Which Superyacht is Right for You?
The type of superyachts best suited for you depends on the on-water experience you want. You may want power and speed, ensuring a motor-powered superyacht is right for you. Alternatively, you may want to feel the wind pushing you across the water, so a sailing yacht is best suited for your needs. In either respect, the most popular superyachts feature incredible amenities, top performance and exceptional design that allows them to retain their value for resale or charter.
When choosing the ideal superyacht, you – with the help of your broker – will weigh various options and features, including style, type of yacht, build pedigree, crew layout, facilities, décor and more. Whether you are looking for a large, modern motor yacht or a classically styled gentlemen’s yacht, Northrop & Johnson has a wide selection of superyacht types available for sale.
When buying or building a yacht, remember: first and foremost, your yacht is for you and your family or friends to use. What type of experience and use are you looking for in your ownership? Are you interested in a new or used yacht? Custom built or semi-custom? How are you planning to use your yacht? If you are planning to charter your yacht to help offset some of the running costs, then factor in the charterer, but remember, a yacht is very personal and you must consider your own needs as a priority.

Transforming the bow into an epic outdoor theater, the giant high-definition TV takes center stage. It’s perhaps the largest screen to feature on a boat of this size, sheltered by a temporary sunshade and flanked by sunpads on either side. And the submerged pool seats keep guests cool when viewing on hot days. In front of the wheelhouse is a bank of sofas and tables for guests who prefer to stay dry, yet still enjoy lines of sight usually reserved for the captain.
For the young European owner with entertaining at the forefront of his mind, Grey is an impressive first yacht. “He wanted something different for his first boat and asked to have the richest materials on board,” Elisa Corti, Tankoa’s PR representative, told Robb Report during a tour of the yacht in Monaco. “He paid a lot of attention to even the smallest of details.”
The entire boat is designed to elevate the onboard fun factor. It’s fitted with state-of-the-art stereo sound by Focal & Naim to bring a cinematic quality to films and sports, enhanced by acoustic leather wallpaper.
The sky lounge on the upper deck is a dedicated media room fitted with a large LG Signature rollable TV. The original layout included a second galley on this level, but in the spirit of socializing, the owner amended the design to include an open bar. A non-negotiable for the owner was the addition of Starlink satellite, which means the yacht has guaranteed connectivity for navigation, technology, and streaming media.
Built on speculation before the owner stepped in, much of the three-deck layout closely echoes the previous four units, except for a few owner customizations.
This includes the sundeck, which was extended by 108 square feet, a second pool, pop-up tables for alfresco dining, and an outdoor galley with a bar made from the largest slab of backlit black agate found on any yacht.
Other bespoke details include the single-but-significantly larger windows in each of the four light-filled lower deck guest cabins—two doubles and two twins. The owner also requested the use of leather on the interior, rare white Macaubas quartzite in the master suite, and soft carpet on the stairs.
Other materials include natural flamed Indian rosewood, European oak, eucalyptus, and Palissandro Bluette marble. And, of course, a TV in every room. “The client’s instructions were to deliver a result that would be luxurious and rich, a showcase of fine craftsmanship,” said Cassetta in a statement.
The full-beam owner’s suite with a walk-in wardrobe and en suite is on the main deck forward, with two asymmetric fold-down balconies on each side, both with windows that open when the balconies are closed. A VIP is also found on this level, located between the master suite and the main salon, which also has formal dining. With built-in deck spaces, the owner uses both the master and VIP as impromptu offices when needed.
Grey has a top speed of 17.5 knots and a cruising speed of 16 knots. Its range is 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots.
The best-laid plans of mice, men, and yacht buyers. The owner took delivery of his personalized boat last June, only enjoying a few weeks of cruising in summer before listing Grey for charter and sale. The good news is that it’s a ready-made platform for anyone who likes to party.

The journey to new photos has just begun. Here’s a sneak peek at a few of the 6 Series improvements, including New Windows, Toe Rail, Corian, Keel and the Butler Explorer Pedestal.
A new era in keel design.
