Man of Steel is spacious and packed with things to do making her fully primed for guests seeking a luxury charter at sea.

The 86.01m/282'2" motor yacht 'Man of Steel' by the Dutch shipyard Oceanco offers flexible accommodation for up to 12 guests in 7 cabins and features interior styling by Italian designer Nuvolari Lenard.

With an abundance of space and superlative amenities across her luxurious decks, you'll be spoilt for choice on a luxury yacht charter aboard Man of Steel. She is equipped with a dancefloor, spa, elevator, underwater lights, beach club and gym.

Exterior Design

Seven Seas features a trademark Oceanco design concept – an infinity pool on the aft deck that can be conveniently transformed into a helipad or entertaining area, fist seen on the multi-award winning superyacht Alfa Nero.

Interior Design

Seven Seas has a contemporary interior blending walnut, teak and rosewood interspersed with natural materials, fabrics and colours. The upper deck forward of the atrium, exclusively for the owner’s use, extends outside past a plunge pool to a foredeck which, thanks to a mooring deck below, is free of any equipment. This area is totally private with access only from the owner’s suite. The main salon is fully equipped with a professional projection system and a 5 x 2m screen which, coupled with two rows of raked seating, will transform into a screening theatre. Adjacent to the main salon is an imposing 250m² area which can host everything from casual al fresco dining to a black-tie gala. Whilst using this dining area, guests enjoy a skylight which may be dimmed by LCD. On the main deck there are four large guest suites and a full width VIP stateroom; separate on the terrace deck is a secluded VIP stateroom. Formal circular dining seats 14 located on aft upper deck. She also has a fully equipped gym/spa.

Guest Accommodation

Built in 2010, Man of Steel offers guest accommodation for up to 12 guests in 7 suites comprising a master suite, two VIP cabins, three double cabins and one twin cabin. The master suite incorporates its own study and dressing room. A crew of twenty-eight, who specialize in creating exceptional charters, are on hand to provide guests with a yacht charter vacation to remember.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

Keeping comfortable and entertained on Man of Steel is easy thanks to the available amenities including a dancefloor where you and your guests can celebrate in style. You can recreate the full cinema experience while at sea with the included movie theatre or elsewhere, kick back and relax in the well-appointed spa. The swimming pool is perfect for exercising or admiring a romantic sunrise. Head to the beach club and take advantage of indoor-outdoor living and entertaining plus maintain your fitness routine and work out in the well-equipped gym. Retreat to the deck jacuzzi and soak up the scenery.

Man of Steel benefits from some excellent features to improve your charter including an elevator, making any part of the yacht quickly and easily accessible. Make your evenings more memorable with stunning underwater lights or elsewhere, whether you want to work, use social media or stream movies on board this yacht, you can with Wi-Fi connectivity. Built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, she offers greater on-board space and is more stable when at anchor thanks to her full-displacement hull. Powered by twin MTU engines, she comfortably cruises at 15 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 19 knots with a range of up to 5,200 nautical miles from her 292,000 litre fuel tanks at cruising speed. Man of Steel features at-anchor stabilizers providing exceptional comfort levels.

Man of Steel knows a thing or two about fun on the water, with a selection of water toys and accessories for you and your guests to enjoy whilst on charter. You'll be loving the huge adrenaline rush as you zip over the water on one of the four SeaDoo GTX 300 WaveRunners. Discover the world beneath the surface of the ocean with the dive gear and compressor. Additionally, there are four F5 SEABOBs providing agile cruising and diving. When it comes to Tenders, Man of Steel has you covered - with four tenders, including a 10.5m/34'5" Hodgdon Limo Tender.

Founded in 1987, Oceanco is a shipyard that strives to do things differently, building custom superyachts that each stand out as iconic additions to the world superyacht fleet. After she hit the water in 2010, the 86-metre Oceanco , Man of Steel (ex Seven Seas ), remained shrouded in secrecy. She cruised the world, teasing onlookers as to what lies beneath the surface, and with an exterior so commanding, people were longing to see her interiors. In 2021, the superyacht was sold , renamed and after more than 10 years in secrecy, was introduced to the charter market revealing her remarkable interiors and a long list of top charter credentials.

To this day, Man of Steel represents an exciting period for Dutch superyacht builder, Oceanco, with predecessors including 85.5-metre Sunrays (2010) , 85.5-metre Vibrant Curiosity (2009), and 75.5-metre Wheels (2008), all who had the industry’s attention.

