Embraer Launches Skyacht One Lineage 1000E

In 1939, flamboyant California playboy George Whittell Jr. commissioned master boat builder John Hacker to create the Thunderbird, a huge luxury yacht that matched Whittell's polished DC-2. Inspired by that design, Embraer Executive Jets has reversed the dynamic with its Skyacht One – a luxury version of the Lineage 1000E business jet that draws on nautical design themes. Embraer teamed with "experiential designer" Eddie Sotto to develop the concept. The former Disney employee's work is said to "explore the boundaries of fantasy and technology."
The exterior of the Skyacht One features faux mahogany on the lower fuselage, evoking an oceangoing yacht. The interior is designed to replicate the yachting experience as well, with nautical-style seats and full-size berths for sleeping. Dark, rich-grained wood panels and bright metal clasps and trim combine with aqua-tinted carpeting to enhance the illusion of traveling on the water.
Referring to his work on Skyacht One, Sotto quotes Walt Disney: "It's kind of fun doing the impossible." Sotto adds, "Why should hand-made luxury only exist on your wrist, in an exotic car or on a yacht? With Skyacht One, 'Wow!' happens every time you see or touch something."

Finally: An affordable personal blimp
Skyacht Aircraft's steerable hot-air blimp should retail for less than $200,000.
It could be the 21st-century version of the Sunday drive: Blow up the hot-air blimp, take it for a spin, then fold it up and put it away.
Of course, that's assuming you've got $200,000 liquefying your Tiffany money clip.
The Personal Blimp from Skyacht Aircraft made its maiden voyage in late October, and although the company calls it a blimp, it's essentially a steerable hot-air balloon. It utilizes hot air in place of helium and is propelled by electric motors.
Though the cost may seem high for a leisure activity, consider that the average helium airship goes for well over $2 million. Plus, Skyacht is saving owners money in other ways--the blimp deflates and can be stored until next use. Translation: none of those irritating hangar rental fees.
Unfortunately, these won't be for sale until 2008 at least, and plan on having your pilot's license ready, though which class, exactly, is TBD by the FAA.
Also, I'm asking because I don't know: How many hours of flight time are required to drive something that resembles a Nerf football?

Skyacht One is now renowned as the most luxurious “flying yacht” in the world. At first, it was just a challenge to the designer Eddie Sotto: he had to create something unique. That is how Skyacht One was born, transposing the elegance and refinement of a yacht into a plane.
The Lineage 1000 E
To give birth to this unique interior, the Skyacht One was built in partnership with Embraer, the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer. This one has offered to Sotto an remarkable plane for his project: the Lineage 1000 E.
This aircraft and its 116m2 can reach 800km/h as a cruising speed and also has 8519 km autonomy. These great achievements will allow Sotto to rein his imagination concerning the Skyacht One ’s interior design.
Upon request, the luxurious and refined Skyacht One design can be adapted to any other aircrafts, smaller or bigger. Now let’s focus on this unique and unseen design.
Noble materials and luxurious design
The Skyacht One can offer a great number of luxurious amenities thanks to its huge area such as: conference room, main cabin with a grand sofa, cocktail bar, dining room and master suite with 4K screen and adjoining bathroom.
The finishes are carefully designed and first-choice materials were selected: teak, woodwork and hand painted “trompe l’oeil” mahogany “hull”, gold and platinum. The interior is made with high quality leather, inside marquetry is inspired by Italian 15 th century expertise and brass ceiling-lights have been inserted.
Many mythical objects from the navigation world have been integrated to Skyacht One as armillary spheres, Arabs Sextant, or a planetary clock from Ducal Palace’s Studiolo, Fornasetti rug…and the result is stunning! A smart lightening system changes the lights colours according to your desires and to the different moments of the day.