The journey to the 6 Series began in the spring of 2023 with a comprehensive update to our keel shapes. Our design team, working closely with Mars Metal, embarked on a mission to enhance the hydrodynamics of our keels, resulting in shapes that offer superior lift and reduced drag. This fundamental change was driven by our commitment to optimizing sailing performance across all conditions.
The updated keel designs not only improve speed and handling but also enhance stability and safety, ensuring that sailors of all skill levels can enjoy a smooth and responsive sailing experience. These advancements mark a significant step forward in our continuous effort to innovate and elevate our sailboat designs.
The New Selden Rig: Precision and Performance
Building on the momentum of our keel innovations, the second major change in the 6 Series is the introduction of the new Selden rig, which began in the fall of 2023. Selden, a leader in rigging technology, has collaborated with Catalina Yachts to develop a state-of-the-art rigging system that maximizes performance and ease of use.
The new Selden rig features advanced materials and engineering techniques, resulting in a rig that is both lighter and stronger. This allows for more precise sail control, improved aerodynamics, and increased overall efficiency. Sailors will appreciate the ease of handling and the enhanced performance that the Selden rig brings to the 6 Series models.
Partnerships and Collaborations
The development of the 6 Series would not have been possible without the support and expertise of our major partners. Companies such as Mars Metal, Selden, Garhauer, Edson, Sensar, Webasto, Southco, Doyle, Lewmar, and Dometic have all contributed to the success of this new series. Their innovative products and unwavering commitment to quality have played a crucial role in bringing the 6 Series to life.
Supplier Excellence and the Role of UMMA
In addition to our major partners, the 6 Series is supported by a vast network of suppliers, including hundreds of companies that provide essential components and services. Our purchasing manager, Joe Langdon, maintains close relationships with these suppliers, ensuring that we receive the highest quality materials and products. The United Marine Manufacturers Association (UMMA) has also been instrumental in facilitating these partnerships, helping us to achieve the level of excellence that Catalina Yachts is known for.
Feedback-Driven Innovation
At Catalina Yachts, we value the input of our sailing community. The development of the 6 Series was heavily influenced by feedback from both direct calls with owners and our new owner survey app. This feedback helped us identify the features and improvements that our customers wanted to see in our updated models. We are proud to say that the 6 Series reflects the desires and expectations of our loyal sailors.
Looking Ahead: A Commitment to Excellence
The launch of the 6 Series is a continuation of more than 50 years of pushing the boundaries of yacht design and performance. Catalina Yachts remains dedicated to our core values of quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. We are excited about the future and introducing new models that will further enhance the award-winning Catalina lineup and furthering our commitment to American Luxury.

SUSTAINABILITY
With Seadeck, innovation and design come together to create the most technological and advanced yacht designed by Azimut until now. Natural, recycled or recyclable materials such as cork, Econyl and PET ,represent some of the pillars of the new Gentle Era undertaken by Azimut. Exterior and interior design elements communicate in a fluent environment, breaking down the barriers and creating a boat of timeless beauty, with a gentle essence. Seadeck is the world’s first family hybrid yacht series. This supremacy has been achieved thanks to careful research and product development, which have enabled the creation of a yacht series that is highly energy efficient, environmentally and fuel efficient, without renounce performance.
A surprisingly spacious and versatile stern area introduces the new concept of the Fun Island, an unprecedented open-air lounge au fil de l’eau, designed to experience the large spaces in total freedom and comfort. The entire Main Deck is transformed into a large space that offers the possibility of interacting with everyone, even with those in the water, breaking down the last physical and social barrier. It is the real and symbolic space of «fun». The Fun Island is completed by two opening wings and an aft platform that reveals a large staircase that descents into the water.
Boundaries are broken down and life on board redefined, without obligations and restrictions. Thanks to the unique connection between cockpit and water and the openings in the stern, the spaces seem wider and the transition between inside and outside is smoother. The hull windows immerse themselves in the colouring of the broadside and emphasise the purity of the styling.
The design is quiet, peaceful, taking you to an oasis of peace. The keyword is gentleness. The interiors are characterised by timeless, enduring beauty, with neutral colours and simple finishes. The gentle, light, open-pored materials used for the boat’s interior give a feeling of relaxation and calm. Cork, an ancient, Mediterranean material with its many properties, is used for the exterior flooring. Econyl, made from recycled nylon, is used for carpeting due to its softness.
