Columbia Yachts was opened in 1960. Vince sold the company seven years later and founded Gulfstar in the early 1970s after moving to Florida. Gulfstar became known for its high-performance sailboats. In the 1980s, Brad and Dick Lazzara, Vince’s sons, joined the family business. During their time with the company, Brad’s and Dick’s focus shifted from sailing to an interest in motor yachts. In 1990, Brad and Dick ventured out on their own, creating Lazzara Yacht Corporation. Dedicated to building luxury cruising motor yachts and custom yachts, the brand leads the industry in modernization, design aesthetics and quality. In 1992, the first yacht brandishing the Lazzara name, a 76-foot (23.1m) motor yacht, was launched. Lazzara Yachts’ has a lovely origin story. It’s legacy dates back to 1955 when a chemical engineer, Vince Lazzara, decided to build himself a composite yacht. The result was the largest fiberglass yacht built up to that time. Following the successful completion of his own yacht, Lazzara founded his own shipyard.

Three generations later, Lazzara continues to build quality composite yachts. During the 1980s the company made the transition from sailing yachts to motor yachts and they haven’t looked back. Vince Lazzara went about building a 40 foot sailboat for his own personal use in 1955. Bounty II was built in unison with “AeroMarine” using fiberglass applications that Vince had created. It quickly became the talk on the docks as the largest fiberglass boat ever built.

Come now with me to 1960. Vince decided to start his own company — "Columbia Yachts” which would become the world’s largest manufacturer of fiberglass sailboats. In 1967 he sold Columbia, moved to Florida and started a new company — "Gulfstar” Yachts” which built high quality power and sailing yachts known for their designs.

Now to meet Brad and Dick, Vince’s two sons, who in 1974 saw a prospering family endeavor opening up right before their very eyes and decided to join their dad in “Gulfstar” which became the charter sailboat dominator in the world. In 1975, Vince and the boys began focusing on building high-quality, high-performance motor yachts and took the company to a level that could meet the ever-growing demand. Vince held strong in the industry with a leading reputation. Hence, the story leads us from a renowned sail-boat manufacturer to a turned diesel-powered motor yacht builder! Now I have you sitting on the edge of your seat…don’t I?

It’s not so hard to understand how this shift would happen, as motor yachts were becoming ex-tremely HOT in the yacht world. Say goodbye to Gulfstar as Vince would now make a total 180 degree spin and begin exclusively building larger motor yachts. He seemed to satisfy the need for either an owner-operated or captained vessel.

As one may already know, being Dick Lazzara’s name is synonymous with LAZZARA, he and his brother, Brad were hitting the creative juice buttons and their focus began to turn towards an innovative new yacht that they had confidence would be a trailblazer for the yachting world. So, not only was a new company needed but a new infrastructure too.

Selling their piece in “Gulfstar”, they set out on the task to their goal - building the most innovative motor yachts imaginable at this time.

Turn the page to 1992, the Lazzara 76, was born and what a tremendous response it received . Offering the advantages of being both a production AND custom yacht, the prospective owners were being offered a chance to personalize their yacht while also enjoying the perks of ensuring it was in the hands of a large-scale production boat builder.

Dick and Brad took the market by storm with innovations in comfort, style and nautical reliability and - the highlight - their trademarked Skylounge Cabriolet. For the first time ever, the open flybridge would now be transformed into a studio level living area of luxury on their Lazzara 80, turning into the builder’s most popular model ever.

The fun continued with a 106, 110, and 116 model - each customized to its owner’s desires and unique to its own. Joe, Rich, and Tony – as well as Brad’s son Steve, had all joined the team by 2005 and the family celebrated their 50th Anniversary in the boating industry!

In 2006, the LSX product line had all eyes on it. The LSX 75 won high accolades in the sport yacht category with its performance, style and ‘sexy’ appeal never before seen. The line - up of yachts from 64 to 116 feet were jaw dropping delights as each one was unveiled!

Vince Lazzara, a chemical engineer by trade, built his first yacht back in 1955 for the most demanding of customers: himself. Learning to master boat building skills as he went, Vince’s labor of love ended up producing what was at the time the world’s largest fibreglass yacht. Buoyed by this successful project, Vince established found Columbia Yachts in order to produce sailing boats for customers around the U.S. In the late 1960s, Vince sold Columbia Yachts and moved to Florida for the next stage of his yachting story, where he would establish Gulfstar, the company that would eventually give birth to today’s Lazzara Yachts. While at the helm of Gulfstar Yachts, and assisted by his sons Brad and Dick, Vince ultimately switched to the sole production of diesel-powered motoryachts in the 1980s.

