Launched at the 2019 Cannes Yachting Festival , the Absolute 47 is the smallest flybridge in the Italian yard’s range, but that hasn’t stopped them from packing in many of the features that make their larger models so appealing.

In this video, filmed at the 2020 Dusseldorf Boat Show , Nick Burnham shows us all of the 47’s clever tricks, from the offset double cabin in the bow to the impressive walk-in wardrobe in the amidships guest cabin.

The deck spaces are equally impressive, with a convertible foredeck seating area, which doubles up as a sunpad when needed.

Being an Italian yacht, the Absolute 47 is not lacking in design flair either, with smart recessed lighting throughout the boat, including the cockpit, saloon and flybridge.

The innovative 47 FLY perfectly embodies Absolute Yachts’ spirit. Her comfortable wide spaces and powerful technology can take you anywhere in total safety, offering an absolute navigation experience.

The flybridge is large, well-organized, and equipped with a BBQ station. There is a generous relaxation area and a large sunbed alongside the helm station, allowing you to navigate surrounded by friends while being immersed in the panoramic view.

The bow area is an inviting sundeck that is accessible via safe side-walkways and protected by high, ergonomic handrails.

On the main deck you can experience maximum liveability. The well-equipped galley easily joins the aft cockpit creating an open space that is cosy, beautiful and very functional.

The pillar-free windows offer a breath-taking panorama: the view from the inside is complete and the amount of light is surprising.

The saloon has a double sofa with a table, a multi-media area, and designer interiors with refined details. Moreover, the air conditioning system in all rooms is ergonomic and the driving helm has a comfortable side door, a useful feature during manoeuvring operations.

The lower deck offers two double cabins, a twin cabin, and two heads. All of the guest cabins feature high ceilings and harmonious lines.

The master cabin is at the bow, raised from the floating level without steps, and with a spacious closet. A vanity desk and an ensuite head with a porthole in the shower are also present.

Finally, the refined VIP cabin has high-quality materials, beautiful finishes, a double bed accessible on three sides, a walk-in closet, and panoramic windows in two of the cabins.

Absolute Yachts 47 Flybridge

The Absolute 47 Flybridge may be the "biggest little yacht" you've ever had the pleasure of stepping on board. Absolute's signature Italian style is hard to miss on the 47 Fly as the massive windows make the flybridge appear to be suspended in mid-air. While the new Absolute model can comfortably accommodate 8 people on board, it is also very manageable to take out as a couple for a more personal experience. Absolute will phase out the 45 Flybridge as the new 47 Flybridge design offers an even greater commitment to their mantra of "space and light" on board every yacht.

As with all of their models, Absolute does a phenomenal job creating intelligently designed living spaces in each of its outdoor areas. 

Bow Lounge : While most yacht builders throw down a few sunpads and call it a day, the Absolute 47 features a wonderful social area for sunbathing, dining, or enjoying the view while at a slow cruise. An optional canopy can be easily inserted into four spaces that provides shade and comfort while at anchor. A U-shaped sofa has the ability to convert into normal seating or a 3-4 person sunpad. An adjustable pedastal table can be brought up to create another outdoor dining space.

Cockpit Area : Absolute has once again found subtle ways of enhancing ordinary spaces on a boat. The 47 flybridge aft cockpit features a couch with large table that can seat 4-5 with chairs. While the flybridge over hand does offer shade, the cockpit is often hit with the late afternoon sun which can be uncomfortable. The Absolute 47 features a retractable sun shade that pulls down behind the cockpit couch. Additionally, there is a glass window on the port wide of the salon sliding doors that opens and connects the cockpit with the galley for serving drinks and food with ease.

Flybridge : Always a favorite place on any Absolute, the flybridge on the 47 is designed so well your guests may never want to leave. The helm is placed starboard and has all of the electronics needed including a joystick. Adjacent to the helm is a large 3-person sunpad with adjustable back rests. Separating this area from the back of the bridge on the starboard side is a wet bar and bbq grill. Aft on the flybridge is a U-shaped couch and large table for dining with panoramic views.

Absolute uses the very best materials possible to create a luxurious, yet comfortable feeling in the interior living spaces. The light colors, large windows, and abundance of space might feel European in style, but the usability of the 47 Flybridge is exactly what the American market has asked for.