Our advanced toolkit
The Seadeck 6, introduces the debut of an innovative system that allows both zero-emissions at anchor and cruising with the generator off while powering the main ob-board consumers, further reducing consumption. This system, called Mild Hybrid Zero Emission Hotel Mode, is based on a 42-kWh lithium battery pack and an alternator connected to one of the three engines. The zero-emission autonomy at anchor, depending on the weather conditions, can reach up to 4 hours during the day and 8 hours at night. During navigation, the generator can be kept off with the main 220V consumers, such as the stabilizer and air conditioning, in operation for up to 8 hours.
The innovative naval architecture developed by the Azimut R&D Department in collaboration with NAMES is the most effective ever built by the Shipyard, made to maximize the efficiency of the Seadeck 6 at its most frequent cruising speeds. Compared with standard planning hulls, the hull of the Seadeck 6 is wider at the stern and more streamlined at the bow, allowing it to begin hydroplaning sooner, therefore reducing drag at lower speeds. This advanced solution broadens the speed range at which the Seadeck 6 can navigate at peak efficiency while ensuring a smooth, pleasant ride.
Azimut’s pioneering use of carbon fiber extends beyond pure performance. Azimut, in fact, has accrued experience in lightening its boats through the extensive use of this material, which is produced in-house by the Shipyard. Applying the accumulated insights of the R&D Department to maximize the carbon fiber content, Azimut laminates 40% of the Seadeck 6’s surface in the high-performance lighter material – such as the deckhouse, roof, wings, bathing platform, and most of the main deck, from the saloon amidships to the aft, including the Fun Island – in order to optimize the weight of the boat and therefore contributing to fuel consumption and emissions reduction.
The Seadeck 6 can be equipped with 10 square meters solar panels installed on the deckhouse, resulting in a total power of 1410Wp. The energy generated by the solar panels contributes to charging the battery pack, lowering CO2 emissions even further.
Azimut also extends its research and implementation of more sustainable solutions to materials, introducing alternatives of natural origin, recycled or recyclable, chosen also for the advantages they offer in terms of performance. The Seadeck 6 introduces for the first time on board the MarineCork cork by Sace Components, used for the external decking in place of traditional teak. A 100% natural resource, which can be extracted several times without damaging the tree and which, in addition, stands out for being up to 40% lighter than teak, fire resistant and waterproof.
The quest to find sustainable alternatives penetrates the surface, arriving at the core of the yacht: for the first time, the 30% of the Seadeck 6’s structure is made of R-PET. R-PET has been used for the core of the bulkheads and for 75% of the internal deck, equivalent to approximately 15,000 plastic bottles recovered and reused to replace traditional PVC, guaranteeing the same efficiency and reducing the amount of virgin plastic used in the construction of the yacht.
Persistent investment in the research and implementation of advanced technologies and sustainable materials has allowed the Seadeck Series to be the shipyard’s first to obtain the RINA GREEN PLUS GOLD class certification for its environmental performance, even in its standard configuration.

See inside: 8 of the most varied owner's cabins
The spectacular master suites on superyacht magna grecia.
This sprawling cabin is the master suite of 58.67 metre Elsflether Werft Magna Grecia . Get a good night's sleep on the king size bed, flanked by magnolia and chrome furnishings – or simply lounge in the suite and put a movie on the big screen.
Vinydrea’s expansive owner’s cabin
This spectacularly spacious owner's cabin is sadly no more. Previously the master suite on Turquoise 53.2 metre explorer yacht Vinydrea , she was refitted with a new interior and renamed Kinta .
The opulent interior of luxury charter yacht Kinta was overhauled for the charter market in 2013, giving her a more classic look with dark wenge wood flooring, while coordinating satin, leather and cotton finishings are found throughout the yacht.
Unwind in style aboard Panther
Another example of an owner’s cabin that is no more, this used to be the suite on Mondo Marine 's Panther II . Last year, she was renamed Barents Sea and refitted for the charter market with a beach house chic interior.
