SOLD - 130’ Wally sailing yacht ANGEL’S SHARE

KK Superyachts announced today the sale of the 40m sailing yacht Angel’s Share, listed by Jukka Kaukonen, with a special mention to Stefano Roberti from Wally Yachts introducing the buyer.

Built by Wally Yachts with naval architecture by Javier Soto, Angel’s Share was first launched in 2009.

Angel’s Share was extensively rebuilt and refitted by Lürssen in 2010. The outstanding works by the German shipyard, coupled with remarkable interiors by Eidsgaard Design and stunning deck structure by Amanda Levete Architects, awarded Angel’s Share the World Superyachts’ Best Refit in 2011.

We are very proud of this particular sale. Angel’s Share is truly a connoisseur’s sailing yacht and we are very happy to have found a discerning owner for her. She has extensive racing credentials including her Class winning at the Newport Bucket Regatta in 2013. Angel’s Share also set a benchmark, being the first Wally ever to sail through the Panama Canal reaching the Pacific Jukka Kaukonen, KK Superyachts

Wally Yachts is known to build beautiful vessels. Sailing yacht Angel's Share from 2009 is no exception.

With an elegant dark blue hull and simple lines, Angel's Share is an impressive yacht. The 40m vessel is also a racer.

To ensure true sailing yacht performance and optimise safety, she features the water ballast combined with the lifting keel. The water ballast improves the stability of the light displacement boat (110 tons) while the 6-meter deep keel improves the righting moment. The deck bulwark leaves the hull lines pure while offering more privacy and protection, and containing amidships on both sides part of the water tanks. The stern features the iconic Terrace-on-the-sea, delivering the Wally inside-outside living concept: a 20 m2 uncluttered area at water level that can be accessed from both the main saloon inside, and the deck outside.

Angel's Share can accommodate ten guests and five crew members. The yacht went through an extensive refit at the Lurssen yard in Germany in 2016. She is currently for sale at a price of €11,950,000.

Owen Clarke provided a full range of naval architecture, yacht design, engineering, and project support to the owners of the Wally 130 Angels Share, both prior to purchase and during the extensive refit undertaken at Luursens. Our consultancy included tank testing leading to modifications to the yacht, load/force evaluation which resulted in a re-design/engineering of the rig, and deck layout, as well as a review of sailplan/performance of the yacht under the IRC and ORCsy rules. After her re-launch, designer Merfyn Owen continued to race onboard  undertaking load monitoring, performance and data analysis for several seasons until Angels Share was put up for sale by her owners.

the wally ‘angel’s share’ superyacht is a majestic creation by monaco-based shipyard wally yachts. this dark blue 40 meter long sailboat illustrates the synergy between naval designers and architects when the budget is of no concern. 

wally designed the ‘angel’s share’ on the premise to make a huge sailboat, capable of winning a race against any racing yacht, with navigation as nimble as a light sailing boat . after sketching 12 different hulls and holding countless hydrodynamic tests, the naval architect created a sloop from carbon fiber, plus a 60 meter-tall mast with a sail surface of 727 square meters, and a final displacement of 84 tons. 

the minimalist deck deserves special attention, conceived as clear, open space, without obstacles for people to choose where they prefer to relax on board. when thowing parties for the passengers, the table and futuristic banquette form a luxurious sunbathing area. located next to this are two steering wheels, where the whole boat can be controlled.

inside the ‘angel’s share’ there is space for twelve rooms –the captain’s cabin, two double cabins for the crew, a kitchen, a dining room for the crew, two engine rooms, two double cabins for guests and one single, plus not forgetting the shipowner’s cabin, and the main hall. up to eight people can stay on board, with five or six crew members ready to meet the shipowner’s family, and their guests with any request.

Angel's Share

From Dream to Angel’s Share: Ethereal Evolution

Built to strategic high performance racing standards and the clean design eye of Wally Yachts, the 2009 launch of the svelte, 140-foot racing sloop Wally Dream captured the 2010 Nautical Design Award for best sailing yacht over 24 meters. Embracing the Wally signatures of high bulwarks, innovative clean deck design, and lightweight carbon hulls, making them both fast and easy to sail, Dream was seen by many as the epitome of evolution, with exceptional naval engineering by Javier Soto Acebal.

Wally Yachts, through 10,000 hours of research and development, created a movable ballast system specifically for Dream to improve performance while increasing safety. Eleven tons of water, pumped into tanks in three minutes and taking just 30 seconds to move from one side to the other, was a part of the design to give this 95-ton light displacement yacht improved stability. A six-meter keel fitted with trim tab was assigned to increase lift, while the draft could be minimized to four meters, allowing access into shallower waters.