In 1992, the Lazzara Yachts brand finally came into being. Brad and Dick Lazzara, already equipped with a lifetime’s experience in the yachting industry, decided to strike out on their own. The first yacht launched by their new brand was the Lazzara 76, stylish luxury superyacht that was an instant, best-selling classic. The company has never looked back since, creating line after line of luxury vessels with sleek, modern designs, unmatched performance and innovative engineering. In 2006, the company introduced the LSX model of yacht, a truly modern offering that combines the exceptional speed and power of a sports yacht with the space, comfort and amenity of pleasure crafts.

Since Brad and Dick’s retirement, the firm has been headed by Joe Lazzara, the third generation in the family to own and operate a yachting firm. Based out of Tampa, Florida, with a Turkish manufacturing facility opening in 2019 in the free trade zone of Antalya, Lazzara’s ambitions are as lofty as ever. The firm currently constructs five models of yacht and catamaran from 60 to 120 feet in length, each among the most popular models available anywhere today. Lazzara LSX 85

This ambitious new yacht from Lazzara is designed to be the ultimate entertaining yacht. At 85 feet in length and a beam of 20 feet, this stylish yacht is certainly large, but feels even bigger due to its inventive use of space. A large beach club equipped with L-shaped sofas to the rear comes with a submersible swimming deck and folding teak side panels that lay flat to offer even more party space. Interiors feel light and breezy due to extensive use of floor-to-ceiling tinted windows, while the downstairs living suite can be opened up to the elements through use of yet another folding side panel that doubles as a cute breakfast balcony. A large and partially sheltered aft deck is the perfect place to sip cocktails, while the generous salon room and full galley can be used for more formal dining. Though primarily designed with entertaining in mind, this yacht does not compromise on performance either. Triple Volvo IPS 1200 engines give the vessel a top speed of 42 knots and a cruising range of 550 nautical miles, enough to whisk you from Miami to the Bahamas in no time at all.

Lazzara LPC 70

A cruising catamaran with plenty of space, this dual-hulled yacht is another great option for those who wish to host exceptional floating parties. A beach club to the rear of the catamaran benefits from the vessel’s 27-foot beam to provide space for up to 5 beach loungers side to side. Curved staircases lead from here up to the main deck, where you will find a roomy dining space and a formal living room. At the bow of the ship a further, wide deck space lined with teak flooring is available for sunbathing. Below-deck there are four well-appointed guest cabins, two crew cabins and a large master stateroom with direct access to the aft deck. The catamaran is fitted with twin Volvo engines for top speeds of 23 knots and a cruising speed of 18 knots.

Lazzara UHV 125

The largest vessel yet produced by Lazzara, the UHV 125 delivers on its name to provide Ultra High Volume both inside and out. Four large and lavish exterior decks, from the massive modular bow deck to the front of the boat, to the aft deck beach club with swimming platform at the rear, will doubtless become the go-to spots on this superyacht. A semi-sheltered skybridge, meanwhile, offers superb views from atop the vessel and enough room to fit a jacuzzi. Interiors are just as large, benefiting from the yacht’s 125 feet length and almost 29 feet wide beam. The vessel’s semi-custom build means that buyers can fit and refit interiors to their heart’s content, making this the ultimate, personalized party yacht.

Lazzara LSY 120

A yacht that combines the responsiveness and speed of a racing yacht with the amenity and space of a luxury superyacht, the LSY 120 is perhaps Lazzara’s flagship model. A sleek, ergonomic superstructure and hull is built out of epoxy and eGlass composite for durability and a lightweight feel, while triple Volvo engines will produce plenty of power. Lazzara Yachts

Lazzara Yachts has seen three generations of the Lazzara family design and build semi-custom, composite luxury yachts and superyachts in Tampa, Florida.

Founded in 1956 by Vince Lazzara, the shipyard builds contemporary luxury yachts conceived by an in-house team led by design director Joey Lazzara. Vince built Lazzara Yachts’ first large fiberglass sailing yacht, and followed her with several successful sailing yacht ventures, SeaRover houseboats, and the popular Gulfstar motorsailers and trawlers, which later merged with Viking Yachts.

In 1991, Dick and Brad Lazzara created Lazzara Yacht Corporation. After two years, the first Lazzara 23.75-metre yacht was introduced.