Life on board Man of Steel

Accommodation on board is for 12 comprising the owner’s suite on a private deck with a Jacuzzi, a full-beam VIP, three doubles and one triple cabin on the main deck and a further sea cabin on the lower deck, which is big enough for three. The owner's cabin benefits from a huge walk-in wardrobe with white carpets, as well as an oak-panelled office for those who need to check in during their stay. The crew quarters meanwhile allow for a staff of 28.

Guests can arrive in style thanks to the touch-and-go helipad, and then spend their days on deck soaking up the sunshine in her two pools surrounded by sun loungers and al fresco dining spaces. With an aft deck that offers a colossal 250 square metres of space, it's easy to see why Man of Steel is an entertainer at heart.

Yahtzee Rules

The objective of YAHTZEE is to get as many points as possible by rolling five dice and getting certain combinations of dice.

In each turn a player may throw the dice up to three times. A player doesn't have to roll all five dice on the second and third throw of a round, he may put as many dice as he wants to the side and only throw the ones that don't have the numbers he's trying to get. For example, a player throws and gets 1,3,3,4,6. He decides he want to try for the large straight, 1,2,3,4,5. So, he puts 1,3,4 to the side and only throws 3 and 6 again, hoping to get 2 and 5.

In this game you click on the dice you want to keep. They will be moved down and will not be thrown the next time you press the 'Roll Dice' button. If you decide after the second throw in a turn that you don't want to keep the same dice before the third throw then you can click them again and they will move back to the table and be thrown in the third throw.

Upper section combinations

• Ones: Get as many ones as possible.
• Twos: Get as many twos as possible.
• Threes: Get as many threes as possible.
• Fours: Get as many fours as possible.
• Fives: Get as many fives as possible.
• Sixes: Get as many sixes as possible.

For the six combinations above the score for each of them is the sum of dice of the right kind. E.g. if you get 1,3,3,3,5 and you choose Threes you will get 3*3 = 9 points. The sum of all the above combinations is calculated and if it is 63 or more, the player will get a bonus of 35 points. On average a player needs three of each to reach 63, but it is not required to get three of each exactly, it is perfectly OK to have five sixes, and zero ones for example, as long as the sum is 63 or more the bonus will be awarded.

Lower section combinations

• Three of a kind: Get three dice with the same number. Points are the sum all dice (not just the three of a kind).
• Four of a kind: Get four dice with the same number. Points are the sum all dice (not just the four of a kind).
• Full house: Get three of a kind and a pair, e.g. 1,1,3,3,3 or 3,3,3,6,6. Scores 25 points.
• Small straight: Get four sequential dice, 1,2,3,4 or 2,3,4,5 or 3,4,5,6. Scores 30 points.
• Large straight: Get five sequential dice, 1,2,3,4,5 or 2,3,4,5,6. Scores 40 points.
• Chance: You can put anything into chance, it's basically like a garbage can when you don't have anything else you can use the dice for. The score is simply the sum of the dice.
• YAHTZEE: Five of a kind. Scores 50 points. You can optionally get multiple Yahtzees, see below for details.

Multiple Yahtzees

The rules around multiple Yahtzees are a bit complex. There are a couple of different cases:

• You already have a Yahtzee: You get a 100 bonus points in the Yahtzee box, but you also have a joker, which means that you can choose another move for the Yahtzee you just got. If the number you got yahtzees with has not been filled out in the upper section, then you must choose that. E.g. if you get an additional Yahtzee with 2's, and you haven't filled out the 2's in the upper section then you must choose that, and get 10 points for it. If the upper section box is already filled then you can choose any of the lower region boxes, and they will be scored as normal. Yahtzee is a superset of 3 of a kind, 4 of a kind, full house and chance, but you can also choose small or large straight and will get the normal 30 and 40 points for those.

Multiplayer

Note: To keep things simple and even as possible, all multiplayer games allow multiple Yahtzees.

Strategy tips

Try to get the bonus. Focus on getting good throws with fives and sixes, then it won't matter if you put 0 in the ones or twos. You can always put in 0 for a combination if you don't have it, even if you have some other combination. E.g. if you had 2,3,4,5,6 and the only things you had left were Ones and Sixes, then it would be better to put 0 in Ones than to put only 6 in Sixes.

In the last couple of years I've made a number of simple online card games, including Hearts and Spades . After making seven card games and three solitaires I figured it was time to try something else, so I decided to make YAHTZEE (or YATZY as it's known here in Denmark, where the rules and scoring are also slightly different). It's been a fun game to make, and I'm looking forward to seeing how well Bill will play against human opponents :)

Sailors met by family on dry land after yacht rescue in 'horrendous conditions'

A man and a woman have returned to dry land after being rescued from a yacht on the New South Wales South Coast.

