After the first 7 months since the launch of our online newspaper SUPER YACHT 24, the end of August is the right time to take stock of the activities carried out and of the goals achieved in the first half of this yachting season.

Since our “go live” day (Friday 21 st January 2022) to date, our editorial staff published 616 articles (both in Italian and English) read by 59,118 readers, resulting in 86,719 reading sessions, for a total of 118,168pages viewed (source: Google Analytics). At present, 834 professionals already subscribed to our daily newsletter (sent every morning at 8 o’clock) in order to receive the news published in our online newspaper directly to their mailbox on a regular basis. Our newsletter achieved a 43.1% viewing rate (source: Mailchimps), which is a very high percentage compared to other general or specialised media, thus confirming the great appreciation on the part of those who every day receive our news to keep updated about the latest developments in the super yacht industry, both in Italy and in the Mediterranean.

We are also particularly proud about our high number of followers on LinkedIn – already 2,677 – with an especially high engagement rate among the experts, as proved by the “likes” to our articles, and especially by the comments and considerations posted under the interviews, as well as with the in-depth news published by SUPER YACHT 24 in the first seven months of its activity.

As concerns geographical data, Google Analytics surveys showed that 81.77% of readers visiting our website www.superyacht24.it are Italian, while the remaining 18.23% are foreigners (British, French, Dutch, German, Spanish and Turkish readers). With regard to their market, 78.5% of SUPER YACHT 24 readers reside and work in Italy, while most of the remaining readers are based in the U.S., France, Holland, United Kingdom, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Monaco and Ireland (these being only the first ten countries). The online newspaper www.superyacht24.it was launched to provide experts with in-depth technical and economic news related to the mega-yacht industry, thus promoting the super-yacht sector and its related activities, as Italy is one of the most important production sites worldwide. With the upcoming boat shows scheduled for September (Cannes, Genoa, Monaco and Barcelona), we will increase our editorial contents for those who work in the super yacht industry or who are interested in it: shipyards, suppliers, shipowners, ship masters, crews, consultants and enthusiasts. Between the end of September and the beginning of October, SUPER YACHT 24 will publish also the first edition of its special supplement entitled “Super Yacht: the best of Made in Italy”, which will include the best of the Italian shipbuilding, supply and service sectors, as well as the market figures and trends that will be presented to the public during the upcoming boat shows.

Full steam ahead and enjoy your reading!

Majesty 140 yacht Gulf Craft

The biggest upcoming deliveries from every country in 2024

With nearly 700 yachts awaiting delivery, the superyacht industry is forging ahead into an exciting new year. BOAT looks toward the biggest contributions from around the world – showcasing a variety of fan-favourite series, entirely new designs and even some country records to boot...

Project Ali Baba

Builder: Lürssen Length: 142.1m

Officially launched in December 2023, Project Ali Baba was accidentally revealed slightly beforehand when a technical failure at the shipyard's Bremen site forced the yacht's nose into the dock curtain. Initial images of the yacht showcase a grey profile with an elongated bow and bold exterior lines spanning four decks. Otherwise, details of the project remain tightly under wraps.

The Netherlands

Feadship 821.

Builder: Feadship Length: 118.8m

Feadship's future flagship began construction in 2021 and was spotted for the first time as her bare hull was rolled out of the shed in 2022 . At 118.8 metres, Project 821 is believed to be Feadship's largest yacht to date, usurping its current flagship Anna , which measures 110 metres.

Freire NB-729

Builder: Freire Length: 105m

Freire has kept an extremely tight lid on Project NB-729 since announcing it had secured the contract in July 2021. Built from steel and aluminium, the 105-metre expedition yacht will become Freire's third-largest delivery once she is released from the yard in 2024, coming after the 111.9-metre Renaissance and 110.6-metre Falkor (Too) .

