Luxury yacht TATIANA was launched by Turkish shipyard Bilgin Yachts in February 2020, and at 80m/263ft it is the largest build from the shipyard to date. As the second Bilgin 263 model is sold and the third enters construction, it’s now possible to see the recently released imagery for TATIANA with reveals what has made this luxury yacht an instant success on the market even in such a tumultuous year.

The naval architecture and exterior styling both come from Unique Yacht Design, while H2 Yacht Design created her appealing interiors. The steel hull and aluminium superstructure have a masculine appearance created by sharp lines and a more traditional colour scheme of dark and light grey, most often associated with military vessels. With the increase in on board space comes a tendency to create a broad and bulky hull, however by elongating the deck areas M/Y TATIANA keeps a sleek and stylish profile that maximises space utilisation, particularly when adding swimming pools to the decks.

Outdoor living is prized, allowing the Owner and guests to savour every moment cruising in such destinations as the Mediterranean charter grounds, taking in the beauty of the Turkish Riviera and the Dalmatian Coast before cruising on to the heart of the summer social scene along the French Riviera .

Superyacht TATIANA is designed with large dockside gatherings in mind: Guests will disembark onto the large swim platform and enter the magnificent beach club within. The tenders and water toys are instead stored in the bow section beneath a flush foredeck cover, ensuring that space can still be used for such functions as exercise and sunbathing.

The main deck aft, meanwhile, hosts a desirable swimming pool of 8.5m/27.9ft in length and a depth of 1.4m/4.6ft – perfect for cooling off on hot summer days or exercising after dark when the water toys are safely stowed away. Although there are sunbeds running the length of both sides of the pool, the group might also like to rest and dry off on the sofa/sunbeds farther forward in the alfresco lounge area. Here, there is quick access to the bar where the talented crew can create a range of colourful cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages to suit all ages and occasions.

The upper deck aft is the main alfresco dining area and offers an extensive dining table with a bar to port and aft-facing seating behind to enjoy an aperitif or a nightcap while watching the blazing sunset. Canvas shades are available to keep off the midday sun and light sea spray.

The Owner’s deck is divided into fore and aft sections that also have optional canvas shades. The aft section is dedicated to lounging and sunbathing, with a plush sunbed along the stern and close to the glass sliding doors to the interior a sofa on both sides with a coffee table in between. The forward deck area is fitted with a sofa/sunbed on both sides and a forward Jacuzzi that will be coveted place to unwind while having uninterrupted views of the stunning Ionian Islands white cliffs, the regattas at Porto Cervo in Sardinia and the amazing cities of the Cote d’Azur .

Large windows and private terraces connect the interior and exterior spaces: At night, the warm glow of the lighting across the decks makes her as much of a show-stopper as a welcome home on the water during an extensive cruise. It is this lighting which draws guests into the understated elegance of the contemporary interiors by H2 Yacht Design, and the beach club is likely to be one of the first spaces guests and visitors enter by. The light and spacious interior are achieved using Macassar veneer and light eucalyptus. The top-quality marble is back-lit to bring out its details, further complemented by carved stone and emphasised textures.

A swimming pool runs through the centre of the aft beach club section, further illuminated by glass panels in the swimming pool on the main deck above. Farther forward, the beach club opens up to reveal a bar, plush lounges with top-quality TV entertainment and audio systems, a hammam and a spa massage room. Fold-down terraces further extend the space for sunbathing and lounging while simultaneously opening the interior up to the sunshine and fresh sea air.

Elsewhere on board there is an ambient cinema that has dark textures walls and two rows of matching silvery sofas. A coffee table also presents the possibility of using this space as another quiet lounge for close conversation.

The fully-equipped gym has a running machine, rowing machine and a range of free weights amongst its workout choices, and a widescreen TV will provide entertainment and motivation in the calm, bright white surroundings.

The main deck salon uses pale cream tones, slate blue and silvery mirror surfaces to create an ambience associated with the open sky. This is reflected in the colour scheme and subject matter of the surrounding artwork, adding to the serenity when dining beneath the sensational custom chandelier, or planning for the day ahead on the sumptuous sofas or armchairs. A widescreen TV separates the dining and lounging areas, and it can be viewed from both sides so that the group never misses a moment of the latest news and sports.

