Introducing: SevenFriday PS1/03

Not that long ago, SevenFriday took us to the beach with two brightly-colored releases ( covered here ). Well, what do you sometimes see way out in the water when you’re at the beach? Yachts, that’s what! Keeping the 10th anniversary ball rolling, they’ve just released the SevenFriday PS1/03.

For this design, the SevenFriday PS1/03 is a mashup of their classic P-Series lineup and the skeletonized S-Series. To hit the yachting theme, you’ve got a waxed American walnut going around the center of the case, flanked on each side in bright white Corian.

The remained of the watch, as you can see, is hitting heavily on navy blue for its color, with steel and white coming in as accents. Being a fan of blue, I find a lot to like, color-wise, about the watch. The navy blue suede strap seems perhaps an odd choice for a yacht-oriented watch, but I’m sure you could find a rubber strap to swap in. Then again, with only a 3 ATM (30 meter) water resistance rating, perhaps leaving the suede on to remind you to not go swimming with the watch wouldn’t be a bad idea.

The SevenFriday PS1/03 was formally introduced to the world at a shipyard in Zurich just a few days ago, on July 20th, alongside a drybag-style backpack as well as a trucker cap . Even so, we’re seeing that the $1,580 watch – and the accessories – are already marked as sold out on their product page. So, either it was super popular, or it’s not quite ready to order yet. SEVENFRIDAY Yacht Club II (PS1/03)

SEVENFRIDAY presents its latest timepiece, the Yacht Club II (PS1/03).

Fusing design elements taken from the classic P-Series and the skeleton S-Series, the SEVENFRIDAY Yacht Club II is a new spin on an old classic.

Taking inspiration from boat craftsmanship and the laid-back coastal life, this model features nautical elements throughout. Navy blue is the prominent colour seen in the suede strap, the dial and in the form of lacquer filling the recessed area in the crown.

To reference the beauty of classic boats, waxed American walnut is used in the animation ring fitted between two layers of matte white Corian.

The Yacht Club II comes with typical SEVENFRIDAY features like anti reflective sapphire glass, the Miyota movement and an NFC chip which allows for secure authentication and registration in the 7F App.

The brand’s industrial touch can be felt in the watch’s stainless steel case and bezel as well as skeletonized dial. SEVENFRIDAY has also released a waterproof backpack and cap to match this timepiece.

The launch of the Yacht Club II comes at the time of SEVENFRIDAY’s 10-year anniversary and the creation of UPO7F.

Sail away with SevenFriday’s latest release that captures the grace and style of classic boating. In red, white and blue, the P3/06 Yacht Club is dressed in its nautical finest representing the vessels that navigate the immense blue expanse with ease. Limited to 450 pieces, the contemporary instrument is a tribute to the boats that take to the waters for both leisure and sport; oceans that stretch as far as the eye can see.

SevenFriday’s signature layered dial is reminiscent of a compass rose bringing the nautical influence to life on the watch face. To navigate in the dark, the polished rhodium indexes at 2,6 and 10 o’clock are filled with SuperLuminova; a necessity when sailing the seas. The anchor motif at 12 o’clock is a clear indicator for the sailing inspiration enhanced by the wooden plank-style animation ring made from seven layers of maple veneer; a reference to the decks of many vessels that sail the rough seas. Catch a glimpse of the Miyota 82S7 automatic engine via the matte blue skeleton plate at 7 o’clock adding to the innovative, unique watch face. To finish the blue suede strap compliments each sailing reference enhancing the nautical theme further.