Builder: Bilgin Length: 80m

Named Al Reem , Bilgin's third unit in its 80-metre 263 superyacht series builds on the success of sister ships Tatiana and Leona with an additional 20 per cent in volume. All three hulls in the series share the same bullet-shaped profile conceived by Unique Yacht Design , with interiors by British studio H2 Yacht Design . However, Al Reem benefits from a fresh new layout and several technical refinements, including a longer upper deck and an extra covered area at the stern.

Builder: Admiral – The Italian Sea Group   Length: 78m

Very little is known about the upcoming 78-metre custom project from The Italian Sea Group 's Admiral brand. The 2,073 GT superyacht supposedly features an exterior from Igor Lobanov and an interior by Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design , with the latter also responsible for designing Admiral's upcoming Project Blue Marlin – a 76-metre motor yacht also due for delivery in 2024.

Golden Yachts 60M

Builder: Golden Yachts Length: 60m

Another entry with sparse details, the newest project from Golden Yachts promises to follow in the footsteps of previous deliveries O'Ptasia , O'Mathilde and O'Pari , with each yacht's exterior and interior design owed to long-time partner Studio Vafiadis . Most recently, Golden Yachts released the 77-metre O'Rea (renamed Malia ), which had her global debut at the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show.

Danzante Bay

Builder: Crescent Custom Yachts Length: 50m

Named after her owner's Mexican resort and golf course, Danzante Bay is notable for being the new flagship of Crescent Custom yachts as well as the largest yacht to be built in Canada. Her exterior design and naval architecture are from Gregory C. Marshall with interiors by British studio H2 Yacht Design that have yet to be revealed. Some of the known highlights include a sundeck spa pool, foredeck sun lounge and glass bulwarks on the upper deck offering unhindered views of the surrounding seascape.

JinLong 46M

Builder: JinLong Yachts   Length: 46.5m

One of three 46M models arriving in 2024, China's largest upcoming delivery comes from the same series commissioned by famed martial artist and actor Jackie Chan. The Karate Kid star received his own 46-metre JinLong superyacht in 2019 after graduating from a 2017 Ruiying 125 motor yacht. According to BOATPro , all three yachts will share the same Mulder Design exterior with input from the Chinese shipyard on the interior.

Conrad C144S

Builder: Conrad Shipyard Length: 44.3m

Following the success of the yard's new flagship Ace , Conrad Shipyard is readying the finishing touches on the series' second hull, which pairs an exterior from Reymond Langton with interior design from M2 Atelier . Onboard highlights include a generous beach club, an infinity pool and an outdoor cinema on the top deck. Work is also continuing on an upcoming third hull, Project Moonlight , with plans for a fourth hull already in the works.

United Arab Emirates

Majesty 140.

Builder: Gulf Craft Length: 43.1m

Representing the sixth unit in Gulf Craft's Majesty 140 series, this upcoming motor yacht was sold to an owner with plans to cruise the Mediterranean during her debut summer season before making the annual migration to the Caribbean. Interiors from Cristiano Gatto host up to 12 guests in five cabins, with crew quarters split between the bow and the aft of the yacht for a total capacity of nine.

South Korea

Builder: Legacy Super Yachts Length: 41.2m

Initially called the Phoenix 130, construction of the Legacy 135 began on speculation as the first in a new series set to include 50- and 70-metre designs. The upcoming yacht has been designed and engineered by American design team Joe Lazzara and Ian Ombres of Lazzara Ombres Architects , with an industrial and art deco-inspired interior from French designer Alexandre Thiriat .

United States of America

Westport 135.

Builder: Westport Yachts Length: 41m

The ninth hull in the W125 series, this latest project from Westport has been "redefined" as a W135 after being lengthened from the model's usual 38.1 metres to a custom 40.99 metres. The yacht is currently undergoing sea trials and its final outfitting stage before being delivered to her new owner in April 2024, with both exterior and interior design owed to the shipyard's in-house team.