The calming mix of beige, gold and dark wood is certainly striking, but it's been swapped out for a more modern and universally appealing, neutral decor with a white and grey palette. The new owners have, however, preserved the art-work resin walls (as shown above), which were created by the wife of her previous owner. Barents Sea is currently for sale .
The Old World-inspired owner’s cabin on superyacht Janie
Amber hued lighting, ornamental lamps and long-tufted pale carpet with gold filigree evoke an historic (yet stylish), Old World charm aboard 47.9 metre Trinity Yachts -built Janie .
She's been refitted (and renamed – now Cocktails , also previously Chevy Toy ), but the layout and concept of the master suite remains the same. An interior refresh has seen the bed and joinery darkened, the carpet updated and the headboard revived with a faux leather finish.
Superyacht RoMa’s Master Suite haven
Recline in style aboard the 62 metre Viareggio Superyachts -built RoMa . With a sprawling king size bed, offset by silk-lined walls and contrasting gold and mahogany plush cushions, this master suite oozes quiet opulence.
Xanadu’s light-filled Master Suite
This is what the owner's cabin of 60 metre Benetti _ St David _looked like in a previous life, when she was called Xanadu . A skylight above the bed pours light into the opulent master suite. The luxurious lilac Louis Moreau quilted silk bedcovers and window treatments have been given a gentle update but the room remains fairly similar.

Superyacht KISMET gets blown up in '6 Underground' movie

By Editorial Team 27 December 2019
Starring in the biggest Netflix movie to date, Lurssen ’s 95m/ 312ft motor yacht KISMET plays a central role in new Michael Bay blockbuster '6 Underground'.
With an A-list cast which includes Ryan Reynolds, 6 Underground promises high-speed drama, exhilarating action and a closer look at the world's 57th largest yacht KISMET .
The yacht is at the centre of some explosive scenes- including one where she gets blown up with the help of CGI software.
Filming for the Netflix movie took place in October 2018, where she was spotted by local residents in Taranto, Italy. Onlookers gathered along the coast to take in the action as the yacht cruised past accompanied by a filming helicopter.
Directed by the multi-award-winning director Michael Bay and budgeted at $150 million, 6 Underground is Netflix's priciest feature. The movie premiered on the 10th of December in New York, and was then released digitally to Netflix on the 13th.
The cast is led by Hollywood heavyweight Ryan Reynolds, with support from Mélanie Laurent, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Adria Arjona, and Ben Hardy.
The plot follows six individuals from around the world, each an expert in their field with a skillset and desire to change the future. The team is brought together by a leader known only as One (Ryan Reynolds) whose sole mission in life is to right terrible wrongs by whatever means necessary.
Filming onboard
KISMET was hired for a week during filming and she played host to some of the most exciting and high-action scenes in the movie.
The movie highlights the glitz and glamour of the superyacht lifestyle, particularly in the party scenes. Plenty of long shots of the yacht's facilities were shot during the day, where her sleek interiors and spacious amenities were showcased.
There are even a few shots of the yacht's foredeck basketball court and and oversized jacuzzi.
A separate set
However, a seperate set was also constructed for a variety of scenes, including the poolside shoot-out. KISMET does not have an aft deck pool, and the seperate set allowed for increased flexibility when shooting.
Director of photography Bojan Baelli informed IBC, an online media news source, that the crew had to be extra cautious when filming the dynamic scenes on board KISMET, stating that “[she] had teak floors which we had to protect in case they burned down”.
Special effects & CGI
Many of the exhilirating aerial shots were taken while the motor yacht was underway in Taranto, then later rendered for the full dramatic effect.
This is apparent in KISMET's final scenes, where she is blown up and proceeds to sink slowly into the sea. This section of the movie was edited using CGI software.
How much does it cost to rent the 6 Underground movie yacht?
Available for private yacht charters , the cost to experience KISMET starts from €1,200,000 per week plus expenses. Currently, she is based in the Caribbean but will be cruising the Mediterranean for her summer season.
Guests onboard can expect to visit popular hotspots such as the French Riviera or the Amalfi coast , and may even get the opportunity to cruise by her old filming locations in Italy.