The skylounge is a dream-like sports lounge with an eye-catching back-lit bar, a pool table, grand piano and armchairs scattered throughout two semi-circular sofas and coffee tables create a cosy place to relax and watch live-action or a film on the widescreen TV, with the mirrored ceiling and matching walls creating an intimate environment after sundown.

The guest accommodation is just as beautiful and pristine in colour choice and furnishings. There are 8 en-suite cabins spread across the decks to sleep up to 14 guests: 1 Master suite, 3 VIP staterooms and 4 further guest cabins comprised of doubles and twins.

The Master suite is placed on the Owner’s deck and has its own private office as well as a massive stately bedroom in white, grey, dark teal and gold. The king-sized bed takes centre stage, however, there is also a day bed for reading and unwinding beside the window, a massive widescreen TV integrated into the port and starboard walls, a seating area with table for casual meals and drinks, all with fantastic views out onto the aft terrace. The en-suite bathroom has everything the occupants could desire, with twin sinks, a bathtub and shower within the well-proportioned interior.

All three VIP staterooms are situated on the main deck and have queen-sized beds within each voluminous room. The windows are almost full-height, granting the occupants excellent views and natural lighting while maintaining privacy within. A widescreen TV is placed in the wall opposite the bed, and the storage is integrated seamlessly into the surroundings. The en-suite bathroom is finished in marble and has twin sinks and bathtub with shower.

The remaining guest cabins on the lower deck enjoy an abundance of space as well as cutting edge amenities and en-suite facilities, making these bedrooms just as much of a tranquil haven after a busy day.

The crew of 23 are accommodated on the lower deck, and their areas have received just as much attention to detail. There is a crew mess for meals and downtime, and the team of professional chefs have plenty of space in the cutting-edge galley to prepare stunning creations for everyday meals or to mark a special celebration.

The engineering is just as impressive with a pair of engines and a generator producing a top speed of 19 knots, a cruising speed of 12 knots and an extensive range of more than 6,000 nautical miles. The fuel capacity draws on 155,000 litres and has an economical fuel consumption of approximately 250 litres per hour.

Luxury yacht TATIANA is built to IMO Tier III certification and at the time of writing is the cleanest yacht in her class: The special exhaust system aboard M/Y TATIANA produces 100% clean air emissions that further enhances her eco-friendly credentials for a greener future for travel.

Bilgin Yachts is also currently building a 50m/164ft and 74m/242.8ft luxury yacht both due for launch in 2022, plus a new 85m/278.9ft superyacht due for launch in 2023 when she will become the new flagship for the yard.

Introducing the 80m ultimate explorer concept by Vitruvius Yachts

The London-based design studio Vitruvius Yachts has revealed the first details of its latest superyacht concept: an 80m go-anywhere explorer yacht.

With the design following closely in the footsteps of Vitruvius’ 54.9-metre Shinkai – built by Feadship in the Netherlands and delivered in 2021 – this new explorer is notable for its long aft deck which is ideal for storing a generous toy collection or even a helipad.

Designed to satisfy the most active and adventurous of owners, the explorer boasts a vast beach club and health centre below deck, enabling direct and convenient access to the sea for water sports.

This new vessel represents Vitruvius’ take on the ideal explorer superyacht. She maintains her superyacht DNA through the innovative design of her exterior, as well as through the exceptional space and comfort which are offered by her interior. She is also a true explorer through and through, and will have an exceptional autonomous range of 6500 nautical miles to take her owners anywhere in the world.

Housing 12 guests across a total of 6 carefully-designed staterooms, the naval architecture of the vessel is informed by the success of Vitruvius’ previous explorer vessel, Shinkai, with her steel hull created for optimal efficiency and adhering to the latest industry criteria for sustainability.

With performance and onboard comfort key to the new explorer vessel – she is expected to reach a top speed of 19 knots and cruise with ease at 14 knots – special care has also been given to controlling any rolling motions on board – a trait which is also key for ease of launching her onboard toys such as submarines. Furthermore, the addition of gyro/fin stabilisers is also in consideration for the vessel.

