The Hatteras 68 Convertible sports a 192-square-foot cockpit that includes a mezzanine deck for superior seating and amenities. The mezzanine houses double- size bait freezer, insulated storage tubs, tackle drawers, insulated drink storage and more. The mezzanine is designed in modular fashion, which allows each owner to customize the location of various components such as freezer, ice box or optional baitwell. Below the cockpit deck is a large, open lazarette accessible through the engine room hatch. The compartment provides an excellent location for equipment and gear storage, while an aft isolation bulkhead with door allows easy inspection of steering components. The engine room contains no space-stealing air boxes on the hull sides or air-induction vents on the exterior. That's because the 68 features a forced ventilation system that draws air from beneath the cockpit coaming.

The standard open flybridge arrangement offers wrap-around seating forward of the console along with a deep freeze and insulated chill box. The extended overhang is topped with two Murray Products helm chairs, though there is room (and a backing plate) for an optional third chair. A rear-facing jump seat provides quick access to the cockpit ladder. Hatteras' computer-based touch-screen system monitor is standard, and a generous electronics allowance will easily outfit the power-actuated electronics console. The pod-style helm station includes single-lever controls with emergency backup controls standard. 

The 68 Convertible is built on a solid fiberglass hull bottom with its convex hull shape, deep propeller tunnels, large props and deep reduction gears, the 68 will deliver a shallow draft and competitive performance.

OPEN-SPACE LIVING, ON TOP OF THE WORLD

The flybridge level is a unique open-air zone, presenting three separate but seamless habitats to be enjoyed with heightened privacy. Sunbathing in proximity of the wheelhouse forward, lunching or barbecuing with the informal luxe of an American bar, and socializing aft on sunpads or sofas, are all the experiences that the flybridge of the Fly 68 offers at a whole new level.

Sheer elegance, natural light and pure privacy.

With the living area set at the entrance, this closed-off galley, discretely posed to face the convertible dining area, is all about discovery. The ribbed wood and plexiglass concealing it let light filter through the ambience, echoing the aesthetic and function of a lantern. Hence, the warm and sophisticated solution is named Lanterna.

Modern feel, clean-cut look and convivial mood. Following the interior layout proposed for the Lanterna option, this version of the galley is more relaxed, its doorless physique allowing the sense of conviviality to connect every corner of the main deck as it opens directly onto the convertible dining room.

Contemporary cut, open-space style and informal touch. Suggesting a smooth connection between interior and exterior ambiences, this casual galley is placed at the entrace with a half-height window that expands the opening. In honest communication with the dedicated dining across, it serves seamlessly, leaving the forward living area enveloped in the soft charm of tranquil serenity.

AN ENHANCED SENSE OF SUITE-NESS

An authentic and refined feeling of wellbeing pervades the suite. The soft and edgeless design is elevated by a palette of muted colors and the carpeting’s plush presence. Stone-effect flooring leads the way to the entrance of the ensuite bathroom, conceptually evoking two ambiences yet expressing a spa-inspired atmosphere all around the expanded space.

Our advanced toolkit

Azimut’s pioneering use of carbon fiber lamination goes beyond pure performance. The Carbon Tech Generation offers expanded volumes onboard, while maintaining excellent dynamic stability and perfect handling. Preserving the yacht’s low center of gravity, the carbon fiber was focused on the upper parts of the yacht, lightening the laminated components by up to 30% and reducing the natural roll momentum up to 15%.

Automated interceptors optimize the trim at every speed to maintain ideal hydrodynamics for performance and efficiency, at the same time negating any lateral imbalance due to sidewinds or weight distribution. With the pilot’s peace of mind assured, the driving experience is simpler and more enjoyable.

The Joystick acts as an analog for the yacht, offering intuitive, one-handed control in every situation. When the yacht is stopped, moving the Joystick forward or back, side to side, and twisting clockwise or counter-clockwise activates the engines to mimic that motion. It’s the easiest way to pull off precise maneuvers.

When Joystick Driving is activated, the autopilot is immediately engaged. For easy course correction, the driver may briefly twist the Joystick for 1 degree in that direction or twist and hold for 10 degrees. The Autopilot keeps a forward course after the Joystick is released.

The custom-installed Garmin electronics have been integrated to control and monitor every onboard system: from engines and alarms, to bilge and water discharge pumps, tank levels and engine room ventilation, right through to the sound system and the air conditioning units. The system can be accessed onboard from both the interior and exterior helm stations and, with the mobile app, remotely from a tablet or smartphone.

Aircare Energy Saving completely refreshes the onboard atmosphere every two hours with filtered outside air, especially appreciated below deck. The decentralized system uses a dual-flow heat exchanger, so it can optimize both the temperature and the humidity of the incoming fresh air in each zone without increasing the parallel HVAC’s energy consumption. Meanwhile, the triple multilayered filter eliminates 98% of fine particles that pollute the air, such as pollen, dust mites, spores and even some bacteria.

This yacht’s design and engineering meet the highest standards for production recreational vessels. Azimut Yachts issues a declaration of the premium materials, advanced technology and rigorous testing procedures.

