bow-up on the rocks, 20 nautical miles east of sharm el sheikh.….

Sources close to SuperyachtNews have reported that the 134m Fincantieri build, Serene , has run aground in the Red Sea, 20 nautical miles east of popular Egyptian holiday resort, Sharm El Sheikh. 

The vessel is reportedly bow-up on the rocks, and has sustained structural damage to the bulb, bow and hull. The hull has allegedly punctured forward – while there is no water ingress at present, there are concerns of her sustaining further damage on the rocks.

The cause is thought to be a navigational track error and propulsion failure, although this information is not yet confirmed.

The situation is said to be resolvable with a hull patch and ballast placed aft, however weather conditions have not favoured her removal, but are improving.

In 2015, the 2011 build was sold to the current owner for an undisclosed price in the largest brokerage deal of the year by some distance.

Yachting and mainstream media outlets did not reveal a consistent selling price for the deal, however those reported stretch from €350 million to €500 million, as specified in October 2015 by The New York Times .

Emerging from her construction shed for the first time, onlookers reveled in the sight of the 130m+ Lurssen superyacht DEEP BLUE as she moved from the shipyard's Lemwerder facility.

Transported to a floating dock outside the Lurssen Aumund facility, DEEP BLUE was transferred to enable the attachment of her bow, with the previous construction shed simply not being long enough to accommodate her full LOA.

Anticipating a gross tonnage of around 9,000GT, first impressions of the Lurssen motor yacht indicate extensive exterior liveability with walk-around decks, a large infinity pool on the upper deck aft, plus potentially dual helipads on the foredeck and top deck aft.

Now set to undergo finishing stages, DEEP BLUE is not expected to emerge again until she embarks on her sea trials in the North Sea. It is not yet known whether she will become available for  luxury yacht charters .

DESTINATION is a tried and true world cruiser built for voyages from the tropics to the polar climates. She is in immaculate condition courtesy of a meticulous maintenance schedule, generous budget and loving care from two owners and one main captain that has been with her for most of her life. She was built to ABS Class and MCA compliance and is ready to take her next owners and their guests on their future voyages. DESTINATION showcases many up-to-date features including a sloop rig with carbon mast and in-furling boom, six captive winches, flush deck hatches and recessed articulating anchors.

DESTINATION has benefitted from substantial refits every five years of her life. In her last refit that wrapped up in December 2020 with over $4 million spent, she benefitted from significant works including a major rig survey completion, exterior repaint of the entire yacht, a renovated interior including re-veneer of the upper salon/pilothouse walls using wood from the original stock of the boat, all overheads, flooring and soft goods were replaced and her engine, generators and systems were replaced, refurbished and serviced as necessary. She completed her 20-year ABS class survey in 2021 and passed with flying colors. The current condition of DESTINATION is, in one word, extraordinary. She has maintained her original practicality and appeal and boasts all the modern features optimized for owner and guest comfort.

DESTINATION’S interior is modern with a timeless layout. A lovely combination of neutrals and pops of color makes the ambiance warm, welcoming and fun. Forward of the cockpit through the double sliding doors is the upper salon/pilothouse. There is a generous lounge area with a deep sofa, a custom bar and a dining table for eight guests. The inside steering station has instruments and controls housed in a panel that lowers out of sight when not in use. The upper salon is filled with natural light that flows down into the main salon. There are stairs that lead down to the lower main salon that has been configured to be used as a dedicated lounging and living area complete with a 70-inch TV, large, comfortable sofas and chairs and a stunning handcrafted coffee table that is the focal piece of the room. The generous, U-shaped galley is forward of the salon where the chef can prepare delightful meals onboard.

DESTINATION welcomes eight guests in four beautifully-appointed cabins. The styling is luxurious and cozy with high-quality linens, silk and soft paneling and natural light. The master suite is full-width and consists of a bedroom area, a private daybed space and an en-suite bath. The bed is center-stage in the stateroom with nightstands on both sides and plenty of storage for belongings. There are two identical staterooms forward, each offering a centerline queen-size bed, sofa, closet and bedside nightstands. An additional smaller cabin features a full bed and a Pullman berth. An en-suite bathroom accompanies each additional guest cabin. DESTINATION accommodates six crewmembers in three cabins.