To strengthen the hull, construction called for unidirectional carbon fiber like that used in the America’s Cup yachts, ensuring rigidity while further shaving weight from the design. Additionally, the 60-meter mast employed advanced construction with Ultra High Modulus carbon fiber, keeping Dream’s weight profile light. These weight-saving technologies and designs all came together to create one of the fastest-sailing maxi yachts in the class.

One man’s dreams, however, can be another’s dilemma. Shortly after launch, Dream moved from yard to harbor to refit, undergoing an early transformation in 2010 at the German shipyard, Lurssen, as the masters took the good bones of the yacht and listened carefully to the owner’s instruction. Expressing the importance of maintaining the yacht’s original concept of lightweight construction and high performance, the owner called out an impressive list of refit items, and the transformation began.

Attention focused on enhanced performance of engine, electrical and piping systems to align with the owner’s ideals for blue water cruising. A review of rigging and sails, plus the fitting of an interceptor trim control system, were suggested to improve performance for both racing and cruising statistics.

Aesthetically, the yacht would undergo significant change. Re-fairing and repainting the hull would take it from white to dark blue. A redesign of the deck would remove the square, spare social area, ultimately replacing it with a smooth, flowing, silver and white seating sculpture in an artistic, graceful wave atop new decking. Interiors would get an upgrade to meet the owner’s standards for elegance, luxury, and comfort, without sacrificing weight or performance.

K&K signs superyacht Angel's Share for sale

A call to Jukka Kaukonen at K&K in Monaco brings more details of his latest listing, the 28.55m Wally sailing yacht Angel's Share , formerly known as Y3K .

A stylish fast cruising sloop built in 2003, she successfully integrates the performance of a maxi racer and the characteristics of an ocean cruiser that can be easily and safely sailed in the rough waters of the North Atlantic. Below deck, the interior is warm and cosy, and uniquely features cherry wood veneers with the grain running horizontally. The owner’s stateroom is aft and features two separate queen sized beds, while the two guest cabins are forward of the saloon, each having a queen size bed and a Pullman berth. This superyacht has been upgraded annually including new teak decks in 2009 and is asking €7 million, VAT paid.

The Wally 130 Angel's Share Yacht

Super-yachts push the edges of what is possible in design, so much so that they've intrigued brains as diverse as that of avant-garde architect Zaha Hadid and Formula One's resident genius Adrian Newey, of the Red Bull team.

At Monaco-based Wally Yachts, the 130 Angel's Share is something of a breakthrough, even in this august company. This extraordinary vessel combines the ability to race as fast as any of the maxi-yachts, with the ease of sailing a dinghy.

At 130 feet long, this mega-yacht is the brainchild of the Argentinian Javier Soto Acebal, who headed a team that put in 10,000 hours first to conceive the unique concept of the 130 Angel's Share, and then to build it.

The result is one of the ultimate examples of form following function.

The yacht's unique secret is the capacity to carry - and shift as required - 11 tons of water ballast. The water can be pumped into the yacht's tanks in three minutes - and moved from one side to the other in 30 seconds. There's extensive use of carbon fibre in the construction, including on the 60 metre mast.

Design connoisseurs will find an on-deck concept derived from a loft apartment, with no clutter, leaving plenty of room for both crew and lounging. There's a separate terrace at sea level and no shortage of luxury below deck.

London based marine specialists Eidsgaard Design have provided a sumptuous owner's suite, along with four other guest cabins as well as crew accommodation. A large main saloon opens onto the private sea level terrace.

the wally ‘angel’s share’ superyacht is a majestic creation by monaco-based shipyard wally yachts. this dark blue 40 meter long sailboat illustrates the synergy between naval designers and architects when the budget is of no concern. 

wally designed the ‘angel’s share’ on the premise to make a huge sailboat, capable of winning a race against any racing yacht, with navigation as nimble as a light sailing boat . after sketching 12 different hulls and holding countless hydrodynamic tests, the naval architect created a sloop from carbon fiber, plus a 60 meter-tall mast with a sail surface of 727 square meters, and a final displacement of 84 tons. 

the minimalist deck deserves special attention, conceived as clear, open space, without obstacles for people to choose where they prefer to relax on board. when thowing parties for the passengers, the table and futuristic banquette form a luxurious sunbathing area. located next to this are two steering wheels, where the whole boat can be controlled.

inside the ‘angel’s share’ there is space for twelve rooms –the captain’s cabin, two double cabins for the crew, a kitchen, a dining room for the crew, two engine rooms, two double cabins for guests and one single, plus not forgetting the shipowner’s cabin, and the main hall. up to eight people can stay on board, with five or six crew members ready to meet the shipowner’s family, and their guests with any request.