Project Seaview

Builder: MCP Yachts Length: 40.7m

Project Seaview builds on an existing partnership with Dutch studio Vripack , having previously collaborated on the 37.4-metre Queen Tati and the 43.8-metre Raffaella II . For this latest instalment, the pair opted for a layout that would maximise privacy onboard, featuring a 360-degree master cabin with its own private terrace and settee. The yacht also makes use of a separate crew staircase for minimal guest disturbances – a feature not typically seen in yachts of a similar size bracket.

Horizon RP122

Builder: Horizon Yachts Length: 37.2m

With a delivery date teetering on the horizon, this custom R122 model was commissioned for a repeat Horizon Yachts owner with an expressed love for reef fishing. Special requests were made to house the owner's fishing and diving gear in the beach club, with added capacity for an ice chipper meant for freshly caught fish. At 37.2 metres, the yacht will be the largest of the J.C. Espinosa -designed RP series.

Builder: SilverYachts Length: 35.5m

Technically being built at the SilverYachts facility in China, the Australian shipyard began construction on the second hull in its SpaceCat series on speculation back in 2021. The yacht features exterior design by acclaimed designer Espen Øino , who has previously described the SpaceCat as a "bold undertaking" due to its efficient weight savings and clever internal layout. According to SilverYachts, the series is set to expand with an entry-level 22-metre model and a mid-level 24-metre model.

United Kingdom

Project fox.

Builder: Pendennis Length: 34.9m

Designed as a compact explorer for adventurous owners, Project Fox is on track to meet her slated delivery of March 2024. The 295 GT motor yacht includes an expansive 103.5-metre open aft deck capable of storing a pair of 7.5-metre tenders, plus the option of submersibles, Jet Skis or any other toys the owner might like. Other crowd-pleasing features include a DJ station, glass-walled sky lounge and dedicated wine fridge.

Builder: StellarPM Length: 33m

The StellarONE series offers a masterclass in supplying ample features on a relatively small platform. A beach club, tender garage, Tier III engines and a master cabin with its own fold-out balcony are only some of the highlights concealed within a 299 GT frame – and all for less than $10 million. In addition to the StellarONE108, the series will include full displacement and semi-displacement 118 and 130 models.

Builder: Granocean Length: 32m

Azure III is currently in the final stages of construction at Granocean's Zhongshan facility, where she will emerge as the yard's largest full-custom power catamaran to date. Onboard features include a generous swimming pool and lounge area on the foredeck, positioned transversely between the hulls. Inside, accommodations include an owner's suite, two additional VIP cabins and additional crew cabins.

South Africa

Builder: S outhern Wind Length: 31.4m

The fifth hull in Southern Wind's popular SW96 series was commissioned by a repeat client and has been designed to balance comfortable family cruising with more performance-oriented experiences. Once delivered, Liberty will join sisterships Nyumba , Ammonite , Seatius and Sorceress on the water.

Builder: Nautor Swan Length: 28.3m

In addition to being the first Swan 88 , this upcoming sailing yacht represents Nautor Swan's first-ever delivery with hybrid electric propulsion. The yacht also has a maximum heeling angle of 20 degrees paired with a four-metre draught, fashioning what the yard refers to as a "no-compromise cruiser with a racer soul". Further customisations include options for a shallow draft, telescopic and performance keel.

Grand Banks 85

Builder: Grand Banks Length: 25.9m

The first Grand Banks model to crest the 24-metre mark, the GB 85 is also notable for its V-Warp technology, which the yard has stated requires half the fuel of similarly-sized yachts. The model comes in an enclosed flybridge or open sky lounge configuration with accommodation for up to 10 guests. This upcoming GB 85 follows in the footsteps of the yard's flagship delivery, Betty , with a third hull already in build.

Highland Fling XVIII

Builder: Gunboat Length: 24.7m

Gunboat's flagship catamaran was commissioned by an experienced yachtsman and is expected to be one of the fastest in its size bracket. Capable of exceeding true wind speed at just six knots, Highland Fling XVIII is optimised for racing with a competitive, ultra-lightweight construction made of carbon fibre. Her striking red exterior is owed to fellow French studio VPLP , with interiors by Chedal Anglay Design .

