A boat with a BN of 1.6 or greater is a boat that will be reefed often in offshore cruising. Derek Harvey, "Multihulls for Cruising and Racing", International Marine, Camden, Maine, 1991, states that a BN of 1 is generally accepted as the dividing line between so-called slow and fast multihulls.
The C&C 36 is a 10.9 m (36 ft) monohull sailboat designed by C&C Design and built by C&C Yachts starting in 1977 . It is a sloop-rigged boat with a fin keel and a spade rudder. It has a fiberglass hull and deck, with a balsa core for stiffness and insulation. The boat has a sleek and elegant profile, with a reverse transom and a low cabin top.
The old 36 had a DWL of 27 feet, 9 inches and the new 36 has a DWL of 30 feet for an additional 2.25 feet. This extra DWL brings the D/L down from 251 to 198.4. The plan view shows that while the beams are similar, the distribution of beam is distinctly different. The old 36 was still trying to keep its measured IOR length down with what we ...
The C&C 36-1 is a small recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with wood trim. It has a masthead sloop rig, an internally-mounted spade-type rudder and a fixed fin keel. The fixed fin keel version displaces 12,000 lb (5,443 kg) and carries 5,000 lb (2,268 kg) of lead ballast. The centerboard version displaces 12,800 lb (5,806 ...
The C&C 36 1 is a 35.67ft masthead sloop designed by C&C and built in fiberglass by C&C Yachts since 1977. The C&C 36 1 is a moderate weight sailboat which is a good performer. It is very stable / stiff and has a low righting capability if capsized. It is best suited as a coastal cruiser.
A measure of the stability of a boat's hull that suggests how well a monohull will stand up to its sails. The ballast displacement ratio indicates how much of the weight of a boat is placed for maximum stability against capsizing and is an indicator of stiffness and resistance to capsize. Formula. 41.67. <40: less stiff, less powerful.
The C&C 34/36 series are all recreational keelboats, built predominantly of fiberglass, with wood trim. They all have masthead sloop rigs, reverse transoms and internally-mounted spade-type rudders. The line was introduced in 1989. The series includes the "+" version, which is a club racer-cruiser, the "R" version, which is a deep keel racing model and a later "XL" model, which combined the ...
The immersion rate is defined as the weight required to sink the boat a certain level. The immersion rate for C&C 36 Mk I is about 198 kg/cm, alternatively 1114 lbs/inch. Meaning: if you load 198 kg cargo on the boat then it will sink 1 cm. Alternatively, if you load 1114 lbs cargo on the boat it will sink 1 inch.

The C&C 36 has a similar bow, although somewhat less accentuated. In plan view the C&C 36 is quite beamy at 11'6". This beam is carried into the ends much more so than in earlier IOR yachts. Rudder and keel are again typical C&C shapes. Note the large plan form of the rudder. C&C has always had a mind of its own relative to keel design and the ...
C&C Yachts was formed in 1969, when Canadian boat builders Belleville Marine Yard, Hinterhoeller Ltd. and Bruckmann Manufacturing joined forces with the design firm of Cuthbertson & Cassian Ltd. New capital was raised through a stock offering on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Although Ian Morch of Belleville Marine Yard was the first president, he resigned in 1971 taking the Belleville assets ...

The boat is likely well put together in general, though you should check to make sure the balsa core hasn't gotten overly wet in spots. There was a C&C 36 at our club, and it performed adequately.
By Bob Perry. August 25, 2000. This review gives us the opportunity to compare C&C's latest 36-foot offering, which is actually a progression of the C&C 34+, with the 1975 vintage C&C 36. Both boats share good looks. The old C&C 36 shows a deck that is typical of vintage C&C designs, with a shapely trunk fairing into a rounded bullet shape as ...
Cockpit of the C&C 36 Sailboat. The C&C 36 sailboat's machinery and electrical systems are laid out so you can actually work on them, unlike other boats I come across. The ship's mast has a well-rounded leading edge and is completely supported by Navtec rod rigging. The interior consists of separately molded modules for the forecastle, head ...
Ahh a 1980 model, from my experience with tradewinds 2 a c&c 40 of the same era is , the boat sail very well, i guess the 36 to, good windward ability, point very well upwind, easy at the helm, good balance if you dont push the boat to hard, i guess you fall in love with the hull lines, it have a sturdy and confy interior, the nav station for this size is a bonus, all the deck gear if is the ...
See C&C 34+R. Available in three versions: The "+" version is the 'racer-cruiser'. Wing keel option: Draft: 5.00'/1.52m Disp.: 12525 lbs./5681 kgs The "R" is a more race oriented version with a deeper keel.