Angel’s Share ex.Dream is head turning luxury sailing charter yacht, built by the Wally Yachts launched in 2009 as Wally 130 model. Her naval architecture is by Javier Soto Acebal with amazing exterior styling by Amanda Levete. Her with beautiful, light, airy, minimalistic and adjustable interior is by Eidsgaard design. She is performance sailboat offering teak laid deck equipped with a Hall Spar mast and boom, rigging from PBO Futurue and stunning selection of main and down wind sails produced by the North Sails and One sail. She is fantastic racing sailing boat with incredible performances! In 2010 she went to an extensive refit in the German superyacht yard Lürssen, where she was upgraded inside out and as result, she was awarded as the best refitted yacht by the World Superyacht Awards in 2011. Her salon offers minimalistic styling with the lounge on the starboard side and formal dining table on the port side and accommodation up to ten charter guests in the four air conditioned cabins. Master cabin offers queen sized bed, night tables and en-suite with the shower. Two double cabins are modular offering two single beds and/or when converted than double berth with Pullman beds. As addition her office is also convertible into a cabin with one bunk bed. All her cabins are with en-suites.

Angel’s Share is powered by one MAN LE 401 EDS diesel engine developing 455 taking her composite hull with lifting keel up to 14.0 Knots and with cruising speed of 12.0 Knots and range of 1500 Nautical Miles. She is manned by professional and experienced crew of five members.

We use MYBA ( The Worldwide Yachting Association) agreements produced to standardize charter terms and protect the Charterer ( You) , the Owner, and the Agent/Broker.

It has standard protections and escalation clauses in case any problems arise.

Once you have signed a MYBA charter contract, you are obligated to pay the entire charter regardless you actually board the yacht.

In exceptional cases, you may be able to cancel, but monies will be refunded only if the yacht can be chartered to another client, therefore many we suggest purchase of insurance against cancellation.

Charter fee is paid in two rates ; 50% of charter fee when the charter contract is signed and 50 % 4 weeks before charter commencement. Extra expenses are charged with Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA). APA is usually 25 % to 30 % of total charter fee and also depending on your itinerary, food, beverages etc. Captain will keep accurate records of funds spent during your charter and at the end of the charter, you will be refunded the difference, or you will asked to pay more during the cruise if further running costs are incurred.

The multi-award winning 39m/127'11" sail yacht 'Black Sails' (ex. Cannonball) was built by Wally in Italy at their Fano shipyard. Her interior is styled by Italian designer design house Wally and she was completed in 2009. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Javier Soto Acebal and she was last refitted in 2010.

Black Sails has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests in 4 suites comprising one VIP cabin. She is also capable of carrying up to 5 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Range & Performance

Black Sails is built with a composite hull and composite superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by 1 x diesel MAN (D 0836 LE401 EDS) 450hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 12 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 14 knots. Her water tanks store around 2,000 Litres of fresh water. She was built to RINA (Registro Italiano Navale) classification society rules.

Travis Scott arrested in Paris after fight with his bodyguard, hotel security guard

Hip-hop star Travis Scott was arrested in Paris early Friday morning on suspicion of getting into an altercation at the Georges V hotel.

The “Sicko Mode” emcee, whose legal name is Jacques Bermon Webster , was detained after Paris police were called to the hotel soon after 5 a.m. to arrest a man “nicknamed Travis Scott for violence against a security guard,” the Paris public prosecutor’s office said in a statement to The Times.

A hotel security guard intervened in an altercation between the 33-year-old musician and his bodyguard, the statement said. Police are still investigating the incident.

The 10-time Grammy-nominated rap artist — best known for his “Astroworld” album and last year’s “Utopia” — was in the French capital for the Paris Olympics, where he attended the U.S. men’s basketball team rally against Serbia in the semifinal Thursday night.

Scott had been in the city for several days and had been “chased and harassed” by paparazzi during that time and on Friday, according to a person familiar with the matter who was not authorized to speak publicly. The rapper had been swarmed at his hotel Friday and received no help, which led to the fight.

Scott was transported from the hotel in an ambulance and taken to the hospital to be checked for injuries after several vases were shattered during the altercation, TMZ reported Friday, posting video of the arrest .

The musician was not injured during the incident, The Times confirmed, but he remains in police custody and is expected to be released shortly. No charges have yet been filed.

“We are in direct communication with the local Parisian authorities to swiftly resolve this matter and will provide updates when appropriate,” a spokesperson for Scott said Friday in a statement to The Times.

In June, the “Highest in the Room” rapper spent the night in a Miami jail after being arrested on suspicion of trespassing and disorderly intoxication following an incident at the Miami Beach Marina. The state of Florida on Thursday dropped its disorderly intoxication charge against him, but Scott still faces the trespassing charge. The case is scheduled to go to trial Sept. 10.