Miami International Boat Show

Elevated interest rates, economic uncertainty, and a cooling boating market don’t appear to be lessening the appeal of the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show, which kicks-off its five-day run on Wednesday.

With six venues spread across downtown Miami and Miami Beach and an expected crowd of over 100,000 forecasted to attend through the Presidents’ Day holiday weekend, the first major U.S. show this year could be a banner event. “It’s the world’s largest boat and yacht show, offering everything from kayaks to superyachts, plus the latest equipment,” says Andrew Doole, president of Informa’s U.S. Boat Shows division. The stats back him up: There will be more than 1,000 boats from kayaks to superyachts on display, with more than 1,000 exhibitors.

The show will have a VIP program called Windward that provides access to lounges and transportation between the event’s six locations. The exclusive offering will also give access to Superyacht Miami and Art Wynwood.

Here are 10 boats, from global debuts to recently launched brokerage superyachts, that will define this year’s event.

AK Yachts ‘Victorious’

super yacht 24

The star of this year’s Miami show? That title will likely go to the 278-foot globe-trotting explorer Victorious from the Turkish yard, AKYacht. Taking up much of the dock space at the Yacht Haven Grande superyacht display, Victorious is coming to MIBS looking for a buyer. Asking price? A cool $129 million. This recipient of a 2022 Robb Report “Best of the Best” award is owned by Turkish entrepreneur Vural Ak, who bought the half-completed superyacht in 2016 from New Zealand billionaire Graeme Hunt and had it towed back to Turkey for completion. With an interior design by Britain’s H2 Yacht Design, Victorious offers sumptuous accommodation for 24 guests across 12 staterooms. It also comes with such luxuries as a massive wellness center with a beauty salon and steam room, a wine cellar, a cinema, two wood-burning fireplaces, and a well-designed playroom for kids. The range of 14,000 nautical miles at 13 knots shows that this vessel can go the distance.

Azimut Magellano 30M

super yacht 24

Azimut’s new Magellano 30 Metri splashed way back in January 2022. The flagship of its popular explorer series was originally scheduled to debut at last September’s Cannes boat show, which never happened. It’s finally making its “world premiere” at Miami. This new 98-foot 30M looks fresh, with a striking exterior by naval architect Ken Freivokh and glass-rich interior by Vincenzo De Cotiis. With its trademark wood slats by the stern cockpit and towering hull sides, the yacht is instantly recognizable as being from the Magellano series. The Miami showboat is the first in the U.S. and is currently listed for sale at $12.75 million. It’s said to have over $3 million in options, including upgraded MAN 1900 diesels.

Benetti ‘Grateful’

super yacht 24

Less than a year old, the 112-foot Benetti Grateful  will offer some lucky buyer the opportunity to skip the waiting list and take delivery of what is essentially a brand-new boat, in time for summer cruising in the Hamptons. Another bonus: the asking price of $15.9 million is reckoned to be well below the replacement cost. With an exterior design by Britain’s RWD studios, this Benetti 34M Oasis boasts one of the best beach clubs of any sub-120-foot superyacht, courtesy of fold-down terraces on each side, a glass-sided plunge pool overlooking the hydraulic swim platform, and even a cocktail bar. Add to this a contemporary interior in 50 shades of gray and beige by New York architectural firm Bonetti/Kozerki. Grateful ‘s twin 1,380 hp MTU diesels give her a 16-knot top speed and, at 10 knots, the range is 2,700 nautical miles.

Itama 62 RS

super yacht 24

If ever a boat was designed for the fast-living, look-at-me Miami boating lifestyle, it’s the Italian-built Itama 62RS . Launched back in 2011 with a wave-cleaving, deep-vee hull that dates back to Itama’s classic FiftyFive model from the mid-2000s, this classically styled 62-footer got a full makeover back two years ago. Now it’s being displayed for the first time in the U.S. at Miami. Looking like some classic 80s rocketship from Miami’s fabled Thunderboat Row, it has an impressively long foredeck, a wraparound windshield, and impressive power and performance. How impressive? With twin MAN V12 turbo diesels cranking out 1,400 hp each, the yacht has a top speed well over 40 knots. The cockpit can hold a crowd of up to 14, with three en suite cabins below deck accommodating up to six.

