The MYS: the place to Sea

Created in 1991 by French entrepreneur Maurice Cohen, the MYS displays around one hundred unique and exceptional superyachts constructed by the world’s foremost shipbuilders. Along the docks where these prestigious vessels are moored, visitors will find a host of companies, shipbrokers, and other important yachting industry stakeholders.

The Monaco Yacht Show is globally renowned for the exceptional quality and impressive size of its superyachts. Of the hundred or so on display every year, around forty are being unveiled for the first time in their worldwide debut. The average length of the vessels is 50 metres, with some mega yachts exceeding 100 metres.

In recent years, the MYS has expanded its offering to include ultra-high end markets intrinsically linked to the exclusive world of superyachting, featuring luxury goods, cars and motorcycles, helicopters, and private jet constructors, amid the glitz and glamour of the Principality of Monaco.

Not to be missed...

At nightfall, the superyachts come alive in a different atmosphere, offering a spectacular illuminated display of a thousand lights.

Monaco Yacht Show: 2024 Guide

This is a complete guide to the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show, written by a Monaco resident who attends every year. This insider guide includes the locations, parties, ticketing, exhibitors, and insider tips.

Monaco Yacht Show: 2024 Guide - monaco travel yachts 1

The Monaco Yacht Show is the world’s leading yacht show. Held on the Mediterranean seaside in Port Hercule, Monaco , it is the largest in-water display of large yachts. An estimated 30,000 people come to see the more than €4.3 billion worth of yachts displayed in the port.

It is known as THE chicest way for billionaires to celebrate the end of summer. The biggest, newest, most innovative and most expensive yachts will be on display in this new edition of the Monaco Yacht Show.

The many superyachts are the center of attraction, but there will also be so much more on offer for the show’s opulent observers. As the quintessential playground for the rich, Monaco Yacht Show continues to impress its billionaire patrons, ensuring their return year after year.

There will always be super speedboats, helicopters, personal submarines, limousines, and luxury cars to see. Hotels, restaurants, and the Casino will also cater to the epicurean needs of the guests.

Monaco Yacht Show: 2024 Guide - guide monaco yacht show 1

The ‘Car Deck’ for the exhibits of classic and customized vehicles will display models of the best machinery for connoisseurs’ delight. The ‘Starboard’ is the main exhibition lounge of companies that offer products and services related to the superyacht lifestyle: destinations, luxury products, and arts. Both will be on Quai Antoine 1er.

Monaco Yacht Show Awards

VIP guests and yachting social elites will be invited to attend the Monaco Yacht Show Superyacht Awards , along with the show’s partners, yachting business top-players, and select media. The awards will be held at the Monaco Yacht Club and attendance is exclusively by personal invitation. The awards section of the evening lasts about 20 minutes, and the rest of the evening is a lively cocktail party with a DJ, food and open bar.

A panel of respectable yachting journalists will select the winners of the following categories:

  • The MYS/Rina Award
  • (Interiors) The MYS Interior Design Award
  • (Exteriors) The MYS Exterior Design Award
  • The MYS Finest New Superyacht Award

Monaco Yacht Summit

Yachting clients will also have a chance for an informative panel discussion regarding topics in superyachting, insights from industry experts and professionals in the Monaco Yacht Summit.

Monaco Yacht Show: 2024 Guide - monaco yacht show guide1

The event is exclusively reserved for yacht owners and charterers (and want to enhance their knowledge), prospective end-user clients and their representatives, and private wealth managers.

The Monaco Yacht Summit is held the day before the Yacht Show officially starts, at the Monaco Yacht Club . Attendance is based on pre-qualification by emailing [email protected]

Badges for the Monaco Yacht Show

In order to make the overall experience clearer to visitors and professionals, a three-category system is used. Discover badges are for yacht clients; Advise badges are for their advisors and consultants, and Connect badges are for trade visitors. The badges will show the profile of each visitor so that the right people can connect on sight. Buyers can therefore identify designers and builders at a glance, whilst their captains and reps can readily find equipment manufacturers, for example.

But for those with regular day passes to the show, you’ll need an appointment and be able to pass a check by the yacht representative to make sure you’re a serious potential buyer or charter customer.

Sapphire VIP Experience

If you’re in the market to buy a yacht and looking for more personalized experiences, ‘ Sapphire Experience ’ VIP tickets include exclusive activities at both the show and in Monaco for superyacht owners, charterers, and potential clients. VIP guests also have access to special courtesy cars provided by the Monaco Yacht Show to drive them around the city during their stay.