Finally, owners can also decide to choose an observatory option for the expedition superyacht, which would provide a 22-square metre space to bring those on board even closer to the beauties of the night sky, wherever they might find themselves in the world.

Rose Damen, managing director of Damen Yachting, calls the 262-footer a “crossover superyacht” that throws out the idea that an explorer yacht has to look like a modified research vessel. The exterior of the new 80M, depending on the designer, can range from a slightly rounded superstructure to extreme curves.

The three exterior choices come from Azure Yacht Design (pictured), Harrison Eidsgaard, and Espen Oino, while the interiors are by Harrison Eidsgaard (pictured), Winch Design, and Reymond Langton. The designers all worked independently with Damen to create designs that would fit into a core platform.

The Dutch builder then pre-engineered the different interiors and exteriors so they can be interchangeable, depending on how the client wants to design it—another trait that is new to the rigid explorer design. The stern area can also be configured in multiple ways, from an enclosed helicopter hangar (with a helipad on top), to double tender garages, to a gym and wellness center, or even a dive center.

Ben Harrison, cofounder of U.K. designer Harrison Eidsgaard, presented his firm’s interior concept, a sprawling New York-loft-style design that makes use of the tall ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, open-plan spaces, loose designer furniture, and even a fireplace. “We can play with the spaces and reallocate them according to the owner’s wishes, without having major implications for the technical design of the yacht,” said Harrison.

The new 80 also has some shared un-explorer-like features, including an enclosed observation lounge and open nook on the bow, as well as a crow’s nest that stands nearly 100 feet above the vessel. “It’s an intimate space that allows for 360-degree views of the water,” said Tintore.

Despite the unusual exterior and interior offerings, says Tintore, the 262-footer retains the Xplorer line’s DNA. The vessel is designed to stay off-grid for 40 days at sea. Tintore noted that the original concept of these vessels being solely polar explorers has also been thrown out the window. Since the first was launched in 2015, Damen owners have visited tropical destinations with their expedition yachts.

The flexible layouts, adds Tintore, allows owners to configure their boats to match the conditions where they’ll be cruising. The new design should prompt competitors to reexamine their own explorer concepts and hopefully inject more flexibility—and fun—into their creations.

80m Hybrid Explorer Yacht // Gill Schmid Design

80m hybrid explorer yacht with ice class and generous surfaces of glass.

Together with Tim Dempers Studio (exterior), Gill Schmid Design (exterior and interior) created the 80m hybrid ice-classed explorer yacht for the dockyard of Dörries Yachts in Germany. The yacht with straight, clean lines and a nearly vertical stem is a construction with a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure.

Aft is a touch-and-go helipad that is also a streetball/basketball court and covers the entire outside deck below.

A number of tenders and toys

The vessel features an A-frame crane that is fully integrated into the design (as you can see in the renderings below). This kind of crane makes it easy to launch all the tenders toys. Talking of tenders and toys, the yacht has a large capacity for:

• Autonomous underwater vehicles
• Four Sea-Doo Jet skis
• 10.97m Damen Interceptor 1102

The large tender garage on the main deck aft also transforms into a party deck when the tenders and toys are in the water.

Inside of the Yacht

The deck with the helipad offers a gym with a great view overlooking the ocean. Moreover, there are spa and lounge areas with TV. The outside space forward has a Jacuzzi, sunbeds, and armchairs with coffee tables.

The full-beam owners’ suite has a private outdoor deck, office, and private dining area for up to six persons. Furthermore, there are six guest suites and accommodation for a crew of 25 people.

ISA Continental 80 meters: construction well underway

ISA Yachts, a brand of Palumbo Superyachts, leader in the construction and sale of custom and semi custom superyachts, confirms that the construction of the steel hull of ISA CONTINENTAL 80 meters is progressing smoothly on schedule.

The interior fitting is expected to start in January 2022 with a potential delivery to the Owner in early 2024. 

Enrico Gobbi of Team for Design penned the exterior lines, while the naval architecture is by Palumbo Superyachts.

The construction is an ‘on spec’ project started and financed by ISA Yachts to reduce delivery times and offer a well-established naval platform adjustable between 70 and 80 meters of length.