Some of the shipyard’s most successful models include the Lazzara LSX75, Lazzara LSX Quad 78, Lazzara 80, and Lazzara LSX 92. The shipyard’s largest launch is the Lazzara 116 superyacht.

Brothers Dick and Brad Lazzara formed the Lazzara Yacht in 1991, but the company’s roots go back to the 1960s when father Vince Lazzara established sailboat-builder Columbia Yachts. Following the sale of Columbia in 1967, Lazzara and sons established Gulfstar Yachts which went on to market a series of successful fiberglass motoryachts and motorsailers. In 1987 Gulfstar merged with Viking Yachts to form the Viking-Gulfstar line of motoryachts, but the luxury tax of 1990 caused the venture to fail. The brothers sold their interest in Gulfstar to Viking and, in 1990, founded Lazzara Yachts. By 1992 the company’s first yacht, the Lazzara 76, was launched. Lazzara continued to build highly personalized yachts through it’s 106, 110, and 116 product lines. No two 100 footers built by Lazzara ha ve been the same.

“Daddy's Lady” is a one of a kind, beautiful 84' Lazzara Skylounge Motor Yacht. Refit in 2019 and maintained at very high standards, Daddy's Lady looks brand new. She was a semi-custom build by Lazzara with many custom features not seen on other Lazzara Yachts.  An unmatched master stateroom including his and her private heads, jacuzzi, separate walk-in shower, and two large walk in closets, and significant linen and toiletry storage for comfortable journeys. Daddy's Lady has three additional guest staterooms, each with ensuite baths, a day head on the main level, and 2 crew quarters with separate full bathroom. The layout of Daddy's Lady is great for entertaining and long cruising. She is fast,  runs comfortably, and her layout has no steps on the main level unlike other ships of her size.

Her enclosed, air conditioned pilot house has a raised dinette for owner or crew use and she has a large covered aft deck, dinning, and entertainment area.

“Daddy's Lady” current owners purchased the vessel in 2017. Though the vessel was in superb condition they had desires to bring her to todays technology. After nearly two years of cruising, “Daddy's Lady” underwent a complete refit of all of her ship systems, helm, fly bridge, and bow by quality craftsmen at Lauderdale Marine Center.

LOWER AFT DECK

FLYBRIDGE & PILOTHOUSE

The climate controlled pilot house can be accessed via pocketing sliding glass doors from the aft deck of the bridge and through an internal stair-case from the vessel galley. The pilot house is fully enclosed with raised observation dinette on port side with table. When the vessel was refit by her current owner the entire dash with navigation electronics was removed and re-designed with a modern nav-pod for (4) Garmin glass navigation monitors as well as the in-dash electronics were also removed and replaced with new LCD equipment. Daddy's Lady has a large under hardtop entertainment area covering an L-shaped comfortable couch with large dining table for 8-10 guest. Also under the hardtop is a large undercover custom built-in server on the starboard side including Kenyon stainless steel electric grill, Summit (3) drawer stainless steel refrigerator, Summit (2) drawer stainless steel freezer, under the counter storage, and starboard side wet bar with Summit stainless steel ice maker. Additionally, the covered aft deck is airconditioned with air directed towards the dinette and seating. Aft of the covered deck is owner desired seating under open sky or custom sunshades. The aft deck is enclosed by a combination of custom stainless and glass, and stainless line rails with no break in the visuals of the water while ensuring child and pet safety. The port sidewall of the flybridge contains a fully-integrated, aesthetically pleasing crane for tender and other provisioning lifts.

BOW SEATING

The bow seating was completely rebuilt from the original sunpad arrangement. A couch and table configuration as well as sunpad makes the bow a favorite spot for all. Additionally, there is a sunshade to cover the sunpad and seating area.

The salon is accessed via sliding glass doors on the aft deck of the vessel. Once you enter the salon your greeted with large windows providing an abundance of light into the salon. There are modern, adjustable neck rest style couches port and starboard of the salon as you enter. Starboard and aft is a large built-in TV cabinet with 50" TV. Forward of the salon is a large walk behind bar with barstools for 3. In addition to wine refrigeration, the bar has beverage and additional galley refrigeration.  At the factory during the original build the formal dinning area was fitted with a walk behind bar for entertaining or for a great work space. The current owners enjoy the bar as their traveling office space, with panoramic views. 