Getting your hands on these tickets comes with a premium price tag and you’ll need to get approved — about 80% of applicants for the Sapphire Experience are rejected. The VIP experience is limited to 200 people and only serious yacht-buyers are able to purchase these coveted passes.

Yacht Tours and Parties

Even those who’ve bought tickets won’t be allowed to tour many of the most exclusive yachts, nor attend the evening yacht parties, without being invited by the yacht companies and brokers. If you’re in the market for a yacht, make sure to view the exhibitor list and arrange tours of your favorite yachts in advance.

Monaco Yacht Show 2023 preview

With the 32nd edition of the monaco yacht show six weeks away, we take a look at what is in store for this year's attendees in monte carlo….

monte carlo yacht week

As the yacht list continues to grow, we will be covering entrants to the show in the lead-up to MYS 2023  in extensive detail. In the meantime, here are a few early highlights from this year's yacht list.

Fresh from an extensive refit earlier this year, 97m  Carinthia VII   from Lürssen will be available to view with Fraser Yachts .

monte carlo yacht week

Another Lürssen legend will be in attendance too. The 95m Kismet   is available courtesy of Cecil Wright & Partners , with the asking price of a cool €149m.

monte carlo yacht week

The iconic Savannah   will also be in attendance with Edmiston . Launched by Feadshi p ’s De Vries shipyard in 2015, Savannah is one of the most spectacular vessels afloat.

monte carlo yacht week

This year’s show will also have a large focus on the industry’s environmental consciousness, with last year's Sustainability Hub making a return to Monte Carlo. Made in collaboration with Water Revolution Foundation and sponsored by Siemens Energy, the 200m² exhibition space of Darse Sud is dedicated to nautical equipment and technology with innovative and eco-friendly solutions.

“As organizers, we're actively taking steps to reduce the show's carbon footprint through a carbon neutrality programme that's backed by the Principality of Monaco and Informa Group,” Johan Pizzardini,  Head of Communications and Media, MYS tells SuperyachtNews.  “What's impressive is that these sustainable advancements aren't just a passing trend – they're being embraced by everyone involved in yacht building and seamlessly integrated into recent launches.”

“The Monaco Yacht Show has been at the forefront of raising environmental awareness since joining the Carbon Neutral program in 2005,” says Gaëlle Tallarida, Managing Director of the MYS. “Our pioneering approach to sustainability led to the establishment of the Sustainability Hub last year. As one of the industry's major voices, we fully embrace our social responsibility.”

monte carlo yacht week

Participants are selected in collaboration with Water Revolution Foundation to ensure that only eligible companies with genuine and viable sustainable solutions are included in the exhibition. Robert Van Tol, Executive Director, Water Revolution Foundation says that the return of the initiative highlights the growing momentum in yachting towards more sustainable practices.

“The show has been supportive of the vetting criteria, demonstrating its leading position in the field, and utilising Water Revolution Foundation's expertise in sustainability,” says Van Tol. “This exhibition area is designed to showcase technologies that bring concrete improvements to the world of yachting, including the health of the oceans. We aim to support exhibitors, service providers, and visitors alike in finding viable solutions to environmental challenges."

monte carlo yacht week

The Adventure Area has made a return too, with a thematic exhibition dedicated to adventure, exploration, and leisure yachting activities. The area will feature an extensive showcase of superyacht tenders, luxurious off-road vehicles, cutting-edge water toys, high-tech gadgets and helicopters to the most remote corners of our planet.

The exhibition will again span across two locations within Port Hercule. At Quai Antoine Ier, visitors will find the display of luxury vehicles, tenders, and water toys while Quai Jarlan will display around twenty tenders annually as the second site.

“With a generational shift taking place in the superyacht world, a younger audience is embracing excitement, and the most successful charters are now those offering an array of toys,” adds Pizzardini. “This adventure-focused spotlight aligns seamlessly with the changing preferences of superyacht enthusiasts, further solidifying the Monaco Yacht Show's status as an essential platform. With the inclusion of top-tier exhibitor offerings, the show continues to lead the way.”

Seven New Launches at the Monaco Superyacht Show

The Monaco Yacht Show returns on Wednesday, with pent-up demand among owners and builders after a year of either canceled or smaller boat shows. The event has been modified this year into a more exclusive format aimed at connecting buyers and builders, but the show will still have 80 superyachts in the water, including 32 launches, with a total of 350 exhibitors. Robb Report will provide updates from the Monte Carlo quays, but for now, here’s a preview of seven great yachts making their public debuts.

Feadship ‘Viva’ (308 Feet)

Feadship's 308-foot "Viva" was one of more than 200 yachts to launch this year.