Bayesian yacht sinking: Horror of those trapped in bedrooms described by former captain

A former captain of the Bayesian has described the terrifying obstacles facing those trapped in the cabins as the Bayesian superyacht overturned killing seven.
Stephen Edwards, who captained the Bayesian for five years until 2020, told The Telegraph : “Those who stayed curled up in bed were in the worst situation.
“The storm hit hard, placing them in the melee of flying furniture, glass and other items,” he said adding he had spoken to traumatised crew members.
“Inside the cabins, the only way to think of this is that people were lying in their beds one minute, and the next the room was on its side, totally dark, with the door now either in the floor or in the ceiling above.”
It came as divers race to retrieve Mike Lynch’s personal hard drives locked in a safe on the ocean floor, according to reports.
Italian newspaper la Repubblica reported that the tech billionaire, whose clients included MI5, the NSA and the Israeli secret service, didn’t trust confidential documents on the cloud and kept two encrypted hard drives in a safe which now lies 49 metres below sea level.
Italian navy recover video equipment
Italian Navy divers have recovered video surveillance equipment from the wreckage of billionaire Mike Lynch’s Bayesian superyacht that could explain how it sank.
The British tech tycoon’s boat had been moored near the port of Porticello on 19 August when it sank during the early hours of the morning. It is now lying 50m below the surface.
Among those killed were Mr Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter Hannah, who had been due to begin studying at Oxford University in September, as well as four other family friends and associates.
Divers hunting for clues on how Mike Lynch’s superyacht sank make discovery
The video equipment recovered could show if the crews left doors open on the Bayesian superyacht, which might have allowed the vessel to flood
What happens now weeks after tragic sinking?
Prosecutors are investigating the captain , New Zealander James Cutfield, and two crew members for possible responsibility in connection with the sinking.
Mr Cutfield is under investigation for possible manslaughter and culpable shipwreck charges. Tim Parker Eaton — the engineer who was in charge of securing the yacht’s engine room — and sailor Matthew Griffith — who was on watch duty on the night of the disaster — are now under investigation for the same possible charges, their lawyer said.
Chief prosecutor Ambrogio Cartosio, who is heading the investigation, has said his team will consider each possible element of responsibility including those of the captain, the crew, individuals in charge of supervision and the yacht’s manufacturer.
Investigators are focusing on how a sailing vessel deemed “unsinkable” by its manufacturer, Italian shipyard Perini Navi, sank while a nearby sailboat remained largely unscathed. They added raising the Bayesian and examining the yacht for evidence would provide key elements to the investigation.
Maritime director of western Sicily, Rear Admiral Raffaele Macauda of the coastguard, could not confirm how long it would take to retrieve the shipwreck of the sunken yacht, adding recovering the fuel tanks was a “priority for us because it has environmental knock-on effects”.
Special forces divers and robots search Mike Lynch’s sunken Bayesian yacht for clues
Specialist military divers are currently searching the sunken Bayesian yacht for clues as to why it sunk in a freak storm off the coast of Siciliy, killing seven passengers.
British tech tycoon Mike Lynch’s boat had been moored near the port of Porticello on 19 August when it sank during the early hours of the morning, and is now lying 50 metres below the surface of the water.
About six divers from the Italian navy ’s Comsubin unit are investigating the superyacht for electronic equipment, which includes data storage and CCTV and to see if doors were left open during the storm.
Holly Evans reports:
A sonar also being deployed to discover the best way to raise the wreckage from the sea
Chris Morvillo and wife drowned aboard Bayesian
Italian authorities said the first post-mortem examinations on the victims had been carried out on US lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife Neda . The results confirmed that the pair had drowned.
Morvillo was a partner at Clifford Chance, a white-collar law firm. He previously worked as a federal prosecutor who investigated the September 11 terror attacks, according to the New York Post .
Investigators hope to recover data on sinking of Bayesian
Navy divers recovered hard drives of the video surveillance system on board the Bayesian hopefully revealing the final moments before the tragic sinking of the superyacht.
In the engine room there were the hard disks that catalogued the parameters regarding the electric and thermal propulsion.
“We hope to be able to read something from the media”, an investigator told La Repubblica. They added “Unfortunately they are standard models that are not resistant to water and pressure”.