COUNTRY KITCHEN, REFRIGERATION AND PROVISION STORAGE

Lazzara built one of the best country kitchen galleys in the marine industry and the 84 was not to be beat. With bow facing, panoramic views, the galley is a favorite location. The galley includes a large dinette seating area forward with seating for 8-10. All of the large appliances are Kitchen Aid, stainless steel, and household sized. They include double door refrigerator/freezer, oven, cooktop, microwave convection oven, and dishwasher. In addition there is a Summit 2 drawer freezer. A large pantry, under bow storage, and day head in the galley. Daddy's Lady has great storage and refrigeration/freezer space on board to make long journeys easy. 

OWNER & GUEST CABINS

The Owner/VIP and guest cabins are accessed through two separate stair cases. One is in the salon that leads to the owners cabin and VIP guest cabin. At the bottom of the stair case is a large foyer landing with wood flooring and art niche. Also in the foyer is a stacked Electrolux stainless steel washer/dryer and separate linen closet. Aft of the foyer is a double door entry into the master cabin. The master cabin is full beam with king sized bed. There are built-in dressers port and starboard of the bed, large walk-in closet to starboard, built-in 50" TV forward of the bed, and entry into the master bath suite to port. The master bath was custom from Lazzara at the factory which includes his and hers private heads, separate jacuzzi tub and walk in shower. There are also two separate vanities and an additional walk-in closet in the bath. The size of this bath is not surpassed by anything in the 100'-150' class.

Located forward of the owners cabin, the VIP features walk around queen bed, hull side window, hanging closet, dresser and drawers, and private head with walk-in shower and wall hung TV.

Bow VIP is accessed via stair case forward of galley. Stateroom features queen bed, hanging closet, large dresser with drawers, private bath with separate shower. In the guest foyer is a 2nd stacked Electrolux stainless steel washer/dryer for guest use. The hall closet houses the central vac.

Crew features two staterooms with private head and separate shower. Crew is accessed via transom door and has access into engine room as well. ENGINE ROOM

Engine room is accessed through the transom and crew quarters. The room contains the majority of the ships systems. This allows for the majority of service to be preformed in this area sparing the rest of the vessel from service traffic. The room is in new condition and is painted in high gloss white. A reconfiguration of the company in 2015 ensured the company’s success under the Avanti Ocean Group as Lazzara Custom Yachts and Tampa Marine Services. Lazzara Custom Yachts set a focus on yacht builds and Tampa Marine Services as a refit and maintenance facility. The first generation began in the 1970s with boat-builder Vince Lazzara, a sailboat manufacturer.

From Express to Catamarans, Lazzara Meets Boaters Needs

Lazzara Yachts are built to meet a variety of maritime needs, with diverse models including express yachts, sport yachts, motor yachts, ultra-high-volume vessels, and catamarans.

Express LSX

• Lazzara LSX 67   The LSX 67 is designed with oversized hull windows for superb light. This 67-foot (20.4m) luxury yacht is a comfortable ride, the Volvo twin IPS 1200 engines (optional 1350s) reach a top speed of 42 knots and cruise at 36 knots with 766 gallons (2900 liters) in the tank.

Lounge areas are versatile and can be expanded forward and aft and the overall design affords easy launch capabilities for a jet-ski or tender off the open transom. Port and starboard teak steps add to access and safety onboard. An electric sunroof opens to the stars on the top deck. This model’s 16-foot (4.9m) beam and a 4-foot 6-inch (1.4m) draft allow for ample storage and a full-beam stateroom. Several configuration options are available - either six guest cabins and three staterooms or eight guest cabins and four staterooms.

• Lazzara LSX 85

Taking the best of technology and innovation from two top Lazzara models, the LSX 85 meets both express and sport yacht owner expectations by integrating highlights of the LSX 67 and the LSY95.

At 84-feet 6-inches (25.74m) overall length, the optimal use of space was a design priority using the entire 20-foot beam. Teak patio doors fold down to port and starboard to expand access to the entertainment area on the transom and fold-out doors are also on the forward lounge, sun pad, and galley lounge balcony. The feel of spaciousness continues with a sliding glass door in the master suite and main deck, as well as two gull-wing doors. Guest cabins are aft and a full-beam master is at the stern. The crew are housed at the bow with two berths and heads.

A comfortable cruiser, the Lazzara LSX 85 has a draft of 5-feet 2-inches (1.57m) and triple Volvo IPS 1200 engines come standard to power to top speed of 42 knots with cruising speed of 35 knots with 1250 gallons (4731 liters) of fuel.

