How it all started.
Founded by the (late) paul coleiro in 1976, at the time, the company was a pioneer in the supply of paints and garage equipment. today, jointly managed by his sons louis and kenneth, the group has evolved in various sectors such as property, marine, yachting, oil and gas, and aerospace. the group is complemented by a dedicated team of over 200 workers..
Evolving from Coleiro Auto Parts, Paul Coleiro in 1976 founded Coleiro General Supplies Limited in Malta being at the time an innovative and technologically advanced company to the extent that it was the first private company to have a computerised accounts and invoicing system in Malta. The company’s main activity was in the supply and repair of garage and spray painting equipment together with the supply of automotive and industrial paints. During the years, the Group evolved and is now comprising of Coleiro General Supplies Limited, Pentagon Paints, Auto Finishes, Coleiro Yacht Finishes Limited, Coliparts, Yacht Pride SRL, Navigo Malta, Yacht Refit Masters and Omegayacht Promo.
Today, the Group has achieved an impeccable A-rating standard through its hard work, professionalism and good working practices. The Group can offer any service or supply of paint to any object between an aircraft and a submarine, including the two! The paint training school inaugurated in 1985 was the bridge between the supply of specialised paints and their application. During the years, this paint school, which is recognised by the Maltese Government, has been extremely beneficial to customers, students and also in-house workers over the many years of its operation. At present, the school is used as a training centre by paint suppliers and paint equipment suppliers to promote their products and demonstrate the best method of application. The five local outlets, the paint factory, our representation in Libya and Tunisia, premises in Viareggio and over 200 dedicated employees surely contribute to offer a 360 degrees service to any service related to the Group’s activity. Our team of engineers who are committed to offer and sustain our after sales service are also continuously being trained overseas by our suppliers in order to keep abreast with the new technological developments. Whilst it is our satisfaction that a considerable number of our workers have been in our team averaging well over 20 years of service, we are also actively involved in the training of new recruits.
Pentagon Paints Ltd. was amongst the first evidential growth of the Coleiro Group when in the early 80’s, we set up our own paint manufacturing plant now located in Marsa, Malta. Pentagon Paints Ltd. specialises in the manufacturing of automotive and specialised industrial and marine paints. In this factory, tailor-made paint products are manufactured according to customers’ requirements and to suit any application required. Pentagon Paints also exports in England, Middle East and Africa.
The company has also diversified to increase its strength by supplying passenger lifts, car and truck washes, development of property, industrial and domestic floor resin applications and supply in sole-agency original auto parts such as Magenti Marelli to which the latter is operated by Coliparts in Qormi, Malta.
Through the vast experience achieved in the maritime sector in collaboration with prominent yards worldwide in various activities, the Coleiro Group has worked in the development of marinas, ports and other maritime and environmental services overseas, in particular in Italy in collaboration with Na.Vi.Go. s.c.a r.l. and Modimar SRL. With Na.Vi.Go. s.c.a r.l., the Coleiro Group has extended its collaboration by the setting up of Navigo Malta in collaboration with MTA and the support of the Maltese Government.
YachtMaster Refits
YachtMaster Refits is a member of the Coleiro Group in which it enhances the maritime strength within the Group itself. This company specialises in the refit management, operating from Malta and from Viareggio to be of service to yachts through its contacts with suppliers and craftsmen within the sector. YachtMaster Refits works in collaboration with prominent marine yacht surveyors, designers and engineers.
Navigo Malta
Following the success of Na.Vi.Go. s.c.a r.l., this organisation collaborating with the Coleiro Group offers peace of mind to any yacht owner, yacht managing company or captain, who requires a service in the Mediterranean. The vast experience enjoyed by Navigo. is appreciated by large entities such as investors and developers. Navigo is an aid in the tourism sector and consulted by Governmental institutions to set up policies and help in the design and promotion of EU environmental projects, especially within the maritime sector.