With an aft galley that includes full-size appliances, plenty of storage, and counter space, cooking and serving multiple guests in either the cockpit or the dining area is convenient. A retractable television is hidden behind the sofa on the starboard side and can be stored away with the press of a button. A U-shaped couch and table make up the dining area which is almost directly across from the inside helm and can seat up to 8 guests. You can open windows next to the dining table and directly across near the helm to create a nice cross-breeze while enjoying your meal.

Layout : The Absolute 47 Flybridge has a three stateroom and two head layout with the spacious master cabin placed portside and midship. It features an en suite head, windows on both sides, a large porthole for ventilation, and a beautiful walk-in closet. Sliding doors are used throughout to maximize space.

The VIP stateroom is placed in the bow and also has storage options in a large walk-in closet as well as several drawers. There is a large side window as well as a porthole to let fresh air and light inside. the third guest stateroom features side-by-side twin bunks and high ceilings.

The Absolute 47 Flybridge is an excellent choice for beginning yacht owners or for owners who are wishing to move down from a larger yacht. The 47 Fly is efficient, comfortable, and has the amenities on board for cruising. There is an optional wide, hard top that offers excellent protection and livability on the flybridge.

George Galloway spent much of his manifesto speech talking about Nigel Farage. 

The leader of the Workers Party of Britain warned of a political vacuum that was being created by the perceived failure of the major parties. 

He said Reform UK was making dangerous advances as a result.

"There's a real chance Nigel Farage will run away with this election," he said.

While Reform UK and the Workers Party sit on opposite ends of the political spectrum, both seek to fill that aforementioned vacuum.

But Mr Galloway's party is not building the same kind of momentum and current polling suggests it won't return a single MP.

That would be a step back from February, when Mr Galloway won the Rochdale by-election, dropping candidate Azhar Ali at late notice after he was accused of antisemitism. 

At the same time, Mr Galloway successfully capitalised on the frustration and anger at Labour's position on the Israel-Gaza conflict among Rochdale's Muslim population.

Muslims make up 20% of the population in Rochdale and there are 28 seats nationwide where they comprise more than a fifth. 

Labour are directing activists to places like Luton to shore up support in the face of a threat from independent candidates and parties taking a strong pro-Palestine stance.

Mr Galloway warned today that Labour had lost the Muslim vote over their foreign policy stance. 

Yet most Muslims rate the cost of living crisis and the NHS as their main priorities, ahead of the Middle East.

Labour might be concerned about losing some Muslim voters, but the majority are still planning to vote for them - and in higher numbers than the rest of the population.

Mr Galloway's opponents in Rochdale on 4 July are:

• Martyn Savin, Greens;
• Michael Howard, Reform;
• Paul Waugh, Labour;
• Paul Ellison, Conservatives.

The Workers Party of Britain has launched its manifesto today.

The party is led by George Galloway, who won a by-election in Rochdale earlier this year and is looking to retain the seat.

Here is what his party wants to do:

• Raise the personal tax threshold to £21,200;
• Introduce a one off 5% wealth tax on all estates "valued fairly" at over £10m - estimated to bring in a £17bn windfall;
• Call for a single state in which all those born in Palestine and Israel can "live in peace with equal rights";
• Review defence and foreign policy, including a referendum on the UK's NATO membership in which the party would back leave;
• Introduce a migration policy that "reflects anxiety among the working class" but also acknowledges "some of this anxiety is stoked by the racist right";
• Consider the nationalisation of rail, electricity, water, the military-industrial complex, national food logistics, ports, and airports;
• Hold a net-zero referendum to create a national debate "on who profits from these targets and on what terms", and oppose ULEZ initiatives;
• Propose major review of pensions policy - aiming to restore option of all workers retiring at 60;
• Free public travel for children - as in London - for the rest of the country;
• Free "good quality and nutritious" breakfast and lunch meals during term time to all children without means testing;
• Get police to "refocus on street safety and estate crime as an antidote to policing by Twitter and criminalising speech and thought".

The wives of three Conservative ministers - including the PM - have been out on the campaign trail.

Susie Cleverly, wife of Home Secretary James Cleverly; Lucia Hunt, wife of Chancellor Jeremy Hunt; and Akshata Murty, wife of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak; joined Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer in Ely and East Cambridgeshire constituency today.

The group were seen handing out leaflets in Fordham, Suffolk.

In the SNP manifesto it says funding for Scotland's NHS "has more than doubled" and "staffing is at a record high" - with "far more doctors and nurses per head" than in the rest of the UK.