DESTINATION’s exterior lines are sleek and appealing to the eye. The visual impact is even greater thanks to her fresh custom paint application, achieved in the 2019/2020 refit. She received new decks in 2014 that were completely re-caulked in 2022. DESTINATION’s deck includes social areas at the forward cockpit when the tender is launched and the aft cockpit with the full dining setup and custom sofa. Drop-down curtains protect the cockpit during inclement weather and custom mats can be placed on the aft deck for sunbathing. Her opening transom provides a platform for easy tender boarding and access to the water along with a shower and dimmable lighting. Der Rumpf der „Bayesian“ sei intakt geblieben, so Paolo Cori einer der weltweit führenden Experten für Segel- und Rennboote in today.it . Seiner Auffassung nach sei die Position des Schiffs-Kiels zu überprüfen. „Bei einem 9-Meter-Kiel wäre die Bayesian vielleicht umgekippt, aber ohne zu kentern“, sagt Cori. Es sei wichtig zu prüfen, ob ein Bullauge am Rumpf offen oder die Fenster in der Lounge kaputt gewesen seien. Auch der über 71 Meter hohe Aluminiummast im Verhältnis zu Länge des Segelschiffs könnte in Extremsituationen, wie dieser zu einem kritischen Problem werden. Der Mast sei allerdings ein charakteristisches Element der „Bayesian“, betont der Experte. 2009 wurde es als das beste Kreuzfahrtschiff der Welt bezeichnet. Ähnlich sieht das Bootsbauer Jan Maas in der FAZ . „Ein intaktes Schiff würde sicherlich nicht ohne Weiteres auf die Seite kippen und sinken. Es ist zu vermuten, dass es zu Schäden gekommen ist, die die Stabilität beeinträchtigt haben. Wenn das Schiff erst auf der Seite liegt, kann Wasser eindringen und den Auftrieb der Yacht so stark mindern, dass sie untergeht“, sagt Maas im FAZ-Interview. Bei dem Alumast handle es sich um eine ausgereifte Technik. Ein Rigg bestehe allerdings aus vielen Komponenten. „Wenn da ein Einzelteil versagt, kann es zu einer Kettenreaktion kommen.“ Das ganze Schiff wurde nach hohen Sicherheitsvorschriften gebaut. Eine Werft wie Perini Navi habe viel Erfahrung. Bei plötzlich auftretenden Wettersituationen könne es schwierig sein, den Anker zu lichten oder zu kappen, wie Beobachtungen aus der Vergangenheit zeigten. Yacht-Drama vor Sizilien: Suche nach Vermissten geht weiter Update vom 21. August, 5.50 Uhr: Die Suche nach den Vermissten der Yacht „Bayesian“ blieb bislang ergebnislos. Den Tauchern sei es gelungen, durch ein Glasfenster in den Rumpf des Bootes einzudringen – jedoch nicht in die Kabinen. Dies könne einige Zeit dauern, da Eingänge blockiert würden, berichtet das Portal Giornale di Sicilia . Zudem erschwere die Position der Yacht den Einsatz. Dieses liegt derzeit auf der Steuerbordseite. Inzwischen ist ein bedrückendes Video aufgetaucht, das den Untergang der Luxusyacht vor der Küste Siziliens zeigt. Die Überwachungskamera einer Villa in Porticello nahm diese Szenen auf. Darauf zu sehen ist deutlich der Mast der „Bayesian“, im Vordergrund sind kleinere Boote zu sehen, es scheint in Strömen zu regnen. Innerhalb weniger Zeit verschwindet die Yacht von der Bildfläche. „In nur sechzig Sekunden kann man sehen, wie das Schiff verschwindet“, sagte der Besitzer des Anwesens gegenüber der italienischen Nachrichtenagentur Ansa. Taucher suchen nach Vermissten der gesunkenen Luxusyacht vor Sizilien Update vom 20. August, 21.01 Uhr: Am Dienstag haben Taucher die Suche nach den sechs vermissten Insassen der vor Sizilien gesunkenen Luxusyacht fortgesetzt. Im Einsatz an der in 50 Metern Tiefe am Meeresgrund liegenden Yacht sind Spezialisten der Feuerwehr, die für Tauchgänge auf beengtem Raum ausgebildet sind. Ein erster Tauchgang der aus Rom und Sardinien angereisten Spezialisten verlief nach Angaben der Feuerwehr ergebnislos, weil Möbelstücke den Zugang zum Inneren der Jacht versperrten. Bei der Suche nach den Vermissten ist wegen der Tiefe, in der das gesunkene Schiff liegt, jeder Tauchgang auf zwölf Minuten begrenzt, wie Feuerwehrsprecher Luca Cari berichtete. Zwei Minuten davon sind für das Auf- und Abtauchen vorgesehen. Mehrere der jetzt beteiligten Spezialisten waren nach den Worten