Admiring my 4 yacht tandem; we have enough for a tunnel raft of our own at this point!

After breakfast, we anchored for our first dip in Mediterranean blue.

After a few hours to ourselves, we then rejoined the rest of the yacht fleet to create two rows for “the tunnel raft,” where we could swim in the middle and meet other yachts next to us.

Thankfully our chefs reminded to eat lunch during the party:

In the middle of the tunnel raft were floating “dance floors” that we sometimes used instead as a floating beach…or a wrestling mat.

Gina and I took it very seriously:

Our friend DJ Alex EBS then made an appearance on The Kraken boat, taking over with his music and preventing any bad blood between our 4 Soundboks’ and the Colombian boat’s Soundboks.

As the sun began to set, we cooked dinner with our floating neighbors.

Boat hopping continued where gossip and conversations led to stargazing and looking for shooting stars.

  • THE JOURNEY

The Yacht Week Announces Dates for Summer 2023

The Yacht Week

Young, adventurous travelers can now book for summer 2023 on The Yacht Week and join a flotilla of like-minded people to enjoy a unique mix of sailing, parties, activities and exploration. With a choice of routes in Croatia, Greece, and a new route in Turkey, there is no better way to spend time with friends, and make new ones from around the world, as guests set sail and sleep under the stars, all set against a stunning scenic backdrop and a party soundtrack. Guests should book quickly to secure early bird access and pricing.

Summer 2022 saw another sold out season as The Yacht Week took over 900 yachts to the water, hosting 10,000 people from over 50 countries on a seven-day trip-of-a-lifetime. Once again in 2023, groups of friends or solo travelers can charter a yacht of their choice, together with a skipper and host, and enjoy the best week of their life. Based on previous years, the best value and biggest yachts across Croatia, Greece and new destination, Turkey, will sell out fast.

Nothing beats the feeling of joining friends on a luxury yacht adventure and The Yacht Week can be trusted to deliver the perfect experience. All routes offer guests a carefully curated 7-day itinerary full of unforgettable experiences as they wake up to a different view each morning; the chance to swim and snorkel in natural bays, take part in a regatta, explore local towns (hire ATVs or VW Beetle convertibles to go even further), go hiking, kick back at stylish beach bars and restaurants (the hosts are also trained to cook delicious meals on the yachts using local ingredients), party in unique locations every night with a roster of international DJs and much more.

greece yacht week 2023

For those guests who want to explore all day and party all night the faster paced Croatia routes are the perfect choice. Sailing the islands and coastline around Split, every day in Croatia is an adventure and every night is a new party, from clubs to deserted islands, with world-class DJs dropping the best tunes. The Yacht Week even provides an exclusive party at the historic Fort George in Vis. Out at sea, the circle raft and tunnel raft parties see DJs perform on the ‘Buzz Boat’, a floating DJ booth fully loaded with VOID Acoustics sound-system alongside the world’s first floating dance floor. If recovery is required, guests can sleep in the sunshine on the yacht deck, try beachside yoga or a workout, or meander up the old-town streets of the iconic town of Hvar to enjoy sunset over the medieval castle of Fortica.

Guests can choose to make music central to their experience with Croatia routes including Ultra Festival, where, alongside The Yacht Week’s bespoke music programming, dance music fans can attend one of the biggest and best EDM, house and techno festivals in the world as VIP guests. And what better way to get there than by yacht? This is a festival experience like no other.

2022 also saw the launch of The Yacht Week Presents, and a week-long collaboration with cutting edge techno label Drumcode. This week returns in 2023 and continues to redefine what a music festival can be as an exclusive selection of techno and travel fans will enjoy intimate sets from renowned DJs, such as Drumcode founder Adam Beyer, in unique locations such as a lighthouse, a deserted island, a submarine shelter, a historic fortress and more.

For a more relaxed pace guests can sail the crystal-clear waters around the Saronic Islands in Greece. There are still plenty of DJs and themed parties, as well as raft parties where the yachts join together out at sea, but there is also more focus on chilling with cocktails at day parties, sunset sessions, staying overnight in deserted natural bays and exploring local shops, restaurants and bars in ancient backstreets.

In summer 2023, The Yacht Week returns to Turkey – the first time since 2015 – where a strictly limited number of yachts will sail the Turkish riviera around Fethiye on the most inviting, mirror-like seas reflecting stunning sunsets each evening. Guests will enjoy boujee beach bars on gorgeous soft yellow sand, Turkish baths, and a culture which embraces community, food and adventure. This route will include a carefully selected itinerary put on by The Yacht Week’s knowledgeable team as well as some unforgettable parties of course. This new route will be a talking point of the summer for those lucky enough to secure a place.

Last summer The Yacht Week continued to show guests that life is better at sea, with many enjoying life-changing experiences such as learning to swim, discovering a new love of sailing, learning about food and cooking on yachts and more – The Yacht Week is so much more than just a holiday. Established in 2006, the team are highly experienced and can be trusted to help create memories that will never fade. With bookings now open for 2023, those travelers ready to do something incredible should book now and prepare for the best week of their lives.

TAKE A LOOK AT THE YACHT WEEK IN GREECE.

Sun seekers, rejoice! The Yacht Week Greece is fast approaching. The Yacht Week is a series of boutique floating festivals sets in destinations around the world. Gorgeous sailing, fantastic island destinations, parties, and of course, incredible Greek food make The Yacht Week Greece one of the most popular routes of all.

The first thing to know is that The Yacht Week is not a public event, but a private trip full of private parties. To join you must join one of these parties by chartering a yacht. Choose up to 12 of your friends and charter your own yacht or grab your best friend or significant other to join an existing yacht with a spare cabin. The best part about The Yacht Week is that the planning is done for you. You’ll receive an itinerary of your options and you can opt in and out of as many activities as you choose.