Formula 457 Center Console Sport

super yacht 24

Formula Boats’s popular 387 Center Console Sport is getting a new big brother. Being unveiled at MIBS is the all-new 457 Center Console Sport, which becomes the second-largest boat in the Formula line-up, behind the 500 Super Sport Crossover flagship. Part dayboat and part fishing machine, this new 45-footer comes with Formula’s proven FAS3TECH deep-vee hull and elongated hardtop with an opening windshield and air-conditioning, plus two rows of bolstered sports seats. Up front there’s plenty of seating, while a port-side door in the console leads down to a comfy cabin with a small galley, a head compartment, and a forward double bed. In keeping with Formula’s go-fast heritage, this new 457 comes with triple Mercury Verado 600 V12s. And next summer Formula is unveiling the 457 Center Console Fish version with an upper helm.

Riva 82 Diva

super yacht 24

The unveiling of a new Riva makes for a red-letter day at any boat show. And while the Italian yard’s latest 82 Diva flybridge had its premiere at last year’s Cannes show, it’ll be one of the showstoppers at Miami where it will be making its U.S. debut. This sleek, high-sided 82-foot beauty, from the drawing board of Officina Italiana Design, is distinguished by that unmistakable, swept-up hull feature line, a raked-back windshield, and a spacious flybridge. It also features a first for Riva: a beach club with fold-down bulwark terraces on each side. And when you have Piero Ferrari, son of Enzo, overseeing the design and engineering team, you know it will be fast. Powered by twin 1,900 hp MAN V12 turbo diesels, the Diva boasts a top speed of 31 knots.

Chris-Craft Launch 27, 150th Anniversary Edition

super yacht 24

Happy 150th to all Chris-Craft owners. In 1874, Christopher Columbus Smith started building wooden skiffs and inboard boats in Algonac, Michigan. To mark this auspicious milestone, the manufacturer—now based in Sarasota, Fla.—is unveiling a Sesquicentennial version of its iconic Launch 27 sports bowrider. There aren’t too many dramatic changes: The silver-gray hull gets an aquamarine boot stripe that was one of the builder’s signature colors in the early years. The hand-stitched, embossed leather cover on the steering wheel has a special 150th Anniversary cap and a Chris-Craft 150 welcome page on the chart-plotter. There is also an aquamarine-edged 150th burgee on the flagpole. It’s fitting that the classic Launch 27 was chosen to celebrate the 150 years of the brand since it was the first model in the current Chris-Craft’s lineup.

Boston Whaler 365 Conquest

super yacht 24

More than a few Boston Whaler devotees were upset when the much-loved 345 Conquest fishing machine quietly slipped out of production last year after a long, nine-year run. Thankfully their disappointment should be short-lived because the Miami show sees the unveiling of the 345’s spiritual successor, the all-new 365 Conquest. Loosely based on the larger, flagship 405 Conquest, the newcomer sees the 405’s quartet of Mercury Verado 400s replaced with triple 400 V10s. And while the 365 shares hull and superstructure design cues with the 405, the hardtop gets a new curvier windshield and increased glass in the pilothouse, plus a new upper helm station. The Edgewater, Florida-based division of Brunswick Corporation nicknames its new 365 Conquest the “SUV of the sea” courtesy of its unsinkable hull design, offshore capabilities, and “transformer” cabin, where the dining area transitions to sleeping quarters at the touch of a button.