There was no black box on board the 700-tonne sailing vessel that sank in minutes. It was not required to have one, as it was not a commercial cruise ship.
'Mike Lynch files may be target for hostile spy agencies’
Divers are searching the sea floor for Mike Lynch’s high-tech hard drives before they can fall into enemy hands reports La Repubblica - Italy’s second-biggest newspaper.
Sources told the paper the disks held: “the great digital archive of the IT entrepreneur whose clients included the British MI5, the American NSA and the Israeli services”.
The Italian newspaper said the “super drives” are protected by “cutting-edge encryption”.
The Sun reported the drives now could be a target for the hostile spy agencies of Russia, China, and Iran as they seek to steal valuable secrets.
Autopsies reveal cause of death of US lawyer and wife onboard Mike Lynch’s superyacht
Autopsies have been carried out on a couple who drowned on Mike Lynch’s superyacht when it sank off the coast of Sicily last month.
Seven lives were lost when the British-flagged boat, called the Bayesian, went down in a freak storm while anchored near the Sicilian capital of Palermo on 19 August.

Darktrace to be taken over after Mike Lynch’s death
Darktrace shares are set to stop trading publicly at the end of September, after the company set a timetable for its blockbuster private equity takeover to be completed.
The private equity group Thoma Bravo struck an almost 5.31 billion dollar (£4.3 billion) deal to buy Darktrace in April.
Darktrace AI interrupts in-progress cyber-attacks in seconds, including ransomware, email phishing, and threats to cloud environments.
It marks one of the biggest take-private deals for a London-listed company in recent years, and will see Darktrace leave the FTSE 100 on October 1.
Poppy Gustafsson helped to set up the Cambridge-based company in 2013 alongside Autonomy founder Mike Lynch.
Mr Lynch, and his daughter Hannah, were among seven people to die after the Bayesian superyacht sank off the coast of Sicily last month.
Bodies flown back to UK on private planes - report
The bodies of Mike Lynch, his daughter Hannah, 18, and the other victims of the Bayesian disaster have been flown back to their families after their post-mortems, according to reports.
They were repatriated on private planes, with their private funerals expected to be held over the coming days, Italian media reports.
The British tech tycoon ’s boat had been moored near the port of Porticello on 19 August when it sank during the early hours of the morning . It is now lying 50m below the surface.
Among those killed were Mr Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter Hannah, who had been due to begin studying at Oxford University in September, as well as four other family friends and associates .
Jonathan Bloomer, the international chairman of Morgan Stanley Bank; his wife Judith, a psychotherapist; Christopher Morvillo, a US lawyer; and his wife Neda, a jewellery designer also died in the sinking.
Also killed was the yacht’s chef, Recaldo Thomas, whose body was recovered floating near the wreckage.
Four victims found with carbon dioxide in lungs
Tech billionaire Mike Lynch, his daughter Hannah, 18, and five other people died when the Bayesian went down in a downburst, which is similar to a small tornado.
Chef Recaldo Thomas, Jonathan Bloomer, the Morgan Stanley International bank chairman, his wife Judy, and Chris Morvillo, a Clifford Chance lawyer, and his wife Neda, were the other victims of the August 19 tragedy.
Four of the victims are feared to have suffocated to death in air bubbles that filled with carbon dioxide, according to their autopsies raising the frightening possibility that they may have been conscious after the yacht sank, according to Italian news outlet La Republica.
Fifteen people, including Angela Bacares, Lynch’s wife, survived when they were rescued by a nearby yacht.

Kitchen Cabinet Color Trends for 2024: A Blend of Style and Functionality
The kitchen has long been considered the heart of the home, and it’s no surprise that homeowners continue to invest in kitchen remodels, focusing on cabinetry to achieve both aesthetic appeal and functionality. As we look at the 2024 kitchen cabinet color trends, a few key themes emerge: a strong desire for personalization, a balanced mix of bold and neutral tones, and an emphasis on nature-inspired hues that help create a serene, inviting space. In this article, we’ll explore the top color trends for kitchen cabinets in 2024 and offer tips on how to incorporate them into your design.