The latest custom delivery from Dutch shipyard Feadship, and the show’s largest global premiere, centers around sustainability. The hybrid propulsion system requested by the owner will allow 308-foot Viva to travel at a comfortable 12 knots on diesel-electric power, with much lower fuel consumption and emissions. A key exterior feature from designers Studio De Voogt and Azure are three tiers of wraparound glass on the superstructure, providing clear lines of sight from anywhere on board.

Baltic 146 ‘Path’ (146 Feet)

monte carlo yacht week

This 146-foot sloop by Baltic Yachts is designed for both circumnavigating the globe and competitive racing. The third-largest yacht by volume from the Finnish shipyard was commissioned by an owner with “global ambitions,” who plans to travel the world in style. His plans will be facilitated by Path ’s advanced composite construction, complemented by a lifting keel, twin rudders and beautiful interior, with a large salon, accommodations for 18 and full-beam owner’s suite.

Heesen ‘Moskito’ (180 Feet)

monte carlo yacht week

If you’d like to try fuel-efficient cruising in balmy Bahamian waters, then Heesen’s 180-foot Moskito is the new-build yacht to charter. A fast displacement hull form (FDHF) designed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects means the steel-hulled, IMO-tier III compliant yacht is able to reach speeds of 15.5 knots, but have a range of 4,500 nautical miles at 13 knots. Moskito ’s large interior volume of 760 gross tons includes an 883-square-foot master suite, full-beam sky lounge and main salon. A lower-deck spa is just a few steps from the ocean.

Rossinavi ‘Polaris’ (230 Feet)

monte carlo yacht week

Polaris is a boat with intent. The steel-hulled 230-foot hybrid design is Italian shipyard Rossinavi’s largest yacht yet, readied for extreme polar regions and transatlantic adventure, but with a more contemporary profile than traditional explorer yachts. She’s set to travel with flair, too, thanks to two waterfalls (one on the owner’s private terrace), a soundproof cinema and huge wellness center.

Damen ‘Time Off’ (182 Feet)

monte carlo yacht week

If ever there was a yacht support vessel suited to James Bond, it’s Time Off . The seriously stylish 182-footer—the ninth hull in Damen’s YS 5009 182-foot shadow vessel series—has a large multipurpose main deck hangar designed with submersible, dive operations and vehicle garage (for that all-important Aston Martin). A new accommodation layout welcomes seven guests, four staff, plus crew and technical upgrades for the ultimate package.

Sanlorenzo 500EXP (155 Feet)

monte carlo yacht week

Sanlorenzo’s 155-foot 500EXP is all about the aft deck. This evolution of the smaller 460EXP has enough space to land a small helicopter and carry a considerable amount of water toys, including a three-person submersible, for an extra thrill factor. Dropdown balconies extend the already significant beach club, creating a continuous space for close-to-the-water action.

Nautor’s Swan Swan120 (120 Feet)

monte carlo yacht week

The Swan120 is a bluewater sailing yacht with the performance to ignite interest from seasoned sailors and the space typically found on motoryachts. This is epitomized by the large dropdown teak-decked swim platform with a garage large enough to hold a 15-foot tender plus water toys. The 120-foot maxi’s exterior was designed by German Frers and features a nautical-inspired interior by Italian architect Misa Poggi.

The Most Impressive Superyachts at the Monaco Yacht Show

Following a summer of record demand this year’s event was glitzier than ever.

By Irenie Forshaw

Luisine

Each September, thousands of yacht builders, designers and owners descend on Port Hercule for the Monaco Yacht Show. It is here, in the heart of the picturesque Côte d’Azur, that boat lovers make their annual pilgrimage to catch a glimpse of the world’s newest – and most exciting – vessels.

This year, the hotly anticipated event took place between September 28 and October 1. And, following a summer of record demand for superyachts spurred by the pandemic, the 2022 iteration was bigger and glitzier than ever.

With over 600 exhibitors showcasing 125 superyachts, there was no shortage of incredible boats on display. So, whether you’re considering taking the plunge and purchasing a yacht of your own, or you’re simply here to marvel at the latest builds, we’ve rounded up the most impressive vessels on display at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show.

Project TIME

Project TIME yacht exterior

Kicking off our list of the biggest reveals at the Monaco Yacht Show is Project TIME. The 282-ft explorer yacht concept is the brainchild of German shipbuilder Abeking & Rasmussen and Valentin Design.

Suited for cold and warm water expeditions, the ship has been designed to travel everywhere from Antarctica to the South Pacific Islands. Powered by a diesel-electric propulsion system, Project Time would deliver a maximum speed of 16 knots, with a cruising speed of 14 knots, and a range of 5,000 nautical miles.

