Now, you can  select the captain and crew that will be accompanying you on your trip. You have to select a captain, as they will be responsible for driving the yacht you are renting. However, any additional crew is an optional choice that allows you to make your experience more enjoyable.

So, if your limit is 13 people and you initially plan for 10, you can potentially take as many as three more people with you. We cover all these details in  our FAQ . 

What Safety Practices Are In Place?

The team at Anchor places  safety as one of our highest priorities . In fact, we instruct our captains to keep safety at the top of their concerns while out on the water. This means they may be limited in what they can do for you based on the safety of the situation. Essentially, they will do what they can to keep you safe. 

Besides this, we ensure each ride is safe. This includes watching out for things like occupancy limits and the weather. We also follow all relevant boating laws. 

What If the Weather Is Bad?

In many cases, bad weather in Fort Lauderdale blows over pretty quickly. You can simply wait for the weather to pass and still get the most out of your boat rental. 

If the weather doesn’t pass and we determine that you cannot take out the yacht for the day, your rental will be canceled. If this happens, we’ll issue you a voucher for the value of the experience you booked. You can use this voucher to book a similar experience within 365 days of the experience you initially planned.

If this is your first time boating in Fort Lauderdale, you won’t want to miss visiting one of three popular local sandbars: the Fort Lauderdale Sandbar (also known as the ‘Triangle;’ within the New River), Lake Sylvia (south of Bahia Mar), and the sandbar on Whiskey Creek (near John Lloyd State Park). Make sure to stock up your cooler with your favorite drinks, adult beverages, and plenty of water. You could also bring aboard a couple of subs from your favorite deli, or order directly from Jay’s Sandbar Foodboat, which is anchored and open for business every Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 8pm.

Pro Tip : The first sandbar is located at the intersection of New River. Our team recommends arriving at the sandbar before noon to secure a primate location. Be sure you anchor your boat outside of the nearby channel.

You’ll be tempted to dock at many of Fort Lauderdale’s iconic restaurants on your cruise downtown along the New River. Dock at Boathouse to enjoy the views of water traffic while you sip on a glass of their fine house wine. Next, go to the Pirates Republic Seafood Restaurant and order the house’s popular exotic drink: Caprinha. Where to go Boating in Fort Lauderdale

Lake Sylvia

Lake Sylvia is a hidden gem located just off the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW),  north of Fort Lauderdale. Hop on a pontoon with the family and enjoy the small crowd of sunkissed Floridians that hang out here (don’t worry parents—this is a very family-friendly environment, you won’t find much of a party crowd here). If you have small children pack their floaties, the waters of Lake Sylvia are protected, warm and gentle. You and your crew will most likely be hungry after all the fun, nearby Lake Slyvia is Boatyard, a waterfront steakhouse with specialty beverages, and dishes even the kids will enjoy. 

Dockage : Leaving from the southwest corner, boaters can head west on the canal under the 7' bridge. Once you continue up the ICW, you can enter the canal just south of SE 15th Street where you’ll find a public boat ramp at Cox’s Landing.

Pro Tips : The water depth in Lake Sylvia can vary greatly depending on your location. Be sure to keep an eye on your depth finder and look for shallow areas.

Hugh Taylor Birch State Park

Also fondly known as Fort Lauderdale's 'Central Park,' Hugh Taylor Birch State Park is the green speck amid a concrete jungle located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway. To get here by boat, and cruise around Sunrise Bay or Coral Bay. On one side of the bay, you'll have the thick tropical hammock trees of Hugh Birch Taylor State Park; on the other side, you'll see Fort Lauderdale's famous luxury waterfront mansions. There are many more spots, like the Bonnet House and Garden, sitting just south of Coral Bay! This is a highly attractive area, so you'll likely see many others oohing and aahing at all the beauty surrounding them. 

Dockage :  Yes - the park has a public floating dock and pavilion so boaters can access the park via the Intracoastal Waterway.

Pro Tips : Fishing is allowed in the park, but be sure to keep an eye out for 'No Fishing' signs. No fishing is permitted in waters within the interior of the park, such as the mangroves or the coastal dune lake.

At the heart of Downtown Fort Lauderdale is New River, a system of canals providing visitors with the best views of this city. Hop on a boat to take a cruise downtown that offers a variety of experiences and places to see that will interest all ages. Follow one canal and you’ll see rows of colonial, oriental, and even modern mansions. Go down another canal and dock at The Wharf for a quick bite and one of their specialty drinks. You have 30 leisurely miles of waterway to explore in this ‘Venice of America.’