This is true. 

What is also true is that since the pandemic, the Scottish NHS workforce has grown substantially, but its hospital productivity has fallen.

Higher spending and recruitment has not been matched by an increase in the number of patients being seen and cared for. 

Scotland's elective waiting list has grown (more than England's), as have the country's longer term waits for operations and A&E waiting times (though these are higher in England).

The SNP says it will invest £300m to drive down these waiting times, money it says it will raise through "devolution of tax powers". 

The Scottish government spends more on health than any other area.

And with an ageing population with complex health needs, it will need to spend more in the years ahead.

According to research by the Institute for Fiscal Studies, at the start of devolution Scotland was spending more per person on health than England or Wales, but this gap has narrowed. 

The Scottish Fiscal Commission projects spending will need to grow by around 3% in real terms over the next two decades and that much of this spending will go towards increased staffing.

In the past hour or so, Just Stop Oil released a video of its members spraying Stonehenge with orange paint.

They did this to warn of the climate crisis ahead of this week's summer solstice.

Sunak: A disgraceful act of vandalism

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was asked about the incident this afternoon.

He said: "This is a disgraceful act of vandalism to one of the UK's and the world's oldest and most important monuments.

"Just Stop Oil should be ashamed of their activists, and they and anyone associated with them, including a certain Labour Party donor, should issue a condemnation of this shameful act immediately."

Dale Vince, a Labour donor who previously donated to Just Stop Oil, said last year he had stopped giving money to the group.

Starmer: Just Stop Oil are pathetic

Sir Keir Starmer has also condemned the incident today.

"The damage done to Stonehenge is outrageous," he tweeted.

"Just Stop Oil are pathetic. 

"Those responsible must face the full force of the law."

Three people are on trial at Westminster Magistrates' Court following a protest outside Sir Keir Starmer's house.

The demonstration happened back in April.

Giving evidence today, Sir Keir's wife Victoria said seeing the protest - which involved a banner saying "Starmer stop the killing" in reference to the war in Gaza - made her feel "a bit sick".

"I felt apprehensive and uncomfortable," she added.

Mrs Starmer said she was returning from a shopping trip with her son at the time, and chose to keep driving.

Asked by the defence's lawyer if the protest looked peaceful, she said: "It would look like a peaceful protest if it hadn't been outside my home."

Leonorah Ward, 21, of Leeds, Zosia Lewis, 23, of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and Daniel Formentin, 24, of Leeds, deny public order offences and breaching bail.

The trial continues.

It's another day of manifesto launches, while the prime minister and the Labour leader have been reacting to news inflation has fallen.

• Rishi Sunak said it was a "very positive step" that shows his plan is working, and repeated his claim that Labour would undo the country's economic recovery with tax hikes;
• But he sought to downplay news that small boat crossings reached a 2024 high yesterday , insisting his Rwanda scheme would help.
• Sir Keir Starmer said people's lives wouldn't "suddenly get easier" after inflation fell and described the spike in Channel crossings as "shocking";
• His reaction to both came as he welcomed the support of former Tory donor John Caudwell , who backed Boris Johnson in 2019;
• The Labour leader will be hoping for more good news when Sky News publishes the results of a major YouGov poll at 5pm .

Rishi Sunak spoke to reporters while munching a Twix (his second of the day apparently) in the visitor centre of the Sizewell B nuclear power plant on the Suffolk coast.

The second half of the campaign has been marked out by a constant focus on tax from the Tories, and more specifically accusations about what Labour would do if they got into power.

That was on show again today, but the prime minister also tried to reinforce a dividing line on defence – accusing Sir Keir Starmer of "undermining" the UK's security.

"If Keir Starmer is elected one of the first things he will do is head off to a NATO summit having cut British defence spending from the planned increases I've announced," he said.

"I think that sends exactly the wrong message both to our allies, but also to our adversaries like Putin and like the North Koreans."

Like many of the jibes thrown around in this campaign, the PM's facts are disputed by Labour – who say they will match the 2.5% of GDP defence commitment but only "when economic conditions allow".

Mr Sunak was also asked about his predecessor Boris Johnson apparently jetting off on holiday rather than playing more of an active role in the campaign.

He said he was "grateful" the former PM had been "supporting the Conservative Party" and regularly warning about the "risks of what Starmer would do in government".

Given it's Mr Johnson's 60th birthday, Mr Sunak also added a brisk "happy birthday".