The ISA brand has always been synonym for excellence and quality and the 35 superyachts, between 30 and 66 metres delivered from 2002 to date, actually prove it.

Palumbo Superyachts can rely on a network of 5 shipyards scattered through the Mediterranean (Ancona, Savona, Naples, Marseille and Malta) capable of providing Owners with professional services ranging from design to construction, and following with ‘after-sale’ support and assistance for any maintenance/refit job.

PROJECT NOTES

Project ISA CONTINENTAL 80 is a very architectural yacht with well balanced volumes and ‘streamlined’ lines. Its exterior design is highlighted by squared and rigorous windows for incredibly panoramic views from all the main indoor areas. A distinctive detail is given by the terraces in the central section of the boat; in particular, the one on the Upper Deck looks like a real balcony and lets more light flood the salon.  Other strategic areas are just as brightly lit, like the gym in the Sky-lounge and the salons on the Upper and Main Deck. Another emblematic feature of this yacht is the stern infinity pool. Its rectangular shape spans the beam of the deck and stands out for its aft wall formed by 2 glass sheets with water cascading between them. So arranged, the swimming pool leaves ample room for large sunpads and lounging, transforming this portion of the Main Deck into an extension of the actual beach area to which is connected by a flight of stairs. Chinese coast guard ships attempt to block Philippine vessels carrying scientists in South China Sea

MANILA, Philippines — Chinese coast guard ships backed by a military helicopter attempted unsuccessfully to block two Philippine government vessels carrying scientists from reaching two sandbars in the disputed South China Sea, Philippine officials said Friday.

Chinese coast guard personnel blew the horn on one of their ships for half an hour and repeatedly transmitted radio warnings during the confrontation Thursday, but the Filipino scientists managed to complete their four-hour marine and biodiversity research at the barren sandbars called Sandy Cay, the officials said.

The Chinese coast guard gave a different account of the faceoff. A spokesperson, Gan Yu, said in a statement that its law enforcement officers “boarded” the sandbars, which Beijing calls Tiexian Reef, and dealt with what it called “illegal activities” by 34 Philippine personnel who “ignored China’s warnings and dissuasion.”

“That’s another lie coming from the Chinese coast guard,” Philippine coast guard Commodore Jay Tarriela said at a news conference on Friday. “For four hours, our marine scientists were able to continue their research.”

Journalists who were invited to join the research mission witnessed the incident, Tarriela said.

It was the latest flareup in increasingly tense territorial disputes that are seen as a potential Asian flashpoint that might bring China and the United States into a conflict if they degenerate into a major armed confrontation.

China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan and Brunei have overlapping territorial claims that have erupted from time to time into brief confrontations in the South China Sea.

Hostilities between China and the Philippines, however, have worsened since last year, resulting in minor collisions at sea and injuries to a few Filipino crewmen, sparking a war of words.

Washington has no territorial claims in the strategic waterway but has questioned China’s claim to virtually the entire seaway. The United States has repeatedly warned that it’s obligated to defend the Philippines, its oldest treaty ally in Asia, if Filipino forces, ships and aircraft come under an armed attack.

During the Chinese coast guard’s maneuvers, one of its ships crossed the bow of the Philippine fisheries vessel BRP Datu Sanday at a distance of 100 meters (328 feet), Tarriela said. At least 13 suspected Chinese militia vessels tried to help form a blockade, he said.

Two of the three small sandbars where the Filipino scientists carried out a survey are located between Philippine-occupied Thitu island and Subi, a disputed reef that China transformed into an island base with a military-grade runway, seaports and a number of buildings with communications facilities.

In 2017, Chinese officials accused the Philippine military of attempting to build a structure on one of the sandbars, and deployed Chinese coast guard and suspected militia ships to keep watch on Sandy Cay.

80 Metre Motor Yacht Elements Now For Sale With CNI

Built in steel and aluminium by Turkish yard Yachtley to a design by Alpha Marine , Elements is Lloyd's classed and SOLAS compliant, with delivery earlier in 2019. An elegant interior by Cristiano Gatto welcomes 24 guests in 12 cabins consisting of a master suite, two VIP suites, four doubles and five twins.
