NACRA stands for North American Catamaran Racing Association. The first NACRA’s were designed and built by Tom Roland in California, USA. He established the Nacra name with the creation of the NACRA 5.2 and 18sq. Since then, NACRA catamarans have come from a number of builder around the world including NACRA Australia (beginning in 1985), and Performance Catamarans Inc. in California, USA,(2005) As of 2007, NACRA & PERFORMANCE SAILS was based in The Netherlands. I'm not familiar with the Nacra 450, but I'll make a couple comments on the Wave: From what I've read on these forums, the Wave's jib is pretty worthless, and may even hurt your pointing ability, because it disturbs the air on the main. That being said, my wife loves the Wave, because she doesn't have to tug on the jib sheets.