Tiara EX 54

super yacht 24

The slogan for Tiara Yachts’s brand-new EX 54 cruiser, making its Miami debut, could be: “Honey, we shrunk the EX 60 .” Looking very much like a scaled-down version of its flagship 60, the 54-footer has inherited nearly all the best features of its larger brother. They include twin fold-down terraces on the cockpit with built-in doors, a side helm door, sliding glass rear windows with a drop-down section, and a large entertaining area in the bow. Of course, with six less feet to work with, the smaller aft cockpit has less lounging space. The Volvo IPS 950s diesels are also a step down in horsepower from the 60’s twin Volvo IPS 1050s or optional 1350s. Below-decks, the master is a tad smaller and bunk beds instead of twins define the guest cabin. Otherwise, the family resemblance remains intact.

Lazzara Yachts ‘Lanida’

super yacht 24

Just gazing at this 92-foot, Florida-built Lazzara 92 LSX and you can almost hear that iconic Jan Hammer soundtrack to Miami Vice. Built in 2010, it’s fresh out of a major refit managed by Lazzara as well as the original crew that’s still with this go-fast superyacht. Named Lanida, which roughly translates to “free spirit,” the yacht has never been chartered and only lightly used. Now it’s on sale, with a $2.95 million asking price. What sets the yacht apart, in addition to that dramatic styling and silver metallic paint, is its impressive power. Squeezed tight into its engine room are four Volvo IPS 900, packing around 780 hp apiece. The combined 3,120 hp is enough to punch the LSX to a top speed of over 31 knots.

The billionaire Meta Platforms CEO reportedly purchased the 287-foot vessel with the name Launchpad, according to The Sun and New York Post.

FOX Business reached out to Meta Platforms and a Zuckerberg personal spokesperson for comment on the vessel.

Zuckerberg has amassed a personal fortune that, according to Forbes, sat around $178 billion as of Thursday evening.

He has Meta Platforms, the corporate parent of Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp and Threads, to thank for that. He co-founded Facebook about 20 years ago.

The ‘superyacht in the sky’ that could change sustainable travel

A new airship production site in Doncaster will help to create a fleet of “ green ” aircrafts by Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV) set for take off in 2028.

The City of Doncaster Council and HAV have revealed plans for a flagship Airlander 10 production centre at Carcroft Common.

The Airlander 10 is described as “ultra-low emissions” and “the world’s most efficient large aircraft ” by HAV with a top speed of around 100mph.

MP for Doncaster North, Ed Miliband said: “This is absolutely fantastic news for Carcroft and for Doncaster. This new production site will create over 1,200 much needed highly skilled jobs to the area as well as bring green air travel a step closer.”

The company aim to produce up to 24 Airlander 10 aircrafts per year at the Carcroft Common site.

Onboard the hybrid aircraft, buoyant from non-flammable helium, there is a capacity for up to 100 passengers or 10 tons of payload.

“The City of Doncaster is at the forefront of embracing new technology to drive growth and this proposed Hybrid Air Vehicles site is not only part of our ambitious growth strategy but also our pioneering climate change ambitions, focussing on new green advanced manufacturing and sustainable industrial innovation,” said Ros Jones, mayor of Doncaster.

Tom Grundy, CEO of Hybrid Air Vehicles, believes the new production centre will create a “£1bn per annum export”.

“Our vision to rethink clean flight has been met with robust support at every step of the way by the City of Doncaster Council and South Yorkshire region,” Grundy added.

Air Nostrum, the Spanish regional airline, will be the first to use the service, with plans to take a fleet of 20 Airlander 10s to the Mediterranean in just four years.

The project development comes eight years after the Airlander 10  crashed during its second test flight  in 2016.

No crew were injured when the 98m long part plane part airship  crashed nose first  as it landed at its Cardington Airfield base at the end of its second attempt to fly.

A spokesperson for HAV said: “The prototype Airlander 10 undertook its second test flight and flew for 100 minutes, completing all the planned tasks before returning to Cardington to land.

“The Airlander experienced a heavy landing and the front of the flight deck has sustained some damage which is currently being assessed.”

Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly gifted himself a $300 million megayacht, dubbed “Launchpad,” ahead of his 40th birthday.

