However, as noted above any strong fabric will, such as Sunbrella, cotton duck, soft trampoline mesh or polyester bag mesh.

I have a way to secure a 3' section in the middle of the bunk and I was thinking that would allow freedom of movement at the head and feet. The alternative is to build a 6' lee cloth.

This Lee Cloth can also be used on lifelines and acts as a safety net to protect your kids, crew or pets from falling overboard and to protect from spray. In either case, normally, the upper loops have a tensioning line or the upper lifeline threaded thru the loops.

Our girl has what at first appears to be a fine setup. U-dinette arrangement with settee opposite. The outer seating of the dinette and the settee are both more than adequate as sea berths and are both fitted with lee clothes. Also the aft quarter cabin berth is spilt down the middle and is again fitted with lee cloth.

lifeline netting for lee clothes
JohnRPollard. My experience with lifeline netting suggests it will not make a good material for leeclothes. Having strung it along sidedecks, it is very frustrating getting it to tension up evenly without sags/wrinkles. Whereas, with leeclothes, a very tight, snug fit is important.