Once your embarkation date is 7 days away, the remainder of the amount due is processed.
• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
• If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.

Got to Gillen. Diagnosed the engine and transmission and v drive were kaput. Ordered rebuild 4108 with transmission and a rebuilt v drive. Charles Robb worked with TADiesel to assure the V drive would work. Got up and running and out Port Everglades and back home to St Simons Ga. Highly recommend this great team!

It serves as a comprehensive guide for your private yacht rental, delineating vital details such as vessel specifications, pickup date and time, location, terms and conditions, as well as insurance coverage and cancellation policies.

A Captain and Crew Agreement is a formal contract established between the charterer and the selected captain and crew members. This agreement delineates the terms and conditions surrounding the hiring of the captain and crew for your bareboat charter, ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated experience.

Although not obligatory when you rent a yacht for a day, it is customary to express gratitude to the crew and captain through gratuity at the conclusion of your charter. This gesture typically amounts to 15-20% of the charter fee. The captain undertakes the responsibility of distributing the gratuity among the crew members.

You are generally allowed to bring your preferred food and beverages on board for your yacht rentals in Fort Lauderdale, Florida . However, we kindly request that items like red wine, colored frosting, and potentially staining substances remain on land to avoid any mishaps. Your enjoyment should be accompanied by peace of mind.

Leopard 89′. The Seakeepers’ installation on this project was very challenging since there wasn’t any easy or direct access to the spot to place the units. The Seakeepers went in through the sliding roof of the boat, the stairs and floor were disembled to be able to get the units to the lower deck and then under the lower deck where they were finally installed. Our team (following the design and instructions of our naval architect) fabricated a custom foundation part aluminum tabbed with fiberglass and a romovable carbon steel beam supported by brackets. Also the surrounding structure was reinforced with carbon fiber.

This was definetely one of the most challenging Seakeeper installations we’ve enconuntered and completed succesfully thanks to the expertise and professionalism of the Starboard Yacht Group’s team.

84’ Lyman-Morse. When Starboard Yacht Group was first approached to install Humphree fins and interceptors on ‘Song of Acadia’, an 84’ custom motor yacht, the team quickly agreed to the job but not to the plan. Built by the illustrious boat builder Lyman-Morse, the vessel is a beautiful work of craftsmanship that deserves a high class of technology to go with its masterful design. Each year, this particular yacht travels all year long from the Florida Keys to New England, Nantucket, and beyond. Humphree interceptors and fins were a suitable fit for its needs. The question Starboard faced was how to make the servo units for the Humphree fins fit. As a true yachtsman, the boat owner knew what was needed but not how to approach it. A different shipyard initially proposed a complex and costly set of alterations. Calling upon the expertise of Starboard’s talented naval architect, the team devised a simpler solution to the problem. Their answer was not only more economical but also more functional. Rather than raise an entire floor of the vessel to fit the servo units underneath, Starboard built a footstep that served a purpose beyond making stabilization possible. Starboard’s design enabled passengers to access a previously unreachable porthole. Whether you need more air or a particular view from the vessel’s stateroom, you need to reach the porthole. Combining a naval architect’s trained eye with Starboard’s trademark creativity, the team addressed two challenges with a single alteration. More than maximum stabilization, the results included added functionality and approximately $100,000 in savings. Furthermore, Starboard’s fine craftsmanship matched the high level of the yacht’s original design work. It’s never easy to optimize without compromise, but if there’s ever a better way, Starboard will find it.

141’ Italyacht. We installed the following on this iconic 141′ Italyacht “Antelope IV”: 3 Seakeepers 26 for up to 95% of boat roll reduction, Humphree’s fixed fins made for waterjet boats for course keeping improvement, Humphree’s interceptors for trim control and added stabilization, and Humphree’s Interceptor Steering to significantly improve fuel savings and course keeping for waterjet propelled vessels.

It's now been a year and six months since we ordered our lift from Hurricane and paid for it in full. Boatlifters (Tommy Inzer) was at the Hurricane Boat Lifts booth at the boat show and Hurricane told us they were their best installers and that we should use them. Eighteen months later, after paying Hurricane, Boatlifters and Boatlifter's recomended permit expediter, Trident Environmental (Bibi Villazon), we have nothing, not even the lift, which Hurricane Boat Lifts claims was delivered to Boatlifters. There are two other reviews on Yelp and we'd like to speak with those reviewers. Anyone considering doing business with this company and their affiliates should seriously reconsider. We are now proceeding against all involved.