Brett and Lisa were saved during a multi-agency rescue on Tuesday morning, before docking in Sydney on Tuesday.

Lisa, 48, said she was feeling "safe and secure and happy" after the ordeal.

A man and woman have expressed gratitude for being back on dry land after they were rescued from a stricken yacht on the New South Wales South Coast on Tuesday. 

Brett, 60, and Lisa, 48, were found "safe and sound" about 170 nautical miles east of Nowra at around 7:30am.

"I am so pleased to say that this rescue operation has been a resounding success," NSW Marine Area Command Acting Superintendent Siobhan Munro said.

The rescue mission was launched off the South Coast after a distress beacon was activated about 1pm on Monday.

At the time, the yacht was 85 nautical miles from Sydney, and had drifted 160 nautical miles offshore by the time emergency services reached Brett and Lisa.

"That's how strong the winds were and how fast it was, pushing the vessel away," NSW Marine Area Command Sergeant Ryan Spong said of the conditions.

The 19-metre vessel, Spirit of Mateship, had experienced mechanical failure and was taking on water, Ben Flight from the Australian Maritime Safety Authority said on Tuesday morning.

It's believed Brett and Lisa left Jervis Bay on Sunday or Monday for Sydney, NSW Marine Area Command Chief Inspector Anthony Brazzill said.

On Tuesday, a multi-agency operation retrieved the pair "in some quite horrendous conditions", Sergeant Spong added.

The pair were taken on board NSW Water Police vessel Nemesis, and thanked everyone involved in their return to Sydney.

Lisa said she was feeling "safe and secure and happy" despite not getting much sleep last night.

The 60-year-old man and 48-year-old woman were greeted by family members at the NSW Police Area Command in Balmain. ( ABC News: Victoria Pengilley )

Brett said the waiting was "alright" and that the boat was "safe" and "more than seaworthy".

"It was more we were tired, seasick, we couldn't continue any further," he said.

"That was a decision we made to call ... it could have got worse ... I think we made the right decision."

The Nemesis passed through Sydney Heads just before 6pm, before the pair were met by family in Balmain half an hour later.

Spirit of Mateship, which has raced in several Sydney to Hobart yacht races, was abandoned at sea.

Two of the people who died on tech tycoon Mike Lynch’s yacht, which capsized and sank off the coast of Sicily on August 19, allegedly died from asphyxiation when they ran out of oxygen in the cabins.

According to a source, Chris Morvillo, a Clifford Chance lawyer, and his wife, Neda, “did not have water in their lungs, trachea, and stomach”.

The source, who described the deaths of the victims as “death by confinement”, confirmed the version provided by the firefighters’ divers and the coastguard, who had stated that the passengers trapped in the cabins had probably attempted to consume the oxygen in the air bubble that had formed as the boat sank.

Despite the clear evidence from the initial examinations, the source added that “the results are still provisional, as histological exams on samples taken from the bodies will be needed to ascertain the cause of death”.

The superyacht Bayesian sank off the coast of Porticello, a fishing village near Palermo, when the area was hit by violent storms. Seven people died, including tech entrepreneur Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter, Hannah.

A total of 15 people survived, including Lynch’s wife, whose company owned the Bayesian. It is thought that it was struck by a downburst, a gusty wind associated with storms.

Italian prosecutors have placed three crew members under investigation for manslaughter and shipwreck, including the captain of the yacht, James Cutfield.

According to the local fire rescue service, “the bodies were found in the highest part of the ship, as it was clear people were trying to hide in cabins on the left-hand side”. The ship landed on its right-hand side after it sank, plunging to a depth of about 50 metres.

Officials believe the passengers sought escape routes, reaching the opposite side of the vessel they were in. The space to breathe was quickly shrinking as the water rapidly flooded the rooms and the air bubble was becoming increasingly toxic due to the rise in carbon dioxide.

The body of Ricardo Thomas, the onboard cook for the yacht Bayesian, was found in the water near the vessel. Five of the victims were reportedly found in different rooms from those indicated by survivors.

According to La Repubblica, the bodies of Morgan Stanley International’s chair, Jonathan Bloomer, and his wife, Judy, are also believed to have died from suffocation, with the results of their autopsies reportedly identical to those of the Morvillo spouses.

The head forensic doctors at the Policlinico hospital in Palermo, who is carrying out autopsies on the bodies of the victims, declined to comment.

The Bands and the Fans Were Fake. The $10 Million Was Real.

Federal prosecutors charged a North Carolina musician with gaming the system to win royalties from streaming services including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.