von Marco Tilotta vom Tauchteam der Feuerwehr von Palermo bereits am Wrack des Kreuzfahrschiffs „Costa Concordia“ im Einsatz, das 2012 vor der Küste der Toskana gesunken war. Damals waren 32 Menschen ums Leben gekommen. Yacht-Unglück in Italien: Suche nach Vermissten dauert an – Einsatzkräfte erklären problematische Rettung Die Bemühungen konzentrieren sich laut Tilotta darauf, in die Wohn- und Schlafräume der auf der Seite liegenden Yacht vorzustoßen. „Die Räume im Inneren eines Boots sind sehr beengt“, schilderte Feuerwehrsprecher Cari. „Wenn man auf ein Hindernis stößt, ist es sehr schwierig zu umgehen, genauso schwer ist es, Alternativrouten zu finden.“ Die mit zehn Besatzungsmitgliedern und zwölf Passagieren besetzte 56 Meter lange Luxusyacht „Bayesian“ war in der Nacht zum Montag in der Nähe von Porticello vor der Küste Siziliens in einem Sturm gesunken. Ursache war eine Wasserhose, eine Art Tornado über dem Meer. 15 Passagiere und Besatzungsmitglieder konnten gerettet werden. Eine Leiche wurde geborgen, sechs weitere Insassen des Schiffs werden vermisst. Bei dem Toten handelt es sich Medienberichten zufolge um den Koch. Update vom 20. August, 18.00 Uhr: Nach dem Yacht-Unglück in Italien geht die Suche nach den sechs Vermissten „unvermindert weiter“. Das teilte die italienische Küstenwache laut Sky News mit. Demnach würden derzeit „Taucher prüfen, ob es möglich ist, sicher in das Wrack einzudringen, eine Operation, die durch die Tiefe und die Lage des Rumpfes auf dem Meeresgrund in etwa 50 Metern Tiefe, eine halbe Meile vom Hafen von Porticello entfernt, erschwert wird“. Im Einsatz seien bei der großangelegten Suchaktion fünf Patrouillenboote und ein Hubschrauber der Küstenwache, ein Militärhubschrauber, Taucher, ein ferngesteuertes Fahrzeug, Marineeinheiten und Höhlentaucher. Zudem wurde die Identität von zwei Überlebenden des Yacht-Unglücks bekannt: Es handelt sich um die beiden Südafrikanerinnen Leah Randall und Katja Chicken. Sie waren laut Sky News als Besatzungsmitglieder an Bord der Bayesian. Update vom 20. August, 14.10 Uhr: Nach dem tragischen Unglück vor der Küste Siziliens gelten noch immer sechs Personen als vermisst. Die Suche nach ihnen gestaltet sich jedoch als schwierig. Den vom italienischen Festland beorderten Spezialtauchern gelang es laut Feuerwehr, in das Innere des Wracks vorzudringen und einige Räume unterhalb der Kommandobrücke zu untersuchen. Zahlreiche Hindernisse versperren ihnen jedoch den Weg, auch die Enge stellt sie vor Schwierigkeiten.  Vermisste werden in den Kabinen im Unterdeck der Yacht vermutet. Die Taucherteams der Feuerwehr bestehen aus zwei spezialisierten Höhlentauchern, die zwölf Minuten in der Tiefe bleiben, bevor sie aufsteigen, und sich ständig mit einem weiteren Team abwechseln. Derzeit wird geprüft, das Wrack unter Wasser zu öffnen, um sich Zugang zu verschaffen. Der Zugang zu den Kabinen im Unterdeck, in denen die Vermissten vermutet werden, ist noch immer versperrt. Wie das italienische Portal Giornale di Sicilia berichtet, sollen Taucher bereits ein Loch im Rumpf des Segelbootes geöffnet haben. Durch diesen Spalt sollen Rettungskräfte nun versuchen, in das Innere des versunkenen Bootes zu gelangen. Noch immer ist jedoch unklar, ob sich die Vermissten tatsächlich im Inneren des versunkenen Schiffes befinden. Luxus-Yacht kentert vor Italien: Mehrere Personen verschollen – Milliardärs-Ehefrau schildert Szenen an Bord Update vom 20. August, 6.20 Uhr: Angela Bacares, die gerettete Frau des irischen Milliardärs Mike Lynch, schildert nach dem Untergang der Yacht dramatische Szenen. Das Unglück habe sich demnach frühmorgens ereignet. Sie und ihr Mann seien um vier Uhr aufgewacht, weil das Boot plötzlich „kippte“, wie die 57-Jährige der Zeitung La Repubblica sagte. Ein Toter nach Yacht-Unglück geborgen Sie sei aufgestanden, um nachzusehen, ob es einen Grund zur Sorge gibt. Dann hätten die starken Schwankungen für erste Schäden gesorgt, Glas sei zersplittert. Die Scherben verletzten mutmaßlich Bacares an den Füßen, weshalb sie aktuell nicht laufen könne und auf einen Rollstuhl angewiesen sei, berichtet die italienische Zeitung.