Boasting a helipad platform, submarine, two lounges and even an onboard German brewery, this is no ordinary yacht. The extravagant vessel also features an extra wide owner’s duplex suite complete with two marble bathrooms and an expansive balcony.

Dutch shipyard Feadship unveiled its eleventh cutting-edge yacht concept at the show, Slice. Studio de Voogt was brought in for the project, with the ambitious goal of turning “the inside out and the outside in”. To this end, the design team fitted the yacht with a glass strip running from bow to stern, bathing the decks in natural light.

Unlike many yachts that are plagued by gloomy corridors and claustrophobic living spaces, the interiors onboard Slice are bright and breezy. At the heart of the yacht on the main deck is a sprawling 750-sq-ft atrium flanked by cascading circular balconies, which, according to Feadship is so much more than a lobby and instead becomes “a destination in its own right”.

In a sign of Feadship’s dedication to using the latest technology, Slice would be fitted with a propulsion system powered by four dual-fuel generators modified to run on both methanol and non-fossil diesel (hydrotreated vegetable oil), with the generated power delivered to two Azimuthing pods.

Luisine yacht with helicopter

Our list of the best superyachts on display at Monaco Yacht Show would not be complete without mentioning Lusine. The 196-ft vessel is Heesen’s largest ever steel Fast Displacement motor yacht and features a sleek silhouette with black thermo-bonded dark glass windows to keep out prying eyes.

Perhaps most impressive of all is the touch-and-go helipad on the sundeck which can accommodate an Airbus H-135. Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design was brought in to mastermind the lavish interiors. Lusine comfortably sleeps twelve set across six spacious staterooms, each of which has been thoughtfully adorned with bespoke furnishings and elegant sculptures. The most exclusive abode is the owner’s apartment located up on the bridge deck which has its own staircase to ensure total privacy.

Come Together

Come Together yacht

Next up on our list is the first vessel in Amel’s new 60 Limited Edition Series. Designed by Espen Oeino International and built in the Netherlands, Come Together was delivered to her owner this Spring for an estimated €69.5m (approx. $68.6m).

The gleaming new superyacht spans 196 ft and features a teak deck, steel hull and aluminum superstructure. Winch Design is responsible for the laid-back yet elegant interiors that are reminiscent of a relaxed family home in shades of walnut and bronze.

Come Together has been fitted with a hybrid propulsion system for smooth, quiet cruising and features an expansive sun deck and 157-ft swim platform.

XV67 yacht exterior

Winch Design and Heesen also unveiled XV67 at the Monaco Yacht Show – a brand new explorer yacht concept that builds on their XVenture design concept from four years ago.

The 187-ft vessel has been given a refreshed layout and updated with the latest technology. While the robust steel hull remains, she is 32 ft longer than her predecessor and the tenders have been moved to the open aft deck freeing up space for even larger guest cabins and an expansive three-story master stateroom.

As seems to be becoming commonplace onboard the newest superyachts, VX67 boasts a helipad (that functions as an al fresco cinema when not in use) and has space to store a personal submarine on deck.

heesenyachts.com , winchdesign.com

Meyer took the Monaco Yacht Show as an opportunity to share the very first renderings of its sustainable One50 concept. The vessel – which was first unveiled a year ago at the 2021 show – is powered electrically by 25,000 kilowatts enabling her to reach a maximum speed of 23 knots.

After a year long wait to see what One50 could like, the renderings certainly don’t disappoint. Wellness is at the heart of the design; the 492-ft yacht features a retractable swimming pool, massage parlour, sauna and hammam. Other highlights include the top deck which is reserved entirely for the owner’s use and boasts an enormous suite complete with a private terrace.

Four Seasons Yacht

four seasons yacht rendering

Last but by no means least on our roundup of the most impressive vessels unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show is Four Seasons’ first branded yacht . Slated to set sail at the end of 2025, no expense has been spared by the luxury hotel group, with each suite costing a cool $4.2m to build.

The gigantic vessel will be 679 ft long and 88.6 ft wide with 14 decks and a total of 95 rooms and suites. While the initial launch is just one yacht, the order includes the option to add two further ships in the future – amounting to an eyewatering $1.1bn.

Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri will build the Four Seasons yacht in Trieste before Tillberg Design of Sweden and London-based Martin Brudnizki are brought in to put their stamp on the interiors. As you would expect from the luxury hotel brand, the yacht will feature an array of facilities including gourmet restaurants, bars, and a full-service spa.