Superyacht Pride Available in West Med

The recently delivered 45 metre superyacht Pride is available to charter in the West Mediterranean this summer.
Launched in September 2012 by Mondo Marine , Motor Yacht Pride offers large exterior spaces, including a generous sundeck and a beach club. Her interior layout provides accommodation for 12 charter guests in six staterooms - a full-beam master suite which features two side balconies, a full-beam VIP, two double staterooms and two twins. Pride is powered by twin Caterpillar C-32 engines that push her to a top speed of 14 knots, a cruising speed of 12.5 knots and a range of 5,200 nautical miles at 10 knots. Charter rates aboard Pride begin at €210,000 poer week.

Made in China and built with Pride
After a lengthy construction, the $145m m/y illusion plus is set to make her maiden voyage to europe for the mys….
It’s approaching eight years since the keel for an 80m-plus superyacht was laid by CIMC Raffles Yacht Ltd in China’s Yantai Peninsula – a project that was to be built for the owner of the company, despite it being something of a foray into unfamiliar territory for a specialist container ship and oil rig builder.
The rest, as they say, is history – and rather a lot of it. “The owner of the shipyard started building the vessel for himself and then sold it, along with the shipyard, to a new owning entity which decided that it didn’t fall into the bracket of business they were in,” recalls Y.CO sales broker, Max Bulley, in an exclusive conversation with SuperyachtNews .
Consequently, the hull was put on hold and listed for sale in October 2011 while the shipyard pursued other commercial endeavors. However, this soon changed – an internal management reshuffle at the company led to the shipyard kneading its focus back to completing the project.
2013 proved to be a milestone year for the project’s progression – the hull and superstructure were joined; the company completed its rebrand as Pride Mega Yachts to better assert its interest in superyachts; and Jan-Jaap Minnema of Fraser listed the incomplete vessel for sale at $89.5 million.
In August 2014, Fraser completed the sale of the vessel, with bluewater introducing the buyer, although hopes of a cut-and-dry transaction were quickly dashed. In fact, the project ended up back in the shipyard's ownership after some alleged friction between the shipyard and the client. She is, therefore, a ‘spec’ boat, built to an exterior design by Rainsford Saunders Design.
Y.CO was appointed by the shipyard in January 2018 to market the vessel, which was eventually renamed by the shipyard as Illusion Plus , for sale. Now (August 2018), almost exactly four months after her launch, Illusion Plus is ready to set sail and embark on her maiden voyage to Europe for the Monaco Yacht Show in September, however she will remain privately operated to maintain her condition.
The asking price of $145 million for Illusion Plus is difficult to ignore, but as Bulley and I discuss the numbers, he is right to point out that, with a volume of 3,642 gross tons, it equates to €35,000/gross ton, which is competitive. “If you’re looking at a Benetti yacht of about the same size, you’re likely to see asking prices between €42,000–45,000 per gross ton and then any Northern European shipyard is €50,000–60,000 per gross ton – sometimes, they may even be beyond €65,000 per gross ton,” continues Bulley.

As a commercial builder by trade, Bulley says the yard has built the vessel to an excellent technical specification, and has discerningly outsourced to a knowledgeable foreign build team for solutions and advice, rather than trying to reinvent the wheel.
“When you go through all the engineering spaces; the engine room and the pump rooms, it’s well thought out and built to a high standard. It has Heinen & Hopman HVAC and a Rolls-Royce diesel-electric propulsion package, which incorporates a high degree of redundancy and an energy-efficient operation,” he explains.
The interior of the vessel was created by Sinot Yacht Design, although the build team for the interior was based in Dubai. Bulley describes it as “very modern” and “clean”, adding: “It does have some Asian highlights and features but nothing too heavy. It’s a great design for someone to come in and add artwork or change furnishings and just make it your own.”
Understandably, there has reportedly been a lot of interest from Asian clients due to the prestige of Illusion Plus having been built on home turf. But she remains very much for sale through Y.CO and she will be undoubtedly worth a visit when she makes her debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in September.