The whole experience with Boat Lifters was a nightmare. I paid for a job they never completed and did incorrect. They never did what they said. They had to come out multiple times. I had to keep making sure they gave me everything I bought. I had to call them numerous amounts of times and I was constantly ignored. Never returned calls, never return texts. NEVER COMPLETED MY JOB THAT I PAID FOR IN FULL. They were supposed to give me stainless steel so it wouldnt rust. In just a couple months its already rusting. I had to hire a different company to not only complete their job but fix the boat lift the proper the right way. Ive never dealt with such an unprofessional business. I was robbed of my money and my time. I highly recommend you stay clear of this business. If that's who you want to do business with that is what you'll get with them. Tommy was my main point of contact and a nightmare to deal with. Hes the owner so thats what youll get.

Builder: Sirena Length: 25m

German Frers is responsible for this volume-packed 25-metre cruiser, which hides bags of space across its tri-deck trawler design. Owner flexibility is prioritised in this model, with a flybridge that can be completely enclosed or semi-enclosed to offer a versatile upper deck space with a handy helm station. This is the first Sirena model to offer this kind of forward-thinking functionality – not even the 88 model comes with a fully enclosed flybridge. The yacht makes an exciting addition to the line-up of new yachts at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. 

Azimut Grande 36M

Builder: Azimut Length: 35.3m

The little sister of its larger 38-metre model, the Azimut Grande 36M is set apart from its siblings by her extensive use of glazing, open plan layout and eco-friendly performance – including her high-efficiency hull design created by Pierluigi Ausonio of Studio PLANA in collaboration with the Azimut | Benetti Research and Development department. Full-height, electrically operated sliding glass doors on the upper deck disappear completely into pockets in the superstructure when open, creating a semi-walkaround upper deck where the side decks act as terraces.

Numarine 37XP

Builder: Numarine Length: 37.2m

Designed by the Turkish yard and with Can Yalman , the 37XP features naval architecture by Umberto Tagliavini and interiors by Hot Lab. Its lines are a more refined take on the robust look of the 32XP with flowing softer lines that extenuate its longer length. Highlights come in the form of a 10-metre-long flybridge and space for a nine-metre tender on the upper aft deck that, when launched, turns into a large sunbathing platform.

Gulf Craft Majesty 111

Builder: Gulf Craft Length: 34.1m

This marks the Majesty 111's third continent following her debut in Dubai and first international appearance at the Monaco Yacht Show . With exterior and interior by Phathom (in the studio's first on-the-water project), a highlight of the yacht’s design is its focus on natural light, with up to 40 per cent more glazing than yachts of comparable size. This is particularly evident in the owner’s cabin, which sits below a glass-floored dip pool that sends cascades of light into the cabin below. The new model slots between the existing Majesty 100 and Majesty 120 models.

Ferretti Yachts 1000

Builder: Ferretti Yachts Length: 30.1m

Launched in 2021, Ferretti Yachts 1000 showcases a sporty exterior with an excess of glazing, enhanced by the practical beach club aft and spacious flybridge. The yacht's standout features include the "substantial" carbon fibre construction, with both the superstructure and hardtop fully constructed from carbon fibre. The yacht packs impressive interior volume into a modest LOA, and the high-volume Ferretti Group will be making its American debut on the docks at FLIBS.

Riva 76' Perseo Super

Builder: Riva Length: 23.3m

First launched by Riva in 2021, the Perseo Super (courtesy of Officina Italiana Design and Ferretti Group’s Engineering Department ) is a hardtop evolution of the Italian shipyard’s earlier Perseo model. Distinguished by her upper deck “sport-fly” helm and 40-square-metre windows, she still carries the Riva tradition in the extensive use of mahogany and polished stainless steel. A design highlight is her convertible cockpit, which sees the dining area become a spacious sunpad by lowering the table for eight and covering it with cushions.

Builder: Wally Yachts Length: 24.1m

First premiering at the Venice Boat Show (and then at Cannes), the wallywhy150's "semi-explorer, semi-fly" design harnesses the same team as her big sister, the wallywhy200. From the drawing boards of Wally-Ferretti Group Engineering team, Luca Bassani and Studio Vallicelli Design , the 150GT yacht boasts a number of unique features, including a 270-degree owner’s cabin located in the bow. She also offers 50 per cent more living space compared to other yachts of her size, according to the shipyard. 