A North Carolina man used artificial intelligence to create hundreds of thousands of fake songs by fake bands, then put them on streaming services where they were enjoyed by an audience of fake listeners, prosecutors said.

Penny by penny, he collected a very real $10 million, they said when they charged him with fraud.

The man, Michael Smith, 52, was accused in a federal indictment unsealed on Wednesday of stealing royalty payments from digital streaming platforms for seven years. Mr. Smith, a flesh-and-blood musician, produced A.I.-generated music and played it billions of times using bots he had programmed, according to the indictment.

The supposed artists had names like “Callous Post,” “Calorie Screams” and “Calvinistic Dust” and produced tunes like “Zygotic Washstands,” “Zymotechnical” and “Zygophyllum” that were top performers on Amazon Music, Apple Music and Spotify, according to the charges.

“Smith stole millions in royalties that should have been paid to musicians, songwriters, and other rights holders whose songs were legitimately streamed,” Damian Williams, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, said in a statement on Wednesday.

Mr. Smith was arrested on Wednesday and faces charges including wire fraud and money laundering conspiracy. If convicted, he faces a maximum of 20 years in prison for each charge.

Mr. Smith’s lawyer could not immediately be identified on Wednesday. Mr. Smith could not immediately be reached at a number listed under his name in Cornelius, N.C., near Charlotte.

His is the first criminal case involving musical streaming manipulation brought by Mr. Williams’s office. Commercial success in the industry is increasingly measured in digital listens, despite the paltry compensation that streaming companies offer artists, who rely more and more on concert appearances to bring in money.

But modern popular music is an overwhelmingly digital affair, with artists using computers to create beeps, bloops and beats — and to patch over the imperfections of their singing voices. Fans no longer have to possess heavy crates of vinyl or finicky cassette tapes, but receive sound in ephemeral files of ones and zeros.

Prosecutors said Mr. Smith had cut out the human element almost entirely.

His scheme involved a circular process, they said. First, Mr. Smith created thousands of fake streaming accounts using email addresses he had purchased online. He had as many as 10,000, even outsourcing the task to paid co-conspirators when creating the accounts became too much work.

He then created software to stream his music on loops from different computers, giving the appearance of individual listeners tuning in from different places, prosecutors said.

According to a financial breakdown that he emailed himself in 2017 — the year that prosecutors say he began the scheme — Mr. Smith calculated that he could stream his songs 661,440 times each day. At that rate, he estimated, he could bring in daily royalty payments of $3,307.20 and as much as $1.2 million in a year.

To evade detection by streaming platforms, prosecutors said, Mr. Smith spread his activity across a huge number of fake songs, never streaming a single composition too many times.

Mr. Smith had initially uploaded music he wrote himself to the platforms, but after determining that his catalog was too small to produce any real spoils, he tried to increase the number of songs he had access to, prosecutors said. First, he used a catalog belonging to a music publicist, and later he tried to sell his services to other musicians who would pay him to play their music or hand over a chunk of their royalties when he did. Both plans fell short, prosecutors said.

In 2018, they said, Mr. Smith teamed up with the robots.

Joining forces with the chief executive of an A.I. music company and a music promoter, neither of whom was named in the indictment, Mr. Smith created a staggering catalog of bogus songs, uploading thousands to streaming platforms each week.

“Keep in mind what we’re doing musically here,” Mr. Smith wrote in a 2019 email to the A.I. executive. “This is not ‘music,’ it’s ‘instant music’ ;).”

The compositions would arrive to Mr. Smith with file names like “n_7a2b2d74-1621- 4385-895d-ble4af78d860.mp3.” Then, he generated plausible names for the songs and their artists: “Zygopteris,” “Zygopteron,” “Zygopterous,” “Zygosporic” and so on.

In a world with real bands called Dirty Projectors, Neutral Milk Hotel and Sunn 0))), real albums like “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot” and real songs like “MMMBop,” the titles did not stand out.

By June 2019, Mr. Smith was earning about $110,000 each month, with a portion going to co-conspirators, the indictment said. In an email in February of this year, Mr. Smith bragged that he had reached 4 billion streams and $12 million in royalties since 2019.

Mr. Smith, prosecutors said, flatly lied to music distribution companies. In October 2018, one company informed Mr. Smith that it had received “multiple reports of streaming abuse” and that it planned to remove his songs from all stores.

Mr. Smith, the charges said, responded with a strongly worded denial:

“This is absolutely wrong and crazy!,” he said. “There is absolutely no fraud going on whatsoever! How can I appeal this?”