1. Classic Whites with a Modern Twist
White kitchen cabinets have been a staple in home design for years. They provide a timeless, clean look that easily complements various kitchen styles, from modern to farmhouse. In 2024, white cabinetry continues to dominate, but with nuanced updates. Instead of stark, cold whites, softer, warmer shades of white are trending. These warmer whites add a hint of cream or beige, offering a more inviting and lived-in feel.
This shift is driven by a desire for kitchens that feel less clinical and more like a comfortable gathering space. Paired with natural stone countertops or rustic wood accents, these cabinets create a harmonious, cozy atmosphere. White cabinets with subtle undertones are perfect for homeowners who want a timeless look but are ready for something a little less traditional.
2. Nature-Inspired Greens
In 2024, green is emerging as one of the top choices for kitchen cabinets . Inspired by the soothing elements of nature, green brings a sense of calm and tranquility into the kitchen space. Popular shades range from muted sage and olive to bolder, deeper tones like forest green and emerald. These natural hues reflect a growing interest in sustainability and wellness, bringing the outdoors in and helping to create a sanctuary-like environment in the kitchen.
Soft green shades, like Springfield Sage, are particularly popular as they evoke a sense of subtle sophistication. These colors work well in both contemporary and traditional kitchens, providing a fresh, airy feel while grounding the space with their connection to nature.
3. Bold Blues
If you’re looking for a statement color that also offers versatility, blue is your answer. In 2024, deep blues are a favorite choice for homeowners who want to make a bold statement without overwhelming the space. Navy and midnight blue are especially popular for their ability to provide a rich, luxurious look while maintaining a sense of sophistication. These shades are perfect for adding drama and depth to your kitchen without overpowering the overall design.
Blue is a color that can easily be balanced with other tones. It pairs well with natural materials like wood and stone, as well as metals like brass or matte black. For those who want to keep the space from feeling too dark, pairing deep blue cabinets with white or light countertops and backsplashes can create a striking yet balanced contrast.
4. Earthy Neutrals: Taupe, Greige, and Beige
Earth tones, such as taupe, greige (a mix of gray and beige), and beige, are making a significant comeback in 2024. These neutral hues offer versatility and warmth, perfect for homeowners who prefer subtle, timeless palettes that can evolve with changing trends. Taupe and greige are especially attractive because they balance the coolness of gray with the warmth of beige, offering a refined, elegant option for modern kitchens.
These neutral shades work well in minimalist kitchens where the focus is on simplicity and clean lines. They also offer a great base for introducing accent colors through hardware, backsplash tiles, or décor elements, allowing for easy customization over time.
5. Moody Charcoal and Black
For those who prefer a bolder, more dramatic look, dark cabinets in shades of charcoal and black are making a strong appearance in 2024. These moody hues bring a sleek, modern feel to kitchens and are especially popular in open-concept spaces where natural light can balance the darkness. Black cabinets work particularly well with a high-gloss finish, giving the kitchen a luxe, high-end feel.
Despite their bold appearance, dark cabinets can be incredibly versatile when paired with the right materials. Light countertops, metallic accents, and plenty of natural light can prevent the space from feeling too heavy or enclosed. Additionally, incorporating open shelving or glass-front cabinets can break up the solid expanse of dark cabinetry and add visual interest.
6. Two-Tone Cabinets
In 2024, two-tone kitchen cabinets continue to be a popular trend for those who want to add a dynamic, personalized touch to their kitchen. This trend typically features contrasting colors for upper and lower cabinets, such as pairing dark lower cabinets with light upper ones. It can also involve using a bold accent color on a kitchen island while keeping the perimeter cabinets more neutral. The two-tone trend allows for creative expression while maintaining balance and harmony within the space.
The 2024 kitchen cabinet color trends reflect a desire for personal expression, connection to nature, and balance between boldness and subtlety. Whether you prefer the classic warmth of whites, the serenity of nature-inspired greens, or the drama of moody charcoals and blues, there’s a color trend that will fit your style and create the kitchen of your dreams. With a focus on creating spaces that feel both functional and inviting, these cabinet colors help turn kitchens into personalized havens for cooking, entertaining, and gathering.