Benetti Oasis 34M

Builder: Benetti Length: 34.4m

RWD -designed, the Oasis 34M is a model for "the modern-day owner" with its open-plan social spaces and signature Oasis Deck. This patented aft-deck design comes with opening balconies that, once extended over the water, are ideal for diving in, getting to grips with water toys, and boarding on or off a tender. Swedish footballer Zlatan Ibrahimović took delivery of the second hull in the series, named Unknown , in 2022.

Builder: Viking Length: 27.4m

Inspired by the previous Viking 92 and Viking 80 models, the sportfishing Viking 90 yacht has a streamlined profile with the option to have an enclosed or open bridge. There is also a one-piece wraparound enclosed bridge windshield, enhancing visibility. Delivered in 2023, this model is well-suited to serious anglers thanks to its 922-litre live well on the 224-square-metre cockpit, making it a boat that's worth seeing at FLIBS.

Sunseeker Ocean 182

Builder: Sunseeker Length: 27.1m

This model is poised to offer something "completely novel" to the British yard's existing Ocean range. Named after its gross tonnage, the Sunseeker Ocean 182 features a newly designed enclosed flybridge and a widebody hull that allows for a 7.2-metre beam and plenty of internal volume. Combine this with a single helm station on the upper deck and you have an open-plan yacht that allows for "easy transition from space to space".

80 Sunreef Power Eco

Builder: Sunreef Length: 23.8m

Known as the comfy cat with solar panels galore, the 80 Sunreef Power Sól is named after the Norse sun goddess and will be showing off her bronzed good looks in Fort Lauderdale. Its ultra-slim “solar skin” – composite-integrated solar panels – is built into the yacht's hull, bimini roof and superstructure, and it also features custom-engineered battery banks with a density of less than 5.2 kg per kWh. The catamaran uses this green technology for fuel-free cruising in total silence and can accommodate eight guests in a custom-tailored four-cabin layout.

Sanlorenzo SD90

Builder: Sanlorenzo Length: 27.3m

Building on the success of the SD96 and SD118, this entry-level model boasts a flexible configuration and optimised hull design. One-way glazing allows the windows on the main deck and lower deck to remain concealed, resulting in a more "harmonious" look, according to the yard. She's designed by Zuccon International and Patricia Urquiola, with Philippe Briand also contributing research into the yacht’s efficient form. 

Princess Y95

Builder: Princess Yachts Length: 29.1m

Making her way to North America for the first time is the flagship of Princess' new Y Class series, the Y95. Featuring exterior design by Pininfarina and Olesinski , it has a dramatically different layout to the X Class despite utilising the same hull structure and engineering platform. The change is largely seen in the series' expansive exterior spaces, including an open flybridge area with cleverly concealed crane, a flybridge helm and a raised pilothouse. The Y95 will be part of a five-yacht display that includes the F50, F55, Y85, and the show debut of its "super flybridge" model X80.

Builder: Bering Yachts Length: 29.1m

Making her world debut at FLIBS this year, Papillon is a steel-hulled, semi-custom explorer primed for prolonged bluewater trips. As such, particular attention was paid to “the crew members’ comfort and safety” according to Bering CEO Alexei Mikhailov, with spacious quarters that include a separate galley and crew resting mess. Her pale-grey hull and red bootstripe recall Bering's 44.2-metre flagship Heeus .

Azimut Grande 26M

Builder: Azimut Length: 26m

The Grande 26M touts a distinctive Alberto Mancini exterior, while interiors are the work of Achille Salvagni – the same pairing that produced the Grande 36M and Grande Trideck flagship. Part of Azimut's pioneering fleet of "Low Emission Yachts", her Large POD 4600 propulsion system, combined with a lightweight superstructure, delivers 20 per cent lower fuel emissions (and therefore CO2 emissions).

Alpha Custom Yachts Spritz 102

Builder: Alpha Custom Yachts Length: 31.1m

A World Superyacht Award -nominated series, the Spritz 102 exhibits the design work of Giorgio Cassetta and sees several standout features contained within an eight-metre beam. This includes a 2.2-metre-high ceiling, oversized windows and a tiered aft deck with a heated plunge pool and hydraulic platform, all cultivating a "Miami villa" feel on the water. There are only two Spritz 102's currently on the water – Vivace and Saint V and it is Vivace that will appear at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