• Lazzara LSY 95

At 95-feet (29m) the Lazzara LSY 95 makes use of every bit of the 20-foot 8-inch (6.3m) beam. Triple Volvo IPS 1200 engines come standard with the option for Volvo 1350s. A deep-V hull and carbon fiber throughout the vessel increase efficiency and the 4-foot 10-inch (1.47m) draft makes for a nice ride. The LSY 95 can reach a top speed of 32 knots with comfortable cruising at 28 knots with 1,700 gallons (6,435 liters) in the fuel tank.

Two crew cabins are located forward with extra access from a helm station staircase. Ten guests enjoy plenty of privacy in five staterooms - one a full-beam master suite, each with en-suite head and ample storage. This configuration with crew forward allows for privacy and the option to charter the yacht.

On deck, an extendable electric sunshade from the flybridge adds protection from elements, and a sufficient garage houses a tender or personal watercraft.

• Lazzara LSY 120

Lazzara’s LSY 120 features loads of oversized hull windows for a distinctive design that integrates nature and luxurious amenities at the same time in this 120-foot (36.5m) yacht. The epoxy and eGlass fiberglass composite construction optimizes the weight and space of the 23-foot 8-inch (7.2m) beam. Three cabins for six crew members, as well as five staterooms for 10 guests, allow for private or charter use. Lazzara boasts that the LSY 120 is the only sport yacht to have two side balconies.

• Lazzara LMY 125

Under construction in 2020, the LMY 125 is Lazzara’s largest model yet at 38 meters with a 26-foot (8m) beam and a 6-foot 6-inch (1.98m) draft. Equipped with standard twin MTU 16v 2000 M96L engines, this yacht enjoys a smooth ride at a top speed of 26 knots and cruises at 22 knots with 7,500 gallons (28,390 liters) of fuel in the tank.

Ultra High Volume UHV

• Lazzara UHV 87

The UHV 87 is Lazzara’s 26.5-meter ultra high volume yacht that uses every bit of the 23-and-a half foot beam (7.17m) in this 170 gross ton full-displacement design. Extensive use of glass, including floor-to-ceiling windows, sliding doors, and a glass bulwark add to the spaciousness of this epoxy eGlass and carbon composite construction yacht.

Cruising is safe with a well-thought-out helm station and a 180-degree elevated navigator view. Standard twin Volvo D11-720 BHP engines (optional D13-1000 BHP) and twin Cummins Onan 27 kW generators create a smooth ride to a top speed of 16 knots and cruising speed of 12 knots. About 3,082 gallons (11,670 liters) in the fuel tank allows for a cruising range of more than 2,000 nautical miles.

The galley includes full-size Miele appliances and the captain and engineers will appreciate the clear layout of piping and wiring for efficient maintenance and service. Models include several layout options, a configuration with the master suite on the main deck and a salon on the upper deck or a master on the upper deck and a country kitchen on the main deck.

• Lazzara UHV 100

With even more exterior and interior space than the UHV 87, the Lazzara UHV 100 fills out the upper, main, and forward decks. Several model options include a master terrace on the aft upper deck with the master suite on the second deck, this creates an expansive galley on the main deck, as well as a country kitchen or a configuration with the master suite on the main deck. Five staterooms house 10 guests and three cabins employ five crew. The 30.5m luxury yacht boasts a beam of nearly 24-feet (7.2m) with a draft of 5-feet 3-inches (1.6 m).

• Lazzara UHV 125

The UHV 125 is versatile and voluminous, and design options take advantage of every bit of the 38-meter length and nearly 29-foot (8.7m) beam of the epoxy and eGlass composite construction. Models vary with added amenities including jacuzzis or davits on deck. Accommodations can place the master suite and country kitchen in several locations, as well as the five guest cabins. Seven crew are housed in a captain’s cabin in the bridge and four cabins.

Catamaran LPC

• Lazzara LPC 85

The LPC 85 (25.9m) packs a lot of luxury into the 35-foot (10.6m) beam of this 180 gross ton luxury power catamaran. The spaciousness is enhanced with sliding glass doors to port, starboard, and aft, as well as glass bulwarks. The ample deck area allows for a tender up to 26 feet (8m) and up to four personal watercraft. Accommodations include a full-beam master stateroom with port and starboard fold-out balconies, cabins for ten guests, and rooms for five crew.

• Lazzara LPC 70

Lazzara’s LPC 70 luxury power catamaran accommodates 10 guests in four suites and three crew in two cabins. The master suite expands with a starboard fold-out balcony and sliding glass doors add to access and space at the port, starboard, and aft positions. The 27-foot (8.2m) beam allows for the storage of an 18-foot tender (5.4m) and two personal watercraft.