Owners have their eyes on next boat and are ready for offers.   She was built by Hatteras as 61' and was extended to 68' by the well renowned Roscioli Shipyard in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This extension was completed by the original owner upon purchasing her. The extension allowed for a larger salon, which allowed for the addition of a custom wet bar, the fuel capacity was increased to 1800 gallons, very spacious lazarette and enclosed air conditioned aft deck that doubles as an another salon area. The extension also resulted in better performance. Boat's Captain is available to provide details of maintenance and systems. Her paint looks great and her interior is beautiful. 2006 Hatteras 68 Enclosed Bridge Will Consider All Trades - Including Rental Property!  Eva VI is a 2006 Hatteras 68’ Enclosed Bridge Convertible Hatteras that is powered with Twin Caterpillar 1800hp & Twin 27.5kw generators. There are four staterooms with four heads along with a very large salon that has a U-shaped leather couch to port and a galley and dinette just forward of the salon. The interior staircase from the salon leads to the enclosed bridge. Eva VI offers a 217 square foot fishing cockpit along with a raised mezzanine. This area has teak flooring and a fighting chair. As you make your way from the mezzanine through a sliding door you enter into a 21’ 6” very wide salon. For a 68’ convertible or yacht this beam is extremely wide and offers great space. There is new carpet throughout. To the port has a large U-shaped new leather couch. The TV is to the starboard side and can be viewed in the down position while running or can be viewed in the up position. Just forward of the salon is the very large galley to the port. It is a U-shaped area with granite countertops. The dinette is to the starboard. Eva VI has four staterooms below with the master being mid ship and full beam. Large port hole windows, king size bed and access to the master head to the starboard side. Large walk in closet to the port. As you make your way out of the master there is a day head to the port side along with the port stateroom. This stateroom offers a single bunk and plenty of storage. To the starboard is a VIP stateroom with two singles that will slide together to make a larger bed. This stateroom offers it own private head and shower. Just forward is the bow stateroom that offers a bed centerline with walk around sides and plenty of storage throughout. This stateroom offers it own private head as well. Eva VI has an enclosed bridge that is access from the salon through an interior staircase or from the mezzanine where there is an aluminum ladder that is angled for easy access to the aft flybridge. The enclosed flybridge has an L-shaped raised seating area to the port with a granite triangle table. There are two riding seats to the port and starboard of the center line helm chair. The helm offers all the electronics necessary for any adventure. The large aft window goes up and down to allow fresh air into the bridge area and there are two opening hatches in the ceiling. The sliding door to the aft area of the flybridge offers a bench seating and an additional helm. Eva VI is located in Ft. Lauderdale and easy to see. This is one of those fishing yachts that raises fish and allows the owners to enjoy the interior and comforts of a motor yacht. The flybridge terrace is spacious: it offers a large relaxation area, an outdoor galley with a dining table, and a helm station with side sofas. You are free to navigate in the company of your guests, whilekeeping everything under control.

The aft cockpit is designed to enhance the social side of the boat. It connects easily to the galley thanks to the opening windows and the vanishing electric glass in the shared cabinet. What could be the result? A large open space, surrounded by water, ready for your enjoyment.

The main deck has been designed with comfort in mind and offers a 360-degree panorama.

With a beam of just over 30 feet and an interior volume of 499 GT, the B-50 also offers a generous amount of space onboard. The yacht can accommodate 12 guests across six large cabins. Located on a private deck, the scenic owner’s suite provides sweeping 270-degree views and opens to an outdoor lounge with a Jacuzzi.

The Jacuzzi isn’t the only water feature, either. The main deck aft centers around a striking 20-foot swimming pool that can double as a helipad. How? After all the water is drained, the bottom of the pool is raised until it is flush with the deck. This creates a touch-and-go landing pad that can facilitate comings and goings via chopper. The aft deck is also fitted with fold-out bulwarks that can be opened to create a larger lounge area.

Other notable amenities on the B-50 include a sheltered outdoor cinema at the rear of the upper deck, a gym with a fold-out balcony on the lower deck, a side garage with enough room for a tender and Jet Ski, and a hidden anchor deck with a drop-down hatch.

2 rescued from sinking 80-foot yacht off St. Augustine Beach, Florida

Two people were rescued Saturday after the luxury yacht they were on started sinking three miles off St. Augustine Beach, the U.S. Coast Guard reported.

The boat's operator reportedly told the Coast Guard the 80-foot Atlantis motor yacht took on water after striking an object. St. John's County Fire Rescue said in a Facebook post the yacht struck a dredge pipe piling .

According to the Coast Guard, the yacht's operator activated an emergency position indicating radio beacon which helped validate the vessel’s position.

St. John's County Fire Rescue and St. Augustine Police Department marine units assisted the Coast Guard by responding to the scene and rescuing both occupants from the yacht.

One of the boat's occupants was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, St. John's County Fire Rescue said.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partner agencies for their invaluable assistance during this case," U.S. Coast Guard Senior Chief Petty Officer Ricardo Santacana said.

“With the weather improving and mariners heading out onto the water, it's imperative for everyone to verify the presence of all necessary safety equipment aboard their vessel. This ensures that responders, as demonstrated in this case, can swiftly locate you and render assistance when an emergency arises.”

The boat's owner will arrange salvage, the Coast Guard said.

The incident is under investigation.

Boating accidents in Florida

Florida led the nation in registered boats , with 1,035,911 registered in 2023, according to a Florida Fish and Wildlife report.

Collisions with fixed objects were named as the leading cause in 659 boating accidents reported in Florida in 2023. The accidents resulted in 56 fatalities.

More recently, 15-year-old Ella Riley Adler was struck and killed by a boat in a hit-and-run while wakeboarding in Key Biscayne on May 11, 2024.

The driver of the boat was later identified as 78-year-old Carlos Guillermo Alonso , of Coral Gables. Alonso's attorney told USA TODAY he did not know he struck anyone on the water.