The staggering 387-foot-long vessel was seen floating at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., after arriving at its berth earlier this week, The Sun reported Thursday.

The multi-layered luxury ship’s sleek exterior was designed by Espen Øino International and boasts a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure, according to SuperYacht Times.

Reportedly ranking as the 45th largest yacht in the world, the interiors are just as aesthetically pleasing and reportedly executed by Zuretti Interior Design company, a France-based company specializing in unique and custom yacht design.

The breathtakingly beautiful floater stands out with a navy blue theme matching an American flag perched proudly on its wood-paneled stern.

The Feadship-built yacht, built in 2022, can comfortably fit 24 guests aboard, requires a crew of 48, and is said to cost $30 million a year for upkeep and usage, according to Superyachtfan.com .

Boatworld insiders have been buzzing with speculation that Zuckerberg is the owner of the newly minted mega-cruise ever since it made its main voyage from the Netherlands last week.

The tech titan was spotted touring the Russian-commissioned megayacht in early March, though the impressive boat didn’t arrive stateside until this week due to sanctions, according to The Sun.

The website reported that Zuckerberg purchased the pricey yacht – along with its own $30 million partner boat — most likely as an early 40th birthday present to himself.

The boat reportedly traveled to Florida after being granted special permission to be imported just weeks ahead of Zuckerberg’s birthday on May 14.

Zuckerberg’s yacht is just 30 feet shorter than the length of fellow billionaire Jeff Bezos’ 417-foot megayacht Koru, which the Amazon boss snagged for a whopping $500 million.

Zuckerberg’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos Celebrates Engagement With $4K Bottle Of Wine, Pop Music — Fiancé Lauren Sánchez Spotted Wearing Ring Worth Millions

Amazon.com, Inc. founder Jeff Bezos and his fiancée, Emmy -winning journalist Lauren Sánchez , celebrated their engagement with a lavish evening in Cannes, France, according to a new report.

What Happened : Bezos, 59, and Sánchez, 53, marked their engagement at La Petite Maison in Cannes, France, on May 22. The couple was joined by Bezos’ sister, Christina Bezos Poore, and her husband, Steve Poore .

The group enjoyed zucchini blossoms with parmesan cheese and a €4,000 (about $4,285) bottle of  Dugat-Py Grand Cru from Domaine Bernard , a small batch red Burgundy wine. The restaurant, known for its late-night live band, provided entertainment with covers of popular songs, reported People, citing sources.

Sánchez was later observed sporting a ring on her finger while aboard billionaire’s $500 million superyacht named the Koru . The diamond engagement ring, estimated to be “25-30 carat,” could fetch a value ranging “anywhere from $3 million to upwards of $5 million,” according to jeweler and expert Briony Raymond .

In August 2023, it was reported that the duo hosted an engagement party on the superyacht outside of Positano, Italy and invited several notable people including Bill Gates  and girlfriend  Paula Hurd , Leonardo DiCaprio Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield , among others.

As per the People report, Bezos and Sánchez have been spending quality time together on Amazon founder’s new yacht , exploring the South of France. They previously also attended the premiere of Apple Original Films’ “Killers of the Flower Moon” at the Cannes Film Festival .

According to a source, the pair “are usually hand-in-hand,” and “look very happy.”

Why It Matters : Bezos and Sánchez’s relationship has been the subject of much media attention. The couple’s love story began amid scandal, with Bezos  admitting to having a relationship with Sánchez  while still married to his ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott . The affair led to the most expensive divorce in history, but Bezos has since moved on and is now happily engaged to Sánchez.

Bezos and Sánchez have also been making significant life changes, with Bezos  selling off his Seattle real estate portfolio as they plan to move to Miami.

Meanwhile, last year, it was also reported that although Bezos didn’t have a prenuptial agreement during his prior marriage, resulting in a $38 billion settlement, it’s likely that he will safeguard his substantial fortune as he enters into his second marriage with Sánchez.