Start your journey at Alimos Marina, near Athens. You’ll be one of around 25 other vessels enjoying day parties and island delicacies. The Yacht Week’s site shares that, “Besides eating your way into a gyro-coma, there are plenty of things to do in Greece. Scooter around Poros and have a spa day in Hydra. Relax beachside or dial up the vibe with a game of water volleyball at the day party. If your heart truly lies at sea, the underwater art installation is where you’ll be. Greece has it all. Have a gander at all the goodness below.”

Spend your days enjoying floating parties with other yachts. Moor up side by side for an epic day of partying. Or break away to find secluded coves and hidden beaches to enjoy a private dip in the crystal-clear waters surrounding the Greek islands. Every night, stop at an island’s rocky cliffside and climb up (beverage in hand) to enjoy the most beautiful sunset nature has to offer. Pacifico Optical wrote, “The sun setting over the Adriatic Sea is a beautiful thing. Make sure you take the time to enjoy one along the way. The best way is with your feet dangling overboard in good company.”

Highlights of the week include seeing ancient Athens, and of course, the Acropolis, dropping anchor in secluded coves, wake-boarding or paragliding, and late-night Greek fiestas with some of the best seafood from traditional tavernas. Whether you want to eat lunch in the shadow of the ruins of Poseidon’s temple or find an uninhabited island, one of the best parts of chartering your own yacht is the freedom to break away from the route planning. Fortunately, your crew knows the secrets of the Greek islands and can make your trip the experience of a lifetime.

Vacation in Greece with a sailing yacht

What is your ideal vacation.

Does it involve sailing on beautiful seas, feeling sunshine and warm wind on your face, and immersing yourself in rich cultural sights?

Travel to the Greek Islands , and see Greece the way it was meant to be seen from the sea, while an experienced sailing team does all the work. This leaves you free to sail through the islands while you relax and enjoy all of the experiences and sights that Greece has to offer.

Ready for an exciting and carefree trip to the Greek Islands?

Keep reading to find out why sailing with Greece On Board is the best way to make your dream trip come true.

Why Greece?

Greece has some of the best waters for sailing in the world. The beauty of sailing the Greek seas, traveling from island to island, fills the five senses. It offers you idyllic views, blue seas, and geographic and historic riches.

Visit endless sandy beaches, private rocky coves, and quaint Greek villages. Feel the warm wind on your face, taste the authentic flavors of the country, and experience the genuine friendliness of the Greek people and the richness of Greek culture.

See the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets and fill your days with seaside memories you will never forget.

Charter a Sailing Yacht in Greece

We know that Greece is a fabulous destination. But, why charter a sailing yacht or catamaran?

Build Your Own Itinerary

Sailing yachts are your luxury transportation and accommodations on the sea, with the ability to build your own itinerary. You can wake up in a new place each day or spend several days in the same picturesque place. It’s all up to you.

Greece on Board offers 7-and-15-day itineraries.

Good for a Range of Travelers

Another reason sailing yachts are a great choice is that they cater to a wide range of people. Whether you are a beginner sailor or an experienced one, if you prefer to be active or to take things slow, chartering a sailing yacht is an excellent choice. Families, couples, friends, and adventurers-it’s an unforgettable experience no matter the size or interests of your group.

Your Own Skipper and Team

The best reason to charter a sailing yacht is that you can see the Greek islands from a private vessel with your own skipper and experienced team. You just have to relax and enjoy the ride.

It’s an Immersive Experience

There is nothing like sailing on the Greek seas. Let the skipper and his crew harness the wind and take you from one breathtaking island to the next.

Sailing by wind is one of the purest experiences in life. Our sailing vessels not only provide transportation but a full, immersive travel experience that offers our guests a deep connection to nature and the sea. No engine noise or rumbling, just following the ebbs and flows of the water around us and the wind that guides us, lulling our guests into a state of relaxation and happiness.

Sailing Destinations

Greece on Board offers a variety of destinations on your 7-or-15-day private sailing yacht sailing trip. Some of the island destinations might be changed because of weather or sea conditions, but your skipper has the experience of knowing when to adjust course if necessary. Here are some of the wonderful places we have the possibility of visiting.

The Saronic Gulf

The Saronic Gulf is a body of water nestled between mainland Greece and the Southern Peloponnese, a short sail from Athens.

An ideal place to sail for people looking for a relaxing, easy sailing vacation, the Saronic Gulf offers calm waters, natural beauty, and beautiful historical and waterfront sites.

There are many beautiful places to visit on the Peloponnesian coastline in addition to many picturesque islands in the Saronic Gulf. We highly recommend including Hydra, Spetses, and Poros.

The Cyclades

A sailing trip to the Cyclades offers a trip through the pearls of the Aegean and some of the most visited destinations in Greece.

There is a reason people love the Cyclades . The architectural scenery of white-washed houses, hilltop churches, and idyllic villages dazzles the eyes. There are unlimited beaches, coves, and blue waters to explore.

While the water conditions in the Cyclades are sometimes rough during July and August, it might be enjoyable for more experienced sailors.

Some of the islands that the Greece on Board team can include in your Cycladic itinerary are:

Yacht week was absolutely amazing and the best way to see Croatia in our opinion. We tacked on a few days in Split and Trojir but overall couldn’t be more grateful we saw so many islands.

The yacht week Croatia was absolutely amazing! We got to sail the sea, swim in stunning bags, party at luxurious beach bars, and make memories in unforgettably beautiful ways in gorgeous places.

I had the best time of my life during the yachtweek in Croatia last week of August 2023.