(Zane Irwin/AP) DAKAR, Senegal — The captain of a migrant boat that capsized off Senegal over the weekend was arrested, local authorities said Tuesday, as the death toll rose to 26. Cheikh Sall, the owner and captain of the boat, turned himself in Monday, Amadou Diop, the district’s prefect, told The Associated Press. The death toll of the capsizing rose to 26, Senegal’s navy said on the social media platform X on Tuesday. The artisanal fishing boat left the town of Mbour, nearly 80 kilometers (50 miles) south of the capital Dakar heading to Europe on Sunday afternoon before capsizing a few miles (kilometers) off the coast. In recent years, the number of migrants leaving West Africa through Senegal has surged with many fleeing conflict, poverty and the lack of job opportunities. Most head to the Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago off the coast of West Africa, which is used as a stepping stone to continental Europe. Since the beginning of the year, more than 22,300 people have landed on the Canary Islands, 126% more than the same period last year, according to statistics released by Spain’s Interior Ministry. Last month, the Senegalese army said it had arrested 453 migrants and “members of smuggling networks” as part of a 12-day operation patrolling the coastline. More than half of those arrested were Senegalese nationals, the army said. In July, a boat carrying 300 migrants, mostly from Gambia and Senegal, capsized off Mauritania. More than a dozen died and at least 150 others went missing. The Atlantic route from West Africa to the Canary Islands is one of the deadliest in the world. While there is no accurate death toll because of the lack of information on departures from West Africa, the Spanish migrant rights group Walking Borders estimates the victims are in the thousands this year alone. Migrant vessels that get lost or run into problems often vanish in the Atlantic, with some drifting across the ocean for months until they are found in the Caribbean and Latin America carrying only human remains. A 70-year-old woman has died of injuries she sustained in an August crash involving a sailboat and a motorboat in Hingham Bay. On Aug. 16 at about 12:43 p.m., Weymouth and Hingham first responders were called to the area off Grape Island for a report of a collision involving a 38-foot Sea Ray motorboat and a 21-foot Pisces sailboat. Two people were critically injured and taken to nearby hospitals for care. Patricia Cicalese, 70, of East Walpole, died on Sept. 7, the Norfolk County District Attorney said. Her husband remains hospitalized in critical condition. According to a police report, the powerboat was heading away from Hingham into the main channel at about 17 mph when it hit the sailboat. The motorboat operator said he saw a small fishing boat crossing the channel about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile ahead and he was paying attention to that. But "when he turned his head back, he saw the sailboat, but it was too late." The driver said when he saw the sailboat cut across his bow, "he stated it was too late and he grabbed the steering wheel first and realized he wasn't going to be able to avoid it and powered down his vessel. He tried to turn hard to the starboard side, but could not avoid the collision," according to the police report. The crash submerged the sailboat, leaving only the top of its mast and the tip of the bow visible above the waterline. Investigators have questioned the two people on the motorboat who were not seriously injured. Investigators have searched both boats and removed an electronic device from the motorboat at a marina in Quincy. They said the device may have recorded the motorboat's position, speed and direction. The device has been turned it over to be examined by experts with the U.S. Coast Guard. The crash remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police detectives from the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office and the Massachusetts Environmental Police. Sheriff: 2 people rescued after being thrown from boat on Higgins Lake ROSCOMMON CO., Mich. (WNEM) - Two people are recovering after they were thrown from a boat on Higgins Lake, the Roscommon County Sheriff’s Office said. The sheriff’s office said on Monday, Sept. 9, deputies were dispatched to a boating accident on Higgins Lake, about a mile out form the west shore access. Roscommon Central Dispatch said two people were thrown from the boat, and were in the water without lifejackets, the sheriff’s office said. Central Dispatch said it was suspected the people suffered broken bones. According to the sheriff’s office, third-party boaters were trying to help the people in the water but they weren’t able to get them onto their boat. Roscommon County Marine Patrol responded to the scene, along with Sgt. Burmester and Deputy Oneil who borrowed a pontoon boat from a person in the area, the sheriff’s office said. Upon arrival to the scene, deputies found a boat with significant damage and the two injured people still floating in the water, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies got both people onto the vessel and took them to shore where EMS was waiting to give them treatment and transport. On Aug. 16, a 38-foot Sea Ray motorboat and a 21-foot Pisces sailing vessel collided in an area off Grape Island on Aug. 16. Emergency responders from Weymouth and Hingham responded to the crash at 12:43 p.m. and found two people who had sustained critical injuries, officials said. One of them, Patricia Cicalese, 70, died Sept. 7, officials said. The other person remains in the hospital in critical condition. Cicalese’s death is under investigation by State Police detectives assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s office and the Massachusetts Environmental Police, the statement said.
